Not even Troy Aleksandrov, who has never known the best of luck, could've expected a day like this. A virus that got out of military hands and into the flesh of human beings is now wreaking havoc where Troy lives, in a small Virginian town. He relies on his instincts and new acquaintances to survive, while the infection spreads and the military struggles to clean up their mess.

I overall enjoyed the take on this trope, but the pacing was oddly off. Moments were it was so exciting, I wanted to keep reading.... to moments, I was bored to tears.
While an interesting book to read Project Anubis at times was a little slow for my liking and constantly switching characters was a little disorientating breaking the pace of the novel. However saying that the concept of a viral outbreak (while a little over done) works well in this context as while people in the novel are turned into "carriers" the fact that any injury or disability they have doesn't suddenly be cured when they are turned. Overall while I feel the pacing is broken at multiple points I would likely re read it in the future as I find the overall concept very interesting and likely a follow up could improve upon and continue the story that has been told.
