No one ever promised forever would be easy.

Her gift was to see

Dianthe's second sight has always been both a blessing and a curse. She can't control her visions, yet they're unerringly accurate... until an erroneous prophecy results in the destruction of her homeland. The revelation crushes her spirit and endangers her role as an officer in the rebellion to take back the Kingdom of Paragon.

Until their future was hidden

Sylas, dragon shifter and exiled prince, is the leader of the rebellion, but he can no longer rely on his mate Dianthe's psychic powers. His inner dragon is secretly pleased to relegate her to the sidelines. Even if his decision temporarily drives her away, he'd rather have her angry than dead or worse.

No one ever promised forever would be easy.

When changing circumstances accelerate the rebellion's plans, Dianthe’s fairy roots make her the only one who can perform a dangerous and necessary task. Her need to prove herself soon collides with Sylas's desire to protect her and strains their connection to the breaking point. Dragon mating bonds are eternal, but if Dianthe and Sylas don't find a way to successfully work together again, not only will their marriage fail, their mission to take back Paragon will as well.

Wow, 7 for 7 for Genevieve Jack! ❤️

Hidden Dragon, Sylas and Dianthe's story, is a little different from the other books. First of all, when we met this couple in Book 6 they were already married. Secondly, this takes place almost entirely in the Paragon dimension as opposed to Earth. Both aspects make for a refreshing change and brings new interest into the overall plot.

When Sylas met his mate, Dianthe, she was already a leader in the Defenders of the Goddess rebellion in Ouros. Dianthe is a fairy with a powerful second sight, which she uses to aid the rebellion against Sylas' evil queen mother. Sylas was recently captured by the ruthless Eleanor, where he was tortured mercilessly because he refused to betray his fellow rebels. As Dianthe was aiding in his escape, the two of them came across the remains of Eleanor's co-conspirator, Aborella, clinging to life. Sylas' mate refused to abandon the pitiful creature even though Aborella has been a powerful enemy to Sylas and his siblings. Dianthe's vision that Aborella will aid the rebellion may be faulty and Sylas begins to question Dianthe's active involvement in the DOG.

Dianthe needs Sylas to trust her instincts and respect her gifts. As a dragon prince, Sylas wants nothing more than to protect his mate, even if means protecting her from herself. Their decisions, their words, and their feelings drive a wedge between them. The gulf grows farther apart. Their marital discord was painful and poignant to read. Genevieve Jack does a tremendous job of displaying how a loving and committed couple can nevertheless be hampered by their completely opposing points of view.

Despite the "cold war" between Sylas and Dianthe, the rebellion must forge forward. Eleanor is making terrible and devastating moves against them. They need to find a weapon that can stop the evil queen and her powerful dark magic before it is too late. Their hopes turn to finding the Golden Grimoire than once was in the possession of Medea, the Witch Queen of Darnuith, and an ancestor of the three sisters (Raven, Avery and Clarissa). To that end, Sylas, Dianthe, and all the other Treasures of Paragon team must work together to solve a congregate of mysteries left behind by Medea.

Once again, I finished a Genevieve Jack book in one day and loved every minute of it. Hidden Dragon was a great blend of action and adventure, with lots of feels added in at perfect intervals. The highs and lows caused by hope and reunion, as well as grief and loss, made for a deep and memorable experience. It's so tempting to want to give a spoiler, but I can't! I can only say that I love the direction the plot has taken and I can't wait for the next book.

This is the seventh book in the Treasures of Paragon series by Genevieve Jack.

I have to admit that I was a little annoyed at Sylas for a majority of this book. Okay, I know Aborarella was not a nice fairy at all and had crossed them time and time again, but Sylas telling his wife that he didn’t believe in her visions when they had proved accurate every time just boiled my blood. I kind of hung onto that for a lot of the book and I realized that I would not have stayed and tried to work it out with him and make him see my side. Dianthe had the patience of a saint.

Again we bring in the Tanglewood sisters and they prove to be quite helpful when they need to look for Hera’s grimoire. I have a feeling when we finally get to the end of the book Hera is not going to give Eleanor what she wants and that fight will be epic. I was horrified the lengths Eleanor would go to keep Aborarella bound to her just so she could accomplish her aims.

The characters in this book are just so fully thought out and crafted that it is a a thing of art. Then add to that the fact that there are so many different personalities here and I am mind blown. I can’t image how long it took to create such a universe.

There is also like a hero’s journey in every book that is followed to the letter. I am just amazed and in awe each time I pick up one of these books. I think Genevieve Jack needs to give classes on world building and character creation. Wow, just wow in all aspects. I love the mythology brought into the real world aspect of this.

