Interesting story.

I liked the plot of this book a lot but I the execution didn’t really do it for me. It tried to be really funny but a lot of the time I would get bored of the banter that was supposed to be funny and wish they would just get to the point. Also, there was quite a bit of bathroom talk and humor and that’s just not for me so if you find that stuff a bit yucky you might want to steer clear.

Not my thing...

First I feel like this happened too fast to be legit. Next I feel like this makes light of the idea that people can be happy single because it paints the picture that they're only saying that because they've been hurt before in the past. I don't agree with that at all. I'm sure there might be some, but a lot of the people that tell you they're content with their life as a single person, EVEN a single woman, actually are. Some women don't want the traditional married with children lifestyle and nobody has the right to make light of that mindset because those people face enough criticism from not just family and friends but complete strangers who feel they're entitled to an opinion on their life choices.
Third these characters are just so judgmental about drinking, about going out, about casual sex, about sex toys and risque positions. It made them really unlikable for me.
Fourth and this one is a spoiler the leading lady starts out the book talking about how she loves her job and then in the epilogue announces how it's so awesome that she quit her job to raise their coming babies, but of course Gabriel kept his and you know that just pissed me off because it felt like announcing that her dreams weren't as important as his.
So yeah this one wasn't for me at all.

Pearl doesn't want to go home for her sister's wedding without a date. So her gay best friend takes her to a gay bar to find a man to hire to be her fake boyfriend during that time. Gabriel's brother has him out for the night and its at the same gay bar Pearl ends up at. Pearl mistakes Gabriels for a gay man and offers him money to be her pretend boyfriend. Gabriel is just getting out of a situation where he was used for his money so when Pearl doen't know who he is its refreshing for him. So he agrees to help her. Sparks fly between them as the trip progresses and soon Pearl wonders if he is gay. When he admits that he is straight she freaks out. Will this change things between them? Can something more build between them?

This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This book will make you laugh. Some of it was a little overboard on the insecurity and the title I really didn't feel fit the story, but overall it read will. Pearl's sister is getting married and she wants all attention on her sister. So her best friend talks her into hiring a escort. So they go to a gay bar and hires Gabriel. Gabriel just for the fun of it goes, but he has a secret. When things get out of hand and Pearl finds out things get bad. Will all her efforts fall apart or will she be able to pull it off? Who know what happens in the end.

This is a fun trope that I almost always enjoy, girl swears off men and then need to produce one for a family function. It was a light read that I mostly enjoyed, though I wouldn't consider it a great read, which come down to my preferences in writing style, plot and character development as well as ability to sweep you into the story. This was my second attempt with this author and I probably won't be reading anything else by her, even though the synopses sound right up my alley the execution just leaves me disappointed.

First of all I find the first person narration "voice" incredibly difficult to get accustomed to (very rarely have I ever enjoyed it), it doesn't draw me in and actually outright irritates me when I have to listen to a character's inner monologue, it feels too dear diary to me. In this author's case, based on the two books I've read, an inordinate amount of time is spent describing the other character's physical attributes, to the point of distraction. I get it, it's normal for character to appreciate the appearance of their love interest, and I expect it to a point, but to focus so much time on it makes the characters seem shallow and superficial.

I'm also not the biggest fan of dual POV because few authors manage to successfully make the characters sound different from one another. One example of this is this book was when Gabriel was describing Pearl's outfit for her sister's wedding. It was so detailed that it was obviously not written from a male perspective. Jump all over me if you will, but most men (I know there are exceptions) don't know a sweetheart neckline from a v-neck, hell, my man would be hard pressed to name the hue of my shirt right now.

Pearl, an interior designer, has sworn off men, after dating her fair share of faithless duds she's decided she is happier on her own. The problem is her sister's upcoming wedding will be overshadowed by her parent's concern over her single status unless she can come up with a date to shift the attention away from herself and back onto her sister. It's a brilliant plan concocted by her best friend, Dean. Better yet, target a gay man to play the part and avoid any possible complications feelings might stir up. Let's overlook the obvious drama and attention that showing up with a virtual stranger out of the blue will garner. Gabriel, a billionaire tech guru is hanging out with his brother, Sebastien, at a gay bar because he needs to get a life and have some fun, according to his brother. An opportunity for a lark comes to him when Dean and Pearl approach his and ask for his help with their scheme.

