Life doesn’t prepare you for this type of shit. The mother of my children is dead and now I’m on my way back to Tallahassee. I told my sons what happened, but my daughter’s another story. She’s so young, so innocent, and I don’t want to rip her heart open, but I can't lie to her about this shit.
Thankfully, one of my ex's neighbors has been lending a helping hand for a while. While she's great to look at, it's another thing when she opens her mouth. Every time she does I want to put duct tape over it.
When push comes to shove I realize I’m stuck with this woman, whether I want to be or not.
Fenrir is the VP to the nomads Raiders of Valhalla MC and has lived his life being the nomad at heart even though it meant leaving his three children with his ex, Amanda. He loved them all but one night he gets the call that no one ever wants. He needs to go to Tallahassee to be with his kids. Thank goodness Amanda’s neighbor, Charm, loves those kids like her own. She stays with them until Fenrir arrives the next day.
Fenrir hasn’t actually been with Amanda for quite some time but their relationship was always friendly. I love the chemistry and banter between Fenrir and Charm and the “special” brownies she makes for him that his brothers eat as well, gave me some good laugh out loud moments. On a more serious note a rival club may be targeting Fenrir and the people he loves so the end to this book has me on pins and needles to find out what happens next.
DNF@16% p20/110 Chapter 2 (Fenrir) Ugh. Nah. This writing is not for me. Plus. He just got there, she says one sentence and he’s already decided that he doesn’t like her ✨attitude✨..? Literally What attitude? 😂🤦 🙄 yeah. I’m good.
This was an angry read to finish. I was totally fed up with Charm by page 30 (out of 110 on my Kindle). I even messaged my sister (a common reading sounding board for me) asking if I should finish it for the angry review catharsis or call it a day and move on. I apparently needed the venting because I sucked it up and finished the last hour or so of reading and am ready for some venting. So here we go...
Fenrir (MMC) is part of a nomadic MC but is called home to Tallahassee, FL when he receives news that Amanda, his ex and the mother of his three children, has been killed in a traffic accident. Charm (FMC) is the next door neighbor who had been a dear friend and support to his ex. Of course, the first meetings aren't the best but sparks are still flying. Will they find each other even in the midst of their grief and major life changes?
Charm was anything but charming. And yes, I was thinking that frequently through the book, as weak a pun as it is. Fenrir wasn't much better, but Charm really got on my last nerves. Their first meeting was rough - no meet-cute here. He's abrupt, but in his defense, he literally just arrived from driving cross-country and facing family tragedy. He corrects her on his name, and she gets all butt-hurt about how rude he is about it. Wait a minute - she uses a nickname too, but doesn't want to give him the same courtesy of using the name he chooses to go by? Was very hypocritcal IMHO, and an oversensitive reaction. Goes downhill from there.
She's not developed well either. We get that she's a reiki practitioner and has certain views on death and is an odd duck in her family. But it never felt like it was developed. I've read 'hippy/biker' pairings that actually meshed well, but it was developed more on what the alternative views were and how that balanced with his more structured, aggressive MC world. This was not one of those. We just got little throw-away comments and nothing really developed to get a sense of who she was, other than aggressively petty and oversenstive (yeah, the brownie scene did NOT impress me).
Big thing for me was her interactions with Astrid. She told Astrid about Amanda's death. Fenrir was in town, had told the boys and stepped outside to collect himself, but she told the daughter. Apparently he wasn't doing it fast enough for her or on her terms, so she just went ahead and did it. Didn't discuss it with him at all. Just a huge huge overstep that she was completely unrepentant for. And then when he gets mad and calls her out for it, she retaliates to 'teach him a lesson' by giving him (pretty pharmacologically impossible) laxative-laced brownies. I mean, dang, those were fast-acting!! But seriously, that's how she responds to a completely justifiable parental complaint about her interactions with his children? Yes, she doesn't know him, but that also means she doesn't know his relationship with his kids. She could have offered to be there with him, to be extra support for the kids, but she should never have overstepped like that. And then to get pissy that he wasn't apologizing 'well enough' for her standards? Especially after the brownies, I'm amazed he even talked to her again.
