All my life, I’ve known there was something wrong with me.
I don’t fit into this world. I don’t belong.
Then the ukkur come for me, and everything changes.
Four brutal warriors, their massive bodies bulging with muscles and striped with battle scars. I fear them. Their savage growls make my blood run hot and cold.
But they stir other feelings too. A painful yearning deep inside. A feeling my primitive language cannot begin to explain.
I belong to the pack now. I am theirs to toy with. Theirs to share.
If I defy them, they will discipline me.
If I try to run, they will hunt me to the ends of the world.
But if I finally surrender then maybe, just maybe, these monsters hold the keys to unlock my innermost secrets.
Irregardless of the romance aspect this was a great story. I couldn't stop reading it and I finished the book in tears y'all.
Some people may not always like the sometimes (with Lizzy usually most times lol) kinky alien sex, but you cannot say that her world building and writing isn't top notch. I was sucked in from page one. This had the feeling of a kinkier lighter version of Clan of the Cave Bear.
I've never been one to give a rundown book report of what happens in a book, and I won't start now. Enough people do that. I will just say I loved tough fierce Ika. I loved her figuring out her place in this world and that it was right and okay to be different. Also, I LOVED Slain, he was my sweet fav!!
I'm not gonna lie there is some kinky steamy stuff going on in here, so you are warned!! I don't throw around 5 Stars for nothing so I say give it a chance.
3.5* So, i r e n e my friend, I've been sneaky and read book #2 as well. And contrary to my prejudgment, this one holds out well too. I wasn't expecting anything much or new from the Ukkur-Human-Nith world second time around, but the author manages to surprise - a bit. The circumstances of this h are very different. And after initial disquiet, I liked the story. For newer shock value, we have the Abolith (or the dead Abolith)incident.
Maybe I should not nit-pick but 'breasts', 'steel ring' or 'below the earth' are not terms that should occur to an Ukkur or Ukkur-raised, and certainly not 'flaky pastry', carmelaized onions'...
4.2 stars. Ok. So that ending was absolutely heartwarmingly sweet.
This was a little less weird than the first. There wasn’t as much of that struggle at the beginning where the Ukkur in the first book were thinking that Alyx would be a good meal. Still. Check TWs because it’s still a dark alien romance and there are things that some people may find hard to stomach.
Ika grew up on the planet, raised by an Ukkur named Rolf. So she speaks their language fluently, as it’s the only one she’s ever heard, or known of. And there’s an immediate attraction to the four Ukkur who come to trade with Rolf, stemmed from curiosity.
Also. The punishments in this book were harsher. A switch was involved once. But, though everything is new for both Ika and her Ukkur pack, she enjoys their dominance.
It was hot. Still weird, though in a slightly different way, and definitely primitive and alien. But. Still hot.
And that ending! Oh my god. That ending was so sweet and happy and perfect, I loved it.
I think I liked this book better than the first. That ending really cemented it for me.
Ok. After reading book 2 I can confirm that these books are 80% kinky alien dub-con sex that turns to more, and 20% intriguing plot that has sucked me in enough to keep reading and see if the Ukker and Humans can defeat the evil Nith.
Lizzy Bequin has become my favourite author. I have read all her books and adore them all. I borrowed it on KU as soon as it comes out.
Feast is the second installment in the same universe as Meat. (you don't need to read Meat as both are standalone, but I strongly recommend you read Meat to know the bigger story arc and Meat is a fantastic read too.)
● Reverse Harem (no M/M) ● Scorching hot (as always for Bequin's) ● Alien romance ● Action packed, fast paced ● Clever heroine and very protective MCs ● Can be considered dark for some readers
What I love the most is how Bequin can perfect the emotional depth and connection between main characters. The author packed the romance, plot, and action in one smooth glide. The sexual tension is burning. But it is the plot that gets me everytime. In Feast, we delve into how Ika(human FMC) has come to this world. Ika is very strong and clever. She is an epitome of what the fighter with a good heart should be.
The male leads are Ukkurs (same as Meat). Each has different personalities which complements each other. And they all are very protective of her. No Love word needs to be said as their action have spoken louder.
The story also explore the relationship between Ika and Rolf. Though there is no word in Ukkur meaning father. I can sense it in all the scenes between Ika and Rolf. How he has love her unconditionally and care for her as best as a father can do.
Another thing I love about Bequin's work is pregnancy and birthing. Birthing can be a tough water to tread. But Bequin has done it beautifully in all her works.(I admit that I always look for it 😏 ). It completes the story and give the picture of their love as a family unit.
So excited to be feasting my eyes once again on a story set in the world of "Meat". It's a world where the alien Nith trade a much needed food derivative for unwanted humans, but not as slave labor - oh, no, no, no!! Humans are not even worthy of labor. The Nith consider them just animals and animals are really only good for one thing, meat - humans are a good source for the Nith.
Nith have enslaved an entire race of people, ukkurs, just so they can work on harvesting the food derivative. If that wasn't bad enough, they killed off the females and started artificially growing the males. This is the world in which "Feast" is set. Any ukkurs that free themselves have never seen a female and don't know what humans are.
Ika was found moments after her mother died giving birth to her. She doesn't know why she is different from the other ukkurs she sees and wonders if she will ever grow "a piss stick" too. There are moments that are just too funny because you can see the truth in them. When you can imagine being in a situation and never having seen a female or another human and feeling good bizarre it much be, along with the wonder that must be felt. The same thing happens when Ika meets other ukkurs. It's almost a violation, but not?!? It's hard to explain so just remember the context.
This story may not be as in your face as "Meat". There may not be any scenes of flesh being devoured, but it does have its moments. I know that the author is was probably giggling while she wrote the very dirty, raunchy scene. It's the kind of scene that will either give this book starts out lose them, but I love this author and had to laugh knowing she was pushing the envelope on it. Overall I enjoyed this book. I liked the shock value of "Meat" more, but I will tell you this I usual don't like the female h and I did like her in this.

