Dashing Through the No is book three in the Summersweet Island series by Tara Sivec. This can easily be read as a stand alone. I have not read any of the other books in this series. This was a fairly short, fun, crazy even, holiday story that I enjoyed so much.

Bodhi Preston Armbruster had his whole life planned out for him by his father and Bodhi has spent his life doing everything expected of him. Until he realized just how miserable he really was. He’d had enough. So he walked away. Which finds him twelve years later on Summersweet Island, in love with the woman of his dreams, and trying to figure out how to convince her that they should be together for the rest of their days.

Tess Powell is a bartender. She has her own reasons for not trusting in forever love, no matter how smitten she is with Bodhi. Tess is overworked and exhausted. To prove to her how much he loves her, Bodhi plans the perfect get-a-way just before Christmas. A trip to a new Bed and Breakfast that has perhaps taken their love of all things Christmas a little bit too far!

It really was adorable the way these two just got each other. And the lengths they were both willing to go to show each other how they felt was both hilarious and so endearing. The icing on the cake was that the Bed and Breakfast was owned by no other than Jason and Allie from Tara’s book, Christmas Cliche. You don’t need to have read the book but believe me when I say that you should! But for now, enjoy this crazy wild ride and I hope you fall in love with Tess and Bodhi.

This was not for me. Nothing to do with the spice, it was just silly and lacking a real warmth in the relationship of the guy and the girl.

It was sassy I suppose, but it lost me in this.. the feeling was more spite, while they were in love with each other it was just off for me. It didn't ring true.

It wasn't the swearing, it was just like all of the factors combined took away any sincerity. The sass turned the girl into a mean girl and the pot turned the guy into a flake.. I don't know why they both needed hard edges.

I just didn't get it. There was nothing wrong with the writing, I simply was not captured.

I listened to this via the Libby app and my public library.

Absolutely loved this one...

I'll start this review by saying that you can't just read this one without reading the other stories first. I needed to see Bodhi and Tess the way others see them before I could find out why they are the way they are. Honestly, I thought Bodhi was a wee bit of a loser when I first met him. Now, I think he's the sweetest, kindest, and most thoughtful pot-smoker I've ever met. When it comes to Tess, I couldn't understand her compulsion with carrying around lighters and burning things for her pleasure. Now, I just accept it and know that she has it under control... mostly.

I loved that this couple was so abhorrent, wrong and unappealing to me but oh so perfect for each other. Bodhi would drive me INSANE with his immature antics and Tess' swearing would have me reaching for a bar of soap to wash her mouth out with. They balance each other out and make every day something to look forward to. Their thoughtfulness to each other's needs gave me all the warm fuzzies I look forward to in my romance reads.

This was by far the funniest story I've read in ages. I had tears pouring out of my eyes and I was laughing out loud...at 5:30 in the morning. Luckily I didn't wake anyone up. While I thought it would be funny, the person behind the humour was a surprise. WELCOME BACK MILLIE!! I first met Millie in Christmas Cliche and couldn't help but laugh at her privileged and self-absorbed ways. In Dashing Through the No she's back picking gifts that SHE thinks people should want instead of what they actually want. That probably doesn't seem that funny...I guess you have to be there...I mean read it. 😉

Loved every minute of this story and now I'm even more desperate for more Summersweet Island fun and shenanigans.

One of the best book blurbs I’ve ever read – such poetic fun to read – sending me running for the one-click button. This one belongs in your Christmas stocking for a relaxing and stress-filled read by the fireside!

Bodhi and Tess share an odd and unconventional relationship. Bodhi would not be my choice in men -- but that's ok. Different strokes for different folks. A little weird and quirky, but hilariously so, and it brightens the holidays with lots of laughter.

ARC received via author for an honest review

Since the Summersweet Island series started, Bodhi and Tess have been a great set of side characters, best friend of Palmer and Birdie.

