A legend of one soul scorched by flame and split into two spirits.

Okay that is a bit dramatic of a start but yeah basically that is the premise as we continue our tale in the manga adaptation of Fate Grand Order. For those that have played the game this is set after the the events of Singularity F and starts in the next Singularity of Orleans in 1431. Master of Chaldea, Ritsuka Fujimaru (the male one) and Demi-servant Mash Kyrielight soon discover how very wrong history has gone astray as they continue their quest to save humanity from going extinct.

For those that are super offended by fan service and lewd shots I must warn you that some of the characters in the game and by proxy these books can be a little risque in their attires but even more so I was surprised by a barely covered Dragon Witch scene right off the bat in chapter 6 which may cause some to shake their heads even if it is limited. Seeing as the series is rated Older Teens and has not only scenes like this but plenty of violence as the forces of humanity have to fight against those that would corrupt history and thus the future of humanity itself.

All in all it sucks to have to wait for a new manga every time i want to see the FGO story to be brought to life in these manga pages but I am also happy to see the story playing out once more after having cleared it myself a while ago. I am looking forward to seeing how far this series is willing to go so if I want to see the story for now I will just have to rewatch the game records. :)

Going into this I wasn’t expecting a lot. But I was surprised by how fleshed out Joan’s story was. The themes of forgiveness, the danger of raw emotion, and accepting both the good and bad side of you.
All of these were touching and made for a great story. It was able helped by the fact that it fall fit perfectly into the real story of Joan of Arc. It felt like a real continuation of these real people.
I was also surprised by how great Marie was. When she first arrived, I thought she was going to be so annoying, but when she sacrificed herself to let Joan and the others escape, I was saddened by her absence from the rest of the book.
Joan Alters story was also great. I expected a villain doing evil things for the sake of it, but she wasn’t that. And though I don’t agree with her methods, I understand her rage.

All in all, “Fate/Grand Order: Hundred Years War” was great, and I can’t wait to read the next singularity.
