Diplomatic Security Service agent Brian Mullaney wants out. He's been drawn against his will into a dangerous international mission with world-ending implications--and his final assignment is going to pit him directly against the terrifying, evil entity known only as the Turk.
But when the Turk's minions breach the US embassy in Israel and the American ambassador disappears, Mullaney has no choice. He must accept his role as the final guardian of a mysterious box, his only weapon against the powers of darkness bent on preventing the second coming of the Messiah, no matter who or what they annihilate to accomplish their goal. Can this man who's already lost so much find the strength and faith to save the world--and fulfill the prophecy of peace?
The final volume of the Empires of Armageddon trilogy will have fans of Joel Rosenberg, Ronie Kendig, and Frank Peretti on the edge of their seats up to the final page.
This incredible story grabs your attention immediately and it doesn't let go! Ottoman Dominion is filled with intriguing characters, breathtaking action, and a very strong faith element that focuses on both prophecy and spiritual warfare. There are a lot of characters and numerous locations but author Terry Brennan graciously offers headings to help readers to keep it all straight.
If you enjoy Christian fiction filled with history, suspense, and political drama, this is the book for you. Ottoman Dominion is mesmerizing entertainment that chronicles the battle of good versus evil and reminds us that spiritual warfare is very real. It also prompts us to reflect on our own spiritual beliefs!
I received a copy of this book from the author via the Read with Audra blogger program. There was no obligation for a favorable review and no compensation was given. These are my own opinions.
Note: I received a free copy of this book from the Publisher in return for my honest opinion.
I have enjoyed reading and reviewing the first two books in the Empires of Armageddon series and was eagerly awaiting Ottoman Dominion. I really wanted to know what happened at the end of Persian Betrayal! What happened to everyone when the Turk reached his power out from Turkey to Israel? How did they react to the earthquakes? Well, in the opening pages, we read of the immediate actions of the main characters.
I really appreciate the fact that the author, Terry Brennan, provides a map and cast of characters in the beginning of the book and throughout each new section is headed with the location, date, and time so you can easily follow the plotline. Of course, after reading two books, I didn't really need the map or cast of characters. I felt like I knew all the people and locales.
Another part of the book that I appreciated was that throughout the whole book we see the strong faith of the main characters - Brian and Atticus. They pause in some of those dangerous situations to ask God to watch over them and guide them in their decisions and actions. The very words spoken by the characters are ones that I have found myself saying to God as well.
I would recommend Ottoman Dominion to those who enjoy Christian books, suspense, and political fiction. All three books are well-written and enjoyable.
This has to be my favorite book in the series. I love how this story is concluded. This was definitely a book I did not want to put down. I loved the choice of good and evil. I love how this was placed around the troubles in the Middle East and worked around diplomats. It is nice to think that there are some good people that work in politics. There are many twists and turns. I love how this story ends. I received a copy of this book from the read with Audra blogger program for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
I am not one who normally reads Suspense Genre, but Terry Brennan is such a FANTASTIC writer, that I do enjoy his books.
Brian Mullaney, a Security Service Agent, is about to embark on his final assignment. His final assignment matches him against and evil person, Turk. Things get suspenseful when Turk's "people" breach the US Embassy in Israel, and Mullaney must step up his role. He becomes guardian of a "Mysterious Box." Will Mullaney succeed at his final assignment?
I have been "not so patiently" awaiting this book, the 3rd in the Trilogy and I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed the many twists and turns in this book. Ottoman Dominion is a good Stand Alone book, but I highly suggest reading the first 2 in the Trilogy. The Entire Trilogy is AMAZING!
Deb’s Dozen: We aren’t fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but powers of the unseen world.
Ottoman Dominion is the final book in the Empires of Armageddon series by Terry Brennan. This series embodies Ephesians 6:12, giving substance to the battles Christianity fights against the power of evil. A series about prophecies of the Vilna Gaon: the first of which came true; the second a product of the author’s imagination, thank goodness.
