I like how it focuses more on the emotional side of the BDSM relationship.
Don't get me wrong. There is A LOT of sex. But even with all that, I found this book to focus more on the communication aspect of BDSM relationship than other books I've read.
I got to admit, I am becoming more and more a fan of tentacle porn. I could understand how it would be difficult to date humans after you've had a partner who has more limbs than you could count and can do so many things with them.
Those tiny chapters that give us insight into Maverick's mind are amazing! I love that they are not full chapters from his POV.

I love the way this series is going... the set up for book 3 promises to be a doozy! You don't absolutely have to read My Cameron first, but it does really help to set up the story.
Fun characters with great chemistry, written beautifully by M.A. Innes - just an all-around great time.

Sweet submissive Trip meets sexy alien Maverick at the grocery store.
Their first date was fun and smoking hot!!
I liked how Maverick called Trip his little human. The care and attention he played Trip was sweet, endearing and erotic. I love how concerned he was about Trip's safety all the time.
I enjoyed seeing Cameron and George again. Their group date was sexy and fun.
I'm excited to read Nolan's story. I can't wait to read about him getting a sexy dominating alien of his own.

His Human takes place shortly after the events of My Cameron and involves Trip (Cameron's best friend) and his tentacle Dom, Maverick. They meet at the grocery store one day and their meet-cute is a funny one with Maverick chucking marshmallows at Trip. Maverick is deeply intelligent and clinical in his approach to getting involved with a human and submissive. This story is told mostly from Trip's POV with a small glimpse into Maverick's musings. Maverick and Trip have to figure out how to make their BDSM human-alien relationship work with some helpful advice from Cameron and George. It was really nice seeing George and Cameron again and I hope Nolan, the cute waiter, will get his own story soon. The ending was perfect and a much deserved HEA for Trip who found his perfect Dom.

Trip wants to meet the man of dreams. If he has tentacles and a sense of humor, that is even better as far as Trip is concerned. When he meets Maverick in the grocery store, it seems like he has finally found Mr. Right. One date with Maverick quickly turns into them living together, and Trip is happy with the arrangement, even if he has to remind Maverick of his boundaries every once in a while.
Trip and Maverick were perfect together, and I can't wait to read the next book to see how Nolan's story turns out. This book set up the next beautifully while also including bits from the first books, so you can see how Cameron and George are doing.

I enjoyed this book for a fast paced and humorous read. The mcs first meeting is adorable and I fell in love with them both instantly, their chemistry is stunning and the kink is perfect.
They're rather sweet and steamy together, with similar interests and always find interesting learning more about the aliens. How their perspective differs from the humans and their ways such as importance of submissives, how they have this desire to care for and protect even too an overwhelming extent at times.
Yet they're able to come together and find a way that works for both of them, giving Trip his freedom with his love for his work while supporting and making sure he takes time away too. The balance each other as they provide exactly what the other needs and wants, there is plenty of hot moments but soft too.
Maverick and Trip were great fun, especially enjoyed their dates at the restaurant which were hot and truly captured how well suited they're. Also catching up with characters from the first book too was really sweet, along with meeting new as Nolan was lovely.
Overall a quick and entertaining read 💕

I needed to read that right now, giving me some much needed sweetness and connection between people. I had read a good part of this in the author's FB group, but I'm glad I waited for the last bits, so I could get their HEA all together and not one chapter at a time. I absolutely adore Trip and the way he responds to Maverick is beautiful. And I loved Trip's conversation in the park with Nolan -- can't wait to see how that story turns out!!!

Exhibition kink plus bdsm win
I liked Maverick and Trip. Their relationship was slightly different than Cameron and George so it didn’t feel like a rehash of book one though both are kinky. I see the set up for another book but as littles aren’t my thing I’ll probably skip it.

Another fun story in this series, we get Trip, Camerons best friend and boss. He has seen Maverick at the grocery store a few times but hasn’t had the courage to speak to him.
One day, while shopping, he gets accosted with marshmallows being thrown at him while he shops. He rushes out of the store after his purchases and find Maverick waiting for him who asks him on a date.

Such a steamy book with lots of funny conversations teaching Maverick about humans, Trip learning about Maverick, and all sorts of fun! A great series!! I also liked the snippets from Mavericks POV in this one too.

I loved Maverick who had just the right mentality and sense of humour to match Trip. It was easy to read and understand. I did find the ending a little abrupt but it did seem to be well connected to the story and discussions that they had had together. This is a MM book containing mature content with BSDM-like behavioural including spankings, edging, a bit of lightning in all the right places, and mild breath play in a D/s relationship. You need to read this series in order.

Trip and Maverick make an amazing pairing
I've read many of the books by M.A. I he's and Shaw Montgomery and there are several that I deadly love. Reading about Cameron and George was amazing, but Trip and Maverick are the absolute best. Maverick is the tentacles alien member of the pairing which makes Trip the human. The fantasy of sexual awareness and exploration with a tentacled partner is fully explored and quite erotic. I really liked the side character of Nolan and I hope he gets his own book daddy. There is one thing I must mention. Exotic asphyxiation is a problem for me and nearly a trigger. M.A. I he's handles it well and although I sort of skimmed over that paragraph I must admit it suited these two exploring their relationship.