Oooo, this is a nice turn for the Ukkur Mates series, Feast feeds the filthy, naughty readers soul.
Where Meat introduced us to the Nith via their incoming shipment of human food, Feast is a book about the Ukkur people. And it's a tasty treat. When pregnant human Mara escapes the Nith she has no plan but to save her child. Alone in a cave, her daughter is born where an Ukkur finds her and raises her. Since Ukkurs are a race of males made in laboratories, her protector knows only that he has to keep her a secret to keep her safe.
And that is how this story begins. And Lizzy Bequin is a marvel at this series. With some clunkiness here and there that I caught where she uses human-specific terminology for the Ukkur, she really makes this series quite unique--and dirty. It's a dirty, twisted, erotic, pRon book, NSFW, or your church-going mom unless she's a super freak.
I love that in this particular book Ika, the heroine, is part of the culture even if she is not Ukkur. That she understands the Ukkur language, but that both are clueless as to what is happening to them physically or emotionally. I also thought it was nice that she tied in the first book.
Yay, Lizzy! Still a fan.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
Ika doesn’t understand what she is, but when she sees the three warriors at the mouth of her guardian Rolf’s cave, she is drawn to them. When her scouting mission goes awry and she is captured by the three warriors, she is not out of the woods yet as danger is ever present and the warriors will fight to keep their treasured find. Ika’s world will shift forever as the warriors discover the pleasures that only Ika can give them as they give into their passion filled lust. When Rolf is captured, Ika and her warriors will fight to reunite their family as the final secrets come out and her warriors see just how special Ika is to them.