This is definitely a series I will continue to follow.

If you love a good paranormal romance mystery, definitely check this one out.

I received this ARC from the author in return for an honest review.

Fantastic continuation of the Dragons of Paragon Series

If you think you can read a chapter or two and put this book down then think again! This book jumps immediately into action and does not let up. There are fairies, goddesses, dragons, sea monsters, sprites, vampires and every other creature you could possibly imagine described in vivid detail. The creative writing of Genevieve Jack explores the tension, family drama, alpha ego males and strong willed women creating a book the sucks you in and sends you on an emotional roller coaster. This series is by far one of my favorites and I adore the continually developing relationship of the family and how it expands and grows.

Sylas and Dianthe have been mated for a long time and having a story of an existing relationship and the struggles of a mature couple is welcoming. Reading their story reminds me a great deal of the military life I grew up in. Watching my parents adjusting to being separated and then adjusting to being back together for periods of time. It felt familiar to me and I was drawn into their world. The character development of Sylas and Dianthe is amazing. I cannot wait for book 8 for their story to continue along with all of the other Paragonian dragons and their mates and the newly revealed Colin.

Sylas, the dragon and his fairy wife Dianthe, live in the fairy realm of Paragon. In the last audiobook, Dianthe helped a dark fairy, but now it looks like she is betrayed them. Sylas is concerned for his wife’s safety as they prepare to battle the Empress, and questions Dianthe’s visions. Perhaps she has been be-spelled? This causes tension between the couple.

Meanwhile, the rest of the siblings and their wives, the three witches prophesied to end the Empresses reign, are traveling to an island ruled by a god. As the brothers gather, they are joined by others and one of the Elven. Together they must collect orbs which hold the key to saving Paragon.

The story that unfolds was suspenseful and dark. Trust is key, and watching Sylas and Dianthe work through their problems kept me engaged. Their mission was intense, from vampires to near death escapes. It was totally addictive from beginning to end. The time is drawing near and the author teased us with hints of the next book and the overall story arc.

There are currently ten audiobooks and I cannot wait to binge The Dragons of Paragon, Colin’s story.

The story is narrated by Holly Adams, who brings these characters to life from their accents to their powerful personalities. From the moment a character speaks, I know exactly who it is, thanks to the unique voices she has given them. Her male voices are well done. I highly recommend listening to the series.

Pre-requisite - read books 1 through 6 before tackling this one. This is the story of the 7th dragon sibling, Sylas and his wife Dianthe. A little change up where the dragon already has his mate. “But loving someone and being able to live with them were two different things” Sylas had recently been imprisioned and that kind of separation changes a person. Dianthe was healing an enemy, Aborella, and saying that she had changed. Add this to a search for orbs that could help win the war with Paragon and you have got yourself a satisfying story. The world of Ouros will be explored as the search goes on. I can’t wait to visit more of the lands of Ouros in the upcoming books. I also throughly recommend you read the companion book about the three Tanglewood witches to learn more about the bittersweet family history.

I discovered Genevieve Jack on Bookbub when she released The dragon of New Orleans. After reading that amazing book I read everything I could find by her. Each book was brilliant. She's very talented, I tend to feel a bit more upbeat after reading her books.

Hidden dragon was such a rich story. The characters are so vivid, they each have their own idiosyncrasies and charisma making them unique to their place in the story. As the series builds towards it's conclusion all the characters from the past books are coming together. This series has so many facets, it's wonderful to see how they are fitting together into a whole.

Sylas, the dragon and Dianthe, a fairy are a mated couple already. Somehow in the fight to aid the rebellion a horrible disconnect has happened. The strife and fear, Sylas's imprisonment, Dianthe's empathy in view of her visions have taken there toll. As a mated couple they can't live without each other but it seems like their torched bridges are unrepairable.
With Sylas's mother, the Empress of Paragon's ruthless reign of terror and continued attacks against all they hold dear, they somehow have to remember why they fell in love. How do they save their bond and fight for the freedom of all of Paragon's people? With all the pain and misunderstanding this is going to be an uphill battle on all fronts.

I loved this book. It was heartbreaking, exciting, dramatic and consuming. The anger and misunderstanding between the couple felt so real. I'm glad Genevieve Jack promises happy endings because I had my doubts a few times!
I received this ARC from the author. This is my personal opinion and review.

Wow. So we are now in book 7. As usual the characters and picture described are quite riveting. Naturally you get sucked into this fantastical world and can’t pull yourself away until the last page. We get to see all our faves from previous books as this story continues to build toward the end.

