ELLE He knows. Marcus knows. He uncovered my biggest secret and then I buried it with more lies. He thinks I turned my back on him, now it's his turn to turn his back on me. With his brothers by my side, I'm not sure he will ever be able to forgive me? How far will he go to uncover my truth and what happens when he finds my hands covered in blood? I won't stop my path to vengeance, not even for him. But will he still want to be mine when I make those who hurt me bleed?
MARCUS She lied. I thought I knew her but I was wrong. My little King is nothing but a little traitor. I fell in love with her and she fell in love with her best friend. I guess we weren't meant to be afterall. How can I trust her after everything she did? The lies, the secrets, the betrayals. Maybe this isn’t love burning through my veins, maybe it’s hate. She wants to shut me out, but I’m done letting her have her way. I won’t stop until I uncover every last one of her truths.
Fractured friends, Broken bonds and alleged alliances.
The secrets are coming out and the blood is pouring. Revenge is a dark path and the bodies are piling up. Whose side will you take?
O.M.G! I can't wait until book 3. This series keeps getting better and better!!
Elle is 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 you want in a heroine. She is strong, beyond faithful to the people she let's into her guarded heart and determined to fix all the wrongs. She is hellbent on destroying all who have wronged her - and I'm standing right beside her.
Her circle of family and friends are fierce. They all love her unconditionally and her back every step of the way in her plan. Marcus is her everything. Asher is her person. Jace is her shining light in the darkness. Lincoln is her protector. Logan is so awesome and a great addition to the story. I am beyond intrigued with him and the dynamic with Asher and Lincoln.
I need book 3 in my life... NOW!! That ending... ugh!
If you're looking for a strong, caring and badass fucking FMC, you'll find one here. Elle continues to showcase her deadly skills, heart and goddamn patience.
I tried to give Marcus a chance in the last book, telling myself, he's been through some shit, let him be. But fuck that low battery dildo! Dude, first of all, takes forever to fuck our girl. Like, you're supposed to be this BDE king and just nothing for a long slow fucking burn. His whining and mistrust becomes a constant outfit for him, where giving a fuck didn't go with mine. It was too much, like fucking chill dude, ask your questions or fuck off. If it wasn't for him FINALLY giving her a good dicking, (his dirty talk, um, yes!) he would've been the ignorant bag of expired meat of the story. There was no use for him.
We meet Logan in this story and...I just can't. I want him in my life. Him and Lincoln and Asher. Holy shit. Just. Holy. Fucking. Shit.
You get some really awesome action scenes, the author does not fucking disappoint. The villains of the story are straight up dicks and you're rooting for the worst deaths. We get our toes dipped in a revenge death scene, and now I'm craving the whole pool of blood for the next one. The best part was how calm Elle was, goddamn, this girl is cool!
Also, if find that cliffhanger masters class, where these fucking authors keep breaking your heart at the end of the books (fucking Tate, Adaline and now this fucker), I will burn that damn class down. You're all fuckers for doing me like this!
This story continues the group's designs against the organized crime of which Elle was a victim and the settling of Elle and south side Rebel, Marcus' "River's," romance. In this journey, a number characters, both family members and friends alike, are introduced and unite in reconnaissance and retribution. Expect some push and pull in the romance department, some jealousy, new characters, darkness, and loving camaraderie within the group. Elle is fierce while the boys show huge devotion.
Still a great storyline with grittiness and mystery, power dominance on their venture of revenge with characters distinct in personality. The characters from the guys to the family were likable, diverse, alpha, and devoted: Marcus, the hero; Jace, the pretty boy; Linc, superman; and one of my favorites, Asher, the dark prince / psycho to Elle's parents and brothers, Zack and Logan, the latter another favorite.
The book had significant editing / grammatical issues that were distracting. Also, the story read rather long as some details absolutely did not add to the plot line, either from restatement in different points of view or over descriptive transitions scenes / tasks. Additionally, a bit of heroine fawning from all the characters, which made the book seem like an unconventional reverse harem rather than a balance of focus on the main characters, though the main characters had their time. A lot of juicy sexual tension, build up, and jealousy, but no steam until more than halfway through the book, especially after the clean romance of book 1. This wasn’t a well-written slow burn; it was just drawn out. When the steam finally took off, though, it was explosive, including the off-the-charts MM scene.
