Bluegrass Ranch #4

Parading the Cowboy Billionaire

Rate this book
She'll do anything to spite her mother and find her own happiness...even keep her cowboy billionaire boyfriend a secret.

Virginia Winters is Kentucky royalty as the heir of the largest whiskey distillery in the state. She's been managing the company for two decades, but she hasn't been able to figure out how to manage her mother's expectations.

Cayden Chappell has been interested in Ginny for months, and she's definitely interested in him too. They've attended all of her social functions together over the holidays, but everything is so stiff and formal. He's not sure if he's getting the real version of Ginny or the one wearing a mask to keep up appearances.

When her mother tells Cayden horses and whiskey don't mix, and that he needs to end their relationship, he doesn't know how to disobey someone as powerful as Wendy Winters.

So he does what Wendy wants; he stays away from Ginny. She doesn't call him either, baffled as she is by his sudden silence.

When they meet up at a gin and gems event at Sweet Rose Whiskey, their explosive feelings for each other come forward again. After a kiss that reminds them both that their previous time together was real, he confesses that her mother asked him to break-up with Ginny.

Furious, Ginny confronts her mother only to learn her mother has an old grudge against the Chappells. If Ginny disobeys her mother and dates Cayden anyway...she'll lose Sweet Rose Whiskey.

She'll lose everything she's worked for over the past twenty years.

Ginny suddenly has a difficult choice to make: the career and family business she loves? Or the man who makes her feel loved and cherished for the first time in her life?

They devise a plan to have the best of both worlds. It's simple, really. They'll take their forbidden relationship underground and out of sight.

Can Ginny and Cayden's love truly survive in the shadows? Or will they both end up broken-hearted if the truth comes out?

This book is wonderful! There was something special about this book, I've read all the rest of the books in this series, but this one was the best one, in my humble opinion. It was full of emotions and I could not put this book down. Ginny and Cayden's story hooked me on the first page and didn't let go.

Cayden and Jenny have to keep their relationship secret from her mother otherwise she'll lose the multi-billion dollar company of Sweet Rose that she's managed for the last 30 years.

So as a compromise he is her escort to business dinners and business sories, she moves to Drake's country House so she can be away from the city and her mother so Cayden can come visit and she can cook dinner for him or they can go out. Cayden loves her 3 doggies so he loves to come visit her too because she really likes her a lot. He takes her horse back riding on the ranch and he takes her to church with him. Slowly she gets accustomed to church and learns the hymns and starts praying herself to the Lord. She feels so much better about her life when she prays. In the meantime she's still goes to her office, has her meetings, and works with her assistant putting together events at the whiskey distillery that she owns and runs. She's worked there for 30 years so she knows what she's doing planning all the events and lining up sponsors and selling the whiskey. Several months before New Year's she goes to the Cayman Islands on vacation and when she gets back Cayden doesn't call her but she doesn't call him either. But months later on New Year's just before New Year's Cayden receives an invite to the New Year's party and to bring guests. So he Spur and Ollie go ahead and go to the New Year's party at their urging. It's Gem and Gin party theme and they are not excited about the Gin but but Spur and Ollie are looking for diamond rings or rings for themselves as they were already married, Ginny it's so excited to see Cayden that she doesn't see the waiter in front of her when she moves toward him and she in the waiter collide and the next thing you know she's on the ground wearing all the canopies on her white dress, They go meet in the storage room and decide to get together again after Cayden just confesses that her mother warned him to stay away from Ginny, saying that horses and whiskey didn't mix. After that they get together multiple times and get closer together and learn to know the real people they are rather than the facade they present on these events. After a month they are even closer together and know more about each other than they did but there's more to learn.

I have been loving Emmy Eugene's work for a while now, but this one was EXTRORDINARY. I felt like I could FEEL Cayden and Ginny's feelings more deeply than the other characters. I don't know if the writing is getting better and better or the story line was just that good! Cayden and Ginny both like each other, her mom and some insecurities try to tear them apart, her mom is very controlling and tries to keep Ginny and Cayden apart. Both are very wealthy so this has zero to do with money. Ginny runs a whiskey business and so much more, Cayden works with Race horses and is the face of their ranch. All I can tell you is that this book is clean, it touches your heart. AND though it is part of a series which I would totally recommend reading all of, you could read it alone and not be lost. no Cliff hangers. and I'd give it 6 starts if I could.

I enjoyed this book, especially the very end when Ginny's mother showed up. It was really kind of sad that she wasted so much of her life holding on to a dislike for someone who had never done anything to her.

Cayden and Ginny were a sweet couple. I wanted to strangle Cayden at one point, but was glad that he came to his senses fairly quickly. Ginny was not old, but it was nice to see her willingness to make a career change solely for herself.

Both Cayden and Ginny turned to their faith when they were unsure. I liked that their beliefs were referenced, but religion was not shoved down a reader's throat. It was included as part of who the couple's life, even as Ginny came into her beliefs after she started going to church with Cayden.

A sweet read full of love, support, faith, family and friends.

