A banished princess, an unwanted dragon, and a bond that just might save them all. Fifteen-year-old Kalia has her life all mapped out. But then she accidentally bonds with her greatest fear, a dragon. No longer a princess and stuck with a blue dragon, she reluctantly joins the dragon riders. But the fearless Dragoneers won’t have anything to do with nobility, former or not. Stuck between two worlds, Kalia must learn to depend on herself. And to survive, she must learn to trust that which she fears most. If you couldn’t get enough of Anne McCaffrey’s Dragon Riders of Pern , you will love the thrilling ride that is Royal Dragon. This was fun! Since I was only allowing myself to read this on my breaks, it took a little bit for me to get into it, especially with Kalia starting off spoiled, and not wanting to have a dragon as a friend. But Kalia grew up, and there are so many hints of more to explore in this world. I’m looking forward to the next one.
A fun YA read for dragon lovers! This was an interesting story and great for lovers of dragons. Kalia is initially very frustrating but grows as a person as the book progresses.
I really loved the storyline but did find quite a few grammatical errors in the book and sometimes I couldn’t work out who was a “he” or “she” as they were mixed around a bit but I loved the ideas of the story and couldn’t put the book down!
This is a new author to me and was happy to find a wonderful and entertaining story about dragons and riders. This story is full of action, thrills, suspense and challenging circumstances. I was transported to a world I love about dragons and riders. There is an unexpected bonding between an Elf princess and a dragon hatchling, betrayals, abductions and a great battle with a goblin army! I truly enjoyed this well crafted and imaginative novel!
I liked the book, the story line was good and there were a couple things I didn't see coming.
While I do think more attention to editing & spell check needs to happen, it definitely was still a good book and still able to be read. I've read books with many more errors.