Knowing revelation of the prophecy would mean defeat, the creature known only as The Turk takes over the body of the prime minister of Turkey to wreak havoc on the American embassy in Israel and the ambassador’s residence. He must obtain the box and the prophecy, or he loses the battle and his power. Then Messiah comes again.
The players from the first two books, Ambassador Cleveland and Brian Mullaney, play huge roles in this book as well. The third member of the triumvirate, Tommy Hernandez, lost his life in book two. They labor against the machinations of Noah Webster, the US Deputy Secretary of State, who covets power and more power and will stoop to nothing to attain that power. And, unknown to them, Cleveland and Mullaney labor against the authorities of the unseen world.
But heaven favors them—and the mighty angels of heaven fight on their behalf. Not only are their human battles occurring, but heavenly battles as well. Mullaney has been made the guardian of the box and the prophecy and has no choice but to serve that role after Cleveland disappears. And heaven’s power narrowly overcomes the power of evil . Bloody battles, technology of the latest design, people and powers operating for their own benefit, murder and mayhem permeate the pages of Ottoman Dominion. The ending is predictable, but the manner in which they arrive at the conclusion is both bloody and beautiful. Four stars for this book and the series.
“The LORD bless you and keep you, the LORD make his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you, the LORD lift up his countenance on you, and give you peace.”
About the Author
Terry Brennan is the award-winning author of The Jerusalem Prophecies as well as this series. He also led a Pulitzer-prize winning journalism team. He is married to Andrea, and they have a daughter, Meghan.
Kregel Publications gave me a copy of Ottoman Dominion but in no way required me to write a review.
Ottoman Dominion is. at its core, a story of two kingdoms in conflict: the kingdom of God, the perfect and eternal creator of all things and the kingdom of Satan, a rebel and liar who, from the very beginning, has tried to usurp God and His throne. Therein lies the main difference between the nature and character of the two kingdoms: how they internally work and what motivates their actions.
When we last left the series (at the close of Persian Betrayal), there were two localized earthquakes of nefarious, supernatural origins. One was under the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the other was under the residence of Atticus Cleveland (the Ambassador to Israel), who lived a short distance away. The earthquakes were nefarious in nature because that were caused by a mysterious, demon-like creature called the Turk who used ungodly spiritual forces to wreak havoc with the intent of retrieving the box of power and destroying the Gaon’s second prophecy.
Ottoman Dominion picks up where Persian Betrayal left off. This story focuses on what happens in the aftermath of the two earthquakes and the attack by the Disciples on both locations. Who survives? Does the box of power fall into the hands of the evil Disciples? Does good or evil triumph? What about the nuclear weapons? These are just a few of the questions that had me hanging on the edge of my seat!
Terry Brennan is a master at creating complex plots filled with international intrigue and apocalyptic overtones and filling them with characters that you grow to know and love. He is skilled at nailing the human condition in both redeemed and unredeemed individuals, providing readers with both non-stop action and moments of prayer and poignant pause, and drawing major works to satisfying conclusions.
Ottoman Dominion and the entire Empires of Armageddon series was a joy to read because of the engaging way that the story took us outside of our ordinary lives and immersed us so fully and skillfully in a different reality.

I will say from the outset this is my sort of read! Full of intrigue, action, edge of your seat suspense, political conspiracies, historical theories and fiction, the tinderbox of the Middle East and the active involvement of angels and demons. This has it all.
Written in very short, sharp scenes I actually struggled at first to catch up, to understand what was going on. This surprised me having read the first two in the series relatively recently but there seemed to be too many players and too many separate plot points that had me rolling my eyes a little. But after about 50 pages, everything fell back into place and I settled in for the ride. The pages began turning very quickly.
