Copy received in giveaway.
This was cute but not something I'd read to my nephews. Not sure I'd even read this to the suggested audience of 12 year olds. Pretty sure this would be laughed out of the middle school library, and probably wouldn't be taken seriously be anyone above the second grade.
For content, it was cute, as I said, but it seems like the description oversells the male robin getting caught in the storm. Out of 20-some pages, the storm section highlighted like a key component of the book here lasted maybe half a page. And it's all from the point of view of the female robin who stayed at the nest. Even just following the male for a little bit as he starts dealing with and maybe even fighting against the storm could improve some things. You don't have to walk through every detail on his side, just starting it with him and then carrying that suspense over to the female's perspective as she waits would make the moment worth mentioning rather than a passing thing.
Now, that alone would result in 2 stars, but I have to deduct for one more thing: the version received. I knew going into the giveaway that this would be a Kindle version; I'm not complaining about that. What I am complaining about is that the version received was not compatible with my Kindle. This had to be read off the Kindle app - specifically on my iPad as it was too small on my phone. If you're going to give away a Kindle version, make sure that the version actually works on the Kindle.