There were several scenes that I enjoyed immensely, but what was missing was the substance that make a story come to life, the special moments that show the characters falling in love as they learn more and more about each other or the interactions of the characters with the other people in their lives that reveal who they are. All that was glossed over and summarized or touched on in a vague way leaving me dissatisfied because I love falling a little bit more in love with the characters alone with their love interest and I love the feeling of rooting for them and having them find their way to each other. So, while I enjoyed it well enough and there is a lot of potential, this author and her books are just not for me.

Sometimes the best of intentions only end up as tangled webs.

Her sister’s wedding is in a few days, she has to be there, since she is the maid of honor. She has to go back to her little hometown, still single to face everyone. This is not an ideal situation for Pearl at all. She needs to prevent her relatives from trying to fix her problem of being single. Pearl comes up with a plan with her BFF Dean, she needs to buy a “boyfriend” to take with her.

He is being nagged, by his brother Sebastian, relentlessly because he is not enjoying life. Feeling that his brother has a small point, Gabriel allows himself to be dragged out of his house and to the car. It comes as quite a shock when there is a proposition from this stranger, something about being a “boyfriend” for a few days because of a wedding. What is even more shocking is he agrees to do this.

Pearl asks Gabriel to meet up and go over the specifics of this plan, and surprisingly he agrees. Pearl believes Gabriel to be a specific sort of person, that means he is a safe bet and perfect for her plan. Not getting attached and no feelings, just attend the wedding, fool the relatives and they leave her alone about her single status…it is perfect. However, it is also at this very point that karma and/or fate have a totally different direction these two will be going.

Once they arrive at her parent’s house, the game begins and it is in super fast mode. The little things that take place spiral into bigger things, and keep growing quickly. So do those little sparks happening in both of them. Their first evening home has a big meal and Pearl’s dad starts something very embarrassing, and it is off to bed. It seems like this evening will have no shortage of events happening to keep the embarrassing level high. Gabriel is the next victim of this, and there is no hiding it from Pearl. That isn’t the only thing he is no longer able to hide from her, another truth comes out, and it puts a little spin on the plan.

The next embarrassing moment happens during the wedding, but it is quickly passed off as a joke. They finally make it to the reception, which is in full swing, the toast is finally made, and Pearl goes to rescue Gabriel from the relatives. It is when she sees him, as casual as can be enjoying himself that those little sparks ignite. They are able to sneak away, and able to succumb to their passion. Only it seems to be followed with awkwardness instead of sated bliss. Pearl tries to calm her nerves, and discovers another secret of Gabriel’s. This one leaves a mixture of broken hearts and leaving without fixing the damage.

It takes a few weeks, and a lot of nagging from Gabriel’s brother, but eventually he gets his act together and calls her. It takes a phoney reason to get her over at his place, and it is Pearl who actually addresses everything. All the pain from their broken pasts, all the fear is no longer there. It takes a few years, and along the way a couple of other surprises are revealed, but they get their happily ever after.

This story is just lush
Pearl can’t believe what she’s about to do but her best friend, her best gay friend Dean has made her believe his idea will work. So Pearl was in a relationship that ended 2 1/2 years ago very badly and hasn’t dated since, she is very happy to stay single. happy girl!! But her parents are hounding her to find a man. So her sister is getting married and if Pearl doesn’t turn up with a plus one she knows the whole weekend is going to be ruined. And she doesn’t want that for her sister and she definitely doesn’t want it for herself. So Pearl is going to a gay club and find a gay good looking man who will pretend to be your boyfriend then a couple of months they both break up boo-hoo but then your parents will leave you alone because she had gone back on the dating scene. Sounds okay. So they head to the club and this is where they meet Gabriel.
Gabriel hasn’t dated since he was taken for a ride by his last girlfriend. See Gabriel is a billionaire and he feels he’s he’s got the responsibility of his company of his staff of his family on his shoulders so why risk finding another golddigger. He finally goes out with his brother who has been going on at him for ever. Sebastian is gay and loves to party and he hates to see his brother so lonely so he finally talked and come out to a club with him. And this is where it gets a bit weird for Gabriel when a woman and a man come up to him asking if he would like to make $2000 to pretend to be this most beautiful stunning woman’s boyfriend for four days. He’s a bit stunned at first but he finds himself agreeing.
But what will happen when these to spend time together?? What will happen well Pearl finds out that Gabriel actually isn’t gay and their kisses are affecting both of them??
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could not put it down and had to read it in one sitting and well into the night but I’m happy to lose sleep over a story that I get totally lost in. Gabriel and pearl are just perfect for one another but both are so scared of events that happened in the past that it risks every think. Risk them having a lonely future. Can I see what’s in front of them and What this weekend has proved to them both? I honestly could start to reread this book and thoroughly enjoy it again. This whole series has been outstanding and I’m super excited for the next book

