This is the third devotional that I have reviewed by Mary Jane Humes and this issue did not disappoint. As it says in the title, this is a study of Esther a woman who saved a nation. The story of an orphan, a woman of faith, an intercessor, and a queen. Who better to inspire us all to live out God's plan for our lives. Mary Jane Humes pulls you into the story of a woman whose faith and bravery saved all future generations of her people. 2000 years later we can still we can still reach into her life and pull out knowledge and lessons to model our lives after. Mary Jane is a talented and gifted author. Her words guide us along the path, but we must make our own decisions in which way to turn. I highly recommend this novel. I gave this honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the book.

Should be labeled Historical Fiction

Author takes great liberties to “spin” her version of the story. While this is fine, she should label it as such. Repeated analogies of King Xerxes to God was unusual - just hard to compare such a wicked, heathen king to the King of Kings.
