Beau Briggs

Exes and weddings don't mix.
I'd never been a big fan of weddings. So when my first love, who I hadn't seen in ten years since she cheated on me with and married my best friend, slid into the seat beside me and announced that she was getting a divorce just before the bride walked down the aisle, I took it as a bad omen and almost got up and left. I should have.

I spent the entire wedding fielding questions about my ex being there and how I felt about it. I was going to leave before the first dance but then I saw a woman that made me forget everything, including where I was...so I stuck around.

Sasha Nelson

Heartbreak and alcohol don't mix.
I've always loved weddings. So when I showed up unannounced at my grandma's house after finding out my live-in boyfriend, who was also my on-screen husband in the soap opera we both starred in, was a cheating pig and she asked me to be her plus one, I figured it might cheer me up to see true love. I was wrong.

I spent the entire wedding fielding questions about the show and my soon-to-be ex, which is why I may have had one too many cocktails before the first dance. I was about to tell my grandma that I wasn't feeling well and needed to go when I saw a man that made me forget any other men on the planet even existed...I figured one more drink couldn't hurt.

Kissing Beau is sadly the last of the sister writing duo of Melanie and Shawna’s Wishing Well Texas series. The main characters Beau Briggs and Sasha were easy to cheer for. Beau is a member of the Brigg’s family, one of nine siblings who comprised many of the books in this series. The last Brigg’s sibling Wyatt will get his own book next August but since he doesn’t live in Wishing Well it doesn’t qualify as part of the series.
Ten Years ago Beau was a budding singing star with a hit song when he returned home from a tour the night before his wedding to discover his fiancée Rachel, his childhood sweetheart in bed with his best friend. After that Beau gave up his musical career and became a firefighter for the Wishing Well F.D. never to pick up his guitar again . Beau also gave up on the idea of love to the point he’s uncomfortable even attending a wedding. Beau is forced by good manners to attend the wedding of one of his friends where he is surprised by his ex Rachel appearing there wanting to talk to him. He’s so determined to get away from her that he steps out with the unmarried men for the tossing of the brides garter belt.
Sasha is the irrepressible Gram Nelson’s only granddaughter. She was introduced briefly in the last book. Sasha has been starring in a soap opera for around ten years and living with her co-star Drake for the past five. In a life imitates art moment she discovers Drake like his character on the show, is cheating on her with the actress Janica who plays the character he’s cheating on her character with on the show. Totally distraught she leaves L.A. and heads to Wishing Well to spend a week with her beloved Gram Nelson, the only family member who has ever really shown her any unconditional love to lick her wounds. She no sooner arrives at her Grams house after her physically and emotionally exhausting trip than Gram drags her off to a wedding where most of the town of Wishing Well is in attendance. When she and Beau see each other from across the room their worlds tilt and everything fades away but each other. Sasha is a lightweight drinker but she spikes her own punch with vodka while at the wedding to drown her sorrows and ease her discomfort at being the center of attention as the star of a popular soap. She catches the brides bouquet and Beau catches her garter. When the photographer asks them to stand together for a picture a drunken Sasha grabs Beau by the neck and begins a kiss that shakes both of them to the soles of their feet in front of the whole town. Hence the title Kissing Beau. The irony is Sasha was so drunk she can’t remember anything that happened after she caught the bouquet including the kiss heard round the world.
With Sasha intending to return to L.A. and get back to work on her series she and Beau both try to avoid getting involved with one another despite their irresistible attraction. To complicates things further pictures of Sasha and Beau kissing go viral giving her ex the opportunity to play the cheated on boyfriend because no one knows he cheated on Sasha and she broke up with him before she kissed Beau. Of course Beau and Sasha can’t resist their attraction in spite of their concerns. If you’ve ever read a Melanie Shawn book you know there’s going to be some steamy sex scenes and this book is no exception. The looming question is what happens when Sasha’s week in Wishing Well is over? Along the way Sasha opens Beau’s heart to the idea of love again and Sasha re-evaluates her life and what she thought was important. Gram and even Rachel as well as Beau’s all knowing mom Dolly Briggs and his sister Harmony are great secondary characters. There’s romance, sex, warm family feels and of course some angst and tension as the day Sasha is scheduled to return to L.A. draws near. As a standalone this is an excellent story. As the final book in a multi-book series I thought it was a little disappointing. I realize that with fourteen books in this series there was no way all the previous lead characters could get significant time in the final book. But I thought the authors could have tried harder to at least mention more of the characters since the story includes two weddings and a birthday party. They didn’t even mention all of the Briggs brothers significant others in the story and I’m sure they were all at the weddings and birthday party. Only Harmony, Destiny, Cara, Jackson and JJ of the previous stories lead characters had any real roles in this story and I just found that disappointing. I’m also surprised that the authors are closing this series leaving two of the three triplets still single. Good story, just not a great way to close out a very good series.