Role Playing at Love

Weddings are universally embraced as times of celebration and good will—unless you are the bride’s older, sister who anticipates that her single condition will become the source of anxious family attention which will overshadow the wedding activities and anger the bride-to-be. Pearl, the ginger-haired, green-eyed beauty, knows that her loving, but mis-directed parents and extended family who desperately desire marital happiness for both sisters, must be placated. And, so, in an attempt to redirect her parents’ and family’s well-intended efforts to encourage marital bliss, 28-yr-old Pearl Dale and her best friend since childhood, Dean, plan to give Pearl’s family what they desire—seeing the older sister happily involved with an attentive man. And, while Dean would be an ideal choice, he is disqualified from helping her, playing the role of the devoted boyfriend—he came out to his parents and community as gay when he was 14. So, the plan is to find a weekend date for Pearl who can appease the anxious parents and extended family, but who would not overstep in the weekend attempt to sell the notion of a happy couple.

Dean’s solution is to find a gay “weekend boyfriend” who will not have expectations of a continued relationship or physical engagement during the visit to her parents’ house where they will need to share a bed. He suggests that Pearl seek her “boyfriend” at his favorite gay bar, offering to help screen potential candidates. And, they are successful. Pearl and Dean meet handsome and engaging brothers—Gabriel and Sebastien Wickert—and Gabriel, the dark haired, dark-eyed gorgeous example of manhood agrees to the friends’ scheme—what could possibly go wrong?

Lindsay Hart once more exams and crushes some of society’s misconceptions of how a women and men should act, look, love and respond to each other. Hart lets the readers fully appreciate the challenges faced by both men and women seeking honesty and truthfulness in relationships, and desiring to be true to themselves. She offers the perfect comeback to the false patterns which society, and one’s on expectations, impose on the individual.

Pearl was tired of her parents harassing phone calls about her not have a boyfriend so hire someone to be her fake boyfriend. Pearl had been single for two years and she loves it. Because she had been hurt and cheated by a few of her boyfriends in the past. Pearl younger sister was getting married and she didn't want the spotlight to be on her so, she took the advice of gay best friend Dean to go to a gay bar to hire someone to accompany her to wedding as her fake boyfriend for price of two thousand dollars. They approach Gabriel at the with the thinking that he was gay. At first Gabriel was offended because he was wondering who does something like this to a random stranger.
But because she was beautiful he and his brother thought that he didn't have any fun he thought why not. Gabriel is billionaire software coder developer but he doesn't want Pearl to know who he his because he as been burn before in past relationships and being a billionaire people always wanting something so it's hard hard to know who is genuine. The two embark adventure. Pearl thought that Garbriel was gay the whole time since he was at a gay until pop a boner when they kiss. Then she started second guessing wondering how could a gay man pop a boner. You see they never asked him if he was gay or not. Once she found out that he was straight she was kinda happy because she was attracted to him anyway. It was supposed to fake but more time that they spend together it started to feel real. It was filled with funny, emotional, humorous, lots of laughter, and healing.
They play their role so good that fool everyone. But things get a little dicey once they had sex and Pearl decided to Google him all hell break loose then. She wanted to have more after the sex even though they agree a to a no strings attached sex. But he thought that she wanted more after she found out that he was a billionaire. She had come clean to her parents that they lied. They both was hurting after the separation. But I loved how the author made them reconcile. The epilogue was great I am happy that her best friend found his HEA too.

