Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked. Since the beginning of times, there have always been two Norms and Idols. But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today. I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers. And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get. To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me. They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me. *Read now the complete series. Highly recommend

The only reason I didn't give this five stars, is because I hated the female leads sister who was TSTL, selfish and I!!store and because suddenly at the end of book three until book four, the female lead became TSTL. It frustrates me so much when heroines lose all common sense. Throughout most of books, the heroine is great. I loved all the male characters. Each person had s very tragic backstory, but Phoenix's broke my heart and needs a trigger warning.
The journey isn't easy, but the crew gets their hard earned HEA. The steamy scenes do not contain MM . Story told in alternating POV of each main character. The summary does a good job, so not rehashing.Even though there was one character I couldn't stand, she wasn't a main character thank goodness.

Wish it didn’t end

I loved this series. It was completely different from all the academy books out there. The story had substance and the characters were just written fantastically. I hope 1 day to read about their children. Now that would be an epic continuation of the series

Fantabulous

This is not the type of paranormal book I’ve seen before, I’ve had it in my kindle for a while now and thought yeah why not read it now. Well I was not disappointed at all. What a powerful journey and what an amazing imagination Michelle has to bring this story to life. 🙌🏻👏

if I hadn’t read this through the omnibus collection, I wouldn’t have continued past the first book

Wicked Gods (2 stars)

This is not a good book. The story is fine. The characters are fine. There’s no way these bullies will ever be worthy of the FMC. The loss of her parents is so unnecessary. The trauma her and her sister have to endure is so unnecessary. I understand that “hurt people, hurt people” but there’s nothing that Phoenix and Rufio could do to make them worthwhile in the end. Somehow, we’re just going to have to accept them in the end. The Idols and the Fringes abusing the Norms is so frustrating and everything Principal Fallon and Mr. X are doing but not doing is increasingly annoying. If I weren’t reading this in the omnibus then I would stop reading.

Ruthless Idols (4 stars)

“What’s up with everyone’s cloak -and - dagger attitude? Can’t they give us a straight answer?” Exactly … the story is clear enough or good enough for the writing to be this unclear. Nothing that has currently been kept to the “main players” has been warranted this.

Somehow, all four of the men redeemed themselves enough for me to not care if they made it back together. I appreciated that the bullying was minimal and we got to know more of the story. The twists WERE GOOD!! This installment easily made up for the dismal book 1. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Hateful Heroes (3 stars)

Such a strong start. Then everyone got separated and went on their own adventure which I hated. But then Phoenix’s storyline fell off, so do we still have to worry about that? They ended up back together to have a new wrench in their plan… and terrible communication. Everyone knows something but either they’re compelled not to share it or they’ve forgotten it’s In their heads or they’re just keeping it to themselves. The plan is for her to “unmake” Neo Gods, but there was no mention of a plan of action - how does she even know who they are?! Book 2 was so good in the grand scheme of things and this one goes back to being all over the place and building things with no payout. Honestly Bryce and Rufio (I’m still mad about that name) have a mess in the form of parents and I hate that we have to deal with them. Honestly, Delta and Mr. Kent should’ve been the last casualties cause we have plenty of people to deal with still to end this reign of terror. I hate Principal Fallon, she’s a real menace that I don’t understand. Rosie is a real pain and I wish they could just speak frankly with the brat. I’m disappointed that Bryce didn’t fully fix Rufio. I guess we’ll stay tuned for the next book.

Broken Knights (3 stars)

I HATE WHEN A BOOK STARTS WITH A FLASHBACK! A six year flashback to before the FMC even meets the guys, why bother.

“I know I’ve been acting like an ungrateful brat lately. I see now that I was wrong to put every Idol in one bucket of evil.” At least Rosie took her head out of her @$$.

Principal Fallon and her hidden agenda is driving me up a tree!! She’s giving President Coin vibes and I don’t like it!! But at least the majority of people see she’s unhinged.

It took so long to do anything and then suddenly everyone is going on their own side quests again. We’re fighting everyone else. No one is to be trusted. People are dying. The Fate they are trying to make happen was convoluted. It was a lot.

There wasn’t any real time for grief but I feel like - it was truly glossed over. The ending was fine. The whole thing was fine.

12/20 stars

Honestly, book 2 was so good! Books 3 & 4 were convoluted and book 1 was just bad.

