At least 80% of this book connected to my life on a daily level. Truly worth a read, and I’ll be reading it again periodically. Be warned if you are sensitive about your depression, this book hits hard.
Normal is a raw and deeply human account of a man’s inner battles, told through his own journal entries. Ledger lays bare a lifetime of suicidal thoughts, self-doubt, and emotional turmoil, yet somehow threads moments of dark humour and razor-sharp wit through the pain.
This isn’t an easy read at times it’s gut-wrenching but it’s all the more powerful for it. The honesty is brutal, the humour feels like a lifeline, and the vulnerability hits like a punch to the chest. I cried at the end, not just for the man behind the words, but for the quiet truth that so many people carry struggles that we never see.
A haunting, moving, and unexpectedly witty book that will stay with me for a long time.
I got this one as a free e-book and decided to give it a try. Personally, I really liked this one. It does hit a bit too close to home tho lol, HOWEVER, i could probably never recommend it to anyone, due to its raw nature. Very graphic and detail and should definitely not be read by whoever. I was doubting wether or not to put it on my Goodreads bc I'm scared my friends will pick it up out of curiosity. Don't, unless you know for SURE it will not cause you any harm.
WARNING THIS BOOK GOT SESTIVE CONTENT ABOUT SUCIDE
I couldn't get through the first chapter its very graphic and goes into great detail on how he was planning on comuiting subside it was a big trigger for me and would be for anyone with suicide or self harm pervious or current he describes his depression as a2nd person telling hom to do this telling him he worthless evt I just couldn't finish due to the way it was written