Plotting and pacing was weak. We honestly spent way too long on the stupid brownies, but get little interaction to see why they're attracted to each other or how they're moving past the rough first impressions. Just kinda gets glossed over, and then he's visiting her and they're going at it like bunnies and he's claiming her. The suspenseful side of the story was much the same. Things felt forced in to fit, or just kinda dropped into the plot but not developed. Like the mystery with Amanda’s death - not just a traffic accident, but a targeted hit. But how on earth did they figure that out?? I mean, how did Amanda even get targeted when Fenrir is usually eslewhere in the country and Amanda works as a nurse in FL, no other MC connections. What would bring her to someone's attention as a target, why would she be targeted, and how did the MC work that out? We don't know! And another loose plot thread - what difference did Charm's mother make? Woman just comes in greedily, assaults a lawyer, yells at her daughter demanding thousands of dollars, but where does it actually get us? It added nothing to the plot, never got any resolution... those pages could have been much better spent developing Charm and Fenrir's interactions. Or were we supposed to see Charm "actually standing up for herself"? Because the personal growth was on one page. Seriously: "I'd do anything for family, no matter what they'd done in the past," and then a page and a half later, she's cutting off her mother for good. Was weird and abrupt and didn't actually show character growth. And finally the ending. I think it was supposed to be a cliffhanger, but it just felt weird. Too abrupt, maybe? Plus the romance didn't feel like it was at either a solid point to set up another couple's story in book 2, nor at a cliffhanger point for this couple. Basically, two different suspense storylines and the romance storyline all just felt kinda dropped, rather than hooked as a cliffhanger.
Technically, there were quite a few errors. Some were word choice (auburn is a dark copper, red-brown, not "tomato"). A bunch were continuity errors - he leaves the house not wearing a shirt but then two pages later, she's taking his shirt off. She's in nothing but a robe when he goes next door to her house, but 'just needs to grab her bag' to head out to breakfast. They watch her mother leave, but then are still arguing with her on the next page. They're screwing standing up, but then on the next page, they're lying side-by-side. Things like that. When the whole story is 110 pages (including the preview of the next book), shouldn't it be easier to proofread and catch these things?
And this one is completely a personal issue. I have family in Tallahassee. Literally spent every summer there growing up. And there is no zoo. There IS the Tallahassee Museum, which is totally worth the visit and has exhibits and a walking trail for wildlife native to North Florida, and which sometimes has guest animal exhibits. But monkeys? Nope. I know it's something that's easy to gloss over if you aren't familiar with the area, but as is... it pulled me out of the story.
And another personal issue. I just don't like the cover photo. I mean, they aren't egregiously unlike the characters as described. But her makeup just gets me! Her cheekbone is so shiny!! But I think that's a minor irritation and I have just reached the "b*tch eatin' crackers" stage of my feelings with Charm that even her photographic represetative on the cover irked me.
Alternating 1st person POV. No love triangles, no OW/OM drama, no cheating. Completely immature leads, choppy plotting, proofreading mistakes, and (personal issue, I know) Tallahassee factual errors. Cliffhanger for the overarching plotline through the whole MC series. But the way the plot had been developed, it didn't feel that way. Like, I wasn't compelled to pick up the next book to find out what happened.
Would I read more in the series? I'm torn, because some of the blurbs sound like interesting set-ups, and I have more than a few MC romance series that I love. And hopefully Charm won't feature as much in another pair's romance? But overall, the way this one was written just really didn't work for me. So unless it's another free Kindle find, most likely not. Just too many other books with higher priority in my queue.
Would I read more by this author? I've read a few others by Land, and they were alright. This one was just a mess and a rough pair of leads for me to relate to or support. So maybe it's just this particular MC? As mentioned, if there's another free Kindle find, might give it a try, but not in a rush either.