Overall, great intrigue, but unwarranted slow to the plot of losing interest. I could have better enjoyed the plot line since I liked the characters, but the writing quality left much to be desired. Lots of filler. The outcome of the cliffhanger was expected.
Been waiting for this book since I finished the first. Let me say I am not disappointed at all. There is so much happening in this book and I still couldn’t get enough. Between the scheming, growing relationships, and vengeance being served I struggle to put this book down. Cursing my work and responsibilities for making me take breaks.
The book starts right where it left off. There was a brief fallout between Marcus with Elle, and his brothers in the beginning. Elle thinks she is protecting him by not telling him the truth and Marcus leaves town angry. He eventually sees he is missing something and seeks out Elle for answers. She finally tells him everything. I am so happy that everyone knows what happened and there are no more secrets between the group. Elle becomes part of the Rebels and they make such a great team. All the guys care for her and will do anything to protect her as she will for them. There is a lot more action and violence in this one. Now that everyone is on the same page they are able to work together to take down the real enemies. We see sides of them we didn’t see in the previous books. I loved Elle’s fierceness and her dark side. Definitely have a little crush.
Marcus and Elle finally embrace their feelings and watching them open themselves up and put their walls down was beautiful. You can feel their love and desire for each other. Marcus accepts Elle and her new life. He is there for her when she needs him the most and can read her better than she can herself at times. Elle finally lets him into her world and accepts his help. I just want to say there is some serious steam in this book so you might need to have a fan nearby.
We also find out about Jace and Lincoln’s backstory. They both have such heartbreaking childhoods and it makes their bond so much more special. I can’t wait to learn more about Lincoln. He is one of my favorites and I’m eager to find out what happened to make him the way he is. All these characters are strong even after all they’ve been through. I enjoyed that we got to see things from all their POVs. It makes it so much easier to understand them and see why they are the way they are.
We are introduced to Logan, Elle’s adopted brother. He is such a riot and I couldn’t help but love him from the moment he made his appearance. I hope we get more of him in the next book. There seems to be a triangle of sorts brewing and I am 100% here for it. We also have some touching moments with Elle’s family and their acceptance of her Rebels. Jace and Mama Helen made me tear up a bit at one point. I’m rooting for Jace and Taylor to happen.
I can’t wait until book three when everything comes together. I want to see the villains brought down and for blood to be spilled. The cliffhanger was just cruel so I’m hoping G.N. Wright doesn’t make us suffer for too long for the next book, but I know it will be worth the wait. To anyone waiting to read this series until all the books are out you are missing out. Trust me these books are worth reading right away.
Ummm.... G.N. Wright- this book was fire!!! I am getting more and more excited just to think that this is Wright's first ever published series. You wouldn't have ever known! And that cliffhanger!
I’ve written and deleted this review a couple times, because when it comes down to it, I don’t want to spoil a single thing. That is part of what makes this story so incredible- the anticipation of discovering what happens when Marcus finds out about Elles' secret and when he finds out the truth about what really happened 3 years ago. I can’t really dive into the literary magic with much specificity without risking spoiling it, so this review will be shorter than normal and incredibly vague. But know this- this story is literary genius.
"There is only one girl in this world who is perfect for me and I am looking right at her. She shouldn't want me, I for sure, don't fucking deserve her, but god, do I fucking want her. I want her more than my next fucking breath." -Marcus
Gahh! I love Marcus! Under all of that anger and hatred, is a broken man who just makes you want to hug the heck outta him. Although, at times I wanted to smack him upside the head, you just cant help but love him. And when Marcus pulls his head out of his ass he'll be the sweet possessive asshole you'll love!
I usually read reverse harem and although I prefer it, I love how the rebels and Elle don't need to be in a relationship romantic wise. I like the fondness, tenderness, and devotion that Zack, Lincoln, Jace, and especially Asher display towards Elle.
