SEAL Daddies #3

Mickey's Baby

Rate this book
A hot vacation fling could turn into something more...
Or it could cost us our lives.

I’ve waited months for Karin to come back to the island.
Now she’s here and we can pick right back up where we left off.
I was so terribly wrong.
She’s cagey, aloof, and pushing me away.
I try to show her that I’m the real deal,
But she’s keeping me at arm’s length.
Now she’s seen something she wasn’t supposed to,
And her life is in danger.
She tries to tell me she doesn’t need my help,
But we both know that’s a lie.
I’m a good guy, an ex-SEAL who served with honor,
But there’s no line I won’t cross to protect what’s mine.

And make no mistake about it,
Karin’s all mine.

This is part of the Seal Daddie's Series and is Mickey's story. He is one of the five O'Shea brothers and has recently reunited with them in St Martin. This book is read as a standalone but if you've read any of the other books in the series you'll remember some of the characters. She and Mickey had a past that he wanted to rekindle but she was not as willing. Fate pushes them back together when she witnesses something that she shouldn't have and he vows to protect her. Plenty of drama, some suspense and angst. The chemistry is still there and things get interesting. Some surprises and a little one? A cute book that was an easy read that I read as a free book via Booksprout. I voluntarily chose to write a review.

Ok Read

This book wasn't as good as the first 2 because the lead H Karin was so annoying. Mickey was so damn hot and sincere I just wished through the whole book he'd give up on her and find someone who appreciated the beautiful kind loving man he was. Karins selfish stubborn stupidity put everyone in danger and she nearly got herself killed. I honestly couldn't stand her.

Turning the Flicker of Love into a Steady Flame

Mickey O’Shea, the middle brother of the blue-eyed, dark-haired brothers O’Shea, lately of Chicago, Illinois, but more recently of St Martin, a small island in the Caribbean, is a secret romantic. Growing up in the middle of five testosterone amped brothers, Mickey didn’t mind indulging his ma’s love of viewing old movies. Watching the classic romances with her, and even having a few favorites of his own, was his pleasure. So, he ignored his brothers’ teasing about his visible romantic side—he wanted romance—he just needed a woman who would share a romantic movie with him, indulging the soft side of a hard Navy SEAL.

While the tough, retired SEAL, like his two older brothers before him, had sought to find peace after his 20 years of service to his country, Mickey had always sought love. When first arriving on the island, he had worked with his brothers at the Irish bar founded in honor of their grandfather’s Chicago bar, O’Shea’s. And like Connor and Brendan, he had lived at the family compound built on the bones of a former resort which the brothers had refurbished to create a place of peace and retreat for the brothers O’Shea, and now O’Shea wives and children.

Once on St Martin, Mickey turned his hand and vision to the beautiful, mysterious and quiet world under the surface of the ocean, teaching and providing residents and tourists with the equipment, safety tips and skills to explore the magic of the under-sea world. In that other romantic environment, Mickey could indulge his soul and develop his financial security utilizing his SEAL water affinity as a scuba instructor. And, his scuba enterprise complimented the O’Shea empire of island enterprises including Connor’s Irish Bar, Brendan’s surfing school and family compound that would one day grow into a tourist resort.

And, just like he and his brothers believed in hard work that their business successes proved, they also demonstrated in real time the existence of love and romance. Now, with his own brothers—Connor and Brendan—finding their soul-mates and creating their families, their actions gave credence to Mickey’s belief in love and romance for himself. He wanted what he had seen in the movies that he had watched with his ma and in the relationships he observed within his own family.

And now, maybe, he has found the one. When Elise, his brother Brendan’s fiancé, and her best friend and business partner, Karin, had decided to relocate to St. Martin to open an advertising company, Mickey felt that fate was providing him with fair winds and following seas in his plans to win Karin’s heart every time he looked at the doe-eyed beauty with her long black hair and olive, sun-kissed skin.

But, while Karin’s move to St. Martin is real and concrete, she has her own dreams. She has dreamed for years of traveling all over the world, catching the wonders of man and nature on film, in different lights, with different filters. So, while she will honor her promise to Elise to help her friend and now business partner launch an advertising firm on St Martin, supporting Elise’s efforts with her own photographic skills, Karin has no plans for St Martin to be her final destination. And, as for her hot and heavy longing for Mickey? Well, she knew how transitory and ephemeral love could be. She had grown up watching her mom’s hopes and dreams of forever love burn hot and then flicker out. And like her mom’s passing and failing loves, she anticipated the same with Mickey—it was only a matter of time before he moved on like all the men in her life and her mom’s life had.