Now, whilst I like them, to me they might have best stayed as secondary characters, as, and this is just me, Bodhi's stoner childish behaviour and Tess's rampant pyromania were just a little too much, way too full on.

Don't get me wrong, I liked where this story ended up;but by golly for me it was a bit of a struggle to put up with them. And this is nothing to do with the author or book, but all on me. And one thing that I never thought that I would say, but to me Bodhi was the more mature one this time.

It was great getting some of characters from the first 2 books, and I can never say no to a Christmas book.

I look forward to more Sweetwater Island in my future.

Hahahahaha hahahaha hahahahaha! When I think about this book, all I can think is: Fire! Fire! Fire!, in Beavis and Butthead voices. What can I say, who doesn't love lighting isht up?

This book is so fun! When this series first started, I really wanted Tess and Bohdi's love story. I wanted to read all about them getting together. Before you get all excited, this isn't it. Sorrynotsorry. But, this is the next best thing.

Sivec takes Tess and Bohdi into the Christmas Cliche world. And the way she connects the two book worlds is GENIUS! But we all already know that Sivec is genius, so that shouldn't surprise you.

Sivec seems to get me fixated on animals with her books as of late. Right now I'm sitting here wanting to have a bonfire with a hippo. I mean, that's totally normal, right? Don't shake your head at me; it's totally normal.

This book is filled with laughs, glitter, fire, a stalker, moose, strippers, and fun. If you were unsure of whether you wanted to read this or not, those things alone should have just convinced you. If they don't convince you, then you have some serious issues.

Genre Christmas Romance

Dashing Through the No is the 3rd book in the Summersweet Island series. Readers can read this as a standalone as I did and had no issues following along in the book. There are only a few minor mentions of characters from previous novels. Have you read Christmas Cliché? That book was published last year and if you HAVE then you’ll see some familiar characters. If not, again, it’s no big deal you don’t need to! I would however recommend it (quite highly) because it’s super funny and a perfect holiday read!

That being said, Dashing Through the No is a hilarious Christmas tale about a stoner and his girlfriend who just need a peaceful Christmas. Unfortunately, finding peace and quite at the bed and breakfast they are staying at isn’t all that easy… There are children, loud Christmas music, and so much more going on in this house that anyone could go crazy! But perhaps just spending time together and really seeing how precious moments together in will give them everything they crave during the holidays. Who knows, they may even get more than they bargained for!

This is a funny, and adorable holiday read with great characters and cozy setting! If you’re looking for something light, and joyful (with maybe a little bit of sarcasm and eye rolling) then this is the book for you! I love Tara’s books and this one fits in so well with her collection!

Dashing Through The No (Summersweet Island 3) by Tara Sivec
Holiday Romantic Comedy. Can Stand Alone.
I haven’t been reading actual books that much this year, but I always make an exception for Tara Sivec books. I also love Christmas books, so Dashing Through the No was just perfect for me. While it’s the third standalone in the amazing Summersweet Island series, it’s more of a crossover with A Christmas Cliche (if you haven’t read that go get it right now!) and we get a whole lot of one of my favorite Tara Sivec characters, Millie, who is like Alexis Rose from Schitt’s Creek but funnier and that’s saying a lot!
"My third wedding was in a bathroom at Vin Diesel’s house, and Adam Levine officiated."

I am a stoner, so I especially liked the story of Bodhi, the pothead surfer/golf caddy, and Tess, the angry fire starter. I loved the contradiction between Bodhi's lighthearted, fun, Christmas-loving nature, and Tess's grumpy, grinchy one. Bodhi has been trying to propose to Tess but keeps screwing up. She's been stressed and angry, so Bodhi surprised her with a mountain vacation to get away from the Christmas craziness at home.
"Call me adorable one more time, and I will slit your throat with this butter knife."
"You know it just turns me on when you threaten me with utensils.”

