Being a witch is a blessing. Learning how to use my gifts will take a miracle.
My life is a train wreck. Between running from truant officers, stealing food to survive, and the stress of being one of the have-nots, it’s a miracle I’ve made it this far.
When an opportunity to attend an elite academy presents itself, I know it’s a long shot, but so is surviving these streets alone. No one is more surprised than me when I’m accepted. Now, all I have to do is stay out of trouble, but within days, that proves more difficult than I expected.
My roommate hates me. I piss off the headmaster. And worst of all, my best friend is found dead. That changes everything.
Something dark and dangerous lurks on campus grounds. I can feel it to my core. Now, all that matters is I find the killer and try not to fall for three hot mages. They’re a distraction I don’t need.
Welcome to my freshman year at the Witch Academy of Ash, where love, murder, and magic are unexpected parts of the curriculum!
I was not really pleased with this work. The plot was all over the place and it didn’t really match up with the description given of the work. I couldn’t figure out who all the love interests were and it felt like there were gaps in the story line making it hard for me to understand her relationships with everyone and how close she was to her best friend. It was frustrating and I felt very misled.
I give this a two out of five stars. It was big let down and the ending was horrible.

Intense Drama “Phantom Light” is a slow-burn that takes a bit to get into the story. But, once you start reading, it whisks you away into the world of the students at “Witch Academy of Ash”. The storyline’s plot is filled with intrigue, danger, drama, mystery, and murder. It grips you and holds you until the cliffhanger, which hits you when you least expect it. This is an exciting beginning to an intense series that must be added to your TBR list. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review

This is one hell of a read! Once you start reading you will find yourself lost into this intense and intriguing world created by the author. There’s danger, drama , murder and mystery & a witch that is totally kick ass! “ Welcome to the freshman year at the Witch Academy of Ash, where love, murder, and magic are unexpected parts of the curriculum!” If this sounds like your sort of thing then pick it up but be prepared cause you will not be able to put it down!
This book sucks you in from the beginning. It has mystery, murder, and of course bad boys. A case of who on campus or off campus has done it. It is a short read but it introduces you to the characters and potential suspects involved. So if you love to solve a mystery and bad boys, then read this book!
I flew through this book, the storyline pulls you In quick as it kicks in fast. We meet Ronnie who gets accepted into witch academy. On her way she meets Shelly, who gets found dead in campus. We also meet Kenneth who Ronnie starts dating for things to get twisty as she searches for her best friend's killer. Also this book end on a slight cliffhanger ending to leave you wanting more
A good story that introduces Ronnie who is lucky enough to get into a Witch Academy. Of course she thinks things are going to turn around for her but instead she ends up with danger, a mystery, and some odd characters at her school. It was a quick read that kept me reading to the end to see what she discovers and figures out. Sets up the next book well as I need to see what happens next.
What an interesting tale. What has Ronnie gotten herself mixed up in? What is Kenny hiding? Who is Prince? So much happened in such a short amount of time I’ve no idea what’s going to happen next. What a way to end the book too. So excited to read the next instalment.
Shadow Light by R.L.Wilson is an awesome read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have been so hooked on since the beginning and can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about reverse harem, urban fantasy and paranormal romance.

Ronnie is invited to attend a prestigious academy, but can she fit in? Her friend Shelley helps her to get on with things and still enjoy life. Kenny is a tall, handsome young man. But can he protect her when things go wrong? Searching for the person who killed her friend puts her in the killers' .cross-hairs
Read the book in about an hour and a half. There were some parts I think could have been drawn out more. Like going from her apartment with her mom to the bus and school and then the club. There were just some times where I think it felt rushed to get to a certain point and we didn't get to know much about the characters either, well at least not in book one.
This book is written very juvenile to. It's short and just doesn't make much sense to me. I'm going to read the next book in case I'm wrong and it gets better. This is a new author for me so maybe I'm not used to their writing style.
Quick novella read! It catches your attention and holds you until it shoves you off a cliffhanger! Ronnie is a loveable teen but gets caught up in a mess she can't help but investigate....and add magic 😉
i don’t know what i just read- it reads like a 10 yo wrote it.. it doesn’t flow the words don’t mesh right and the whole world seams bizarre like everyone is corrupt and the main character is the only one not in on it..
Ronnie is back with allies but school still has its challenges plus the danger to herself. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book moves way to fast and confused me with the character knowing people right away after just starting. Liked the premise but could finish reading.