Beau and Sasha’s love story in Kissing Beau by the amazing duo of Melanie Shawn, book twelve in their Wishing Well Texas series makes another perfect match. This series takes the reader to Wishing Well Texas, for one last time, and a visit with Briggs family. When Beau Briggs attends the wedding for one of his brothers, he finds his first love, the ex he hadn’t seen in ten years since she cheated on him with and married his best friend, slide into the empty seat next to him. Not only that, she announced that she was getting a divorce, just before the bride walked down the aisle. Beau then spent the rest of the wedding answering questions about his ex being there and how he felt about it. Just as he was about to leave he noticed a woman he didn’t know and who made him forget everything, including that he was at a wedding he didn’t want to be at. Sasha Nelson wasn’t sure where to go after catching her live-in boyfriend, and on-screen husband in the soap they both starred in, was cheating on her. Grabbing a flight to Texas, Sasha showed up unannounced at her grandma’s house, and became her plus one at a wedding that afternoon. Maybe seeing real, true love would cheer her up; nope wrong option. Being a small town, everyone knew her character and she ended up answering questions about the show and soon-to-be ex. Thinking a few drinks might help ease the heartache, I soon learned was not the case. Suddenly not feeling well and about to leave, Sasha notice a man that made her forget that any other man on the planet existed. One more drink would settle the nerves and give her the confidence to talk to him. Maybe not; especially if it erases my memory of what came next. After these two accidently catch the bridal bouquet and garter and in the midst of a picture, Sasha climbed Beau to plant a memorable kiss that sent shock waves through the crowd. As Sasha and Beau are forced together by their families and spend time together, they soon discover that love at first sight does exist. The chemistry between them is off the charts as is the magnetic attraction they share. When Sasha’s ex comes to town to beg her to forgive him and take him back, all sorts of things go wrong. Hopefully, with the help of the town residents, Beau and Sasha can admit their love for one another.

This story is about discovering what being loved and giving love really is. It’s about caring, being brave and taking that step to open your heart. It’s about the little things you do for another person. It’s about finding your true family. It’s about connecting with the young and the old, with the poor and the rich. It’s also about overcoming past hurts and finding your “safe haven” in another person. I genuinely enjoyed reading Kissing Beau and highly recommend this book as well as the entire series.

This series went out with a bang!!!

In this final installment in the Wishing Well, TX series we Beau Briggs. He comes from a family of nine kids (eight of them are boys) and all of his siblings have taken the plunge and are married or engaged to be married except for him and his brother Wyatt. There is a reason that Beau is still single and plans to stay that way. Having been heartbroken the night before his wedding 10 years ago he has vowed to never fall in love and marry. He was set to be a musical sensation when that horrible night happened and he walked away from his music, went back home to Wishing Well, and became a firefighter. He has been doing just fine over the years until one glance across the room at a wedding reception threatens to break the walls he has built around his heart.