Little did they know they would be walking into an explosion of Christmas at Redinger House, the Bed and Breakfast from A Christmas Cliche, including Allie and Jason, and Bodhi’s old friend Millie and all the ridiculousness that goes with it.

I love the change of pace Tara’s books give me. I love that the guys aren’t macho alphas, in fact, just the opposite. But they are fun and sexy and ridiculous in their own ways. If I had a choice of who to spend my life with, the grunty, broody alpha, or the guy that made every day fun, fun wins, hands-down.
"I love it when Tess orders me around. Totally gets my dick hard."

Likes:

•It was absolutely ridiculous and made me laugh out loud a lot.
•Millie! She is one of my favorite characters ever.
•I will never not crack up during I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.
•I love how the tables are turned and she is the angry alpha.
•The crossovers from other books, with a few cute sneaky ones.
•I really want the Santa Bong.
•Despite the silliness, we actually got to know the characters and what makes them tick.
•Another awesome, fun Christmas read from Tara Sivec.

Dislikes:

•Tess’s angry fire starting may have been a little too much.

The Down & Dirty:
Nobody makes me laugh like Tara Sivec. I love romantic comedy, but Tara’s are over-the-top ridiculous in a good way, without ever feeling like they are trying too hard. Dashing Through The No is Tara’s third Christmas novel, and I love them all so much. She has such a knack for combining crazy with sweet, and she never fails to make me literally laugh out loud. I loved Tess and Bodhi, but I must say, getting a heaping serving of Millie was my favorite part of this book! I hope this comes out in audio for next year because I can’t wait to read it again. If you haven’t spent the holidays with Tara Sivec yet, get ready for an uproariously fun and sweet ride.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Dashing Through the No
is the third book in Tara Sivec's Summerweet Islnd series. This holiday novella was just absolutely f*cking crazy and perfect for Tess and Bodhi. ( warning there will be f bombs in this review because it wouldn't do this couple justice if there wasn't 😂)

Bodhi grew up in high society and one Christmas, with the help of his friend Millie, realizes that he wants the opposite of fancy parties and shallow people. At that moment he decides to jump in to the ocean, literally, and smoke away his worries. It isn't until he meets the take no sh*t, fire loving Tess that he's finally found somewhere or someone he wants to stay put with it. When the holiday extravaganzas on Summersweet Island are overwhelming Tess, Bodhi whisks her away to a mountain getaway. A getaway which turns out to be even more of a Christmas explosion than they could have imagined and while Bodhi's Christmas loving heart is in heaven , Tess wants to burn the things that are jolly.

"What the f*ck ever. This is all his fault for making me have feelings and sh*t."

This story was so much f*cking fun. Brodhi is a goddamn sweetheart who you can't help but love to pieces. And Tess is crazy in the best way 😂 I mean come on she carries a lighter on her at all time to burn things that annoy her. Together they are never ending entertainment, and they are so far from average I couldn't get enough. Even their sexy scenes aren't purely steamy they are sprinkled with a bit of ridiculousness.

"Call me adorable one more time, and I will slit your throat with this butter knife."
"You know it just turns me on when you threaten me with utensils. Stop dilly-dallying and hand me the green frosting."

I'm going to be honest one of my favorite aspects of this was the fact that it takes place in the location of her prior Christmas book Christmas Cliché. Don't worry this is a complete stand alone but Bodhi and Tess spend the book surrounded by all the wonderful characters from Christmas Cliché. So if you've read that book it adds an extra layer of comfort when reading this one.

Dashing Through the No
is a ridiculous, sexy, Christmas packed holiday romance. With gingerbread competitions, matching pjs, singing hippos, and stripping santas, this novella is guaranteed to entertain!

This Christmas short is a perfect holiday addition to the Summersweet Island series. Bodhi and Tess are clearly smitten, but Tess is a tough nut to crack and continues to balk at Bodhi’s suggestion they tie the knot.

