A seer whose faulty visions could mean death for those around her.
Two swoon-worthy Scottish men—one who shares her gift, and one who trusts her heart.
Three women whose cautiously healing sisterhood is still riddled with doubt and fear, as they struggle to understand and accept the power of their connection. The complicated threads that entwine their fates leave little question: when you defy the Universe to save those you love, the cost may be higher than you expect…
As a child, Kate Banberry had visions of the future, visions almost no one believed except her two closest friends, Sam and Beth, girls with incredible gifts of their own. But then the ugly aftermath of tragedy shattered their sisterhood, leaving Kate alone, hiding her gift from the world once more.
Now widowed and raising two young daughters while running a failing Scottish bed and breakfast, Kate yearns for normalcy after bringing a serial killer to justice with the help of Sam and Beth. This hope is dashed when Kate has a death vision, revealing the presence of a secret black ops military group intent on unlocking the special gifts of people like Kate through awful means — kidnapping, blackmail, and horrific experimentation. If what Kate has seen comes to pass, lives will be lost, and their fledgling sisterhood will be destroyed. Forever.
Even with Sam’s connections with the Wardens of Entwine and Beth’s willingness to bring the facility to its knees, Kate knows they’ll need her visions to succeed. Visions which are unreliable at best. Along with her old friends, she rallies newer ones, including two men who remind her of what she’s been missing in her life — romantic love.
To have any chance of success, Kate must believe in herself and her gifts, embracing her full potential as the Oracle. In the end, she’ll have to defy the Universe to have any chance to save those she loves. But will it be enough?
I wanted to savor this because I know it will be a while before book 3 is out, but I just couldn’t put it down!
The author does an amazing job of introducing new characters. The main character is Kate and most of the book is her perspective, but every few chapters you get the perspective of another character. This makes the last few chapters work really well!
The pace of Raven is excellent. There is very little downtime. The character personas are built through action rather than dialogue and I really appreciate that!
Meeting Vivian is one of my favorite parts. Anyone who reads this will want to be her for Halloween!
Raven was an amazing sequel to Entwine. I really appreciated that the author didn't rehash Entwine during the course of Raven, but just referenced things that happen in the first book.
I love watching the internal and external connections form, heal, and develop throughout both books, but particularly in Raven.
I definitely experienced the full gamut of emotions while reading and felt both drained and exhilarated at the ending.
It was a gripping story that kept me up way too late for a few nights in a row, but was totally worth it.
I'm excited to read the last book of the trilogy!
(As was the case with the first book in the trilogy, I won't be sharing this one with my kids either due to swear words and steamy scenes.)
Tracetly writes such great characters. You really feel like they are your friends. This book and her first one have great story lines. Mystery, love, friendship and ghosts! Love this series and can't wait for the 3rd one.
Great book! Loving this series! Can't wait to read the 3rd. Just hoping Tracey Shearer keeps going with this series. I know it's about the 3 main characters in the book but I'd like to see more with Sam, Kate, and Beth.