Sasha Nelson appears to have it all on the surface....a job as an actress on a hot soap opera, the perfect boyfriend who is also her co-star, and her best friend. She is set to spend the weekend with her boyfriend and shows up early to something she definitely wasn't expecting to see....her boyfriend and their co-star in a compromising way. She texts him that it is over and heads to her grandma's house in Wishing Well. She is at a crossroads when she arrives between catching her boyfriend cheating, trying to renew her contract, and finding out her best friend isn't who she thought she was. On the day of her arrival she accompanies her grandma to a wedding and it is there that she locks eyes with the most gorgeous man she has ever seen.

From the first glance at each other I knew Beau and Sasha's story was going to be steamy and fast. It is the epitome of love at first sight with these two. Even throwing in both of their exes didn't keep them apart. Beau's world is completely knocked off its axis when Sasha is around and vice versa for her. They both want it all but neither vocally express it to the other until Beau is faced with losing her. Sasha has him writing music and performing again and she finally has a family that she had always longed for with the Briggs's.

I am so bummed that this is the end of the Wishing Well series....it is my absolute favorite Melanie Shawn series. I am super excited to see where Wyatt's story is going to take us. Knowing who is writing it I have no doubt that it will be nothing short of spectacular.

I love wishing well and I'm so sad this is the last book, but what a way to end it!
Beau is one of the middle Briggs boys and has had his heart broken before. He may be a little jaded and distrustful about relationships, but all that changes when his eyes lock with Sasha. Beau attends a wedding after getting off a shift at the fire house when his ex-fiancé shows up out of the blue after 10 years. Beau does his best to avoid her, but one of the ways to do that is to attend the single man group to catch the garter belt.
Sasha has just caught her boyfriend of 5 years and on-screen love cheating on her with a coworker when she runs to Wishing Well to stay with her grandmother. Her grandmother drags her to the wedding, where she proceeds to add 6 shots of vodka to her punch when she catches the wedding bouquet.
When the photographer askes to get a picture of the couple that caught each, Sasha in her inebriated state, kisses Beau. Now, because this is wishing well, of course people took pictures and posted them online, creating a huge headache for both Sasha and Beau. They learn to lean on each other to handle the mess, but still have to figure out their feelings (love or lust at first sight), their jobs, their future and where they live. Sasha and Beau are adorable and watching them fight their own feelings and fight through their insecurities was so sweet. I loved reading these two falling in love.

Sasha is an actress on a popular soap opera who just found out her co-star/live in boyfriend was cheating on her with another actress.  She flees to Wishing Well and her Gam's house just in time for Gam to take her to a wedding. Beau is at another wedding.  They seem to be springing up everywhere around him after a long night at work fighting a fire.  His ex-fiancee suddenly appears after 10 years at the wedding wanting to talk and he just wants to disappear.  Instead he catches the garter and turns for a picture with the person who caught the bouquet.  Suddenly, without warning he is being kissed by an actress!
These two are drawn to each other while dealing with their current predicaments, her trying to avoid the fall out of the break up of her relationship as well as whether or not she would be able to get what she wants in her contract for her current soap show she is on, while he is trying to move on from his ex's old betrayal.
They are an awesome couple who find each other while finding what means more to them than their pasts, hers more recent and his a decade old.  They were a great ending to the Wishing Well series, though I really hope that we still see these characters pop up in other books for a life update.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Sasha, an actress finds her real life emulating the daily soap opera she works in, she decides to visit her grandma in Wishing Well, Texas and gets roped in to attend a wedding as her grandmas plus one.

Beau is not having a good day, he has just finished his shift as firefighter and last thing he wants to do is attend a wedding, but attend he must. He didn’t expect to come face to face with his ex-fiancée at the wedding, but he did and now that he wants to leave he locks eyes with Sasha and they both forget everything but each other.

