Nick Askew is an American sci-fi/fantasy author, who grew up in Colorado, where he learned in first grade how much he loved to tell stories when he wrote a Gremlins fanfic about mice. He has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado and has worked in several related fields, before discovering his true passion for creative writing and finding new worlds and characters to explore.
He currently lives in San Diego, CA with his family and snicklefritz kitty Audrey. Nick is an avid TV fan, loves to write, and is always down to read a good fantasy epic. He is also a fitness fanatic when not nursing a broken toe or a torn chest muscle. Perhaps he is too clumsy to be a fanatic.
His debut novel, Ensoulment, is releasing in September 2020. It is Book one of an epic LGBT fantasy series that is a blend of sci-fi, romance, fantasy and horror.

dnf for now don't hate me xx, I need something light rm with everything happening in this country (it's the mfing crazy) but I know it's going to great when I can handle it.
Here I find myself once again, in a novel world so enthralling it's hard to find my way back out after turning the last page. There is no sophomore slump to be found here. If anything, I found Preformation more compelling. We the readers get more answers, illuminating truths well hidden in the chapters of Ensoulment, details I overlooked. The world is fleshed out, laying the foundations for complex character growth and allowing space to ask tough questions, and the most important thing about books that ask the tough questions is having an author with the fortitude not to dole out easy answers. As with his debut, I thoroughly enjoyed designing the cover and applaud the author's continued efforts to spin a unique story, populated with diverse characters, and illustrated with intentional, stylish flare. I'm on the edge of my seat awaiting the conclusion!
A+ for a slam dunk LGBTQ+ fantasy story with Asian representation that not only doesn't other us, but doesn't fall victim to stereotypical characterization and descriptions. I can't wait to see how this trilogy will conclude.
I really like this book. I enjoyed the first in the series a lot but the second one felt like it had really clear direction and I loved the cliffhanger. Great pacing and character development. Can’t wait for the third!