This book was a terrific mix of kink, humor, and sweetness. Trip and his tentacled master Maverick made a fun and sexy couple. I snickered a lot, fanned myself often, and then I sighed at the sweetness that the author managed to include. I am not a huge fan of tentacles, but the author made me care about these characters and feel excited about this humorous, hot, and original look at inter-species romance. I loved seeing Maverick's actions through Trip's point of view. I'm not sure which of them made me laugh more. This unusual couple was wonderful, and I will now eagerly await the the next story in this series.

This is the second book in The New Neighbors series, a light sci-fi series featuring alien/human romance with some fluffy kink. This book can be read as a standalone, but reading the first book will help with setting scene for this book.
I really loved this book. Trip, the human, and Maverick, the alien, are so sweet and cute together. Their relationship is really light with a lot of steamy and enjoyable sex scenes. The plot is light on action, but that’s okay—the whole point of this book is the interaction and relationship development between Trip and Maverick. I am really excited for the next book in this series.

Adorable with tentacles
I loved this book. The idea that aliens would come to our planet and not take over or blow us up is great just to start with and then that they would causally be living in the next apartment and want D/s relationships sets up this whole series in a really fun way. The meet cute in this book had me tearing up. I don’t think I will ever be able to look at marshmallows the same way. A quick way to describe this book would be sweet and spicy. M.A.Innes does a remarkable job of getting into the aliens brains and writing how they see and feel things. Lots of fun to read. Enjoy.

To truly enjoy this book I believe that it is best to have read My Cameron first as Trip is introduced and this is his story. I love this world. Trip and Maverick are a great addition to the New Neighbors universe. I enjoy the differences in this story from My Cameron. I like that they have a different relationship style and that they have their own unique way of going about their connection.
This is such a fun and fantastic series. I love how open the characters are with each other. They are honest to a fault. The connections between them are great and enviable.
I highly recommend that you read My Cameron, but you can read this one without issue if you need to.

WOW!!!
I needed this story. After meeting Trip in My Cameron I knew he needed his own alien guy. And let me tell you as hot has Cameron’s story was Trip and Maverick are even hotter. Imagine meeting the one perfect for you. That’s what Trip gets even when he thinks it can’t be possible. He definitely needed and deserved Maverick. And the world they are in is how I’d like us to be if we came across aliens. Different from us yet compatible to our world. Learning from each other. So beautiful. Makes me so excited to see where the author’s mind will take us next.

Naughty but hilarious!
Happened on this author while exploring various free (Kindle Unlimited)“naughty” books during isolation. These books are very well written, and surprisingly, laugh-out-loud funny, as well as being both erotic and romantic. I recommend reading the first of this series “ Mt Cameron” before this one; it will make so much more sense. I also recommend the “Bound and Controlled” series; it is a free bundle right now. Again, well written, happily humorous, and as erotic and romantic as possible. Enjoy!

Even better than the first
Book 2 in this series was wonderful. Trip and Maverick were so endearing together. I liked this book a little better than My Cameron only because we didn’t have so much backstory to get through.
Trip was a sub who knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to go for it. Maverick was a dom who had no problem learning all he could to fulfill Trip’s needs.
These two were sexy and sweet together and I loved everything about them. Now I need to read a story about little Nolan finding is tentacled Daddy!

Worth the wait!!!!!!!
It feels like a century since "my Cameron" but probably because I wanted this sequel so bad! Trip's story was FANTASTIC. Trip wanted the perfect master so badly and maverick was amazing for him. I just loved their budding relationship and the way they worked together. I especially loved getting little bits of maverick for some little micro chapters.
Now I need Nolan to get his. Even if its just a human daddy I need Nolan happy. More please!!!!!!!

Let’s be honest, tentacles as a genre is endlessly made fun of. And the majority of the books are, less than pleasing. But Shaw has managed to not only make these books sexy AF but have some genuinely sweet moments. I’m so hoping we get a third book in this series. The first two exceeded expectations. I’ll be purchasing these on audible as soon as they’re available.

This sequel to My Cameron features previous characters in fun cameos, and I can’t wait to see everyone back in the next installment.

Fantastic book and series
MA Innes/Shaw Montgomery is one of my top three authors. No one writes like she does. This book and series is a perfect example of how see writing hot sexy scenes with all of the sweet wrapped up in great characters and storyline. Before, I would have never considered reading about tentacles but if MA Innes is writing it, well then I am anxiously waiting for it to come out. And then loving every single page.

Another bit of low-angst sexiness. I worried that this would be too much like the first book in the series, but Trip and Maverick are completely different characters with very different ways of interacting with each other. However, Cameron and George show up for moral support, and I even look forward to a potential follow-up that explores a different facet of the fascinating aliens Innes has developed for this SF erotica world.

These are quick, easy, and kinky reads with one of my favorite tropes: friendly aliens just trying to figure out human eccentricities. I don’t have especially strong feelings about tentacles, but in this case I wish the aliens had been more clearly described. I never really got a solid idea of what the aliens look like. I tried to let it go, but there was always that bit of confusion in the back of my head. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re in the mood for lots of plot and character development.

Trip meets Maverick at the grocery store. Luckily, Mav can tell what Trip is feeling and asks him out. They become inseparable after their first date because Mav is exactly what Trip was looking for. A possessive dom who will take control. Cameron and George appear in this book and Trip meets the waiter Nolan in this book. Can't wait to read Nolan's book.