I absolutely loved this book, it’s a heartwarming, sexy, romantic, swoon worthy romance. Beau and Sasha have both had their hearts broken but just so they could be together. And they are absolutely perfect for each other. I have enjoyed this series immensely and am a little heartbroken to see that this is the last book in the series.

This was a really good book, but I am incredibly sad that this will be the last of the Wishing Well Series. I loved all the characters in this small town and the Brigg’s family antics always puts a smile on my face. This last book is about Sasha and Beau. It was such a heart-warming story. The chemistry and connection between these two was incredible. From the moment I picked up this book I was hooked. I cannot wait to see what 2021 will bring from these authors. Kissing Beau is the last book in the Wishing Well series and it did not disappoint!

Beau and Sasha find themselves in the middle of something neither one could have predicted but it ends up being the road to their happily ever after. The two of them challenge each other to be better people and it was beautiful to watch how everything came together for them.

I'm sad to see this series come to an end but I can't wait to see what's next!

These sisters amaze me with their fabulous stories.

Here we have yet another heartwarming, toe curling, sexy read.  You will feel all the feels and the highs and lows with Sasha and Beau as you follow their journey to a HEA and enjoying the ride as you catch up with other characters from Wishing Well.

I just cant get enough of these two sisters.  Although this is the last in the Wishing Well series I have no doubt we are in for some more fantabulous reads from these ladies.

Amazing. I totally love this book and what a fantastic way to end this series. Beau and Sasha are destined for each other, they complete each other. I loved how they were drawn to each other, no matter how much they tried to fight it. The sense of family and belonging was beautiful and was really felt throughout the book. I wish I could be part of the Briggs family.

Kissing Beau

I don't want this to be the last book in the Wishing Well, Texas series. I love these books because it is so easy to get caught up in the lives of the characters like Beau and Sasha. You almost feel like you are a part of the group. All 12 books were great!

A wonderful ending to the Wishing Well series! Sasha and Beau (*sigh*) were an adorable love at first sight couple. Sasha was a sweetheart who got a raw deal with her ex. Beau also had a bad past experience. It was awesome to see Beau play, write, and sing again.

Going back to the small town of Wishing Well, Texas is always a good time. The Briggs family is fantastic and you know there is always going to be something happening that is newsworthy!

Beau Briggs has just worked overnight at the firehouse and the last place he wants to go is to a wedding, but he also knows he needs to show his face. What he doesn't expect is the ex-fiancee that broke his heart 10 years prior was going to show up. Luckily he's got his family there as back-up and just when he's about to leave, a woman new to town catches his eye. Maybe he should stick around a bit longer?

Sasha Nelson has been an actress living in California for many years now. She was in a long-term relationship, which she thought was going to end in a marriage, but little did she know that her boyfriend had been stepping out on her until she caught him with another woman. Knowing she needed a change of scenery, she hopped a plane to visit her grandmother in Wishing Well. She ends up at the same wedding and she felt like she was living in one of her soap opera scenes when she first locked eyes with Beau. Do those things really happen in real life?

As Beau and Sasha get to know one another, the realize they have an awful lot in common and much of it comes from places of hurt and pain. They're both stronger for it though and opening themselves up to one another is cathartic in ways neither one of them expected. When it's time for Sasha to head back to LA, will she choose to take a chance on what her heart wants?

I really enjoyed this story and both Beau and Sasha. They were both strong characters and while they had both been through a lot, they found they were even stronger together, which was great to see. I always love Dolly Briggs and her "know it all-ness" along with the group of silver-haired women who always know what's up in Wishing Well! Another great one to add to this series!