A feast for the senses. It had me gripped!! Not my usual read, but the cover caught my eye, and the blurb caught my interest. Trying out new genres are always a risk. But it’s one I’m glad i took. So .........
The story starts off with a human female running from an abattoir, but not of animal flesh! The flesh being killed and consumed is human! The “butchers” are Nith (aliens that look distinctly animal like) and they have a cargo delivered to them.....
Reading the beginning, I had hoped it would be of mother and child, but sadly that’s not the case!
I loved Ika, she had a child like quality to her, her innocence catches you, and when her innocent thoughts turn into lustful thoughts (although she doesn’t know the meaning) you have to wonder where it will take her. She’s been brought up by her protector Rolf, there is no sexual interaction between those characters, it’s more of a father and daughter role. She’s only ever known Rolf, he’s taught her everything, and she loves and trusts him implicitly. But one day she spies on her “father” and the Ukkur (another form of alien life form) trading, she’s notices they are like her father, but different from her. She’s curious, and that curiosity is going to get her into trouble....
The “beasts” that capture and contain our heroine are beasts in every sense (shifter book usually look like animals, but turn into humans, they don’t retain any physical attributes like tusks!)
Thursar, Gunnar, Slaine and Muk live in a group, it’s easier to fight and hunt in a group, Gunnar is the brains of the group, Muk is the youngest and can usually make them all smile, especially Slaine, whose good for a warrior, but has a darkness in him that most Ukkur’s don’t. Leaving leadership to Thursar. Ukkur aren’t your usual alien life forms, they were created as slaves by the Nith! Fully formed and ready to work for their masters. But the Ukkur were rebelling, forming pockets of resistance and escaping their masters.
The interaction between Ika and the four warriors is a little strange.... it gives the impression that the Ukkur are innocence too, they don’t have females (no need they are made not born) and they have a childlike process about them (they are slaves, they aren’t educated) But the feelings they have for Ika isn’t childlike and it’s very foreign to them. But they won’t give up their prize, Gunnar wants to study her, Muk is wary of her, Slaine just grunts at her, and Thursar, well he has all kinds of thoughts about her!!!
As I said, a very different type of book. It’s more SciFi/horror with a little romance thrown in (not sure romance is the word I’d use!)
But don’t let the name of the book put you off, it’s good story, a little rough around the edges, but maybe it’s suppose to be rough, Ika wasn’t born on earth, she was brought up as an Ukkur, and they were created, so a whole lot of different circumstances.
I’d love a series, you want more human and Ukkur matings. And you want an uprising against the Nith, and you want the humans on earth (those who decide who is transported to the alien planet) to pay for their crimes.
🦋I received this book from Booksprout for an honest review
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The characterization was better for the heroine than for the four heroes, which is fairly common in a reverse harem romance. Characterization of five or more main protagonists is quite the writing challenge. The heroine and four heroes were all sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was dominant and sizzling hot, with BDSM elements and a heat rating of five chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning that I read this novel in one sitting. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Enemies to Lovers trope, the Captive trope, and the Parent Figure in Trouble trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The he characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also both four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a hopeful Happy Ever After ending instead of a revenge scene, so I liked this novel far better than the first novel in this series. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy dark sci-fi romance where the heroine is also strong and ruthless when necessary. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Book 2 in the series and an awesome read. This one follows the story of Ika who is brought up from infancy by Rolf. As she enters into her 18th year, Ika is fascinated by a group of 4 men who visit with Rolf on their way to trade. Ika is told to hide by Rolf, but her curiosity gets the better of her and when Rolf goes to sleep that night she sneaks out and follows the men to their camp. For her entire 18 years Rolf is the only breathing creature she has had contact with, so when she sees the four men understandably she is fascinated, curious and downright nosey. Which inevitably gets her into trouble, because one of them senses her so she runs - into trouble and she needs to be saved. So starts her education ukkur style which involves spankings because she has been naughty, very intense examination by all of the men and finally an introduction to the pleasures of her sexuality. As usual Lizzy writes very descriptive stories that leave nothing to the imagination and this is why I love her style of writing so much. Now, I just have to wait for the next book by her.
Ms Bequin is just one of these wonderful authors that when she sets out to write a series, every book after the first is just as good as the first or even better, and who can go past that. I certainly cant. This book follows after Meat and i though that was such a great read, this one is just as great. It focus first on a human women on the run from the nith , she is nine months pregant and the baby is coming. Rolf a Ukkur comes back to his cave to find two creatures one small one large. Roll on 18 years later and Rolf is protective over this young one but Ika is sick in tired of hiding from others, so when she sees the four men she knows she has to follow just to see them again. Four Ukkurs, Thusar, Gunnar, Slaine and Muk are not sure what she is but are determined to keep her. We also see in the story more Ukkurs joing together to overtake more of the nith, a truely exciting story worthy to be read. Enjoy readers i know you will definately love this book once more!!!!
Rolf, an ukkur who escaped the slavery of the nith many years ago, finds an unknown, tiny and helpless creature, a little baby girl, in his cave one evening. He calls her Ika and raises her, keeping her away from strangers' eyes. One day Ika's curiosity wins out and she follows four ukkur to observe them more closely. However, she meets a patrol of the nith and is rescued at the last minute by the four ukkur. They are so fascinated by Ika that they don't want to let her go anymore ... I liked the book so much that I finished reading it very quickly, which is always a good sign for me. It was a good read and comes highly recommended! I found the almost innocent ignorance of the characters about their own and the opposite sex really well described and believable! Now I really have to read Meat!

If you read the first book called Meat and loved it. Then your in luck. This one is even better than the first in my opinion. A bit darker, a whole lot of adventure and a new found romance all jammed packed in another novel for the race called Ukkur. The Nith stuck a deal with the starving humans of earth. In exchange for their precious meat called ksh. They wanted humans as cattle, and it wasn't just for labor, oh no. It was for their meat. The Nith would eat the humans once they butchered them in one of their many meat factories. Growing up without a piss stick is humiliating enough as it is for little Ika. How can she find out what she is with Rolf still treating her like baby Ukkur. She wants to prove to Rolf and herself she is big. She just needs to find a chance when Rolf isn't looking.
This is book two in the series. An Ukkar, Rolf, finds a woman and a baby. He has no idea what they are. But when he picks up the baby, he feels a connection and wants to take care of her. He names her Ika and raises her. Fast forward 18 years and Ika is grown and when other Ukkar come around, she is intrigued by them. When she goes to spy on them, she is captured by the Nith. They rescue her and, through trial and error, find a way to love each other. There is a HEA for these five and a HFN for the progress of the book. The Ukkar continue to work towards freeing the planet from the Nith. I do want to read more about this world that the author has created. I highly recommend this series.