There are so many elements to like in this story, yes, Brennan uses fictional licence which may bother some readers when it comes to the supernatural but I like how he used the 'thin veil' and the roles both Bayard (the angelic warrior) and the Turk (the Man of Violence) played. His cast of characters were all developed across the three stories with particular emphasis in the final instalment on Brian Mullaney and Atticus Cleveland. Some of the supporting cast were tremendously depicted: Father Poppy and Rabbi Herzeg being two very engaging characters.
Brennan wraps the series up well bringing all the moving pieces together like a master story conductor. I'm wondering if he's left a few crumbs that may form the basis of a spin-off but that's for us all to ponder.
Congratulations, Terry Brennan. May I encourage any new readers to start with Book 1 in the series, as the backstories and action builds from it. And now the 3 are available, may I also encourage you to read all three with minimal breaks between them so you don't spent too much time in 'catch up mode' at the beginning of the next one.
I received a complimentary copy from Kregel as a result of being a member of the Audra Reads program via NetGalley with no expectation of a positive review.
The is the third novel in Brennan's end times series. There is quite a bit of back story and other explanations included so it could be read on its own. The plot is quite complex as there are many major threads to it. There is the spiritual aspect. There are some who desire to revive the Ottoman empire. Others want to establish an Islamic Caliphate. And then there is a U.S. politician who is working toward political power and vast wealth.
The plot is so complex, in the denouement, Mullaney wonders if the whole thing would ever be figured out with a reply of probably not. (Loc 4819/5138) That helped me feel better because I am not sure I figured it all out either.
There is plenty of action in this novel with many gun fights. The narrative frequently jumps from location to location, from conflict to conflict, as the action progresses. The action is interspersed with background story and informative details about the location or facts of history. Every time a new character is introduced, Brennan gives several paragraphs of information about him or her. At times the revelation of information seems forced, such as through dialogue.
The novel contains good insights on spiritual warfare and actions the enemy might attempt to prevent prophecy from being fulfilled, ushering in Christ's return. There are appearances by angelic beings so there is a definite spiritual aspect to the conflict involved. You'll learn about the Diplomatic Security Service and the Aaronic blessing. You'll experience lots of international action too.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Read With Audra. My comments are an independent and honest review.
This book is the last of of series called “Empires of Armageddon” and what a finish it was! In this review, I’m not giving away any details of the book. My recommendation would be that you read each of these books in order as the stories flow seamlessly one into the other. I’ve read each one as they were published separately, and I envy those of you who have the opportunity to read this series without waiting for the next book to be published.
Terry Brennan did a fantastic job with this series. I think these stories are of the same quality of writing as both Frank Peretti’s and Joel Rosenberg’s “spiritual warfare/end of days” series. The suspense and action in this series is just as heart-pounding as those mentioned above, maybe even more so. (Seriously—the climatic ending of this book had my heart pounding for awhile after I finished it.)
Although I’ve loved the storylines of suspense and seeing the spiritual warfare/earthly struggles points of view, it’s been the characters that have kept my attention throughout this series. I especially wanted to see how Brian Mullaney’s story would conclude, and it was everything and more than I hoped for. I loved this author’s reverence and respect for the mighty power of Jesus. If you like this “end of days” type of fiction, you’ll want to read this series.
I’m not in this review doing a critique of end times theology. I’m simply recommending this series as as thrilling and suspenseful reading.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
I hope you have read the first two books in this series. If not, stop here and go read them. They are a must in order to follow the storyline and not miss out on any details. The author is incredible at delivering high tech super charged action . The chapters seem a bit short but they are increasingly intense.
The story is set in Israel and I found the details to be accurate as the author weaves a tale of espionage and a character I have come to really like. Brian is a dedicated Secret Service agent but he feels it’s time to depart that roll. It won’t be easy to slip away from the secrets , lies, and enemies that he has encountered. I think what I liked most about the book was that it moved quickly and didn’t get bogged down with unnecessary details. I loved how the author takes a story and peels apart the outer layer so we can see the real nitty gritty of a sabotage in action.