This could have been such an amazing book. Unfortunately, this is a first book in a new series and it ends in a CLIFFHANGER!
Charm tells Soren's daughter about her mother being killed. Then gets mad at him because he got mad at her. There is some club drama going on, then a fire alarm at the spa Charm owns with her friend Fern.
Then bam! Ending! The rest of the series is yet to be published.
Fenrir is the VP of the Raiders of Valhalla, a nomadic MC club that is friendly with the Reapers Rejects (Montana) and Inferno's Clutch (Arizona) MC clubs that have their own series. He gets called back to Tampa, Florida because the mother of his three children, Amanda, died in a car accident. There he meets his wife's neighbor, Charm, who was very good friends with Amanda and is asked to help take care of the kids because they know and like her. They both start off on the wrong foot by treating each other poorly. As they get to know each other better, their attitude towards each other slowly changes. Fenrir is squarely in the anti-hero box. He even admits it in his own words: "I may have lived my life so far in the fast lane, but I’ve also done it by being malicious when needed". He sees Charm as his possible salvation: "Just maybe . . . maybe Charm is the one meant to be mine and take the maliciousness out of my soul". Charm is actually a pretty nice person with a feisty personality. It was fun watching these two get together finally.
Most of the book is dedicated to the budding relationship between Fenrir and Charm. Sprinkled within was the Raiders of Valhalla MC club business with a new over-arching story-line that will continue through future installments of the Raiders of Valhalla stories. The Raiders of Valhalla choose to establish a clubhouse in Tampa to help keep Fenrir in the club. They discover some disturbing facts about Amanda's death. This story arc appears to be quite sinister. The story ends with loose tendrils that will probably be addressed in future stories. I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger since Fenrir and Charm do get to their HEA.

Wonderful start to an intense series! Fenrir is the VP of nomad motorcycle club, he and his ex, Amanda have three kids together. They may not be together anymore but they still remain best friends, so when the news of her death gets back to Fenrir he instantly hops on the plane to be there for his kids. Fenrir and his MC brothers decide to give up the nomad lifestyle and settle down. While tending to his kids Charm has been a lifesaver and the one constant in his kid’s lives aside from Amanda. Charm is a fiery redhead with the personality to go with her red hair. Can the two of them get the kids through a horrific tragedy? Will sparks fly between Charm and Fenrir?
Soren (Fenrir) is a Jonas biked made to return to take care of his kids after his ex-wife is killed. There he meets Charm the neighbor and good friend of Amanda's. All said and done they get together, at the end there is a fire at her spa.
If the next book is in regards to the same couple I won't give it a try as I don't do same couple spread out in several books.
This was such a good! Suspenseful yet, spicy! The chemistry between Fenir and Charm is so sexy! I was hooked from the very beginning. I do wish it didn’t end on a cliffhanger but that’s just personal opinion!.

There is no major conflict in the book, maybe it’ll come in the next one cuz I ended with a cliff hanger... editing needs to happen, as I read a review earlier, He changed into short and the next he was wearing a shirt and pants... but I really liked the characters and wanted more. Want to know more about Charms belief about death, unless I missed it? Can’t wait until I get the next book.
So many inconsistencies- the story had potential but the author sent us a story that needed to be edited. I won’t say anything about the lack of proofing as this is an arc but there are many that I hope will be fixed. Just not used to getting it in such sloppy shape. I’ve done many reviews for this author, but this one left me frustrated. Many times you would read one thing and in the next breath something else. It was frustrating. This is the first book in the author’s Raiders of Valhalla MC series. The story is about Fenrir and Charm. Fenrir just lost his ex and heads back toTallahassee to be with his children. He is not looking for a partner, and he has one thing on his mind to take care of his children. Charm has been through so much. Her mother is narcissistic piece of work. As well, her best friend next door just passed away, and Fenrir just showed up to take care of the children and Charm doesn’t think much of him. She is beyond upset with him and thinks he needs to learn a lesson.

