Shadow Academy: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Shadow Academy has many secrets… and I’m one of them.
Plucked from foster care and offered a scholarship to an elite school, I figured I had it made. But it didn’t take me long to discover how this school worked. Scholarship kids at the bottom of the heap, and way at the top, Ren Worthington. With his breath-taking good looks and bottomless pits of family money, you’d think he’d have better things to do than bully us poor kids.
Not so.
Ren and the other human students live their lives unaware of the creatures lurking in the dark. But us scholarship kids weren’t selected just for our academic skills. We’re all half-bloods and freaks - fae, witch, shifter, demon. In return for our free ride, we protect the rich brats from paranormal dangers.
I don’t want to get close to Ren, I don’t want to work with him and I sure don't want to succumb to his charms, but I have no choice. Things aren’t what they seem on the surface. Our families have a history that goes way back and the connection between us might just be the thing to save or destroy me.
Shadow Academy has many secrets… and maybe Ren is one of them.

Fun and enthralling urban fantasy

I’m a digital nomad (well I was until 2020 happened), although I hate that term because it makes me sound like a wanky hipster. Which I’m not. Okay, I am a bit snobby about coffee and I sometimes wear twee vintage dresses but that doesn’t make me a hipster.

On my travels, I love visiting weird and macabre places. Mummified hands that remove curses, museums of infectious diseases, collections of taxidermized frogs riding Penny Farthings - hell yeah!

Oh, and that profile photo isn't me, it's my rapscallion Bishon Frise called Hamish. Both of us highly motivated by treats.

This series is totally addictive !! I had every intention of reading Bk.1. Having a break to read a different book, then going back to bk.2.and so on, however that was impossible. Ok the premise of the series is about a bunch of Supernatural Scholarship Students guided by their teacher Mr.Norton who are taken on by an elite school that depends on the donations of the rest of the academy students who are all Rich and must be protected by the gang facing any attacks and they must never discover the existence of the supernatural world. Sounds simple but Kat Cotton has turned her originality and imagination with so many emotions bouncing into your soul, into a nail biting, dramatic and impressive series with plots and world building that you never question is unreal. Then add in the relationship between Cherry & Ren Worthington and you are unable to put the books down. Cherry a Scholarship kid and has always been poor like most of the rest of the group has a sudden shock when offered or ordered she wasn’t exactly sure to tutor the Rich Ren Worthington for big bangs by his father and then this turns into a more intense story for everyone. That’s it I’m not spoiling anymore of the storyline for you, but you will experience Death, Destruction, Attacks on the school, Intrigue, deception, bullying and emotional turmoil with so many secrets and lies, and twists and turns that you meet yourself coming backwards !! Honestly I couldn’t put this down, it robbed me of sleep then when I forced myself away from it the storyline was on a constant loop in my mind.....I’m worn out but it was absolutely brilliant and worthwhile. I was sad when it ended as I will definitely miss these characters. Kat Cotton the author is just completely amazing and excels in the Paranormal and fantasy books I have read. Her imagination seems endless and I just wish I could curl up inside her brain and watch the slide show of all her thoughts and stories. Until then I will have to put up the agonising wait until she publish’s her