I won’t say much about what the story is about but I will say it will be one that calls for spiritual warfare. Yes there is evil out there and our story centers on someone who can’t be trusted within the walls of the White House. I did have a little trouble trying to keep up with everything going on as there were plots within plots that eventually all came together. Keep on your toes as you read this powerful story that satisfies those who love action, intrigue and a spiritual overtone.
I received a copy of this book from Read With Audra. The review is my own opinion.
The Ottoman Dominion is the third in the thrilling Empire of Armageddon series that certainly sets the stage for an awesome battle between good and bad. Like it's predecessors, this is written in short, action filled (mostly) segments that jump from place to place and character to character. No worries though, the place and the time is named before each section. I was not sure how I would like that, but throughout the series, I have enjoyed that type of storytelling. It makes the reading more intense.
This is the third in the series so I would personally recommend reading the whole series. There is a lot going on, plenty of detail, a whole host of characters, and some pretty neat history to delve into. This story also picks up right after the events of the Persian Betrayal.
As always I appreciate the author's notes in the back. And author Brennan's notes are just as fascinating as his imaginative story. If you are lookin for something a little different- political intrigue, supernatural entities, end of the world scenarios- then this series would be a good one to pick up.
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher through Read with Audra. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
Terry Brennan had me hooked from the first book (Ishmael Covenant) to the last page of the third (Ottomon Dominion)! (And of course all through Persian Betrayal) I enjoyed this series so much!
Book #3 picks up right where book #2 (Persian Betrayal) left off! Brian is a diplomatic security agent trying his best to make his way from Israel back home to his wife and daughters. Unfortunately all around him are forces at work to keep him right where he is! Brian is part of the group protecting the Ambassador, Jospeh, while in Israel. Both are Christians and reading the signs around them and seeing the evil forces at work
Terry writes fast paced books with enough detail to make you feel like you are a part of the story, but not too much to lose your attention. I loved the characters from the series, they felt real and relatable as well as extremely likable. Much of the story connects to current events and actual prophesy from the Bible which make everything even more exciting and interesting!
This book is filled with suspense, political drama and lots of tense page turning scenes! I highly recommend this series, I thoroughly enjoyed all the aspects of the story, and I look forward to reading more work by Terry Brennan!
NOTE : I received a copy of the Ottoman Empire in exchange for an honest review.
Book two left the reader hanging, and I have been looking forward to this third and last book in this series. And the wait was worth it.
Ottoman Dominion takes up right where Persian Betrayal left off, and plunges right back into the action and intrigue. There is a lot going on in this book, and the reader is bounced around a lot from one location to another. Since the author always identifies the location along with the date and time, it is easy to keep track what is going on and where.
Brian Mullaney has been the main character throughout this series, and remained so in this book. I like the fact that a whole trilogy centered on one main character and you get to like him and the author has plenty of time to develop the character. He faced a lot more danger in this book due to his new duties passed on to him in the last book.
I really don't know much about what ambassadors do, or what the head of their security team might do, but the author did an excellent job of portraying what they might entail...I am sure after a lot of research. This book tied everything up and showed what a powder keg that area of the world is, and how important Israel and her wellbeing is.
The ending was quite calm, and I loved the way the author ended the book.
This whole series was a fascinating read, and I was not just entertained, but I learned a lot. This book especially was hard to put down, and I did read it in one sitting. With breaks of course. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys political intrigue with suspense. The books do need to be read in order.
I was provided a copy of this book for review purposes. All opinions in this review are my own.
Ottoman Dominion by Terry Brennan Independent Publishers Group Kregel Publications Christian | Mystery & Thrillers Pub Date 17 Nov 2020
I am reviewing a copy of Ottoman Dominion through Independent Publishers Group/ Kregel and Netgalley:
Brian Mullaney is a diplomatic security agent who wants out. He has been drawn against his will into a dangerous international mission with world-ending implications. His final assignment is going to pit him against the terrifying, evil entity known only as the Turk.