Can't wait for the next book in Marcus and Elle's story!
I received an ARC copy and am leaving an honest review :)
So much enjoying this series! If you're looking for a book with lots going on, steam, feelings, AND A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO THROW YOUR KINDLE...then you should try this one.
There are still some editing issues that need sorted...but I was able to look past them as I was enjoying the story too much.
Very glad I waited until completion to read, or that cliffy would have done me in. 😆
That ending!!! Noooo! Oh! My! Gosh! First off, this book is fantastic! Heck the series is amazing! Each book has blown me away!!! I have laughed, cried, swooned wicked hard and devoured ever word that G.N. Wright has written!
This story has so many twists and turns! And that ending! Holy oh my gosh, that ending!!! I have had this book but held onto to read it for a bit as I am impatient when it comes to cliffhangers and this one is a doozy! I have knots in my stomach!!! Luckily book three comes out in two days! Yay! Bring it on!!!
This book is entertaining, it keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first words you read. So much goes on but it is easy to follow and you get sucked in, wanting no strike that, needing to know what will happen next! And though the book has dark and twisty moments, there are fun lighthearted moments too. The steam level in this book was wicked kicked up a notch and I than G.N. Wright for that (can you say Lincoln, holy hotness)! All the characters blew me away. Elle is fierce and sassy but also fun and inspiring. The guys this book were extra phenomenal! Marcus, Jace, Asher, Lincoln, Zach and a new hottie Logan comes to play and brings the fun!
This is an amazing must read!!! These books deserve all the praise! If you love a great dark and twisty book with lots of alpha males and an amazing audacious female lead then look no further, read this book!
This is the second book of the Black Hallows series and wow, wow, WOW, what a follow up from Revival of a King. I don't know what to think of that ending. I always feel like everything is falling into place, things are happening, all is grand in the world and then, cliffhangers happen..
I have been waiting for this book and to see how Marcus handles everything that has was thrown at him during the cliffhanger of the first book. Revenge of a Queen picks up right where Revival of a King left off. Marcus jumps to conclusions, but then eventually listens. Marcus and Elle are finally getting their moment that they both have been waiting for since they were 5.
To through what she did and come out swinging, it makes Elle very strong. She uses her past to fuel her revenge and doesn't even bat an eye when she does whatever it takes to protect her family. This book also dives deeper into Jace and his connection with the Donovan's. There is a lot of action in this book and more steamy scenes. The gym scene is 🥵🥵
Elle and Marcus are magnetic. I love their relationship and the connection that Elle has with Lincoln and Jace. I need more Lincoln please 😏😏 Like the first book, this one ends on a cliffhanger as well and more than one life is hanging in the balance. I am ready to see Elle and Marcus' epic conclusion in Rebellion of a Kingdom.
HOLY WOW I THOUGHT BOOK 1 WAS A WILD RIDE! This one definitely takes the cake!!
I was sitting on the edge of my seat for most of this book. The suspense and action in this book made my heart stop several times thank goodness this one picks up right where book 1 leaves off and we don’t miss a thing.
Elle and River finally explode, the chemistry between these two is off the charts!
But let me say Lincoln is my favorite and I really really hope he gets who he wants!!!! I was hoping that’s where she was taking it and man I am so for it🔥 (no spoilers😜)
Overall this is turning into one of my favorite series I cannot get enough. I need Rebellion of a Kingdom!!!!!
After her fantastic debut late last year, I was a little apprehensive that the sequel wouldn't live up to the excitement of the first novel... But I was DEAD wrong!
The book picks up exactly where Revival of a King left off, and the tension is just as high as we left it.
This book has so much more of everything we loved about the first one: More drama, more tension, more violence, more murder and more dirt (in every sense of the word). It also has more of what G.N. Wright is an expert at: Mind blowing twists! Especially the ending of the book. You THINK you have an idea of exactly how everything is going to go down, then the last sentence of the book will give you a gut punch so powerful it will leave you breathless.
I loved Revenge of a Queen! GN built on Revival to create a story that was just captivating and addictive. You couldn’t stop reading as you just had to find out what happened next.
