Hardworking Evan is proud of his maintenance job in the new apartment building in town. He’s saving up to buy a house, so his brother Matt has a place to live when he graduates from college. Matt’s trying to stay sober, and Evan wants to help him get a solid footing with a safe place to live.
Savvy real estate agent Brooke asks Evan to escort her to an event. She’s attracted to Evan, and after a pleasant date, she wants to see him again. Evan is not like the usual lawyers and businessmen she dates, and their attraction is undeniable.
But When Brooke offers to pay Evan to escort her to more events, he hesitates. He feels out of place at formal events, but he’s getting attached to the curvy brunette, and he needs the money. Can Evan learn to separate business from pleasure?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Evan, who is a maintenance worker in an apartment complex. he notices Brooke and is attracted to her, but when she comes to him with a proposition of being her escort for work functions, Evan is tempted when she offered to pay him, and since he wants to buy a house, the money would come in handy, especially since he wants to have a house for his brother to come home to. This is a really cute story similar to what you would think a reverse pretty woman would be. it has similar connotations with a work colleague who propositions Evan as well, but eventually it all works out and they go onto have a happily ever after.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
This was a cute gender switched homage to Pretty Woman (though his regular job is swanky apartment building custodian rather than s3x worker). It's a quick read with a bit more fluff than substance--the instalove is pretty strong here--but it's still entertaining and honestly, pretty perfect for summer. I do wish it was dual POV instead of just Evan's, but that's really my only complaint. (Book 2--Liam's Desire--is dual POV, FWIW.)
Rating: 4 stars / B+
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was a good quick read. Our MMC Evan is the maintenance man in a bougie apartment building. It is in this bougie building he meets our FMC Brooke. Brooke is a wealthy successful realtor who is 35. Evan is 27 so this is a little bit of a cougar sugar mama situation. She approaches Evan and asks him to be her date to a dinner party at her bosses house. This story is all about not judging a book by it's cover. The spicy scenes were decent I just felt they were a little rushed. We learn about some interesting trauma from both of the characters. Can they overcome their class difference and be happy together?
Evan works on maintenance in a near new apartment building. He meets Brooke when he is working on the fire alarms. There is an attraction between them and they have a pleasant date. Then Brooke asks Evan to be her escort for the next two weeks and offers to pay him. The money would be enough to complete his saving for a house deposit. Evan takes her up on her offer but things get serious fast. What will happen at the end of two weeks?.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved Evan and Brooke's connection and attraction in this book. Brooke is a little hesitant due to her past, but she trusts Evan and their romance flows nicely after her initial proposition. Watching Evan try to adjust to Brooke's world made for some funny scenes. I like how Brooke was wealthy and Evan was a blue-collar worker, this was a nice twist on the usual contemporary romance. I'm looking forward to more books in this series.
Just a regular guy. A dual POV format that’s not really hallmark, but it could be. Not really Pretty Woman, but it wants to be. Definitely not American Gigolo, even if it look like it. A simple favor for a pretty girl. Should be a piece of cake. What could possible go wrong. It’ll be over in the blink of an eye. If only you could wish it would last forever. It could never work, I’m just a regular guy.
This is a nice story about the good guy getting the best in life. The characters are good and believable. Evan is a militance worker at a high end condo, Brooke lives there and is a realtor of high end homes when they meet. She offers to pay him to be her escort for two weeks.
I would say this book is a modern version of Pretty Little Woman, but instead of a female escort and a male payer, it’s flipped. The male maintenance man is hired by the rich female real estate agent. Very cute quick read.
3.5 stars What an enjoyable and entertaining reversal twist on Cinderella. Excited about the slight reverse age gap as well. Truly a delightful read and I'm excited to follow the characters through this new series.
Evan is a salt-of-the-earth, honest, capable, maintenance worker at a luxury high-rise condo complex. He’s a loving brother, a loyal friend, a real Cinderfella. Real estate superstar agent Brooke lives in one of those condos, and Evan’s the kind of eye candy that interests her. She hires him to “escort” her to the black/tie professional functions she attends and the rest is a sweet, super-sexy Cinderella story - a deliciously modern recasting of the classic fairy tale as only writer Robin Stone could deliver. I loved every perfectly paced, touching minute of it, all the way to HEA.
Robin Stone's story was really, really good and I've followed her for quite awhile now. Her story was sweet with a bit of drama and heartbreak. Totally fell in love with the characters in her story!! It's usually the guy who has the money and the girl who is working to make ends meet but this is a story that is switched up! Brooke wants to pay Evan to escort her to events. He could use the money but is wondering how this will work out. Is there more going on that what he realizes? Such a good story.
