Redeeming Simone

Rate this book
Simone Rivers was divorced three times by age forty-eight and on the cusp of New Year’s 2019 her mind filled with the memories as she sipped champagne, alone. Husband number one was right after college, a few days in fact. She met attorney Alton Pierce when she volunteered at his firm her senior year and he was smitten by her beauty and sass, his being married notwithstanding. Simone wasn’t smitten but saw opportunities where they existed. Alton was handsome, brilliant and paid, more importantly, Mrs. Pierce was his problem. By the middle of the year he was getting divorced and Simone fully ensconced in his life. Simone’s second husband, Miles Farmer was none of the things Alton was but he had been enamored with her since high school and had a steady income and a house. When Alton divorced her she was given couple thousand per month in child support for the child they had but nothing else. The prenuptial she signed insured that. Her desire to not work while earning an advanced degree led her to Miles. Once she graduated and received a job as a college administrator, Miles was history. The third husband was younger, fun and games. Simone was forty, paid, her daughter was in college and Jacques Davis at thirty three was everything sexy and masculine. That was all fun and games until it wasn’t. She remembered her mom asking, “Simone, why you keep marrying? You can have a damn man without tying yourself to him or wrecking his life and yours.” Mama was on to something. Simone thought, topping off her glass.

Redeeming Simone Indeed!! 🔥

As always, Angelia Vernon-Menchan has brought the heat once again!! This is an excellent read! Simone Rivers has definitely been through it! Married and divorced three times with one child from the first marriage, it has taken her 48 years to finally get to a point of assessing and processing her life to determine what she really wants and needs at this time!

This story is packed and holds your attention from the beginning throughout the end!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!! I know you will, as well!! Kudos, Angelia!! 💜

Redemption and Relief

In this story, we met Simone Rivers, -a young lady who became a force of nature. Some people might have a problem with her liberal ways; I indeed found her refreshing. We knew from the synopsis, Simone would marry thrice; we did not fathom the edict would involve her level of empowerment over each male suitor. Because Alton was older than Simone, I did not feel sorrowful for what he received in the end. Jacques the third was a taker, and Miles the second, I hurt for him. And Simone's mother, Maria, was always there for her daughter. I was so happy Simone grew to be her best person, and Naymor was the hidden treasure that she never knew she needed. I adored her by the time the story concluded. The story was an excellent nightcap for the evening.

Redeeming Simone

Simone was an independent woman who did her. She was unapologetically Simone! She had lived a full life. She got what she wanted. But I feel she meet the one she needed with Naymon. I need more of them!
A very refreshing read! Everybody has a past it's about what you're doing in the moment that counts. Life is to be enjoyed. Absolutely loved Simone!