The bad-ass queen, Elle, is really developed in this story and I loved finding out more about the other rebels. Only problem is that I need book 3 now! I’m so excited to see where the story goes 🖤
Yes yes yes Marcus finally got his head out of his ass I love how the guys are letting her bed the bad a** that she is the ending killing me can’t wait for book 3
This story is getting better and better, with a lot of power and revenge. Elle and the Rebels are excellent and with a new character like Logan. Love the dynamic between all of them. I highly recommend it.
This 2nd story in the series began well. There was building tension between Marcus and Elle and it was interesting and the climax was building until the big secret gets revealed to Marcus. I was really hoping that the tension and climax would ride out until book 3 but it was not so.
Elle was quite annoying with her tough girl persona that wanted to slice into everyone especially her friends. It was really tiresome to read about her so called knife-happy tendencies. Every conversation she had ended with her needlessly threatening to cut her friends, even a lighthearted conversation. OK she's a badass *insert huge eyeroll* wannabe. We get it. She just became all talk. Also it was farfetched that a bunch of teenage guys who know they have no chance with Elle would drop their whole lives to bend over backwards to be at her beck and call, and protect her. At least Marcus had a past with her. But for Jace, Lincoln, and even Asher to just follow her around like puppy dogs was too farfetched.
Marcus also became an annoying simp after he gets over his blatant obliviousness to Elle's past. It was practically hitting him over the head and he refuses to acknowledge it. But it did make for some nice build up of tension between the two.
Once Marcus finds out, the storybecame anticlimactic for me. There's no drama at all in his acceptance of the facts. He simply moves forward, no questions, no doubts, no soul-searching, no drama. They automatically become a couple and everything falls into place with copious amounts of speeches about love, soulmates and other such nauseating monologs and declarations. 🙈🙉 That's great if it were a Hallmark story. But I'm here for the dark, bullying of which there was very little.
Meanwhile the only source of angst is Asher and possibly Lincoln.
The multiple POV was a nice touch but did nothing to move the story forward.
The second half of the story was a snorefest if it wasn't for the mildly interesting sex scenes and the cliffhanger ending. I struggled to finish the story getting easily distracted.
I'm just not sure I'm invested enough to read the 3rd story even though this one ended on a cliffhanger. There just isn't any mystery, angst, tension etc left in this story. I really don't care what happens to Elliot or Greg. Elle and Marcus' relationship is a snore now. The only interesting characters left are Jace and Asher but I'm not sure if the 3rd story will do them enough justice at this point as I feel a bit frustrated in having invested so much time on a mediocre story. I may or may not pick up book 3 in a while. 🤷♀️

Noooooooo how could you do this to me, I stumbled on the 1st book by accident but was gripped by page 5, couldn't put it down and was so upset I'd read it so fast..only to find book 2 was out YAY I fell in love with the characters, bad and good and the story line had me all lump in the throat and tears burning my eyes to hot and bothered and raging with anger. I read both books in 1 day and was destroyed I have 2 wait 2 months for the next.......I. am. Sooooooo addicted. THIS IS A MUST READ if you like dark twisted and damaged. Read the blurb before though as this is a seriously dark story
I loved this book!! Brilliantly written and just like book 1 you wont be able to put it down!! I'm majorly hoping Lincoln and Ash get together (though I'm also hoping Logan joins them)
I had this overwhelming sense of doom from like 85% and I just knew what the cliffhanger was going to be at the end and I'm definitely not happy...however it will definitely lead to all the things I enjoy which is lots of bloodshed.
If it wasn't for this here it would be a five 🌟
Ok so I am letting this go for the sake of the review but it made me so angry, she's a mum her daughter means everything to her. Yet her babysitter is not answering, her arch villain has made it clear he's up to something and she hangs around to have sex...that's not really something I can get over. Not to mention how paranoid she has been over anyone finding out about Cassie yet she doesn't actually investigate thinking she sees someone when out shopping.
I'm normally great at ignoring things to fit the narrative and build up of a story even at the expense of the character but not your child's protection, it's a mum thing!