As we come to the conclusion of this series , the authors give the reader another touching story about finding love when you least expected.
Beau Briggs , a firefighter in Wishing Well, and one of the Briggs “boys”, had his heart crushed 10 years ago. With it, his music came to an end and he never touched his guitar again.
Sasha Nelson, a soap opera actress, is in Wishing Well not only to visit her grandmother, but also to try and figure out what she’s going to do next after finding her boyfriend/co-star, with another woman.
Little did either know that their chance encounter and the spectacular kiss they shared at a wedding, would change their lives forever.
In the end , will Sasha go back to LA to her ex and the show, or will she realize that everything she had dreamed of, was right there in Wishing Well? And maybe it really was true , that when all the doors close up on you, you end up with a brighter and a more wonderful life.
I have to confess, that I will miss all these characters. My wish is that at some point we get a story letting us know how they are all doing.
I was entrusted a copy of this book.
The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I will miss this series! I loved Sasha and Beau’s story. The two had similar exes that wasn’t very nice. I felt bad that Sasha had such a hard childhood. I am sure that was what made her good as an actress. But I know she would have rather had a loving mother and happy family. I am so glad she had her grandmother (Gam) that she could always count on. To her grandmother is where she went when she found her soap opera co-Star and boyfriend cheating on her. She sees Beau who is a hot firefighter and one of the Biggs children at the wedding her Gam drags her to. The Briggs mother and father knew how to grow wonderful children. I know Beau was surprised by what Sasha did at his brother’s wedding and the publicity that happened afterwards. But in the end, I think it was the best thing that ever happened to him. The two have to contend with exes and the problems they cause. But the one thing Sasha finds is people who really care and she can be real with and have fun in this small town. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

A fabulous conclusion to a fabulous series!!! These authors really know how to grab your attention from page 1 and keep you on the edge of your seat till the end!! I love the connection that you can feel between this couple and what they had to go through in their past to get to this HEA!!! I recommend this book to everyone who wants to sit and enjoy a beautiful love story that will have you smiling, swooning and rooting this couple on!! I am sad to say goodbye to Wishing Well but hope I will get glimpses of them in other books!! Run out today and grab your copy!! You will not be disappointed!!

I’m so sad to say goodbye to Wishing Well, Tx. I loved Sasha and Beau together. From the moment they saw each other everything else in the world ceased to exist. Daytime soap opera star Sasha finds her boyfriend of 5 years cheating on her so instead of going on vacation with him she picks up and visits her grandmother in Texas. Beau has locked his heart up so tight since he found his fiancé cheating on him the night before their wedding 10 years ago. 10 years later she is back and getting a divorce and wanting to talk to him. Beau has locked up so much will he be able to move on and be the man Sasha deserves? Such a great book

So sad to be leaving Wishing Well Texas. I loved the little town and the people. I usually hate insta love stories but this one just worked. Beau and Sasha complete each other so beautifully. Both have been cheated on and glad they got the HEA's. Will miss Wishing well but looking forward to Wyatt's story next year. Thanks for another great series ❤

A real attention getter!

Let me tell you, Melanie Shawn does it again. She is one of the best authors when it comes to writing series of books. This one really threw me for a loop. The drama was out-of-this-world. But, as always, there is a happy ending.

"Everyone is a star in the movie of their life, and we write our own scripts!" {Quote}

The truth was, Sasha loved telling stories, but she hated fame. She'd spent hours, days, even weeks or months of her life walking away from it and starting a new life. All she ever really wanted in her life was a family. Something she'd never had.

Sasha comes to visit her 'Gam' in Wishing Well Texas and she no more steps in the door and she is attending a wedding with her, one of Maisy and Bentley Briggs. She doesn't want to go, but in the end, Sasha is glad she did.

It's time for the bouquet throwing and guess who catches it. Beau Briggs was watching the woman who'd taken his breathe away holding the flowers close to her chest. Sasha Nelson.

Her real-life boyfriend Drake cheated on her with the actress that plays the nurse Janika on 'Sunset Bay.' Beau could relate to what Sasha was feeling; the same punch in the gut he'd felt at the time.

Harmony had a way of cheering up her brother Beau up. She'd been the one to get him out of his funk after his relationship with Rachel went up in flames. Harmony had been the one to persuade Beau to become a fire fighter. Firefighting gave him his life back.