After the Turk's minions breach the US embassy in Israel and the American ambassador disappears, Mullaney has no choice. He must accept his role as the final guardian of a mysterious box, the box is his only weapon against the powers of darkness bent on preventing the second coming of the Messiah, no matter who or what they annihilate to accomplish their goal.
Will Brian Mullaney who has already lost so much be able to find the strength and faith to save the world and fulfill the prophecy of peace?
The third and last installment in the Empires of Armageddon series, "Ottoman Dominion", concludes with a heart-pounding series of action scenes that don't let up until the end. As chaos ensues in the Middle East, the mysterious box reveals its true importance.
The previous two books set the scene, but "Ottoman Dominion" is filled with back-to-back action scenes and fast-paced adventure as the race to save the world begins. This was the best book in the series because it moved quickly and the excitement the other two books built up comes to a tense conclusion. Terry Brennan's plot was complex and makes you think about the mix of politics and religion that sets the stage for the end times.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Kregel Publications through Audra Jennings PR. I was not required to write a review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
Ottoman Dominion, book #3 in the Empires of Armageddon, is by far the most enjoyable and exciting read of the three books in this series. The first two books were difficult to follow and comprehend because of the extremely convoluted political, religious, and overt intrigue involving several nations and the belief systems of each.
Being more familiar with the main characters, I was able to follow this fast paced thriller as the series is brought to a conclusion. The spiritual realm that is heavily involved in this series, and particularly in book #3, is daunting, frightening, and gives one a feeling of awe for the spiritual warfare being waged.
I highly recommend this series, but caution that it might be a convoluted read, might take you to spiritual thought of which you are not familiar, and will definitely give you a drive to consider the news in an entirely different perspective.
DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, alone and are freely given,
In this final installment of the Empires of Armageddon, Terry Brennan doesn't take his foot off the gas as he wraps up the mystery and intrigue from DC to Israel. Although I had to pay extra attention to the characters and what was going on as scenes changed quickly, I was just as engaged with Ottoman Dominion as with the others. What sets this series apart and makes it memorable is the supernatural element. Brennan crafts that component natrually into the intrigue and political suspense.
I also enjoyed the family stakes. Would Mullaney be reunited with his family? What about his father-in-law? Again, all of it is naturally woven into the action.
I do think reading the other books in the series is necessary, and so worth it.
Ottoman Dominion is a satisfying conclusion to a memorable, action-packed series. I definitely recommend.
I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Ottoman Dominion, the third and final book in Terry Brennan’s Empires of Armageddon series, is the best one yet and definitely worth the wait. Anxious readers finally have all the answers to the Gaon’s mysterious messages, as well as who, what, why, and how.
The books are best enjoyed as a series. Although Ottoman Dominion can certainly stand alone, readers who have not read the first two novels might find themselves with questions. The quantity of characters can be difficult to keep track of, so the Cast of Characters found on page nine comes in quite handy.
Brennan’s insight into the spiritual realm is both fascinating and unnerving, a definite page turner. Ottoman Dominion will keep readers on the edge of their seats, ready to find out what happens next.
***The publisher provided a free book. However, all opinions included in this review are entirely my own.
Ottoman Dominion is the third book in the Empires of Armageddon Series by Terri Brennan. This series is well worth the time it takes to read it. I must admit, especially at the beginning of the first book, I had a lot of trouble following all of the action. I kept reading because I felt compelled to read!
I am not very familiar with the Middle East and the politics of it. Nor am I familiar with the history of the Middle East beyond what I've read in the Bible. I do know a little bit about the Muslim faith and its origins, but not enough to really open this up to me. Fortunately, Mr. Brennan realizes that most of us are not experts in this type of thing. He does a wonderful job of explaining the political culture, the social structure, and the religious culture of the area.