What to do what to do what to do what to do!?!?! It's not easy when you live your life on your terms but others want you to live they way they want you to. So frustrating! Pearl loves her parents dearly and she knows that they love her unconditionally, BUT, she likes her life the way it is... no drama, no cheating and no heartache. Yet every time she is around her parents they give her the 3rd degree about when she is going to get married and have beautiful babies. In this dynamic there is a disconnect where the desires of Pearl and her parents are different for the other. Pearl wants to be single and she is okay with that... or is she??? If not for her sister getting married and her cousin/brother Dean she wouldn't even be in this mess... what is she going to do?!?!!?

Gabriel is a tall hunk of gorgeous man with issues of his own. It is not easy hiding from the very thing that you desire above all else... to be appreciated and loved for being himself and not his money. A stand up guy thru and thru Gabriel knows the pain of heartache and is determined not to visit those dark shores anymore. When Pearl and Dean approach him to help her to avoid another embarrassing trip home. Even though Gabriel likes his life as it is Pearl is gorgeous in his eyesight and cannot imagine her needing help from anyone... they should be falling at her feet! Yet could a techno recluse step out of the darkness to help this damsel in distress? Will Gabriel dare to reach for the life he knew he wanted but was to afraid to dream it would come true?

This is a wonderfully laid out storyline with unforgettable characters working in symphony to bring the reader thru a wonderful journey of two people existing but not living their lives. Get comfy for this funny rom com that is so sweet and heartwarming with a heat that will melt titanium into goo. I absolutely loved it... keep the laughs coming!

Daring to love again!
by sewsummore

Pearl was desperate to avoid questions about her non-existent love life when she went to her sister's wedding. It was her best friend that suggested she hire a fake lover for the weekend, and in the end that is what she did. Pearl had never expected to become attracted to the gay man she had hired. Gabrielle was not gay, Pearl had only met him at the gay Bar because he was with his gay brother. Gabrielle had been dragged there by his brother to experience life away from his work. When Pearl approached him, he had been surprised but prepared to go along with her plan. It was only when his body reacted to Pearl's kiss that she suspected the truth. Gabrielle and Pearl had unexpected, explosive chemistry between them that was too strong to resist and they agreed to only one night together. It was the next morning that Pearl learned that the man she hired was a billionaire who she believed agreed to go along with her for a joke. She felt betrayed and refused to have anything more to do with him. Gabrielle was devastated, he knew after their night together that what they had was something very special. This was an amusing story that captivated me. Both Gabrielle and Pearl had painful relationships in the past that had left them bitter and unwilling to love again. The chemistry that ignited between them was something neither of them had ever experience previously. Just when they had both decided to try love again, and then be disappointed, was unfortunate and caused them both great pain. Their story does not end here however and what happened later made compulsive reading with a happy ending!

Pearl, 28, is an interior designer who hasn’t had a boyfriend since she caught her boyfriend in bed with 2 other women over 2 years ago. Her younger sister is getting married and a friend suggests she hire a fake boyfriend to go to the wedding with her to keep her parents from complaining about her lack of a relationship. They go to a gay bar and meet Gabriel, 32, whose brother brought him to the bar to get him out after he had a bad experience with a woman only interested in his money. Without getting to know each other she offers Gabriel $2000 to go with her to her parent’s house for the wedding. As they spend time together he finds her gorgeous, sexy and funny and she finds him hot and muscular. After some hilarious incidents Pearl realizes Gabriel is not gay but she still doesn’t know he is a billionaire and she proposes 1 night together with a no strings affair. Will they only have one night together and will misunderstandings tear them apart?

I enjoyed this story where strangers agree to a fake relationship even though they don’t really know each other at all. Over their 3 days together they slowly get to know each other and are attracted. They have both been hurt in past relationships and Gabriel especially doesn’t want to be hurt again. I especially enjoyed the humor and laughed at the situations at Pearl’s family home, the groom at the wedding, and Pearl’s grandparents conversations. The ending seemed somewhat rushed but the epilogue was a fantastic ending for their story.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we Pearl and Gabriel. When this book opens we find that Pearl is talking with her best friend Dean. He is trying to help her finding a man that she can pay $2000 to go home with her for her sisters wedding. Oh ya and Dean he is gay and the reason she feels like she needs this is because every week her parents are on her case to settle down and have a family, or at least a husband. she just can't take it and for one weekend she wants the focus to be on someone else primarily her sister. So she goes with her best friend to meet someone she can hopefully get to do this. Who she finds is Gabriel and only later on does she find out he's not gay. Gabriel is out at the bar that night because his brother tells him he is no fun and needs to get out of his dungeon. You see years earlier Gabriel sold the computer program he had created and it made him a multi-millionaire. During that time he thought he was in love and found that the woman wasn't who she said she was and took paying her off to make her go away. Since then he doesn't believe women want him for anything but his money. Can these two find a HEA or will past hurts make that impossible?

