I absolutely enjoyed reading each & every page of this captivating dark alien romance with an “enemies to lovers” undertone. It is the fourth book in the “Reaper’s Property” series & is definitely worth reading. The story-line & plot is splendidly well-written with unique well-developed, strong-willed characters with perfectly flawed personalities & each of them has their own agendas.
It is about: brutal alien warrior (Orlak) who is inclined to be absolutely merciless & a human female assassin (Talia) quite determined to kill Orlak naturally things do not go according to her plan.
There is: a conniving Helios Combined, reapers, rebels, humans, a fated mate/jalshager, a lot of action, adventure, twists & turns, suspense, danger, threats, enemies, conflict, violence, invasions, confrontations, confusion, manipulations, blackmail, betrayal, discipline, punishment, covert plans, surprises, compromises, steamy scenes, contentment & a hard-earned, well-deserved happy conclusion.

These two write engaging stories that bring in a unique ability to transport the reader into these worlds! It is explosive what these two create! I am so in love with the Reapers! Not only do they all have heart but it shows within the pages that you get exactly what they are! They are determined and tactile but each has shown that they feel. This book takes us on a journey with Talia a Rebel leader and a Sister in the Order of the Raith ‘Pa. She is worthy and she is this reapers equal in all things; and Orlok who is a Reaper and a warrior monk that knows Talia is his mate but yet is willing to battle with her to prove his worthiness and want. This is a very pronounced visual story with lots of realistic entities that allow the reader to travel to and within this universe! Wonderfully written and one that I HIGHLY recommend!!!!

2341. Orlok, the Primus leader for the Reaper Empire and a SoulSinger. His men are watching over the crops on D’jal and dealing with a rebel uprising when humans try to destroy the desalination plant. The powerful Orlok is able to stop them and take prisoners. Among them he discovers Talia, a Sister in the Order of the Raith'Pa and an assassin, whom he recognizes as his jalshagar, the mate fated for him. They are both strong and well-suited to each other through their warrior spirits. He doesn't want a mate, tries to fight it, but the mating instinct cannot be thwarted. So instead he will make her his slave. This is the story that begins their journey to their fate, and he will fight to the death for her if anyone tries to take her from him, if only to prove to her his own worthiness.
The overall story is good and captivates the reader’s attention. There are parts (kink) that I despise and skipped over; I did not see any warning about the childish spanking and such or I would have avoided the book. I do hope authors point those things out a little better going forward. It takes a good story and ruins it for me.

This book was so well-written and I didn't want it to end. Talia, a Sister in the Order of the Raith'Pa and at the top of the rebels is a woman who is more than a match for any reaper, a fighter with a complex fighting style, a brilliant statistician and a woman of faith with a pragmatism that shows she is so much more than just a Sister of the Order. I loved Orlok, he is a SoulSinger, Primus and in charge of the planet D'jal. When the rebels attack the desalination plant, vital in keeping the crops and ultimately life, on D'jal going the Reapers manage to repel them and take prisoners. Only when the two come face to face when Talia tries to assassinate Orlok their eyes meet and he immediately recognises that she is his jalshagar. What follows is a tale of passion, submission, discovery and ultimately, and most beautifully a love and mutual respect that neither expected and along the way, plenty of action and danger to keep you on the edge of your seat.

These books just get better and better and everyone I’ve read so far keep you captivated and excited throughout there story and each couples journey is different but the same and each reaper gets the girl in the end and Talia and Orlok is no different except Talia is a sister an assassin from the order of the Raith’Pa that has just been taken as a prisoner with others after an attempt at destroying the desalination plant. Orlok is a soul singer and warrior in charge of the crops on D’jal and with the humans uprising attempt which fails he meets his fated mate Talia that he wants nothing to do with but you can’t out run fated and so he takes her as his slave and soon realizes that they both enjoy some hot spice in the bedroom which just makes her the perfect mate. This is another must read and very enjoyable.

I liked it. She is a rebel leader and she surrenders so he won't kill the other rebels. Instead he takes all of them prisoner.

The Emperor and his fated mate are expecting their first child. The hero is demoted after losing the planet Djal to the Helios Combine. He is told to teach the Reapers and other humans how to sing the Songs. And he is the greatest Birthsinger so he wants him close for when the Empress goes into labor.
This is also the first big defeat for the Reapers since they have started building their Empire, losing the planet Djal that they conquered.

Talia thinks that killing Orlok is the only way to get help from the Combine for the people of D'jal against the Reaper occupation. But she and Orlok find that they cannot harm each other because they are jalshagar. Talia thinks that the Reapers are a worse fate for the people of Donald, but she's coming to find that not only are the Reapers not the monsters they're portrayed as, but that Orlok is a mate who is noble and values her for herself and her knowledge as well. great characters and story, loved it. A great read.

It seems that fate believes Reapers need their mates but that it won’t be easy. They must claim and dominate them. But at the same time cherish them and allow them to grow. Orlok is one such reaper. He controls a planet but the rebels are becoming a nuisance. Talia will do anything to free those oppressed, even break her beliefs and assassinate the leader. The story has plenty of fighting but who is the bad guy seems to change at times. The romance will slowly build with the help of the fated mate bond. But not even the bond will stop a reaper from showing who is the master.

This is a wonderful dark love story. I love her writing I fell in love with the characters even as they were starting their journey. It has lots of action and the setting of war only sets off how wonderful their love is. To me this is more of fairy tale then any of the recognized ones. I can only hope that each person finds a love like this at least once in their life. It has all you could hope for high points and low. Action and lots of passion

Las peleas y conflictos siguen mejorando asi que me encanta, BSDM aunque sea bajo amenaza ella lo acepto bastante rapido, lo que no me gusto fue que Orlak no le importe nada ella, ni sus pensamientos y promesas, aunque eso cambia mas adelante y parece que al final era algo que ella necesitaba y en el fondo queria.
Es una pena que parezca ser el ultimo libro ya que es interesante como van peleando y expendiendo su imperio en general, tambien el cambio que se esta dando como raza en general. Y quisiera saber como seran los bebes mestizos XD

A dark story of enemies to lovers for sure- with teamwork and love in the end. Talia and Orlok are in direct opposition at the start of the story. It is satisfying to see understanding about the drive for control emerge as the story evolves. Nothing is ever truly black and white. I really enjoyed the challenges in the story plus the satisfying ending.

This one felt just a little bit darker than the other books in the Reaper Empire series. I think it’s because, in the first chapter, Orlok seems like a decent person, but then he goes and does something so unconsciously brutal and Reaper-y, that it threw me for a bit of a loop. There’s redemption though, in his love and promotion of Thalia, his mate. Another thrilling addition to the Athenaverse.

A real good sexy read

Oh my goodness, my head exploded reading this Reaper love/battle story from these two amazing authors. This story is about Talia a strong leader and Orlok a warrior reaper . He has to prove that he is good enough for her his mate. She is all he could ask for and then more. I could not put this story down.