Raiders of Valhalla MC is a new series and let me tell you, this is a must read. So when I was reading about the raiders, I learned that they are like a nomad clan. They really do not have a place call home. They like to be on the road and not stay in one place. So let us meet Fenrir aka Soren and he loves the mc life. Now he did have a woman but it did not work out for them. But they remained friends and not just for the kids sake but because they do care for each other in their own way. Then one night Fenrir got a call that changed his life. Not just his life but the clubs as well. So when Fenrir meets his neighbor something stirs inside him. He only fights this feeling for a little bit due the circumstances. Charm, she is a free spirit as well. She is sweet, nice and caring. She also doesn't put up with being rude. Watch out because you will regret being rude to her. However her sweetness can be evil but soo funny. This is a good start to a new series and be prepared to be left hanging. I cannot wait to see where this series go and find out more about Fenrir and Charm.
I’ve been pretty pumped to read Fenrir and Charm’s story. The synopsis is fresh and interesting and I was really looking forward to it. That being said, the book fell short for me. The plot was a bit disjointed in places and didn’t flow as well as I’m used to from Knox and Land. The chemistry wasn’t really there between the two MCs either. They seemed better off as friends or at least that was how I felt. There were some continuity errors and while they weren’t huge, it was enough that it pulled me from the story to backtrack and check if I read something incorrectly. With this book being first in the series I knew we would have some world building, so I’m hoping that things run smoother in the next books. This book almost felt like a prequel and it ended with a weird almost cliffhanger. Holding out hope that the series makes me fall in love with this couple because I love Elizabeth Knox and E.C. Land’s work.

I'm confused. Is this book even done? It cuts off abruptly with no real ending. There's no confirmed HEA. They never say they love each other. It just stops. It's so odd. I've never read a book that ended like this. Seriously, it's weird. Is it to be continued? Do they get another book? It's really confusing and I'm not sure what is going on. The ending overshadows everything else I feel about the book right now. I liked it and I liked both main characters, and it set up well for a new MC location and series, but there were grammatical issues, things that didn't quite make sense to me, and a cliffhanger.
Fenrir and Charm. Soren and Charmaine. Soren and Amanda. The Raiders are nomad riders. Amanda is Sorens ex. They use to be on the road together but when she had their first son she couldn’t be on the road constantly any longer so she stayed behind in the house his father left him and then she decided Soren wasn’t enough, she wanted more stable so they ended on good note and saw one another when he was in town hence another son and daughter. Charm is her next door neighbor and they have been friends for a couple years. Fenrir is called while on the road and asked to come back that his ex was hit by a drunk driver and died. When he gets home Charm calls him Soren and angrily tells her Fenrir only family calls him Soren....ooookkkk she says my name is Charmaine but people call me Charm. They dont get along at first. He sees pictures of Charm his ex and his kids when they are young and he realizes that she is a part of their lives. After the funeral he sees how delighted the kids are to see Charm and decides to make things right. Hes starting to have feeling for her. Charm has her own demons. She lived with her grandmother till she died and her mother is a greedy shellfish mean person who gives Charm grief. Charm takes him "special" brownies and brownies for the kids. He invites her to a bbq they are having that afternoon, main reason for bbq with brothers is to talk about the satellite club, that’s a place they can come and stay when in town. When his brothers get there they ask who’s this and that kick starts his protective and possessive feelings and when he introduces her he tells them "Minn" and WTH. It means mine in Nordic and not knowing why he said it because he never did it with Amanda and now hes about to have a panic attack. That’s when the "special" brownies kick in ... LOL Hilarious ... Special just for a$$holes but didn’t mean for his brothers to eat them also.....LOL. OMG hes so angry and WTH did they all eat. Its been a couple weeks since the "special brownie" incident and he and Charm haven’t spoke much even though she’s been at the house everyday with the kids. He has his brothers looking