Annie Rose brings two individuals together who each seek to find an individual with whom a lifetime, love-filled walk is possible, but each fears the impossibility of such a dream. Filled with tension and passion, Rose weaves a powerful and moving love story. This is a novel that not only entertains, but also provokes the reader's contemplation of the road blocks and threats which can impede an individual’s growth and the growth of relationships on the pathway to love. And, while one of a series, each novel can be read independently of the others. But, the Brothers O'Shea are hard men to walk away from! The reader will want to meet and know each brother intimately!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an ARC review, but I enjoyed the reading experience so much that I bought a copy again for my "read-again" titles.

Can she learn to trust him, even when her life is in true danger

Mickey's Baby is the third book in the SEAL Daddies series and is the story of Mickey and Karin.
Karin is best friends with Elise, her and Brendan's story is in Brendan's Baby. Karin is a professional photographer who came to the island on a job with Elise. Well the ladies ended up meeting Brendan and Mickey and sparks flew between the couples. Karin and Mickey had fun together but they did not become an official couple, even though they have stayed in touch talking and FaceTime with each other since she returned to NYC and her career. Elise and Karin has become business partners starting an advertising firm on the island. So Karin heads back to St. Martin ..............and maybe back into Mickey's arms. But she is not prepared for the island to be her final home as she has plans to travel the world and take pictures of certain places and things.
Mickey is the middle of the O'Shea brothers. He is a retired Navy SEAL who came to St. Martin to be with his brothers and work in the family businesses. He also started a scuba business teaching tourists and locals along with renting and selling equipment and taking tours. He loves the water as it soothes his soul. Mickey has always believed in love and has looked for his own soulmate. Now that he has settled into the island life and seeing two of his brothers finding their ladies and start families he is ready to do the same. When Mickey met Karin it was an instant and he knew she was the one and she had his heart.
Karin is taking pictures one day and ends up with some of the wrong men. They are not happy and bring a lot of danger her way. Mickey is ready to put all of his SEAL training to use one again in protecting Karin but she is independent and fights him all the way. Karin is also fighting her attraction to Mickey and that she is falling for him. She does not trust men and finds it hard to believe that someone like Mickey could really be what she needs in her life for the long term. So when something happens Karin has to finally allow Mickey to protect her and keep her safe. Along the way there is also a little something else that is about to bring them closer together also.

This is a fabulously entertaining story that is well written. The story-line has drama, suspense, some danger, intense chemistry and romance/love. The characters are nicely developed and fit well together. Once again Annie J. Rose has done a wonderful job with this third book in the series as the thrills and steam are not slowing down with each book. I can't wait to read the next O'Shea brothers story.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Mickey's Baby, by Annie Rose, is a sweetly powerful book with fully-sketched characters that are believable and full of life. Mickey is the middle of the five O'Shea brothers and he grew up sharing his mother's love of classic romances. He took his brothers' kidding about the romantic side he wore on his sleeve and sought that kind of a romance for himself. Living at the family compound on the island of St. Martin, he found solace beneath the surface of the ocean, teaching scuba and the skills needed to enjoy the underwater magic. When his brother, Brendan's fiance, Elise, relocates to the island, she brings her business partner with her. Karin and Mickey originally met when she flew to the island as a professional photographer, on a job with Elise. Sparks flew and they did keep in touch, but there was nothing serious between them. Now that she's back on the island, opening an advertising business, there's a chance of something more developing with Mickey. Her love of photograph is what sustains her, but also brought trouble. An inadvertent photo, something she should haven't seen and her life was in danger. Mickey is determined to put his SEAL training to work to protect her, but Karin is an independent woman and fights him all the way. Because of her mother's troubles with keeping good men, Karin has learned not to trust and to keep men at an arm's length. She dreams of a passionate love, but doubts that she will ever find it. When she sees how Mickey fights for her and wants to keep her safe, her walls crumble and she embraces the possibility of a happy life with him. Once she accepts his love, and they become a couple, there are happy consequences that give them hope for their future.

Mickey is a former Marine that has moved to St. Martin following his brothers.  He has a successful diving business there and wants for nothing other than to find a love worth settling down for.  Karin visited the island with her best friend when she met Mickey.  They had a wonderfully hot vacation fling.  Now Karin is moving to the island to go into business with her best friend.  Karin has major trust issues when it comes to men.  Having watched her mother go through husband after husband all of them taking advantage of her and ending badly, Karin has no desire to settle with one man.  Short flings are fine with her but she does not do long term.  All Mickey wants is to make Karin his forever.  Can these two work through things out especially after Karin finds herself the target for a local drug lord?

