Dr. Maxwell Scott is still reeling from his traumatic botched surgery, and now on top of that, he struggles with trying to get over the nurse he finds himself falling for—Lola Lozano. Meanwhile, Lola can't decide whether she forgives Max for screwing up their first date or if she is going to hold a grudge. Torn between having feelings for him and not knowing whether or not she can trust him. At the same time, Lola is also battling with helping her father accept the fact that he needs a major heart procedure to save his life. With the two of them in different cities, for the time being, Max finds himself trying to date again, but he can't stop thinking about Lola when he does. Three hours away, Lola finds herself in a similar situation where Max is all she thinks about. Now, Max realizes that he will have to face the music and deal with his screw up head-on because Lola is returning to the hospital. Reluctant to trust him again, Lola eventually comes around to giving things a second chance and tells Max that she's willing to bury the hatchet and go on a second date. Can the two figure out a way to make things work, or will the demons lurking around their relationship derail their chance for a happy ending? Find out in the next book in Pagin Doctor Sexy by Amanda Lista.

This is Dr Max and nurse Lola's story and is the second book in the Paging Doctor Sexy Series. I did not read the first copy but was able to keep up. The tension is still strong because of the initial date screw-up. But a second chance is in the works and The chemistry between Lola and Dr Max just gets more intense. He is still carrying guilt and baggage from the failed surgery. She is struggling with family issues which add to her stress. The characters are likable and draw you into their drama. The story was well written and has a good flow. It's hard to put down once you start reading. I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