When Abraham messed up with Ishmael and Isaac, he really messed up. So much goes back to the ancient empires and ancient rivalries of the people groups.
I cannot tell you how many times I was reading this action-packed series and finding myself thinking that it would make an amazing action thriller. I know my husband would love it if he saw it in a movie or a series of movies. For my husband though, to sit down and read it, not so much.
I do think this is an excellent book series for men especially if they are interested in international intrigue or end times prophecies. Women can enjoy it as well, but for me, it was more violent than I would like to read. But still I couldn't stop reading. And I had to order the next with each time it came available. I just had to know what was going to happen next. I think that if things happened as quickly in real life as they did in these books, it would be impossible for the average human to make it through. It would just be too much.
I highly recommend this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I think Mr. Brennan has turned me into an adrenaline junkie. If you're one, this book will rev your engine.
First we have the evil Turk who wants to get his hands on the "magic" box and his even creepier "boss." There are car chases and shootouts. A disappearing ambassador. Age old prophecies. Middle East peace treaties that aren't what they seem. Plans for a shopping mall on the temple mount. And that's just a sample.
This is a stand alone read, but you should really start with Ishmael Covenant and Persian Betrayal. The three books of Empires of Armageddon are powerful books that will in the midst of all that adrenaline make you stop and think.
I'm looking forward to many more books by Mr. Brennan.
***Book provided without charge by Audra Jennings PR.***
Ottoman Dominion is the third installment from Terry Brennan’s series, Empires of Armageddon. I had the pleasure of reading the first books, Ishmael Covenant and Persian Betrayal . I enjoyed those two books and was excited to have the opportunity to read this one. I thought this was an awesome read. It was full of adventure, mystery, suspense, and danger. It was entertaining right from the beginning and I was intrigued all the way to the end.
Ottoman Dominion is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading the science fiction genre.
I received Ottoman Dominion from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
This book and this series made me marvel at the hand of God in the affairs of men. I saw evil rage and rage but I saw good overcome. The action, mystery, intrigue, revelations, suspense of the book was so mind-blowing and captivating. Evil was conquered and good prevailed despite the many battles. I saw how God fought to ensure his word comes to pass. I saw how mortals have a plan and purpose in the plan of God and I saw a glimpse into the future of how God from scriptures will destroy the devil and evil for good. Thankfulness welled us in my heart for God battles against powers of evil in both the natural and supernatural realms.
This series is a must read series for those who are waiting patiently and obediently for the second coming of Christ and who just love a good book.
Ottoman Dominion is an action-packed, suspenseful political thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat to the end. It's a well-written conclusion to the Empires of Armageddon trilogy.
The books in this trilogy would make great Christmas gifts for the fan of action/adventure, thriller, suspense novels, in your life.
What an exciting journey it has been, reading through the Empires of Armageddon trilogy! Full of action and suspense without overly graphic violence, each story builds on the previous - you will want to read the entire series.
I appreciated the strong emphasis on spiritual warfare and that the real enemies we face are not those of flesh and blood and they cannot be fought with carnal weapons. This message is brought home so very well.
Several of the plot twists surprised me, including Atticus Cleveland's actions! It was crazy to see all the action and realize that the events for the entire series encompass a mere two weeks.
Poppy was a delightful addition to the cast of characters. While I would love to tell you all about why he was so interesting, you'll appreciate much better discovering him for yourself.
An interesting conversation between Brian and Atticus regarding racism took place near the middle of the story. The insights shared were quite profound and I was grateful for them.
Ottoman Dominion did get a bit mired with myriad details at the beginning. So many historical facts were shared, including some from the previous stories, that it was slow going in parts. Glossing over these a bit more and then putting the details in the author's notes - or sharing in a more interesting manner would have enhanced the overall experience.
That said, lovers of suspense will enjoy the Empires of Armageddon trilogy.
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