Another great book by Rose.  I love reading about the O'Shea brothers.  Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone with no problem.  I like Karin's quirky and independent character.  I feel for her wanting to keep her independence and having scars from her mother's failed relationships.  I love that Mickey gives Karin her space but won't give up.  He knows they are meant to be together and he will wait for her to figure it out too.  This was book made me laugh, made me sit on the edge of my seat, and made my heart break for them when Karin couldn't allow herself to believe in forever.  This book has romance, love, steam, and action.  What's not to love?

It is no secret that all of Ms. Annie Rose publications have great storylines with amazingly crafted characters. The Seal Daddies Series is truly a pleasure to read. Mickey's Baby is the third installment I have read and I have recommended it to many, this far.

Mickey O'Shea owns and operates a successful diving business in St. Martin.  This tropical paradise will never be the same after Karin steps foot in it, permanently.  Karin and Mickey were introduced to us in the previous Seal release and this book follows their journey to their happily ever after.  Having never seen a true and fulfilling long lasting relationship/love, Karin, has only her best friends upcoming wedding on her mind and treats it as an 'anomaly'. Trust definitely does not come easy to her. The things Mickey makes her feel, causes her to not only run, but drive a wedge between them. When Karin witnesses something she shouldn't, can this photographer put aside her fear and lean on the one man that lives to love her? Ex-Seal, Mickey O'Shea will lay in all on the line for her regardless, however, want he really wants is Karin, forever.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Mickey's Baby in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this release as well as the Series as a whole.

Wonderful Romance.

This is the 3rd story in the Seal Daddies series where we get to see Mickey and Karin go from a causal island relationship in the last story to Mickey waiting months for her to return to live with helping her best friend start up her business on the island. These two are happy to see one another and spend some time together and Karin who has had a bad time growing up believes she is not meant to trust men or have unconditional love. Mickey is from a family of 5 brothers who have all servers in the military as a Seal and they are all retired making a living on St. Martin running their own businesses. As Karin is working one day she takes pictures of some unsavory men who bring trouble her way and once Mickey finds out he goes all protective of her and does whatever is necessary to keep her safe! Once Karin is faced with a tragic event does she realize that everything Mickey has been offering her, love, is what she wants and hopes she can get out of her situation to find himself tell him. This is a beautiful connection between these two how figure out what’s most important in their lives, one another and their love. It’s Mickey and Karin’s turn in this steamy addition to the Seal Daddies series! Those O’Shea brothers sure are dreamy...
Mickey a retired Navy Seal first meets Karin when she comes to St. Martin with Elise who’s now engaged to Brendan O’Shea. Karin’s a photographer. From the moment they meet sparks fly. They can’t get enough of each other. Are they a couple? When she left to go back to New York they kept in touch constantly. Now she’s on her way back to St. Martin for good. Mickey is over the moon excited. Their first night is off the charts hot. Mickey is already in love with Karin. Then their relationship starts to fall apart. Karin has trust issues and Mickey doesn’t know if he will ever get his chance with Karin. He’s determined to tear the walls down Karin has put up. While on a job Karin takes some photos of a shady deal going down with the local drug lord. Now her life is in danger. When she’s kidnapped will Mickey and the O’Shea brothers save her in time?
Seals never quit. Mickey’s gonna find the woman he loves and have the family he’s always dreams of.

I love this series! The O’Shea brothers have a special bond and when they fall in love they fall hard. Family means everything to them.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Mickey's Baby is book three in the series about five brothers and their loves. This one is about Mickey, the romantic one and Karin, a stubborn and independent photographer. Karin gets unintentionally mixed up with a really bad guy. It is up to Mickey and his brothers to keep her safe.

In addition to lots of chemistry and intensity of feelings, there's a lot of action. The book has a drug dealer, a kidnapping and a team going in for a rescue. I love the O'Shea brothers. They tease each other and act just as you would expect from a close group of brothers. They have an incredibly strong bond to.each other and family.

Mickey's Baby is a standalone with a HEA. While the series doesn't have to be read in any order, it helps with the backstory. I love this series of Annie J. Rose with each brother becoming my favorite while reading his story. Mickey's Baby is no exception and I recommend this book.