******************************************* I've heard the next book is the conclusion to Ells and Rivers story but there is so much I want to happen and so many people I want to get killed that I can't see it all fitting In. I feel like I may be left wanting!
This book gave me all the things I could have wanted, action, bloodshed, steam, love, friendship, family. I totally have a ship and it is not River and Ell though they're cute.
Am I the only one that thinks Cherry is even more shady than we've seen?
I would love to see Helen and her knife skills
I wasn't totally sold on Logan as he seems too much like Jace, and felt kind of put off by him I would have preferred to get to know his twin better. I felt he messed with the dynamic that was being built with Lincoln and Asher
So I liked it a lot...but I'm going to have to get other people to read book three first, cos there is only so much dark I can handle!

What do you do when the “Devil” starts fighting back against you? You get your first love back including his best friends and bring him hell.
This is the second book in the Black Hollows series and it gives you more back ground into Elles family and how she got where she is but they don’t advance in their revenge because Elliot starts fighting back.
Marcus is fighting Elle from the very beginning and won’t listen to a thing she has to say about her past. He gets drunk and wallows in his own self pitty believing that she is a traitor till he finally gets a shove in the right direction and listens to her. How could he miss all that time with Cassie?? When Elliot starts fighting back Elles plans for revenge stop going how they were meant to and she has to reconvene. Especially now that she has Lincoln, Jace and Marcus on her team. She will do anything to dismantle Elliots sex ring and bring him down not only to save future girls but also to avenge Micheal.
The smut in this book isn’t over the top but you do get some sexy scenes. The plot is so thick and I need to know how it all comes together. The cliffhanger on this book has had me counting down the days till the next book. I NEED the next book. Thank you GN Wright for hooking me into this book. It is so well wrote
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
I hate writing reviews for a book in a series because it's hard not to give spoilers...
Book one - Revival of a King, was Elle finding her feet. Starting her mission to destroy her enemies, whilst battling with herself & her feelings for Marcus. Their history is too big to ignore & that ends up taking priority over her revenge.
Over to this one, book two, Revenge of a Queen. Marcus & Elle are still at odds at the beginning & there were times when I wanted to climb into the book & slap Marcus for his stupidity.
They get on track though & then the 🔥🔥🔥 in this book goes up a notch. G.N. Wright is also generous to the other characters which also leads to some 🔥🔥🔥 MM action.
I did see the ending coming but that didn't stop it from being gutting. The game has stepped up a notch. Elle wasn't as far ahead of her enemies as she thought & I can guarantee that all hell is going to break loose in book three.
Awesome job, again!

OMG!! This was so good!! This is the second book in the black hallows series and it took off right where book one left us! We are thrust right back into all the action, angst and secrets that is Elle's life! I really wanted to know how Marcus would cope given what he discovered at the end of book one and he didn't disappoint with his reaction and attitude, i just love the push and pull in their relationship! In fact i love all the different relationships in this story. Some of the side characters like Linc, Jace and Asher in particular just bring another layer, their interactions, friendship and chemistry with Elle are just brilliant!
As for the plot, well it was definitely dark and had me on the edge of my seat for most of it, i really cant predict where the author is going to take it. I thought the cliff hanger from book one was bad but OMG....seriously? The ending on this literally had me screaming out loud!!!
I just love everything about this story and cant wait for the next instalment!!
I opened this book yesterday afternoon and finished it in the middle of the night. (Not ashamed to say I'm a slow reader and these books usually take me a few days haha)
I was caught in this series from the first book and already thought G.N Wright was off to a good start, and yet the quality of the work has improved which makes the experience even more enjoyable. You can definitely see this is a writer that puts thoughts, energy and love into their work.
Every single guy in this book is crush-worthy, but Elle really is the best. She reigns over the book, she rules over her little group with a badass attitude and humour while still overcoming demons from her past. This book will definitely leave you wanting more and heartbroken (I'm starting to see a pattern here...).
I am still in the world of Black Hallows and no doubt will be day-dreaming about those beautiful boys and Elle until I get to read Rebellion of a Kingdom.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 After that cliffhanger at the end of the first book I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one! I already thought the first book was one hell of a roller coaster but this one takes the cake!