This book centers around an already mates couple, which is a different direction for us, so we don’t have the build up to a relationship and the angst and romantic tension. In this book Sylas (dragon) Ana Dianthe (fairy) are just trying to survive the war and all that has been thrown against them and their loved ones. With all that’s going on the stress, and fear as well as atlas’s imprisonments, and her empathetic views due to her visions are bleeding into problems for the couple.

They are one another’s other half but it seems that they have strained what is between them. With his crazy mother’s reign and continued attacks and stress you watch as they try to maintain all that they hold dear.

I loved this book. You come into this book from a different angle with a relationship that they are fighting to protect and save. All the while misunderstandings and anger fuel the way for conflict. I’m glad they got their HEA but what remains to be seen on the Paragon universe is still up in the air. Only two more books left!!

I received this as an ARC from the author. This is my honest opinion and review.

The Treasure of Paragon Series is one of my all-time favorites. I immediately fell in love with the series when The Dragon of New Orleans came out. But, the reason I keep coming back to it is that Ms. Jack has created such a wonderful world, rich in action, meaningful scenes, and characters that a reader can easily relate to.
Hidden Dragon is the seventh book in the series. The action takes place in different kingdoms, like Nochtbend (the vampire's kingdom. There is a scene with Sabrina Bishop that you do not want to miss), Everfield (the faeries' kingdom), and Darnuith, (domain of the witch queen). The dragons and their mates go on a quest looking for certain objects that will be key to bring Eleanor down. Though the book is packed with fighting scenes and plot development, the center stage is the struggle Sylas and Dianthe go through as a married couple.
Contrary to the other dragons (except Alexander and Maiara and Nathaniel and Clarissa), Sylas and Dianthe are married and fighting for the resistance. They are in love, however, they are going through a rough patch at the beginning of the book. This is interesting to see in a paranormal novel. How does a married couple come back from distrust and misunderstanding? I, for once, am happy to see the direction this book took because, as in any married couple, the ups and downs will be present. The way Sylas and Dianthe came back stronger than ever was beautiful and well written.
Please, give this series a try and I strongly suggest you start from Book 1. You will not be disappointed. Bravo, Ms. Jack!

She did it again. With Hidden Dragon G. Jack wrote an outstanding pnr fiction/romance novel that had me in suspense from start til the last page. I read the book in one sitting, literally unputdownable.
Hidden Dragon is book seven in the Treasure of Paragon Series and tells Dianthe and Sylas's story.
Dianthe is a pnr being, just like Sylas the Dragon Shifter. Both love each other deeply, but sometimes love isn't enough.
Take a slightly maintenance woman and an Alpha Dragon Shifter and you get the picture.
They have a lot to work through while a war is raging around them. Surrounded by family they stand up against enemies and threats.
Hidden Dragon is best read in order with the previous books.
A great, excellent written story, 5 stars.

This is absolutely one of my favorite series, and I cannot believe how it is even possible that each book just gets better! The world building in this series is just huge! Storyline is really incredible, I mean a truly epic adventure. This series is phenomenal in its characters and how well they are written to integrate into regular urban life then jump right into epic fantasy. A villain of the worst kind, that literally makes you cringe! That’s what the amazing characters have to fight against. Engaging! Gripping! Thoughtfully ingenious. A must read.

Hidden Dragon is the 7th installment of The Treasure of Paragon series...you really must read the first six books before delving into this one. I discovered this series and Genevieve Jack at the recommendation of another author and am so thankful I did! Genevieve's world-building ability is second to none...her descriptions pull you into the story so well that you will have no trouble creating this world in your mind. Her characters are so well developed that you truly get a sense of who they are and what they believe, not to mention being completely relatable! I can see a lot of myself in Dianthe, and my husband in Sylas, and that helps pull me into the story even more!

Sylas and Dianthe have been mated for many years, but even after loving one another for so long troubles can arise. When Sylas feels he can no longer trust his mate's abilities, Dianthe is deeply hurt, not knowing the truth behind what is really driving Sylas's actions. She should know that a dragon will stop at nothing to protect his mate. What he calls protecting, she calls suffocating. Will they find their way back to each other? You're going to have to read the book to find out!

This is one of those series that you just don't want to end. All the characters and worlds are so beautifully woven together that each book and story flows seamlessly into the next and makes you want to be a part of their group. If you love paranormal/fantasy/romance, then this is the series for you because it has it all! You'll laugh, cry, get angry and cheer as the story unfolds. I highly recommend this series and author.