into the crash that killed Amanda because he needs to know who the drunk was driving the semi that caused the crash just doesn’t feel right. While at the zoo he gets the call from his brothers to come they have him and when he leaves he says Thanks Baby...WTH...just came out. Sure enough the accident was an accident but Amanda was targeted they wanted her out of the way. While hes taking care of business Charm has the kids to the zoo and then to the park where they are having an adoptive moment and they are introduced to Beowulf an Akita who loves the kids as much as they him and Astrid says hes Viking just like dad. Well they just another member to the family. She thinks she’s in so much trouble. When Fen gets home and asks what is that Charm explains that they wanted to go to the park and then there was an adoption going on and then they fell in love with each other and then they said could be the only dog in the family making him perfect for our family...WTH she slipped too with "our family". That only makes Fenrir smile. He asks her to stay for a drink that night and they kiss and shes shocked and turns and runs. He confronts her and she says they cant do this Amanda was her best friend and you were her man. That was in the past and they kiss and while making out she tells him she doesnt want to be just someone who he takes one time and he wants to know why bring this up now and she says Amanda told me about club bunnies and such and I dont want you to think Im someone you can just roll in. He takes her hard and says I dont roll in and you are someone I can feel about parking it in. Hes never felt like this before. He has to get back to the kids and asks her to come with. She doesnt want to intrude. He says not intruding no worries about the bed had all replaced no worries about the kids Im telling them about us but if not come tonight be there tomorrow for breakfast. She wakes to banging on her door. Its her mom and she needs money. Her mom is up set about her grandmothers Will that she didn’t get much money. Shockingly she hears She needs 6000. Her mom gets violent and Fenrir has to pull her off Charm and Charm has to tell her mom not to talk to him that way hes her boyfriend and then she tells her mom to get out of her house. He yells this woman is my Old Lady and kisses her in front of his brothers and her mother. Of course this is sentences here and there about their story you will have to read the book to fill in the blanks and let me tell you this is a great story for the beginning to the Raiders. I do wish it would say why Fenrir didn’t trust the old babysitter Freya and why Amanda was targeted and why Charms mom needs 6000. Message about Amanda and the Corrupt Kings MC. The Kings are after us because of our alliance with the two clubs they are targeting. Yes and they went after Amanda because of you and dont know who told them about yall couldnt be one of the brothers so it had to be someone from the outside. Ohhhkkk this makes me think Freya has something to do with this or maybe even her mother.......Intresting. Fenrir and Charm has a HFN until the next Raiders story. When this book ends Charm finds a missed message from Amanda on the day she dies. She hears it all and then the Spas security company calls about a fire and ------- OMG such a great beginning to this series.

Another reviewer said she had to go back to see if she missed something because it ended so abruptly, lmao I did the same thing. No this book has/had potential even with the mistakes (i.e. she's in a robe meets the guy for the thousandth time, they decide to go to breakfast but she just need to grab her bag, not put on clothes smh)but fell/falls short. I like both these authors but I hope the rest of the series is better. If I had to do over I wouldn't have read this book but people do what you will and have fun doing it.🙋🏽♀️
"Malicious," the first book in the "Raiders of Valhalla MC" series by Elizabeth Knox and EC Land, isn't your typical biker story. It's a raw and emotional journey that punches you right in the gut and leaves you clinging to the hope that emerges from the ashes of tragedy.
Fenrir, the vice president of the Nomads chapter, is living the life he's always known – on the road, free and untethered. But his world crumbles when he receives the news that shatters his heart: Amanda, his ex-wife, is gone. Now, Fenrir faces the unthinkable – returning home to his three children, the weight of grief heavy on his shoulders.
Breaking the news to his sons is one thing, but explaining the loss of their mother to his innocent daughter feels like an impossible task. Fenrir wrestles with his own pain while trying to shield his children, creating a palpable tension that hangs heavy in the air.