First half was full of angst, but it was so worth it once Elle and Marcus finally got together. Their chemistry was explosive and they definitely made up for all the time lost! There is also lots of action and we get to see all Rebels together with Elle helping her get her revenge. Elle is such a strong character and with Rebels at her back she’s even more amazing!
As much as I love Elle and Marcus I also loved getting to know other characters. I love all their relationships and friendship. They truly became one big family. And I already can’t wait for all of their books, especially Lincoln’s! And that steamy MM scene was just icing on the cake!
I knew there was another cliffhanger coming but it still made me wanna throw my kindle to the wall! This author more than enjoys torturing her readers! I can’t wait for the conclusion of Elle and Marcus’ story!
Loved this book!! Elle & Marcus are everything 😍😍 I loved seeing the guys POVs as well as Elle’s. A big thing I like in books is the family feel and loyalty and these guys have it for sure. They’re a mix of everything, they’ve each got their own past and drama but they make the best family. Helen - she is mum goals - I love how she immediately takes them all in!! This book gets quite brutal at times and we see a fierce side to them all but there’s no judgement, each of them accept each other and their darkness. Although there are dark bits there is also the lightheartness ness and jokes between the guys and Elle. And not to forget those hot AF scenes. There is so much going on in this book with plotting revenge and scheming, I was on edge the whole book needing to know how things pan out. I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book - that cliffhanger was no joke 😭
Wow!!! I've been waiting on this book since I finished the first one. And this installment didn't disappoint at all.
What an EPIC rollercoaster of emotions I've just been on. I'm currently in total disbelief and awe of G.N Wright. What an amazing talent she has, I'm dying for the next one already and I've literally just finished the second one.
I love all the characters in this story but hands down I love Marcus and Elle. I'm also intrigued to see where G.N goes with Lincoln's story...
I'm scared to write more incase I spoil anything but just know this book didn't disappoint and so much so I wish I can give more than 5 stars.
Thanks again to G.N for allowing me early access to this story.
This is book 2 in the Revenge series and picks up from where book 1 left off (so if you haven't already read book 1, I suggest you read that first).
I loved the darkness and storyline in book 1 but this book just takes it to the next level. Violence, power and love are the dominant emotions throughout and every page has you gripped and eager for more.
I adore the relationship that develops between Elle and her 'Rebels' the bond they form is unbreakable.
This author has written an amazing story and I am very eager to read the conclusion to Marcus and Elle's journey as well as future stories to develop from the Rebels!
This is the second book in Marcus and Elle's story. So much happens. We learn a lot more about Elle and her family. Revenge of a Queen also gets a lot darker than the Revival of a King. We start to see exactly what Elle will do to get her revenge on all those who wronged her.
Some of my favorite parts were the ones with Lincoln. Hot damn, I swear he is my new favorite. I am definitely looking forward to reading his book. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
Of course I can't stop thinking about that ending. Left with a cliffhanger and now forced to wait patiently until the final installment of their story. I highy reccomend you check out this series.
I can only describe Ell as a killing machine with a big heart, now Marcus knows some of the story he has to be told everything, it's going to be painful and tragic so best tell him and the other rebels at the same time as like everything these days Ell deals with it. I am loving it I read it quickly then get upset it has ended, forget the rabbit hole this is a trip to the dark side where there is no coming back which makes it all the more exciting. G N Wright it's a brilliant crazy ride. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
OH. MY. GOD. This book 😭 Soooo good but I need the next book STAT. Jesus, the ending!!! I think Gabby is trying to kill us all! I absolutely loved this book!! The steam, the humour, the bloodshed, the drama, EVERYTHING. So so so good. Elle is a motherfucking queeeeeen! And Marcus Riviera, jeeeeeeez 🔥 not to mention Lincoln, Jace, Ash, Logan, Zack... this book is filled to the brim with hot alpha men and I am here for it. Seriously, just what a book and series. Already can’t wait for the third. You have absolutely smashed it Gabby. 🖤🌹