I have heard people talk about Meat, also set in this world. I was excited to read this story, which is a reverse harem sci-fi tale. The nith are the enemy, and the ukkar have been enslaved by them. This story is written from multiple points of view, and is from a ukkar’s view of the world. Curious Ika has been isolated & protected, so when other sentient beings pass by, she cannot resist the chance to learn more about them. The story is about family, without the characters being aware of the constructs of family, men, and women. Thusar, Gunnar, Slaine, & Muk all had their distinct personalities & quirks. I enjoyed reading about their world and their adventures together.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
This was an intense sci-fi read. The Nith trade with earth for humans, Earth sends their criminals who are sent to a slaughterhouse and used as meat. That in itself is disturbing, the eating of something, anything sentient. Well, good thing for our fmc, her mother was able to escape, but was pregnant and didn't make it. She is found by one of the native inhabitants of this world and raised as his own. For the most part, the author does a good job of the characters not knowing what and how certain things work, like that time of the month for women, or why women are different. This does start to come into play later on before it's been reasonably explained, but not much and not often. Rolf is sweet and Ika's men are mostly nice...Slaine was a nice surprise.

Raw, gritty, primal and yet still loving and tender at times. The authors vivid characters draw you into this harsh world where the 4 ukkur, Thusar, Gunnar, Muk and Slaine had never seen anything like Ika before. Once they had her, Thusar wasn't going to let her go. All Ika wanted to do was get back to Rolf, her protector, or did she? she was so confused, she was drawn to these 4 ukkur just as they were drawn to her. Great characters as well as awesome worldbuilding. I love that it ties into the last book. full of action and adventure, a really great read.

This is an awesome sequel. I thought it would begin where the other one ended. I was pleasantly surprised that wasn't the case. It's a killer story loaded with action. I read it front to back in a couple hours. It was a quick read but the characters were unique and well thought out. I loved both books but I believe this is my favorite of the two. It had more little details here and there that just have it a little something extra.

A great deliciously dark and twisted read filled with dark some may say disturbing themes, drama, danger, violence, suspense, steamy sexy sceneswith plenty of d/s elements, romance, twists and turns culminating in a happy ever after. Well written, intriguing characters with brilliantly sizzling chemistry and a good storyline. Lizzy Bequin has produced another great read and I will be looking forward to reading the next one.

This book is actually isn't as bloody n dark like Meat. I laugh on certain part. When they learned about female anatomy..lol and then got all hot when they discovered the pleasure. Love how this four Ukkur and their little human found their way together even with stumbling in blind. Love the intense scene with the Ninth. Ika is a little fighter. Love that. Overall, can't wait to read more from the Ukkur's

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. What an amazing story, how Ika and her mum came to this planet. The Nith take the criminals from earth and the Niths eat humans as food, meat. In a her mum escaped when she was pregnant she found a cave and started giving birth but died straight after given birth. Rolf found them took in the baby named her. Now it only gets better in this book so you will have to get the book to find out more.

Feast was a great addition to this series... this world. Definitely a stand alone and an absolutely wonderful read.
Ika was a great character, strong in her unique innocence. Lizzy Bequin has a talent in creating FMC that are compelling and somehow relatable. She’s a writer to follow for a great story and world building, some line pushing and well rounded and developed characters.
Kudos -I’m looking forward to more!

This book was really good. The storyline was really good. We see Rolf find a baby and her dead mother in his cave. Not knowing what they are once he picks up the newborn baby girl he feels protective. We see him teach her many things as she grows. Until one day when shes alot older, she makes her hide from a passing clan. When she sees the other men things start to change and she sneaks out to see them. From here they go through many twists and while trying not to get caught. Realising they are mates and what things are used for. Lol to understand this part you will have to pick up a copy
This is the sequel to Meat, so now we Feast! This is a dark, dirty, some gore, discipline, spankings, and mates that share, battles, escapes. Ika doesn't really know why she feels different. When she see four Ukkurs, Thusar, Gunnar, Slaine and Muk she just knows that she has to follow them. I love how Ika figures out her place in the world and found that it's OK to be different. Love the ending. I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I just love the way this world is build, the way discoveries are made for themselves. I tried to write about the book but find I give too many spoilers away. Go read Meat first in the same world. If you love your men growly, possessive and big, go read it. If you love the women strong and independent but needing a strong 'hand';, this book is for you

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is another book in the Ukkur world that Lizzie has created. Ika and the four Ukkur have an intense connection. The story is full of drama and suspense with a lot of steam between the characters. This is another well written story. The characters and their story will pull you in and make it hard to put down