Ginny Winters and Cayden Chappell are dating in secret because her mother doesn’t approve even though they are both wealthy, so it’s not like he’s after her family money. But Cayden’s mother was Ginny’s father’s former love interest. Ginny is the older woman in this romance turning 47 in the story and Cayden is in his mid forties. He doesn’t like that Ginny wants to hide their relationship, but when she’s ready to commit and be public things get tough with her mother and he runs. The book also breaks off in chapters to talk about Lawrence and Mariah, who are fake dating so she can go to the her company’s parties to gain new clients that her chauvinistic boss only allows couples to. She should consider suing for discrimination. This was a clean romance that follows up on the couples from the previous books in the series.

Cayden Chappell and his brothers work at the family horse farm. Virginia Winters (“Ginny”) is the heiress of her family's whiskey distillery business, the largest in Kentucky. They attended some social functions together which prompted Ginny's mother to order that Cayden end the relationship with Ginny, which is apparently a personal hatred of the family involving Wendy Winter’s cheating husband.

Cayden didn’t know how to refuse Wendy’s order, so he stopped seeing Ginny. But eventually, they want to continue their relationship in secret. The way things work out, Ginny will have to make the difficult choice of whether she wants the business she is set to inherit, or the man she is supposed to love. Which will she choose?

I wasn’t drawn into this one as much as the other 3.. I found myself taking breaks. While surprising I have liked them (not my normal type of book) I finished the others in a day or two. This one took about a week. This is a sweet series that is was to get lost in, although while each take a different route in the middle all of the relationships so far start the same and end the same. Although I wasn’t drawn into this one originally at the end it left me wanting to read the next one to know more of how the story unfolds for Lawrence and Mariah. The author does a great job of introducing the next books characters into the current story a few chapters ahead leaving you wondering about their journey as well.

That was a lot of fun, especially the ending. There was just something about Cayden and Ginny that drew me in. Maybe it was Cayden’s need to know he was valued; in his work, in his family, in his relationship with Ginny. That vulnerability connected me to him. Or maybe it was watching Ginny hide behind all her masks as she twisted herself into pretzel after pretzel to be what other people wanted her to be. Whatever the case, I loved watching this pair navigate their way to a Happy Ever After. Now, I’m already looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for the next Chappell brother.

Ginny and Cayden have recently reconnected, after a misunderstanding is straightened out. Per her controlling mother, Ginny can't stay at the helm of the family company if she dates Cayden. Looks like they're gonna have to keep it on the down-low. This is a terrific story, easy to read. Like the other brothers, Cayden is older, as is Ginny. I like them both - smart, driven, successful in their careers, and great chemistry together. Her mother is so domineering, and that woman can hold a grudge forever! Fortunately, Ginny and Cayden realize that together, they can do anything.

I have a hard time with adult children still being under the thumb of one or both of their parents, although I know it happens even when billions aren’t at stake. In Ginny’s case it was. Even at nearly 50 she still allowed her mother to rule her life, until Cayden comes along. Emmy Eugene very ably pens a tale of forbidden love, billions of dollars at stake, brotherly love and a love worth taking a risk. Cayden is a billionaire, good looking, part of an excellent family and well thought of, what could a mother object to? This was a fun book to read and I enjoyed the faith portion and how gently it is presented. Another excellent book from Ms. Eugene.

Cayden is one of the Chappell brothers, he meets Virginia at his brother's wedding, she asks him to help her out by going to several events with her, they seem to be getting along well , until her mother interferes.
Ginny goes away and when she comes back Cayden doesn't keep in touch, she's very disappointed in him, but doesn't contact him. A few months later they meet up again, now Ginny has to decide if she wants Cayden or the family firm.
Another great read from Emmy.

Grieving Mother Burdens Her Daughter

Ginny, Virginia, ready to inherit her families land is being forced not to date billionaire Cayden, because of her mother's mistaken jealousy. Camden is in love with Ginny, but doesn't her to lose everything she has worked for. Will they have a happy ever after, or will Ginny's mom win? Then there is Cayden's brother Lawrece and his pretend girlfriend, Mariah. He really likes Mariah, but wonders if she is just him.

Another great read

This book is another slam dunk in this series. I stumbled across the first book and said what the heck? I'm so glad I did. I'd say each could be read as a stand alone, but I'm glad I started in order. This is a sweet, clean read with an excellent cast of characters and an intriguing storyline. If you like strong women and men who can respect them, give this a read!

I love reading books by Emmy Eugene, in this one we finally get to read about Ginny and Cayden as they start a relationship. However they are keeping it quiet as to not upset the balance with her mother. Once they go public the question remains if they will continue as a couple or if it is the end of it.

Another great addition to Emmy Eugene's series. The main characters have deep issues to overcome before they can achieve their HEA. These are not young adults, but are both approaching their fifties. There is a lot of interference from her mother and decisions to be made. Good read.

Very exciting book

Cayden and Ginny has a very hard time being together. Her mother does not like Cayden and is a very controlling person. That makes it hard for Ginny to have a life of her own. This is a very interesting and exciting story.

Corny, trite, empty story line. The author starts another book story line right in the middle and then drops it. So much for a sub plot. Too many brothers to keep track of. Awkward Christian religious promotion forces the ending of the book.
