That means taking almost any job that comes his way, no matter the situation. So long as he can keep his ship floating, he's free to live the life he wants.
But that all changes when he meets Abigail Pryar, a nun looking for safe passage out of the system.
Too bad there's something off about the cargo she's carrying.
Jace knows he shouldn't ask too many questions, but when odd sounds start coming from inside the large, metal box, he can't help but check it out.
Big mistake.
This boxset contains the first six books of the Renegade Star series, plus a bonus prequel book: Renegade Star Renegade Atlas Renegade Moon Renegade Lost Renegade Fleet Renegade Earth Nameless: Abigail’s Story
I liked all the novels in this collection, but I must say the prequel at the end of the collection was my favorite by far. It’s the backstory of Abigail. This story captured me more thoroughly than the others in this collection, which were good, but definitely not in the same class. Something about these characters, the way it was written, was riveting. Best work by far by J.N. Chaney.
I loved all the characters and how such diverse people could become a family. Searching for a mythical Earth, the supposed origin of humanity, was an interesting concept. There were many twists and turns and constant action. It was difficult to stop reading each night because the story was so enjoyable. I'm curious about what the characters will find when they finally reach Earth.
I really need to pay attention to my purchasing habits. For some reason, I didn't realize this series was by the same author as another series I hated. And I disliked this one for the same reasons. None of the characters were likeable, and the action was boring. I will not be giving this author another chance.
This was enjoyable to read. You don't have to take it to seriously. Kind of a Guardians of the Galaxy mixed with Firefly I guess. Though I get more of a Guardians vibe than Firefly.
It's not a page turner that I couldn't put down. It was one where I could leisurely read, step away when needed, and get right back into the next time.
This series reminds me a lot of Firefly; another series that I truly love. I had thought this compilation was complete so finding out that it continues for another ten books is amazing.
Bought the boxset for 99p not having read this author before. Will definitely buy the other 8 books in this collection. Good Solid read from start to finish. Not a case of some good bits surrounded by filler. Would recommend.
This series kept me interested all the way through!! What an amazing action packed story with mystery, drama, a little love, and an amazing cast of characters! I dont want it to end!! Highly recommend!
I love quest adventures. This was fun. Great entertainment. I will miss this quest and the search for Earth. If tere is any complaint is the amount of violence. Of course, we know its not real.
This a is a very enjoyable military science fiction series. There was good characters and character development. Because I read this as a collection I didn’t get to some of the character development until the end of the series. Still very enjoyable.
Action from the opening. I like the way the childhood of Jace is put into places of the story, where it doesn't interrupt the flow and instead enhances the back story
An engaging tale. Each of the books in this set are worthy of inclusion in anyone's library. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I highly recommend this box set.
The first six books in the Renegade Star series introduce us to the main characters the renegade Jace, the ' nun' Abigail, and the child Lea and their adventures as they are chased by the Union due to the strange markings on the child that can activate advanced dormant tech. There is also the myth of Earth, the source planet for all. There are space battles, armed combat, twists, betrayals, genetic freaks, back story, slip tunnels, and a great camaraderie that makes the tale entertaining and inciteful. A highly entertaining read. Haven't read the prequel novel yet as kindle kicked me to this page before I could read it. Hopefully it will let me back in..
