This is the beginning of the second arc of the story!
4 years have passed, after the events with Hirata Yashiro decides to stop with the yakuza business for a while and becomes the owner of a shady casino. An issue with a debtor will bring him into the yakuza territory yet again and will discover that Doumeki didn't leave the yakuza, in the contrary, he's become a very efficient and respected bodyguard of the Sakura group of the Sanwakai.
Intriguing build up! can't wait to know what's Yoneda cooking up for these two.

“it’s only been four years. why would you think i’ve changed?”
i think this is my favorite volume all together. like 5 and 6 are also 5 stars, but for different reasons. as much as it frustrates me, i LOVE and LIVE FOR a time skip where they don’t see each other 🫣🤭 that being said, i literally can’t stand how fucking sad the two of them look when they are not look at each other. and Yoneda has the AUDACITY to make those panels huge and side by side😭
it’s obvious that doumeki has not gotten over yashiro, however, being away from each other has kind of helped him a lot. DONT GET ME WRONG, I WANT THEM TO BE TOGETHER. but he is growing into his own self. he is a man with few words, but damn is he chatty in this volume (and funny!!). being infatuated with a person is hard enough, but finding that person right after a traumatic event that cost him his job and his romantic life is even more so hard because yashiro became everything to him. i still think that he would have fallen for him, but maybe it wouldn’t have been such a hard relationship, and maybe yashiro would have been more willing to keep doumeki in and not barricade his heart the moment he let his walls down. doumeki’s character growth is definitely one my favorites recently. he has gotten so much more confident in himself, and i can’t wait to see him grown even further.
this vol had a lot more light hearted moments in the beginning and i really appreciate it. it does a really good job of it because it sets the tone of the time skip and shows just how are characters have moved on from the events of 4 years ago (even though i have not). i love nanahara and kamiya sm, they are so funny together.
and of course it has to end on a cliffhanger that has so much sexual tension like please

За съжаление трябва... Да чакам да се съберат нови томове, за да стигнат до мен. Аууу, не е честно xD (Да, всъщност тази манга съществува физически в библиотеката у дома хъхъхъ.)
Ако досега уменията на авторката в рисуването са били извънземни, с началото на новата арка тук тя се изстрелва на отвъд галактическо ниво. Направо заслепяващо от всякъде!
Прескачаме четири години тук. Новите приятели на Доумеки са очарователни (а някои са и достойни комедианти, например Камия или по-точно казано "по-глупавичката на външен вид версия на Нанахара"). Цунакава ми напомня на каширата от анимето с якудза бавачката от миналото лято.
Самият Доумеки пък се е научил да затапва хората много добре. Може би си отмъщава в традицията на "Тихите води са най-дълбоки" xD Радвам се, че имахме още малко Рюзаки (този пич наистина винаги е като на три Ред Бул-а) и повече Амо - още не схващам какво му влиза в работата да участва в разни драми, но помощта му е добре дошла. Може да е рано, но стискам палци за положително развитие...

Mit Twittering Birds verbindet mich eine Hass-Liebe. In einem Band will ich sie abbrechen, im nächsten verfalle ich ihr wieder.
Nach Band 6 war wieder einmal ersteres der Fall. Doch da Band 7 der aktuellste ist, dachte ich, ich wag die Reise nochmal.
Und gleich zu Anfang habe ich mich wieder vollkommen lost in dieser Geschichte gefühlt, bis dann klar war, dass wir auf einmal 4 Jahre in der Zukunft sind.
Nach 2-3 Kapiteln habe ich dann aber aufgegeben…
Ein paar Häppchen Yashiro, ein paar von Doumeki, aber immer eingebunden in viel zu viel Story drum herum, die mich von Beginn an nicht gefesselt hat. Dafür sind es zu viele Ausschläge und Verbindungen und es mangelt mir an einem spannenden, roten Faden.
Warum ich dran blieb, waren die Hauptcharaktere. Ich empfand sie als interessant und wollte sie irgendwann greifen können. Das ist mir leider bisher nicht gelungen. Band 5 war für mich der Höhepunkt der Reihe, seitdem strengt sie mich nur noch an und langweilt mich. Ich weiß, viele lieben diese Reihe, aber sie scheint nichts für mich zu sein und wird wieder ausziehen - ohne, dass ich Band 7 fertig lese.