Bodhi is well known in this series as the weed-smoking, not a care in the world caddie, but we get to learn how he came to be that persona here. His backstory is exposed in a few key scenes, and though he took a 180° turn from who his father wanted him to be, he is completely comfortable with the direction his life is taking him.

Tess has emotional scars from her childhood that she hides behind a prickly exterior. There aren’t many people she lets get close, and even those she lets inside don’t know the extent of her baggage. She is quick to anger, but fiercely loyal to those who show their worth to her.

A trip out of town during the most stress-filled part of the year is just what Bodhi thinks Tess needs to unwind a little (and maybe make her less likely to grab her Bic in frustration). But what they find when they reach the West Virginia bed and breakfast he booked isn’t quite as peaceful as he imagined.

I have loved watching these two as side characters, and seeing them front and center was certainly entertaining. This had all the off-the-wall humor I expect from Tara, as well as a good helping of Christmas cheer. I couldn’t help but laugh at so many of the holiday themed elements that I would have never expected. This series has always been full of crazy antics, but Bodhi and Tess pretty much take the cake on antics. This Christmas trip is full of new characters, big questions, and hilarious mishaps.

I’m ready for Christmas now. This novella was everything I needed. Tara Sivec has really done her part delivering books that make me forget the dumpster fire of 2020. They are sexy, sassy, and smile inducing. Characters that I can’t help, but love. I look forward to what comes next.

@authortarasivec is new to me, I grabbed this book on a whim and was a little apprehensive because it’s the third in a series, but I figured I would just try it and see how it worked for me. Within like two pages I was sold because of lines like this 👉🏻 “You couldn’t satisfy me if Dr. Ruth was in the bedroom with us coaching you along every step of the way.” 🤣🤣🤣 But really reading it out of order was totally fine, although I’m going back to read the first two books like right now.

Look, I’ve read some funny books before but I swear to God I’ve never read a consistently hilarious book like this one before. I was snort laughing and reading parts to my husband and he was even cracking up without the full context. It was outrageous, over the top and full of Christmassy type stuff and just so much damn fun. It was also surprisingly sweet, and I say that because it was raunchy as well, but I mean that as a compliment because my humor is crude too and I appreciated the style of comedy in this one SO much. Dashing Through the No is the holiday book I’ve been waiting for and then some, I’m now on a total binge of the authors other books and haven’t read anything but her books since, what can I say, I’m obsessed! Read this if you want a fast holiday reading that’s for real funny AF, has some serious steam AND a few warm and fuzzy moments.

Bodhi is one surprising dude

I love Bodhi, and I love Tess for Bodhi. The both fulfill each other's crazy. I didn't think these two would last because Tess was a little uptight and Bodhi smoked weed all the time and didn't seem to have any life goals. But then you get to know their backstory and everything makes sense and you realize the fit.

Tess and Bodhi!
Finally!
We've been waiting for their story for decades! ☺
And now here's their own little holiday novella.
And it was adorable. And HILARIOUS!
Even more hilarious than expected ... because of Millie!
Do you remember her from Tara's 2019 Christmas book?
If not, you need to read this asap ► Christmas Cliché

Bodhi has been trying to ask Tess to marry him for a while now. But Tess is a tiny little bit anti marriage and babies. Just a tiny little bit.
And because she's extra stressed during the holiday season, Bodhi takes her away for a few days to a christmassy little Inn in West Virginia - which we already know from last year's book!
This years Christmas craziness will begin in 3....2....1 ☺

description

LOL! ADORABLE!

I just loved this!
I loved the previous two books in this series and I absolutely adored the 2019 Christmas book. It was so über-hilarious adorable!
And this was just so cute too.
We have slightly (very) crazy and quick-to-set-things-on-fire-if-she's-angry Tess. And her polar opposite boyfriend Bodhi. Former Malibu law-student rich boy turned constantly stoned surfer turned Golf Pro Caddie turned still-stoned Summersweet Island's man for every job.
Those two should not be together, but they're so perfect for each other!
I just adore them.
And the whole crazy christmas mood with über-hilarious Millie in that cute little hotel was just so beautiful.
Netflix needs to hurry and make a 2021 Holiday movie out of this place and its people!