Another amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

To borrow a phrase from another wacky character in yet another romance, the story of Pearl and Gabriel is "simply delightful".
The situation is a classic one: on the occasion of her sister's wedding, Pearl wants to draw her parents' attention (and tension) away from her deliberate choice to remain single after a colossal breakup, so that they can focus on her sister's Big Day. So she "hires" someone to be her plus one for the weekend.
That's when their wacky story starts.
I've never been to America but from my extensive reading of romance books I know a few things about it:
1) the USA is absolutely teeming with billionaires;
2) said billionaires are all well over 6 ft tall and have amazing pecs, washboard abdomens, chiselled faces and piercing blue (or green or grey) eyes;
3) said billionaires also have enormous willies and are capable of giving young ladies up to 8 big Os a night;
4) American ladies all have soft curves, big boobs and long curly hair, and eat gourmet food;
5) said ladies never have diabetes problems despite the fact that they absolutely love anything chocolate, consumption of which at times almost constitutes a big O in itself.
All these things apply to Pearl and Gabriel, but Ms. Hart's novel is so much more: it is hilarious and obviously a spoof on other romance books.
Not wanting to spoil anything for prospective readers, I'll stop here.
But read it. It'll have you crying with laughter.

A delightful story that will tickle your funny bone! Pearl is hilarious with her use of her non-swearing words. She definitely brought plenty of smiles to my face & laughter while reading. Gabriel is a billionaire who keeps getting burned from gold diggers & he has sworn off dating. Pearl's gay friend takes her out to a gay bar to find a gay man who will be her pretend boyfriend at her sister's wedding. They spot Gabriel & his brother; make a deal with him & hatch a plan on how to get her parents to focus on her sister's wedding & not her. Gabriel is having a blast during the wedding festivities as no one knows he's a billionaire & he can be himself. When the truth is revealed about his lies, her thoughts of getting a HEA are thrown out the window. Almost 3 weeks later, they reconcile, clear the air & eventually have their HEA.

An excellent story to bring laughter & romance into your heart. Refreshing where the billionaire isn't a pompous jerk in this story & the heroine gets flustered easily from not dating for a couple of years. Both are portrayed as rusty at dating. Read this one & read all of the embarrassing moments these two go through. You'll love it!

I loved this story. It is not a straight meet and fall in love story. There are some interesting twists and turns as well as a few moments that had me laughing out loud. At one point, I had to read part to my husband because he heard me laughing. It is a well written story and the main characters were well defined and their personalities quite clear. Peral's best friend Dean takes her to a gay bar to meet a good looking guy that she can take home to get everyone off her back while attending her sister's wedding. She really wants the wedding weekend to focus on her sister. Dean walks Pearl up to two gorgeous men who are talking in the bar and introduces themselves. One of the men, Sebastian, goes to the part to get them drinks. Dean then starts in explaining to Gabriel, the remaining man, that Pearl is willing to pay $500 per day for a man to go with her to a wedding and be her fake boyfriend. Gabriel is shocked and realizes that Pearl is really nervous about this and that it was Dean's idea. However, he agrees to meet Pearl the next day to discuss the plans and get to know each other. So starts the relationships between Pearl, Gabriel, Dean, and Sebastian.

I loved this book! The story of Gabriel and Pearl is full of fun and sass and I laughed until I cried! They meet in a bar when her best friend Dean convinces her to get a gay man to be her boyfriend for her sister's wedding to get her parents off her case about being single. They meet Gabriel who is in the bar with his brother and who is very much straight. He agrees to go and the fun begins. They arrive at her parent's house in time to play bachlorette games and Gabriel gets roped into playing too. The big family dinner will lead to hysterics later and was one of my favorite parts of the book. The more time they spend together, the more feelings start to develop and some passionate time after the wedding will have Pearl thinking she might be willing to overlook her past heartbreaks for more with Gabriel. It will all come crashing down when she finds out that he knows she looked him up online and now knows he's rich. His past heartbreak will cause him to push her away but in the end, his brother's pestering will have him calling her up and bringing her back into his life. This will bring them back to their journey to their happily ever after.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Mr. Hired Boss by Lindsey Hart is just fun to read. I find myself chuckling through the story. The characters could be real. They talk to themselves and share their thoughts with readers. Lindsey Hart has written the character voices in the word choices and the pictures that they paint.