Han pasado 4 años desde los sucesos del tomo 6 y ni Yashiro ni Dômeki son los mismos, o sí y solo esconden sus heridas? Entramos en un nuevo arco de uno de los mejores BL que se publican en Japón y que retratan la Yakuza como nadie.

Al principio estaba perdida porque no me acordaba qué había pasado en el tomo pasado, pero cuando empecé a recordar todo tenía sentido pero a la vez estaba triste la cosa. Necesito el tomo 8 para ver qué le depara a Doumeki y Yashiro!

I always thought that the yakuza's issues raised in this manga are very specific and actually felt "real". Usually yakuza theme is only used as a sweetener, and not as the main driving force of the story ((to the best of my knowledge at least. i've read several stories using this kind of theme, so... 💁🏻♀️)). So far, this series is the best to representate it.
I'm really intrigued to see how this story would end. It will surely be a happy ending ((uh-huh, my entrails know it)). But how Yoneda-sensei wrap it up, nah, we'll see it in the final volume~

Modifico ressenya ara que m'estic fent la col·lecció - el volum 7 s'acaba al capítol 43. Continuo pensant que el millor és fer relectura perquè tinc molt present les animacions, però no tant el manga ^^'

Honestly? Love this for them.
I love the way the author did the time-skip and how things have changed yet stayed the same. WHEN THEY SAW EACH ITHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOUR YEARS I COULDNT HELP BUT TAKE A MINUTE TO SHAKE EXCITEDLY AND SQUEAL OMG IT WAS PERFECT.
AND DOUMEKI AND YASHIRO ARE ON EQUAL FOOTING NOW?????? Absolutely amazing. I cant wait to see what this new dynamic brings because of their new status, as well as the feelings from the past.
I also really like Amou and am so intrigued as to his entire character. Like why did he help Doumeki? Did he see himself in Doumeki?
And the way that Yashiro keeps the fake ideal of Doumeki only following him because it was the ‘first thing he saw out of prison’ thing is so brilliant as a metaphor (birds) but also as a wall to put up between his feelings for Doumeki and AHHHHHHHHH.

I live for time skips and this one soooo did not disappoint: yashiro is even hotter than ever and doumeki is just pure 🔥🔥🔥 but what’s best about this volume is how the tension between doumeki and yashiro just keeps on growing and growing like a taut string and it’s going to snap soon and I just can’t wait for the mess this will blow up into 😍 gosh, this story is so addicting 😍🙏

okay so i didn’t check the status of this manga and it turns out it’s ongoing?? damn it 😭
that being said, i was hooked from beginning to end. the characs rlly grew on me, esp our side characters!! (looking at you nana <3)
i rlly like effed up yakuza stories so this was right up my alley ^^

Increíble cómo es un tomo lleno de tensión aunque realmente no haya mucha acción y sea todo muy contextual.Kou Yoneda sabe cómo hacer tomos más relajados pero con escenas potentes.
NECESITO leer el tomo 8 porque este es muy introductorio y ¡se acaba en el mejor momento!

I think what I love most about this series is the way that I truly feel like a fly on the wall. The story doesn’t lag around and wait for me to catch up and understand… it lives in a world entirely of its own, and the characters don’t even feel like they’re part of a “story”. It really feels like I’m peeking into another universe. That’s how you know the writing is just incredible.

Too much of the mafia shit - now with a brand new faction (4 whole ass years later) and too little interaction - especially direct interaction with the two main characters. Which if I'm being honest, is why I continue to keep up with this series

WOW! Ha tardado en llegar, pero wow! y además en la trama también ha pasado el tiempo, Yashiro y Doumeki se reencuentran después de 4 años y la situación de ambos ha cambiado mucho. Siguen los trapicheos y politiqueos entre grupos yakuza y, estos dos... saltan chispas!