"Oh no!" Exes and weddings don't mix. "What is she doing here?"

Rachel came back to town like nothing happened, showing up at Bentley and Maisy's wedding. Serious words start to fly at the wedding reception. But Harmony being Harmony doesn't hold her tongue for no one. She's doing it for fun. (I think Melanie needs to write a book that overlaps Vivien Wells from Brewed Awakenings and Harmony in Wishing Well. I think it would be a blast!)

Where did Rachel get off thinking she could show up after ten years and Beau would still be at her beck and call? It wasn't going to happen.

Now it was time for throwing the bride's garter, so about eight guys lined up including Beau. Only one of his single brothers got in line. The others didn't want to be next in line to get married.

Guess who caught the damn garter? Now it was time for pictures of Sasha and Beau without knowing each other. Who knew she would lay a big kiss on him? Now all hell breaks loose!

After the pictures were done.... a lot of pictures other than the photographer, their gaze met, the same perceptions flooded through them, but this time it was even more powerful than the first.

"When you're walkin' a tight rope, the last thing you should do is start running." (Quote)

The night before was hazy. Was there a good chance that Sasha only imagined what happened? Maybe she was just dreaming. How did she get back to Gam's house? She'd hoped she hadn't gotten behind the wheel of her car.

"Deliver muffins."
"Be there by eight."
"The bake sale."
"The fire station."
"Apologize to Beau?"
"Who's Beau?"

Sasha is already running late. She had to be at the fire station before eight in the morning. But there he was - their eyes locked - the same man now wearing the department T-shirt with the logo on the left side of his chest and cargo pants. 'Oh, Sweet Mother of Pearl!' His hands were resting above his head on the doorframe. He had a body that was much appreciated.

Now all of the puzzle pieces were fitting together, but Sasha still didn't have the whole picture. Wishing Well is a small town and there he was!

"Do you think they suffered from the same afflictions?" I think Gam is a matchmaker!

Beau couldn't believe what he was seeing. He hadn't stopped thinking about her and now Sasha is standing in front of him, at the fire station. With muffins. She's one week early.

They had shared the most spectacular kiss that was so intimate it had happened in a room filled with over a hundred people. Sasha didn't remember kissing beau. "I was drunk." "I was upset." Oh, really?"

"You tripped and your tongue fell down her throat!" Quoted by Dixie Briggs, Beau's mother.

Beau's life had turned into something he didn't even recognize. The media frenzy around that damn kiss was unbelievable. People wanted interviews, statements, and music managers and his song "You're My Heartbeat" was charting again.

The last thing Beau and Sasha wanted was to be with their exes. They had been cheated on and although his had happened years ago, they were both dealing with the aftermath this week when Rachel showed up and then Drake making an ass of himself, even taking selfies of himself; trying to capitalize on Sasha's sick grandmother.

Sasha and Beau had a connection like nothing they had ever imagined and there was nothing that was going to change that. Twelve weeks later - Sasha was staying in Wishing Well, going to marry Beau and have his baby.

I hope you enjoy this book and continue to read the rest of this amazing series of books. You won't be disappointed. Brewed Awakenings, Hope falls, Whisper Lake are just some of my favorite series. My next book to read: "Forever and Always" Hope Falls: McGuire Family Book 1. Happy reading!