DASHING THROUGH THE NO was such an adorable + hilarious Christmas novella. I loved it! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Bodhi ... this one is MINE!

Tara Sivic most definitely has a sense of humor. Sometimes just hysterically funny, others twisted. Dashing Through the No definitely fell on the side of twisted. I have loved Tess and her fire-starter ways from the beginning of the series and Bodhi just adds dead-pan humor to every story that he’s in … the perfect couple with the perfect ending.

How one person can take Christmas and turn it into a comedy of errors and love is totally beyond me. But, Tara Sivic did just that. I’ll never listen to I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas without laughing out loud again. I just thank God that it wasn’t Dominic the Donkey! But, I really don’t want to give away any of the story. I just have to say that, what Bodhi put Tess through, I would have started a fire too. But, Tess rebounds and shows us a side of her that was beautiful and wonderful … caring and loving … in her own way. And, I loved that side of her as well. I also loved their back-stories, their first date and how far they have both come in their lives.

The rest of the gang from Summersweet Island play a small part in this story. When they were brought in, it was with such fun. Why? They are an eclectic and strange group of people but they fit together as a family within a family. Each of them have their own quirks and it’s amazing how Tara Sivic makes them all mesh together. A golfer with a golf pro, a baseball player and a single mom and now a fire-starter and a pot-head. Eclectic! I am thoroughly enjoying the Summersweet Island series. The main characters are interesting and the minor characters are a hoot. Tara Sivic knows how to put a story together that gives you the feels and makes you laugh.

Bhodi and Tess have always been unique and unpredictable. But now we get to know more about why they are the way they are and get a better insight into their relationship.

Bhodi currently seems like a weed smoking, easygoing wanderer who just takes each day as it comes. He has spent years as Palmer's caddy, surfing and traveling the world, and loves adventures. His past taught him what he did not want to become so he changed his lifestyle. And his current recreational activities also help to hide some deep issues and anxiety. He might have spontaneously proposed to Tess once during an inopportune time, but maybe she did not hear him?

Tess is unfiltered, bossy, prickly, loyal, and fiercely independent. Her own past has helped shape her, and sometimes she is kind of intimidating and unstable. She has a bit of a fire fetish and is not afraid to burn things that bother her. And she is currently not feeling quite herself for the past couple of months. She might be feeling some things and may even be considering a future she never expected to. But it has her all kinds of messed up and freaked out.

These two seem like opposites and have extreme personalities. But they know each other's baggage and accept the other for who they really are...faults, quirks, and all. And somehow they balance and bring out the best in each other while also tolerating some unique behaviors. Deep down they both have good hearts and love hard and truly crave love, stability, and a true home. But at the same time they are terrified of rejection or failure. They are a perfectly imperfect couple that just fit.

One Christmas getaway to leave their equally odd and vocal friends behind in Summersweet Island leads to even more adventures and crazy people at the Redinger House in West Virginia. Old friends, new friends, wild kids, a stalker, and an explosion of Christmas chaos and cheer invade their idea of peace. Bhodi would love to dive into everything Christmas while Tess would be happy hiding out in a bubble, but these two can find ways to deal and compromise. Shenanigans, big decisions, and grand gestures make it a holiday they will never forget.

This might be the cookiest and most over-the-top story yet from this group, but it is fast-moving, sexy, romantic, unpredictable, and full of a whole lot of fun and Christmas cheer. I might be triggered now every time I hear "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" from now on. But it will make you smile, laugh, and possibly yell "WTH?" at times while also making you feel some kind of way.