Pearl needs to find a fake boyfriend for her sister's wedding. Her best friend Dean takes her to a bar to find one. She is looking for someone with no complications; she was cheated on by her last boyfriend.

Gabriel been used by woman for his money. His brother, Sebastien, drags him to a bar to make him have fun. Gabriel is the tech stereotype; he likes to lock him self away with his computers and write code.

Staying at her parent's house is one complication after another. Pretending to be affectionate is proving a little too enjoyable for the couple and to top it off they are sleeping in the same double bed. Can they both keep things platonic?

Mr. Hired Boss is book 4 of the Alphalicious Billionaires Boss series. It is a standalone that ends on a perfect happily ever after. Truly a fun, enjoyable, recommended read.

The first compliment is that I saw no typos or serious grammatical errors. See those can be a real irritation for me when reading. This story about 2 persons who have been hurt in love and are afraid to try again. Needing a date to her sister's wedding, Pearl gets help from a friend in meeting a totally hot stranger, Gabriel. They meet at a gay bar and Pearl thinks that while Gabriel is gay, they can successfully convince her parents that her love life is solid and that they need to stop worrying about her. Gabriel agrees to play along because, hey, what else has he got to do, and he is a little intrigued by Pearl. Soon sparks start to fly between Gabriel and Pearl when Pearl realizes that Gabriel is not gay, and things start to heat up nicely. I did skip over some of the internal musing of Pearl at points. She became to lost in her thoughts and I tended to lose interest because it seemed repetitive. Overall, this is a sweet story with some steam, some laughs, likeable characters and a HEA. I would recommend this book.

This is part of the Alphalicious Billionaires Boss Series and a great addition. This book was hard to put down once I started reading. The story line has surprises and twists that will keep you guessing. The characters are well developed and likable. Although the book is part of a series it is a standalone. No cliffhanger and a happy ending is always a good thing. Pearl has overbearing parents who are always pressuring her to get married. She's at wit's end and dreading going home for her younger sister's wedding. But her childhood friend comes up with a genius idea. Go to a gay bar and find her a fake boyfriend and hire him for the weekend. That's where they find gorgeous Gabriel and hire him. The perfect solution, her heart will stay safe and it'll pacify her parents. The book will keep you laughing and page turning. Twists like he's not gay and not broke. This is my favorite of the series so far. A great read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a fun story about Pearl and Gabriel. Both of them have been burned by past relationships and believe that remaining single is the only way to protect yourself and be happy. Of course their families don’t agree with them and try to get the two of them to “live” a little. For Pearl this is so annoying that she lets her friend, Dean, convince her that picking up someone in a gay bar to be her fake date for her sister’s wedding is the way to go. They happen across Gabriel who is at the club with his brother, Sébastien. Pearl assumes that Gabriel is gay and offers him $2K to be her boyfriend for a weekend. Unbeknownst to her, Gabriel is actually a billionaire who doesn’t need the money but agrees to the plan anyway. There are some amusing moments with these two and you really want to see them become a real couple but there is a lot of baggage that needs to go away before either can move forward. This is a fun HEA standalone that you have to read if you want to be entertained.

Pearl is desperate to find a fake boyfriend to attend her Sister's wedding. Her best friend Dean takes her to a gay bar in order to help.

He stands just inside the door & spies a good-looking guy across the bar.

Gabriel has been dragged out by his brother to the local gay bar, as he thinks Gabriel doesn't get out enough. After being burnt a few times before, he is adamant that he will remain single - after all, every girl is a gold-digger, right?!

Dean & Pearl approach Gabriel & his brother & Dean starts explaining what Pearl needs & why. She has also not had a great experience with men, so the best thing to do, is secure a fake boyfriend that isn't interested in her sexually. Little does she know, that Gabriel IS NOT gay & likes what he sees!