To start out, this series is about the five O'Shea brothers, all who were Navy Seals, and now live in the tropical paradise of St Martin. This is the story of Mickey, who is the middle brother, and who teaches diving excursions. He is also a sort of secret romantic. Karin, whom Mickey had been with in the book, Brendan's Baby, has returned to the island to work there as a photographer. He is looking forward to building that relationship together, now that she has returned, but Karin has other plans. The chemistry between them is steamy hot, but Karin has issues with relationships due to her childhood. When danger arrives for Karin, and her life is in danger, the Navy Seal comes out, and Mickey is there to protect her. This book is so hot, but also has a great storyline that will pull you right into it. Once I started reading it, I did not want to put it down. I highly recommend this book, and this series.

My second read from this series and I'm enjoying the series, well need to see how the other brothers find their loves. Mickey, one of five former SEAL brothers, wants what two of his brothers have found, a life partner and family. He thinks he has found it in his brother, Brendan's fiancée's business partner, Karin. When he met her their chemistry was off the charts, but while she's been gone packing to move to the island, Karin hasn't been taking his calls or returning his texts like he thought she would. When she does arrive they have a burn the sheets reunion, and then she goes cold on him again.
Karin had a rough childhood, men went in and out of her mom's life, and Karin's, on a regular basis, she decided that she'll never have her happiness be man dependent, she has plans and they don't include a permanent man in her life.
Mickey tries, but he can't break through Karin's resolve, until her life is endangered and she starts to depend on his support and strength.

Determination meets persistence
Mickey’s Baby (SEAL Daddies Book 3) by Annie J. Rose is a well written romance with an opposites attract element along with danger and suspense. Mickey is all in. This swoon -worthy, highly romantic former SEAL has it bad for commitment-phobe Karin. What started as a vacation fling has a high probability of forever if Mickey has his way. Karin has other ideas and does her best to dissuade Mickey of any and all thoughts permanence.
The plot provides persistent Mickey the opportunity he needs to remain close and chip away at Karin’s emotional walls. With life threatening danger a grim reality, Karin finally begins to accept, but surrendering seems all but impossible.
Overall, an exciting read with a super swoony former SEAL that will melt your heart. Best of all, he finally melts Karin’s for their perfect HEA.

He is in love with Karin. The New York transplant and fiance to his brother Bran, Elise. Karnin left to go back to New York tie up a few loose ends, leaving Mickey love sick, much to his dismay.
Karin has a hard life with men. Her mother brought in a slew of retrobates. So she has a hard time trusting those who show her affection. Mickey is slowly breaking down those walls around her heart. He just has to have patience. Which is hard for a lovelorn Irishman such as him.
Can Karin let him in? Can Mickey take it day by day, as Karin needs it?

His Patience And Perseverance Succeeded -
Karin grew up in a dysfunctional family, so she didn’t believe 8n love or family. Mickey on the other hand grew up with four loving brothers, who will lay down their lives for each other. The first time they met wasn’t just electric, but it also felt like they were meant to be together. However, it would take misunderstandings, drama and a near death experience for them to accept what they both knew to be true.

This story may be a romance, but it is packed with so much action, passion and drama, that it will keep you totally engrossed, with each turn the pages. I suggest you sit and relax on a comfy seat, because once you start reading this book, you will not be moving from that position until you finish.

AHHHH!
This is one of those books that when you’ve read the last word you take a deep breath for a big sigh! Mickey is the middle O’Shea brother and has recently joined his brothers in St. Martin. As the middle son, he spent more time with his mother watching classic romance movies with her. His other side is the SEAL side that was more acceptable to his “hard a**” brothers. Karin has finally returned from the states to help her friend Elise with her business. This is Mickey’s opportunity to finally win her love. However, things are not that simply as she has seen a man murdered, and the murderer knows who she is. A truly exciting and romantic read that will hold your attention until the very last word.

Mickey and Karin had hooked up before when Karin visited St. Martin, the Island where he lives. Mickey is an Ex-Navy Seal and is 1 of 5 O'Shea brothers that live on the island each having their own business, Mickey's being a Diving business. Karin is a photographer and has moved to the island to work with her BFF who is marrying Mickey's brother. Mickey is the romantic and thought he and Karin would pick up where they left off but Karin is afraid to make it more than friends since she didn't have such a great life growing up.
Karin while taking photos catches some things she shouldn't have and now her life is in danger. Will Mickey keep her safe and if he can, will they find a way to make things work out or just be friends?

I enjoyed Mickey's story and look forward to reading about the rest of the brothers.

