As Reese and Jo sail south from New York, Cami's escape from Cisco's clutches only further infuriates the man, leading to an explosion confrontation that may spell the end for Bee's Landing in Broken Tide Book 4.
*****
When a massive landslide in the Canary Islands sets off a megatsunami, the east coast of North America is square in its path. On a fishing trip off the coast of Maine, Reese Lavelle barely manages to make it to high ground when the wave hits. His only thought? Getting home to his wife and daughter in South Carolina.
Cami and Amber Lavelle barely escape the wave in Charleston, they retreat inland, watching the city as it's wiped out by the wave in one fell swoop. As those who survived slowly sink into madness and the country succumbs to chaos, Cami's goal is simple: survive at any cost.
Another great in this fantastic series by two talented writers. As always, survival is the utmost in this upside down world. You end up holding your breath until you get to the end. Definitely ready for another book.
Backflow (Broken Tide Book 4) - a review by Rosemary Kenny
The deluge that's devastated coastal areas of the whole country, leads to violent incidents among desperate survivors, both on land and at sea, where Jo, Reese, Byron and Libby are forced to extremes to survive piratical acts and the impending storm headed their way.
On land, emergency services and law enforcement are overwhelmed by the scale of crime, looting and where only the strongest survive. In South Carolina, Cami's neighborhood stronghold overcomes attacks by escaped criminals, looters and even a fire that threatens to engulf the community of Bee's Landing...but who goes missing during the chaos?
As the furious storm pounds buildings and beaches to smithereens, Reese must risk his life in shark-infested waters to save them all. What does the Coast Guard tell them to do?
The tension and action in Book 4 makes you feel as though you're part of the action. So well do Marcus Richardson and Mike Kraus write the sequence of events, they will keep you awake and reading all night, to find out exactly who survives to fight and reunite going forward. Grab your copy today and head for the high ground, to envelop yourself in Mike Kraus and Marcus Richardson's Backflow in safety!
This continues to be a good series, but there were some editing issues with this volume. For example, the Naval base in Virginia is initially and correctly called Norfolk. Then a number of times it is referred to as Norfork. This should have been an easy error to catch. I like the people at sea with Reese, Byron, his family and Jo. The Bees Landing folks are also a good group though I found what happened to Cami toward the end to be somewhat predictable. I'm also not clear as to why areas in the U.S. that would not have been directly affected by the tsunami would be experiencing a lot of unrest and chaos. I do look forward to book 5.
These folks at sea and those on shore have somehow managed to cobble together quite a community. Talk about grit. They have taken on a tsunami, a rogue National guard, gangs, pirates, raiders and fire. They have survived and grown together. I can hardly wait to read the next book. I pray the sailors make it safely to their loved ones. And those onshore hang on to the lives they are building.
There really is so much, so much action, sailing, gun fights and incredible characters. As well as learning about things beyond my experience. The authors have created a great story and so much more. There is also bad people who can be good and some who refuse to be anything but bad. Cami is awesome and she grows and learns throughout all of the books. Reese is such a hero! I’m looking forward to the next book!
If ever I have read a series so inspiring as this, I don't remember. The tremendous Stress and emotional times they are All going through is so hard to imagine, but yet everything they do is really for someone else. Am Loving It All. Thank You Author's. Marcus Richardson and, Mike Kraus. Super Great Writing !!!!!
Which branch of the armed services do you trust when you could be held prisoner? What do you do if a community member is held hostage. Do you think you should be the one to make those decisions?
Wow can’t wait to read #5 loving this series. Scary to think that the world could turn that way. So intriguing to read this onwards and upwards. Thank you.