Okay, so I’ve seen some reviews of Sivec’s books where people say they were just a little too out there for them. And you know what? If you aren’t prepared to laugh your ass off at the ridiculousness of the situations and characters in these stories, then yeah, these might not be the books for you. On the other hand, I can’t wait to open her books and be swept away with laughter and love the characters and craziness of their stories. As someone who grew up in the 80s world of “Just Say No” and now that I’m a teacher, I’ve always been pretty much not going to end up with or be attracted to a pothead or someone who uses a lot of weed or other drugs. But in this book, I kind of fell in love with Bodhi and he is now a book boyfriend for me. I don’t even think it was just his background story, it was more about what he contributed to his relationship and how he did so much just for Tess, even if it wasn’t exactly what he wanted. So yes, I loved this one.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Tara Sivec, for the opportunity to read for you. I am already waiting for the next ARC to arrive in my inbox.

"I do not house freeloaders, no matter how good they are with their penis."

Tara Sivec is an incredibly gifted storyteller who can make you laugh with one line, cry with another, and sigh with happiness with the next. She has several published books (several of which are currently available on Kindle Unlimited!), and these are the stories we need. She has quickly become a favorite of mine. She is sassy, confident and writes sexy stories that are enjoyable reads.

Tess, fiery in every sense of the word, she is an unapologetically badass. Smart, witty, and uncomplicated, Tess sees people for who they truly are and fiercely loves them for it. She is the best friend, dependable employee, and most dedicated girlfriend- even if she wouldn't admit it.

Bodhi, smart, soulful, and ready to live for himself. Bodhi is a complicatedly uncomplicated guy. People assume what you see is what you get, and Bodhi is fine, letting that be. But there is so much more to this man if anyone is willing to look.

Summersweet Island, book 3. Sigh. I wanted this story as soon as Tara Sivec introduced Tess to us in Kiss my Putt. I immediately loved Tess. Her spark, her love, her compassion... she has every single quality that one wants in a best friend and a partner. And Bodhi was the sidekick best friend that had some epic one-liners. So this book is very much wanted, needed, and adored.

We learn more about Bodhi's past and the things that lead to becoming the laidback surfer slash golf caddy he is today. Getting to know who Bodhi is, inside and out, only increases the affection of this character. This book humanizes him in such a way that you cannot help but identify with his struggles. His fears, his anxiety. But then again, we all wish we could truly be as free-spirited and brave as Bodhi. He lives for the things that make him happy. He chooses to live in the moment, cherishing the ones he loves. That's pretty magical.

I loved this book because of the unyielding, unapologetic nature that Bodhi and Tess love each other. They love each other for who they are, the good, the bad, and the ugly. They love each other's flaws, strengths, highs, and lows. It is pure, it is true, and it is real. I appreciate Bodhi's love for Tess so much because he sees her. Who she really is, and he accepts and loves her. He embraces all of her sharp edges, and he wants her to be happy.

As someone who considers themself a difficult person to like, let alone love, I identified with Tess quite a bit. While I don't set things on fire when they annoy me, I also don't allow myself to get sentimental. I don't get mushy; I am not that colorful girl, among other colorful girls. I am a thunder cloud among a blue sky filled with rainbows. So I understand, Tess. Her abandonment issues, her trust issues. Her fear of actually caring what others think. Of actually wanting those "happily ever after" things, and that terrifies her.

This book is genuinely everything I could have ever wanted for Tess and Bodhi. It is their perfect story. Which is to say, it is imperfect because nothing is ever perfect. I enjoyed this story. I loved focusing on Bodhi and Tess and meeting some other characters. I read this book in a single sitting; I could not put it down. When you think you can't love Summersweet Island and those who reside there- Tara drops another book in our laps and sashays away.

Millie gave me Alexis Rose vibes, and I honestly loved it. All of Millie's little anecdotes just came through in Alexis' voice, and it really brought Millie to life for me. She is just a perspective, kind, good human that people underestimate, but she has a heart of gold when it comes to those she loves. I love Millie. I am definitely moving up Christmas Cliche up on my to be read list because I need more of this eclectic ray of sunshine in my life immediately.

