Kicking Up Steam
Mandy Varoni has sworn off men for all of eternity. You would too if you'd had your heart broken, and your life shattered, the way she did. Nathan Tyler, you sexy sexy man - I can’t even!
After an absolutely nasty separation Mandy Varoni moved across the country to start her life over.
Mandy is a teacher for 8 year olds, an absolute sweetheart who cares maybe a little too much - but she truly just wants to connect and be there for these young little darlings.
She enjoys spending quality time doing extracurricular activities with her students outside of the classroom, so when her student Tanner invites her to his Soccer practice she doesn’t say no - soccer is Mandy’s choice of sports, as she used to play professionally.
Nathan is the coach of the U8-9 team, and he is so enamoured with Mandy when they meet, he becomes rather speechless.
Their chemistry, banter and sexual compatibility is so good.
This is an incredible romance, with so much steam 🥵

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Getting to know Mandy and Nate was so warming. Mandy was a little bit broken from her previous relationship and a falling out with her family. And Nate was a serial dater since he was heart broken by his first girlfriend. The two of them begin their bond of soccer and the fact that Nate’s nephew is Mandy’s student and from there the relationship really flourishes. Nate may just be one of the sweetest men ever and the way he cares for Mandy is so beautiful.
On top of the adorable bond that is growing between them, the steamy scenes were great.
I honestly couldn’t put the book down and look forward to the next book by Kaye.

I was gifted this book from voracious readers and it was a good love story, I think my only confusion was why the very perfect Nate had been single for so long, his high-school heart break was no where near on the level of Mandys.

I have recently read a few book that have been out of my genre but when I started this book I remembered why I liked the chick lit/ steamy romance books so much.
Our two protagonists are one very hot male but a serial dater and a rather detached woman who has had a nasty break up of a previous relationship.
This beautiful book is all about how they meet and then fall in love. A fair bit of steamy sex ensues along the way.
I enjoyed going back to this genre so much that I read this book in one day. ( It's just gone midnight here in London but I finished it before the midnight chimes!)
A really great read and will make you smile with the characters adventures. So well worth the read.

It was ok
Not usually a sports fan reader, but the blurb looked interesting and so here I am.....
Mandy moved away from heartbreak and her family, she decided once away she would devote her life to the kids she taught, she didn’t need love!
Nathan grew up with a loving family, but when grief tore the family up, he devoted his time and energy to his family.
Making a name for himself in the town for his gym, Nathan decided the only companionship he needs is one night stands!
I’m still not a sports fan, but this was pretty good. It explains soccer in a way that wasn’t boring.
But the thing that grabbed me and kept me reading was the main characters Nathan and Mandy.
They were so dedicated to there that they needed their own happy ending.
Reading their story made me smile for most of the book. Both were attracted to one another, but neither would commit.
They shared so many likes it was almost as if they were made for one another.
But Mandy’s fear of being hurt and Nathan’s fear of commitment is the one thing keeping from admitting their true feelings for one another!
So when an incident at school puts Mandy in an awkward position, she does the only thing she can. She ends it with Nathan!
Can Nathan convince Mandy he wants her forever? Or will she just remember that love hurts and it’s not worth it?
I had to admit, when the writer isn’t talking with the characters it feels a little stilted, very wooden and almost script like! In places it really dragged!