Enter Charm, a neighbor with a sharp tongue and a heart of gold. Drawn into Fenrir's orbit during this time of crisis, she becomes an unexpected source of strength and support. Despite their initial clashes, a connection sparks between them, a flicker of hope amidst the darkness.
As they navigate the complexities of grief and learn to coexist, Fenrir and Charm discover a bond they never expected. Knox and Land masterfully weave a story that's equal parts heartbreaking and hopeful, reminding us that even in the face of immense loss, love and resilience can find a way.
The true heart of the story lies in Fenrir's children. Their portrayal is authentic and moving, adding depth and complexity to the narrative. Each character, from the hardened biker to the grieving children, feels real and relatable.
"Malicious" is more than just a biker novel; it's a powerful exploration of loss, loyalty, and the unexpected ways life throws us curveballs. It's a story that will stay with you long after you turn the last page, reminding you that even in the darkest moments, there's always a chance for redemption and hope. So, grab a box of tissues, settle in, and prepare to be swept away by this unforgettable tale.

MALICIOUS is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult RAIDERS OF VALHALLA MC erotic, romance series co-authored by EC Land and Elizabeth Knox. This is VP Soren aka Fenrir, and twenty-seven year old, spa worker Charmaine aka Charm’s story line.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Fenrir and Charm) MALICIOUS follows in the wake of the death of Fenrir’s ex-wife, leaving their children without a mother. Heading to Florida to take care of his children, Fenrir finds himself facing the woman with whom he will fall in love. Enter Charmaine, his ex-wife’s best friend and neighbor but all does not go according to plan when, from the outset, Fenrir begins to take offense to Charmaine, and his actions will be paid by the entire club. What ensues is the building relationship between Charm and Fenrir, and the potential fall-out as the club begins their own investigation into the death of Fenrir’s ex, as the consider settling down in Tallahassee Florida .
The world building is short and sweet. The Raiders of Valhalla are a group of Nomad bikers but a tight knit group of family and friends. There may be a war on the horizon when a former foe takes aim at the Raiders of Valhalla MC.
The relationship between Fenrir and Charm is quick to develop. Charm had been looking after Fenrir’s children until his return but a misunderstanding and perceived betrayal pushes our couple further apart. As their friendship then turns into something else, Fenrir will claim Charm as his own. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
We are introduced to several members of the Raiders of Valhalla MC including the club president Runes, as well as Charm’s best friend Fern, and Fenrir’s children Emil, Oskar and Astrid. Fern and Runes story is next.
MALICIOUS is a quick read; a novella length story of death and loss, betrayal and vengeance, family and friendships, relationships and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is moving and emotional ; the characters are animated and dynamic; the romance is spirited. MALICIOUS ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Soren aka Fenrir is on his way to Florida to see his ex-wife and three kids when he gets a call from his sister-in-law Ashley, informing him that his ex-wife Amanda was killed that day in a head-on collision with a truck. Although he and Amanda may no longer have been married, he still had feelings for her and his kids. Fenrir has been a Nomad (traveling biker) for years and never settled down in one place, but now he's going to have to in order to take care of his kids, Oskar, Emil and Astrid. Until he gets to Florida, he asks Amanda's neighbor, Charmaine (Charm) to watch them, and she gladly does so, as she has gotten as close to the kids as any relative would. Unfortunately, Fenrir doesn't make a very good first impression on Charm once he arrives, but under the circumstances, she tries to be understanding.
Thus begins the enemies-to-lovers romance between Fenrir and Charm.