Tara Sivec writes such empowering characters. And when you read this book, I guarantee you will be down with BPP.

If you are looking for an over-the-top raunchy yet sweet Christmas romance, then you can't go wrong with Bodhi Preston Armbruster III and Tess Powell.

These two have been causing shenanigans throughout the small community of Summersweet Island since book one, but for the holidays, they are taking their level of crazy north, to a small B&B in West Virginia.
Bodhi's goal:
Get Tess to relax.
Also, propose for the umpteenth time.

With Bodhi in charge, things don't go quite to plan. And despite Tess wanting to burn everything down, earning her "Firestarter" nickname, the time away has her rethinking her vision for the future.

The author, as always, puts her zany spin on Christmas themes, with a wild version of 12 Days of Christmas involving strippers and proposal attempts gone wrong. She even has the best chapter names:
Resting Grinch Face
I'm gonna Comet on her Vixen
Don't Be Elfish
etc.

This was a fun novella and perfect to get me in the mood for the holidays.

Dashing Through the No is a Tara Sivec classic!!! Bodhi and Tess are a hilarious, morbid, and twisted couple. You will not find a more unique couple in any other romance series. Tara has a way of making a holiday book the most interesting thing you will read in 2020.

This is the story that should be read the night before Christmas to fully get you in the holiday spirit. I am obsessed with the characters from the Summersweet series and I know that as Tara continues to write books for this series they will only get better and better.

This book was definitely for all the fans of Tess and Bodhi and I look forward to reading what else Tara has in store for these two as she releases the next installment in this series.

I got personally recommended this and as this author has been on my TBR a long time I went straight in. Being part of a series I was worried I wouldn't bond to the characters. I was also concerned because the main characters were already together and I normally love the chase BUT I loved it! These characters are hilarious, Tara's writing so witty I was giggling out loud. Tess is so unlike the normal rom com character - she's moody, hangry and INTO FIRE. I was a bit scared of her at first, but I actually related to the moodiness loads! Loved the characters, the story was beautiful and that ending - just perfection! Thoroughly recommend. I'll defo be reading more of this series.

This one has many things I've come to expect from this author, lots of over the top things, but at the heart is a couple who love each other dearly. Sure it's a love only they get, but that is the only people it matters to.

I can honestly say that I've never read a love story quite like this one. It's quirky, funny, ridiculous, and an eye-rolling, head-shaking, good time. I won't say that I necessarily fell for these characters, but it was really nice to get a deeper look at their relationship. Bodhi and Tess have been a couple since the first book in this series, and I would never ask for a full book about them, but this was kind of the perfect length. It absolutely flies by, is guaranteed to make you laugh, and can easily be read in an hour or two. The perfect little Christmas treat.

The story follows Bodhi and Tess, a truly unique couple. Their eccentricities somehow fit together, and they've found someone to accept them just as they are - an amazing thing. After six months together, Bodhi is ready to make Tess his wife, but she's not sure if she should take this perpetual stoner seriously given the circumstances of his "proposals." As they spend their first Christmas together and get even closer, these two prove that their non-traditional relationship is just as strong as any other.

It's exceedingly low in angst and a definite feel good read with plenty of holiday spirit. I loved getting to know more about Bodhi and what turned him into the lovable stoner that we know him to be. He's definitely not the kind of hero I would typically gravitate towards (nor is Tess my kind of heroine), but there's something inherently likable about him. This was just the right length to keep the comedy quirky and the mood light, without having to delve too deep into things. These two already love each other; it's simply a showcase of that love and a festive treat for the season. Though this will easily read as a standalone, the rest of the series is FANTASTIC, and I really just consider this a bonus. It's weird, but it works. It's a fun, easy read for the season and it will hold you over until the next installment of the Summersweet series - which I cannot wait for. I received an early copy via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review of this holiday novella.