Wicked Gods - Ruthless Idols - Hateful Heroes - Broken Knights
. . .
This is a why choose, paranormal romance series. I'm listening to this series and I'm so in love with it! I find it difficult to review one book at a time if they aren't standalones and these are not. Tropes: Paranormal Academy, Hate at First Sight, Tough FMC, FMC Norm x 4 MMC Idols, Enemies-to-Lovers, Bullying, Mythology, Fate, Past Trauma, Hurt x Comfort, Found Family, He Falls First, Plot Twists, Dark Themes, Brothers , HEA. These are 5 star️ 3 chili reads for me! There are six books in this series and the fifth books switches gears to different characters/love interests, so I plan to review those separately. I'm so in love with the MMCs in this series. Naturally they are all gorgeous, but also care for the FMC in their own unique ways. If you love a super spicy why choose - this isn't it. The spice is predominantly MF and there are a voyeur scenes and one foursome in book four. If you're here for the plot - WELCOME!! You'll love this I had to know what happened and blew through about 40 hrs of audio in three days
. . .
Daisy (FMC) lives in a world that consists of three societal factions divided by magical abilities: the Norms, who have no powers, the Fringes, who have some powers, and the Idols, who have all the power. Unfortunately for Daisy, she's a Norm. After her parents die tragically, she's on the run with her younger sister. They are scraping by when her luck changes and she's invited to attend a prestigious academy full of Fringes and Idols. Can she take the heat? Both from the student body that wants to reject her, and from the four gorgeous men who have chosen to torment her?

The war of the Gods

This series was so easy to lose myself in over the weekend. Daisy was a likeable rebel and survivor who had a tough childhood yet she did not let it get her down. Her sister Rosie however drove me crazy as she was such a whiny, ungrateful brat who did not appreciate what Daisy had sacrificed for her. Seriously she was so judgemental and yet had no right to be. All the men in Daisy's life were initially cruel and tortured her and then the tables turned . They all fell in love with Daisy. Throw in some ancient gods, cult like leaders with their fanatical followers and a fated prophecy and this book is just getting started. There is language, lots of sex scenes and it is a reverse harem story so be warned it is not for the faint of heart.. Definitely a page turner and plenty pf steamy moments to keep you interested

Good read

Great story filled with constant action and suspense. The ending with the final showdown was rather disappointing and very anti-climatic. After a multiple book build up. It ended so fast, way too easy and without specific details. Some frustrating factors, One, the little sister was so annoying that if anyone was in a life-and-death situation she would’ve been addressed and sat down and not brought into situations of danger when she couldn’t handle herself. The sex scenes were annoying as well. For men who are described as sex gods, their performance and moves were all the same and very underwhelming, Yet described as the best sexual experience of their life. Other than that, the story was good . Just felt let down at the end.

Loved this series! I read this ages ago and forgot to Review. This book was on of my first reverse harems. Great world building and introduction to the world of norms and idols. Daisy is a norm Who works as a waitress to make ends meet. She is given a scholarship to the gifted academy and aims to make the most of it. Unfortunately her norm status makes her the target for all, but daisy is strong enough to stand her ground. The idols Rufio, Phoenix, Bryce and Morpheus are drawn to her and this makes them work harder to get her to leave the academy. Loved it, it’s slow burn and full of witty banter

Interesting coming of age reverse harem story in a mythological universe

Very interesting characters in a mythological universe with gods, demi-gods, supers, semi-supers and finally normal mortals. What could go wrong when absolute power corrupts..... absolutely. Of course, the supers have taken over and might makes right.

These high school kids stumble their way from an adversarial relationship into a polyamorous one. All while trying to keep their grades up. This ends up kicking off a multi sided factional conflict that ends with a showdown between gods.

I’ve been looking forward to this series, and it did not disappoint. We get an interesting cast of characters as they come into their powers. Over the course of the series, they learn to hone these skills as well as grow as individuals. They also develop relationships with each other. There a lot of mystery and action that keep you on the edge of your seat as well. Overall, and entertaining series.

This was the first time I had read anything by this author and I must say I really enjoyed these 4 books that make up the Gifted Academy. I don't normally read this genre however I found myself liking something that was outside the books I would normally read. If you're after something a little different that takes you into a different world I would recommend these books.

Good

There were some bits I felt were unnecessary and then it made the ending rushed and a bit unsatisfactory but overall I enjoyed it.

Great books 🥰🥰

The plot twists were great and the writing was excellent with excellent characters that jumped from the page and evolved in a natural way. The mythology was easy to follow and it was fun to read. Enemies to lovers with a stuffed up society with people with powers doing what people in power do "be jerks"

I kind of liked this book, but the ending and "all the answers to our questions" were a bit weird and didn't fit with the rest of the drama we saw throughout the series. I feel like it went from 0 to 60 in a very imaginative ending that gave me whip lash.