What ensues is a lot of miscommunication, but also a huge amount of attraction that neither can deny.

I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful read to everyone - It's beautifully written & the HEA is superb!

Well done Lindsey. I look forward to more!

This is a wonderful and short story about Pearl and Gabriel. Pearl is looking for a date for her sister's wedding. When Pearl goes to a gay bar with Dean one night, she meets Gabriel who is there with his brother.
There they make him an offer because they think he is gay, they make him an offer to go to her sister's wedding as a fake friend and they want to pay him for that too. But what she doesn't know is that he's not gay and a billionaire, but he agrees to help her anyway.

They are attracted to each other, but the agreement was that it would be a weekend without sex, the question is whether they can manage that and also keep their hands off.
What happens when Pearl finds out that he is not gay and also has a lot of money?

To find out, you will have to read the book and you will not be disappointed.
The story is full of emotions, laughter, fear and even sadness.
I enjoyed this book and it is definitely recommended !!!!

The fourth novel in Lindsey Hart's Alphalicious Billionaires series is the wonderfully written rom-com Mr. Hired Boss. Tired of having to justify to her parents why she is fine being single, interior designer Pearl lets her best friend Dean convince her to hire a fake boyfriend to attend her sister's wedding weekend. Pearl assumes the handsome Gabriel is gay, and he doesn't correct her - nor does he admit to being a billionaire. However, he agrees to Pearl's proposal after he is convinced by his brother Sebastien that he needs to get out and have some fun and adventure. Two ridiculously stubborn people intent on being single while selling her family on their fake relationship: what could possibly go wrong? This is a hilarious romantic comedy with fantastically engaging characters - who have chemistry to burn in spite of themselves. Gabriel and Pearl's story if wonderfully entertaining and one I highly recommend reading.

More than just a weekend
This fake-to-real romance story is about Pearl and Gabriel. Pearl is after a date for her sister’s wedding. But after bad luck/bad choices with men, she enlists the help of her friend Dean. He takes her to a club and spots a gorgeous man who she assumes is gay. She ends up proposing a fake-boyfriend deal to acquiesce he family and their expectations.
The thing is though, Gabriel is far from gay – but of course she doesn’t discover that for a while. And what a revelation it is! Their attraction to each other is undeniable, and their chemistry is off-the-charts hot! Perhaps they will be willing to give real love a try.
The entire cast of characters, their relationships with each other, and their journeys, make this a really fun and entertaining book. I found it hard to put down. It was a good mix of sweet, frustrating, steamy and funny. I just wish it hadn’t ended when it did. I would have loved to read more. I give this book four and three quarter stars.

Pearl can't believe that she let her best friend, Dean, talk her into hiring a gay man to pretend to be her boyfriend at her sister's wedding. She is so tired of being pressured by her parents and is determined that her sister has a special day without her parents hounding her about her non-boyfriend status and give all their attention to her sister on her special day. So she goes with her friend to his favorite gay nightclub looking for a non-threatening boyfriend. After all, she won't have to be worried about being hit on. What could possibly go wrong? Gabriel finally agrees to be his brother's wingman just to keep from hearing any more of his nagging. He is absolutely astounded when he is approached with a ridiculous request to pretend to be a stranger's boyfriend for the weekend. Should he mention that he's not gay?

I loved this book. The characters are amazing and Pearl's parents are a hoot. Pearl and Gabriel are both determined that karma is coming to bit them in the butt for their deception. This book is totally hilarious! Highly recommend.

I have read many of Lindsay Hart’s books and I have to say that Mr. Hired Boss was my favorite! As far as “tropes” go, this would have to fall under the category of “bringing home a fake boyfriend”. However, Ms. Hart changed up the beginning of the theme of fooling those at home into believing that the (h) was in a relationship. This made the story unique and added some fun aspects to the story. So often, authors like to paint the guy (H) as the epitome of perfection: tall, well built, perfect hair, deep set eyes – not quite human. Hart made the character of Gabriel (H) very human. So much so that I had several laugh out loud moments reading about the situations he got himself into! Pearl was also so likable. Lindsay Hart did a wonderful job of creating characters that you will want to read about and cheer for. If you like stories about small hometowns, quirky families, and characters who can laugh at themselves, then this is a book for you. I would definitely recommend reading Mr. Hired Boss.