While Charm tries to stay close to the kids to help them adjust, Fenrir is conflicted over her presence. At times he resents her interference, but at other times, he is grateful for her help. And along the way he's struggling with these conflicting emotions; especially when Charm stands up to him when he gets upset with her for something she told Astrid. What's he going to do? And there will be other conflicts for Fenrir to deal with, with his MC. Come along for the ride, but be careful. You might find yourself falling in love with the whole MC.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I love this first book in the Raiders of Valhalla series by E.C. Land and Elizabeth Knox. Fenrir (Soren) is the VP of the MC. They are Nomads. He gets called to Florida because of the death of the mother of his kids, Amanda. Fenrir is the name of a giant wolf in Norse mythology which is kind of fitting. He was always told by his Dad was a descent of the Vikings as a way of explaining the need to wander.
Charmaine (Charm) is a next door neighbor and was great friends with Amanda. She loves the kids as her own and they love her. Charm is eccentric, wears crystals and has bright red hair. She's not someone that Fenrir usually notices but he does. Amanda had told him about Charm and wanted them to meet. Charm initially feels guilty but gets over it.
Charm is quirky and stands up to Fenrir. Her vengeance ends up spilling over to the other brothers. She gets him good! Fenrir has feelings for Charm before he can even put a name on his feelings. It is interesting watching him transform. All of the brothers seem set to change as they go from Nomads to having a clubhouse they can call home. This story sets a lot up for future storylines. It is revealed that there is more to Amanda's death than is originally thought - suspense, romance and action all rolled into one. I can't wait to see where this goes.
Fenrir - Nomad of the Valhalla MC (VP). Not a person who can stay in one place for a long time. Hence the movement with the Valhalla MC. Fenrir road name - birth name Soren.
Charm (Charmaine) neighbour to Fenrir’s family home, residence for his children & their mother. An almost free spirit is Charm, who also looked after her ailing Grandmother. Hence, neighbours with Fenrir.
A sad intro. Life as an MC has requirements an ol’ lady needs to make a choice on which path they take. With their MC partner or alone with their offspring. Doesn’t mean emotions are ended. This is the life of Fenrir & Amanda. Sadly Amanda’s life is taken from her. How will Fenrir manage life with his 3 children? The loss of someone important can devastate those close to them. It will be a struggle for the innocent left behind. Sadly, this is how life really is. Elizabeth has bought forth the emotional side within this read.
There is also a hilarious side to the read. Charm, does her namesake justice. Quirky, witty & sexually appealing. Her antics with Fenrir and the MC were entertaining. Trying not to imagine the MC men defecating was a struggle. There is more to come as this was the foundation to the Valhalla MC placing roots in Fenrir’s hometown but also seeking answers to whom killed Amanda, but also what is instore for them now and for those close to them. Not quite a cliffhanger, but an opening leading into the next read - Sinister.
Malicious is Book 1 of the Raiders of Valhalla MC series. It's a short and steamy, OTT, instalust, opposites-attract, girl gets her biker romance. Fenrir is a hunky, grumpy, morally gray, nomadic biker with a heart of gold. He is the VP to the Raiders of Vahalla MC group that travels around. When he gets a call that the mother of his children, Amanda, has been killed in a car accident, he knows he needs to go to take care of his three kids in Tallahassee. He and Amanda were great friends. They just couldn't make the relationship work with Fenrir's chosen lifestyle. Charm is a sassy, feisty girl, also with a heart of gold, that stays with Amanda's kids until Fenrir arrives. She was also one of Amanda's best friends and neighbors, and the kids are comfortable with her.
When Fenrir and his brothers arrive, the initial meeting between the two is not great, but as they spend more time together, it shifts. Their snarky and flirty banter is hysterical. I about died after the "magic brownie" incident. It was hysterical.
The chemistry between these two is pure fire, but what happens when Fenrir's past comes back to haunt him? Can Charm be his saving grace?
I love this couple, but we do end on a cliffhanger. It was so good, but now I have to binge read the rest of the series.

