This is a very good guide book on the empaths it is well written and presented. I never knew there are so many types and I really loved reading explanations.
This book is very short but insightful and I look forward to more from this author.
I received this book from Booksprout for an honest review.
The concepts of empathy and empaths are huge buzzwords in self-help books and circles, but this book's approach intrigued me when I saw it at one of my favorite book review sites. It didn't seem to be the standard empath/ narcissist one employed by so many books. And it isn't. However, what it is isn’t much better, unfortunately. I was at first excited to see the table of contents, which showed this book aimed to break down the topic into several logical sections, including the first about different types of empathy (i.e., emotional or compassionate) and the following about empaths. I was looking forward to a good read. Unfortunately, the author does not know how to write. She may know her subject, though I can't say for certain, but she doesn't know how to write about it. The best nonfiction books are friendly and conversational. This is neither. Frankly, it's just a hard slog to read because the author states things in ways that few would in normal conversation and almost seemed to be away that she self-aggrandizes. Here's an example, right from the introduction: “An empath enables us to see the user from more points of view. Patterns state a lot as well as contradictions—which is essential information. It can occur that a user is not happy about the service but still utilizes it.” Say, what? If you have an interest in learning more about empathy and empaths, I recommend you find an easier-reading book.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