Kissing Beau is a cute story. It has all the characteristics to a great story with of course a HEA.
Beau is a gorgeous man that at one time believed in love and happily ever after. But 10 years ago, he had the unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on how you look at it) luck of walking in on his longtime girlfriend Rachel and his best friend in bed together. Now 10 years later Rachel is back in town with the big news that she is getting a divorce from the man she had cheated on Beau for.
Sasha, an actress, came home early one day to surprise her boyfriend, Drake, of 5 years to find him having sex with another co-star of theirs. Sasha left town with only a text to Drake saying they were through. Sasha heads to Wishing Well to stay with her grandma (Gam) for a short stay to get her head straightened out and figure out what she is going to do now. While there and attending a wedding, she decides to spice up her drink with some alcohol shots she has in her purse. Before she knows it, she is among the woman trying to catch the bride’s bouquet, which she does. When asked to take a picture with the man who caught the garter, she does the unthinkable. Kissing a complete stranger doesn’t phase her because in the morning she will not remember anything that happened tonight.
Sasha wakes up the next morning hung over and unsure of what all happened the night before. When Sasha’s Gam asks her to take the muffins to the fire station to drop them off for the bake sale they are having, she doesn’t recognize Beau, the man she practically attacked at the wedding, kissing him senseless.
Will Beau forgive Rachel and give her another chance, or will he spend some time getting to know a woman who caught him off guard and is making him feel things he hasn’t felt in the last 10 years. Will Beau and Sasha decide it’s worth putting their hearts on the line again for a chance at a HEA.

Kissing Beau!

Kissing Beau by Melanie Shawn is the 12th book in the Wishing Well, Texas Series.

Beau was ready to marry his sweetheart when he discovers her and his best man fooling around 1 day before their nuptials. That was 10 years ago! Now here he was, just coming off a night at the firehouse. He wasn’t looking forward to the wedding, and was looking to escape early. But then, his ex shows up at the wedding! He hasn’t seen her in 10 years! Now she wants to talk with him? Nope! Nuh-uh!

Sasha was an actress who was dating her on screen boyfriend, for the past 5 years. They were scheduled to go on vacation, when Sasha surprises her boyfriend. Or rather, he surprises her! He’s fooling around with his other co-star, Sasha’s friend! She snaps a photo and runs to Wishing Well to get comfort with her grandmother. The first thing they do, attend a wedding of course!

When Beau and Sasha lock eyes at a wedding neither want to attend, it’s only the beginning! They then lick lips for a photo, but Sasha doesn’t Romberg it at all! She was a little drunk, after pouring airplane bottles of vodka into her punch. She soon learns, Gam and her friends are great matchmakers, and, her life is becoming very much like the soap opera she acts in!

This was one of the best books the ladies who make up Melanie Shawn have written. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the beginning to end. I was so glad to see Sasha start accepting true friends in her life and recognize what makes her happy vs. Just existing. And seeing Beau open his heart to love was another great experience. Another, fun-filled positive book in a time where we need more uplifting stories like this.

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.

Ten years ago, Beau Briggs’ music career was just getting off the ground when Beau caught his best friend and his fiancé cheating, the night before the wedding. Beau put his guitar away and hadn’t touched it since. He moved back to Wishing Well, TX, became a firefighter and started a new chapter of his life. He certainly didn’t live the life of a monk, but he had no interest in getting involved with another woman for more than a quick roll in the hay.

Sasha Nelson is a soap opera star in the middle of an actor’s nightmare. Her contract is up and she wants more creative say in her character’s roll, equal pay as a female lead, and her life NOT to imitate her art. Her boyfriend is also her romantic lead in her show. She is being cheated on in life and on the program. Instead of the romantic beach getaway they had planned, Sasha goes home to Wishing Well so spend some time with her Gam.

One of Beau’s best buddies is getting married, and even though Beau is “allergic” to weddings, he must attend. Sasha is dragged to the wedding by her Gam, where she proceeds to mix several mini bottles of vodka with her punch to make the event pass and to dull her heartache. But when Sasha catches the bouquet and Beau catches the garter, things get hot and heavy quickly. When the photographer asks them for a picture, Sasha plants a big one on Beau, and of course, since Sasha is a soap opera star, the picture immediately goes viral. What a mess! Her career is in a shambles, her personal life is upended, and she’s kissing a handsome stranger in front of a room filled with strangers.

This was another great story by Melanie Shawn. I loved the heat between the characters. Thanks for the trip back to Wishing Well.