I want to start by saying I have read many of E.C. Land's MC book series, and have enjoyed them. I came across the Raiders of Valhalla series and thought I would give it a read. Because of the length, I knew it was going to be fast paced, but I felt the editor and authors needed to go back and slowly reread the book and fix the inconsistencies. For example, Fenrir leaves his house in shorts but no shirt and when he and Charm start to become amorous, she removes his shirt. What? There are areas where the authors' thoughts don't seem complete prior to moving to the next character action. For example, Charm is making burgers for everyone, Fenrir enters the house, they discuss the dog and the next scene is the kids are going upstairs to sleep for the night. Uh, did anyone eat? Charms mom shows up asking for money. Charm's in a robe. Fenrir introduces her to the MC members & everyone is now going out for breakfast, and Charm says let me get my purse. Uh are you going to change clothes? I had to stop several times to make sure I had read the storyline correctly. The lack of editing was disappointing, making it difficult to stay focused.
I loved reading this book about Fenrir (Malicious) and Charm. Although they meet under the most tragic of circumstances it appears they are fated to be together because Fenrir’s ex was always planning to play matchmaker for them. Even though they get off to a rocky start they have an instant attraction. As time progresses and they spend more time together they finally give in to their feelings and their relationship blossoms. Even Fenrir’s children are excited and happy with their union. The drama is just beginning as it appears Fenrir's ex was deliberately targeted but his MC must work out how and why this happened. This is the first book in a new series by EC Land and Elizabeth and it has all the requirements that I enjoy in a book, lots of drama and sizzling scenes, plus we get a great story line and get to meet many new fun characters. Another great read by two of my favourite authors that got me emotional on a few occasions. A must read! Congratulations to EC Land and Elizabeth Knox.

Fenrir is VP of Raider of Valhalla MC. He was married to Amanda but after the two sons arrived she needed roots. He visits and they still care for each other so they had a daughter. He's just made it to Arizona to an MC that asked for their help. His cell rings and it's his ex wife's sister. She lives in England and was notified that her sister was liked in an auto accident. She can't get their fast so she calls him to get to his children. So he's in his way. Charm had just inherited her grandmother's house. She's also a reiki practitioner. She's just remembering when there's a knock at her door. Two policemen have come to notify her about her neighbor's death and that the aunt has asked if she'd look after the kids till their dad gets there. The following day Fenrir arrives. He has to figure out a way to tell his kids. There is some hostile moments between Charm and him. The biggest problem is the attraction they feel towards each other. Then Fenrir discovers his ex wife's death wasn't an accident. Retribution is nigh brothers! A story with bite but also with a pinch of love.

When Fenrir who VP of the Raiders of Valhalla, gets a call in the middle of the night he knows its not good news, his ex Amanda, mother to his 3 children had been killed. Though not together they still cared for each other. Charm had recently inherited her grandmothers old home, when she finds her self looking after her late neighbours children awaiting their father to pick them up. When Fenrir and Charm first meet they don't get off to the best of starts but Fenrir soon realises what Charm means to not only his kids but to himself, all he has to do is convince Charm of his affections too. Whilst the Raiders of Valhalla have always been a nomad group, they start to think that having a base to settle once in a while won't be such a bad thing. This is well written woth a great story line that flows well and characters that steal your heart! With sassy banter laugh out loud moments, violence, drama and desires!

I listened to the audio version of this book. Fenrir gets a call from his former sister-in-law telling him that his ex-wife, and mother of his three children, has been killed in an auto accident. He hurries to make his way to her home where the next-door neighbor, Charm, has pitched in to stay with the children. His ex had insinuated that he and Charm would make a good couple, but Fenrir finds she pushes his buttons when she inserts herself into his daughter's grief. But he finds himself unable to ignore her, even when she takes her revenge on him for his attitude towards her. His club brothers are unexpectedly drawn into her retaliation scheme - and not in a good way. His pres is actually impressed with her reprisal, except for the part where he got caught up in it.
Fenrir will discover that there is more to his ex's death than a simple auto accident. He will also find out that she was right about Charm. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