This is a terrific series of books - dragons, witches, fae, plus other supernaturals. In this story we meet Silas, the dragon, and his Fae wife, Dianthe. Since they have been mated for years, their story deals with how they are interacting after more than a hundred years. Pressure from his mother, the Queen of Paragon, and her fight against all others, including his brothers and their mates, are a large portion of the book. Reading this, after all the prior six books, gives a new and different perspective on how a long-mated pair deal with the challenges that they are facing.
With this, the 7th book of the series, we are closing in on the final two books of this series. Each book builds on the previous ones, and more layers are added to the ongoing plot. Genevieve Jack has made all the characters a complete separate and unique individual. Each book is well written, and I will be sorry to get to the end. This book is just a part of the series, but it has many important pieces in it. I can’t wait for the next book. I was given and ARC by the author, and this is my honest opinion.

Another incredible tale!!!

With every book that comes out, this series just gets better and better! Each story is unique and I love how the author isn't afraid to take the story in unexpected directions. With Hidden Dragon opening with the hero already mated to the heroine, the plot was fresh and exciting, and by the end of this tale I was even more invested in the main characters than ever before. My only complaint is how I'm going to survive the wait until the next book comes out!!!

the saga continues

And it is a truly magical saga to dive into.
Hidden Dragon unlocked a lot and still left me wanting more.
Firstly Eleanor’s head on a spike lol and yes a bit blood thirsty but come on the wicked empress deserves it.
I want all the treasures of paragon to find their mates and have hea’s and I’m waiting to learn more about the history of the Tanglewood sisters.
So now onto book 8 to see what Colin can come up with to convince Leena he is her mate.

Just finished Hidden Dragon the seventh book in the Paragon series. Silas and Dianthes story was quiet emotional. They have lots of ups and downs in this book wondering if they will ever sort themselves out. This journey continues with the other characters joining in to help fight against Eleanor. I enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book. A very tangled web you have weaved Genevieve Jack. Love your books

The excitement, the suspense, and the evil continues

I loved Sylas and Dianthe’s fated mates romantic suspense tale with a side of a visions and relationship angst. Just like the other books in this series, this story is unputdownable. The book is not a standalone, the overarching story arc in the series means that to fully appreciate and understand the plot, the books need to be read in order. All of the characters/couples from the previous books contribute to this story as a whole even though the MCs of this book have the central storyline. Sylas is a dragon shifter from Paragon, another realm. He initially fled the realm with his siblings to avoid assassination but later returned with the fairy Dianthe who is his mate. They have been fighting in the rebellion together and mated for decades. They are on a mission with one of Sylas’ brothers to locate orbs to help in the fight against the evil empress. To complete their mission, they will need to deal with their individual issues and the issues in their relationship, dodge evil actors, and continue to try to thwart the Empress’ evil plans. It’s an epic fantasy with all the suspense and swoons coupled with all the feels. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, fated mates, steamy encounters, sweet moments, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, political intrigue, plot twists, and laughs. I am excited to read the next book in the series and the continuation of the story.

Dianthe and Sylas are a mated couple and the leaders of the rebellion against Sylas’ evil mother. While they have been together for years, their relationship hits a rough patch. This loss of faith in each other threatens their connection as well as The Treasures’ hope for the future. Watching them struggle reminded me of every couple I know! Who hasn’t hit a rough patch? Ok, kingdoms don’t usually hang in the balance, but it sometimes feels that way! Lol!

I love that this story takes the series to Ouros, the alternate dimension where Paragon resides. This book had new and exciting adventures, lots of new characters and featured all of my favorite dragons and their mates. Definitely a page-turner! Loved it!

SENSATIONAL READ

Ooh I absolutely loved Sylas and Dianthe’s story. Gripped from start to finish, I couldn’t put Hidden Dragon down.
Both are important members of the rebellion against Eleanor.
Dianthe is a very powerful fairy seer. She would do anything for her mate.
Sylus. Last in line to the throne. Adores his mate but doesn’t agree with her decision to help Aborella.
Tensions rise between the two and everything is put in jeopardy.
Can they overcome the rift growing between them and retrieve the orbs?
You will have read this addition to the series.

I still hate Clarissa. Dianthe was a close second. The first half of the book she whines about everything and picks fights with her mate just for the sake of It. She complained about not being a damsel in distress, then she's just that in the end. Sabrina saves everyone, and then Nathaniel and Avery. The tension of the situations at the end completely disappears when someone just conveniently appears, and the explanation is "they came just because we needed them". That kinda ruined things for me.

I was riveted throughout the thrilling action and nail-biting suspense. The discord between Dianthe and Sylus was unsettling and this whole situation with their making-up was done really well. My favourite part was Sabrina confronting the vampires on Paragon. Aborella played an important role and everything that happened to her were a big surprise. The dragon siblings were slowly making progress and I loved how everyone worked together. This is an excellent series if you like fantasy and magic with steamy romance. It is best to read these books in order.