Karin is back on the island starting a business with her friend and is reunited with Mickey. Mickey has been waiting for Karin to come back and his brothers won't stop teasing him about her. Karin wants to be with Mickey but isn't sure where she stands with him. A misunderstanding has her pulling back from him and Mickey wishes she'd give him a chance. However when she accidently catches some bad guys on film its Mickey she turns to for help. Can he convince her to give him another chance? Will they catch the bad guys?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. Once I started this I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Mickey's Baby. This is another one of the O'shea brothers story in the series Seal Daddies. I am enjoying the series. I enjoyed the characters in this book. Mickey has his heart set on rekindling a fling he had with Karin, a woman that came to the island for vacation. Karin and her friend, Elise, had decided to move back to St. Martin to start their business. Elise was engaged to Brendan, Mickey's brother. Things didn't quite go the way Mickey wanted them to go and he found himself in a dilemma of wanting someone who is resisting him for a strange reason he can't understand. The story gets intense and exciting when Karin takes a picture of the wrong person. Karin, who is Elise's friend, is going into a photography and marketing business with Elise. Karin loves to travel to faraway places taking her photographs and will never settle down. She met Mickey O'Shea on her previous trip to the island and they were inseparable at that time. Mickey is so looking forward to her coming back, but Karin feels that it might all be too serious for her. They spend one hot night together on the night she returns, but then she pulls away from him. She also thinks that Mickey plays around when she is not there. Karin is also helping pregnant Elise prepare for her wedding to Brandon O'Shea. A wedding. An inadvertent photo. Danger. Lots and lots of danger. Fabulous story and I absolutely loved it.

This book had me on the edge of my seat, it was so exciting and so good. I loved Karin and Mickey, the latest O'Shea to find his mate. I love the Seals code to protect, It makes this book so hot, all the chemistry between Karin and Mickey is off the charts, like the other O'Shea brothers, they know what they want and how to get it, in the best possible way. I love the setting, the tropical paradise is perfect or so it seems. If you love your romance with a bit of intrigue set in a paradise location then you should enjoy this book. I have read all the O'Shea books up to now and loved them all. I cannot wait for the next O'Shea brother to fall.

MICKEY AND KARIN

Jesus, not another one 😱 Missed opportunities between two supposedly adults. I despise this type of story and what's worse is I could not find one redeeming quality about Karin. I could not stand her. It was so bad that I could not believe that a man would put up with her. There was some action but really?? You had to get thru the sexy times first (and there was too much). Almost as much as her ridiculous behavior and the many, many ways her tongue cut Mickey. It made him look pitiful and foolish. Even though the ending was expected, it didn't change my attitude of the book. This was my first book by this author, it will probably be my last. What a shame 👿

Such a great story! Mickey had his eye on Karin for a while and she is coming back, which has Mickey hoping that they can get serious. Karin is not receptive but she's in trouble and so Mickey's protective instinct goes into overdrive to look after her.
This had all the drama and action one would love to see In a romantic suspense book, with suspense in places. So well written and I loved the dialogue. It's a fresh original book with a familiar topic. I loved the steamy scenes too. Not overly done. Fantastic book really great!

Wonderful love story with lots of drama.
Was looking forward to Mickey & Karin's story & I was not disappointed. Their story was hot but at the same time sweet although she did annoy me at times the way she treated him. It seemed no matter what he did she kept trying to push him away even when her life was in danger she still held back. At times it seemed like Mickey would never get his happy ever after with the love of his life, however it took a drastic turn of events for Karin to tell Mickey how she really felt about him. The end of the book left me with a smile on my face.

Oh I just love reading about these O’Shea brothers. First we had Connor in book 1, then Brendan in book 2 and now we have Mickey. Oh ladies, you are going to love him. A big man with a big heart. Waiting for Karin to come back to the island, he wants to make her his but oh boy, is he in for a shock. Not only does she have commitment issues, now a drug lord is after her. A fast paced story you will want to speed read, I know I did and the chemistry between Mickey and Karin...phewee , off the charts. Another brilliant story and can’t wait to read more of the O’Shea brothers

I love a great romance complicated by life, I was taken by Kira, she is something else, a confuse girl that had a bad upbringing and doesn’t think she deserves good things in life. I felt in love with Mickey for his kindness, he is one of my favourite book boyfriend, we discovered the story of the O’Shea family and the ones they loved, those guys will melt your heart. Their journey to be together has its bumps but It will make you smile and believe in love.
