Nerds Who Knot #2

The Bookmobile Baby

Rate this book
During the week Simon Seymore is a good little bookmobile librarian. He lives and breathes his job providing library access to the rural towns south of Grayson City. But every weekend he heads to the bar in search of another alpha to go home with. If he preps himself beforehand, they never have to know his secret: Simon can't slick.

Omegas who can't slick can't have children either, and alphas aren't accepting of that. At twenty seven, Simon's learned that relationships simply aren't worth the risk. It's better to focus on his job, and stop dreaming about the mate he's never going to have.

Art Hitchens buried the love of his life five years ago. At forty five, he has no intention of chasing after omegas ever again. But when a bookmobile librarian shows up in his hometown and gives him a wild proposition, Art feels alive for the first time in years.

Simon may be too young for Art and slow to trust after being rejected so many times, but Art feels a need to take care of Simon that's impossible to ignore.

The Bookmobile Baby is a May/December romance set in the omegaverse with knotting, MPreg, and D/s. It's the second book in the Nerds Who Knot series, but it stands alone. This edition includes a bonus story.

This is the second book this author has written and as far as I'm concerned so far she is 2 for 2! As I said in my review for book one in this series there is something about this author's writing style that just resonates with me and allows my to connect to the story and the people in it on a very deep level. Of course that means feels to the nth degree! And of course plenty of tears. This book was just a truly wonderful reading experience from start to finish. I love both Simon and Art like crazy and of course also loved getting to see Isaac and Rhett from book one again too. Nerds Who Knot are HOT!

I came for the daddy kink and hot bookmobile sex but stayed for a beautiful romance about grief, second chances and the importance of early childhood literacy :)

But seriously, when I downloaded this book, I did not expect for it to be so emotional. I teared up quite a few times. Simon and Art's love story was fabulous. The end.

The Bookmobile Baby (Nerds Who Knot, #2) by Amy Bellows

The Bookmobile Baby by Amy Bellows is age gap, lite D/s and Daddy/boy kink story set in Omegaverse. I laughed, got hot and bothered and even shed few tears listening/reading this story.

It tells the tale of Simon a 27 year old Omega, who wants 3 things in life ; bring books to children and adults who don’t have access to them, a baby of his own and a mate. Yet, to get that , he has to overcome few small and big obstacles.
And , Art , a 45 year old , rugged, bearded, ginger Alpha , who for the 1st time in 5 years , feels a sexual attraction since the death of his beloved mate.

I was entertained reading/listening to this book. I loved the snarky, witty , hilarious banter and inner thoughts. The low angst , the adult and common sense approach to conflict resolution between the characters , the overall happiness and hopeful feel of the book.

Barney Parkwynne is a fairly , new to me, narrator. This is my second audiobook by him. I'm pleased to say , his performance improves with each new book , I isten narrated by him. 3.5 Stars of smooth sexy voice.

The Bookmobile Baby is book two in the interconnected, Nerds Who Knots series @KU . Books can be read as standalones but you'll enjoy it more by reading them in the chronological order they were published.

Art and Simon

This one hit all my buttons! Wow it started just with some tasty sexiness, and with all the right feelings!

Simon is an omega and at twenty seven he is only in for a one-night stand. Because there is no Alpha who wants to have a relationship with an omega who has a tiny chance to ever give birth.
His heart aches with the idea there will be never be a child of his own and there will be no child of him ever read one of his many child-books.

Art, an Alpha of forty-five, is a widower for five years and every time this little attractive omega with his bookmobile visit his town, his Alpha yearns. As being a Daddy he wants to take care of this boy, for the first time in five years his heart is longing.

Simon can’t understand why this beautiful straightforwardly lumberjack wants to take care of him, a invisible omega without the ability to slick.
But when they start something together there are some delightful scenes. Hot, steamy and delicious.
With Simon’s approaching heat Simon stands before some decisions and when these are taken from him he is devastated.

This story, my goodness, I loved it. Art and Simon characters are so kind and flawed.
Art being a Daddy with BDSM experience was a delicious addition and very well woven into this story. The joy Art gives Simon but also the hurt, was written in a strong and heartfelt way.
Simon his longing and yearning went straight through my heart. Goshh it was emotional.
Emotional in the way it made my heart hurt, wetness rolling down my cheeks.
It was a good balanced written journey, all area with the right weight. The scenery was wonderful and the whole story original and intriguing. A beautiful bubble with a wonderful diversity of personalities, with books, friends, families, hurt, romance, some kink, red butt, about taking control and giving over, but above all about hope and deep rooted claiming love!
I was glued to the pages I read this journey in one breath.

The Bookmobile Baby, the second book in Amy Bellows' Nerds Who Knot series, is sweet and cute and absolutely adorable.

Bellows has created a unique non-shifter Mpreg universe and I really enjoyed the very thorough and well thought out details in The Bookmobile Baby.

These are wonderful characters and my heart went out to these two men. Simon, who wants nothing more than to become a dad, and who has physical limitations which prevent that from happening. And Art, who has the biggest heart ever, who lost the love of his life five years ago and has given up on ever having love in his life again.

Though this is the second book in the series, I did not read The Accidental Everything and had no trouble following along. I'll definitely be looking to read Rhett and Isaac's story as soon as I can though.

The title is what really drew me in and happily I enjoyed the story and got some good bookmobile sex in this Mpreg with a side of light kink. I wasn't 100 percent clear on the A/B/O society here (I haven't read the first book), but it seems that omegas are pretty free to live their lives, even though they are still valued by their ability to produce offspring. Simon's apparent infertility isn't going to stop him from having a family though. Art is just so sweet and a bit sad when he first approaches Simon. It becomes apparent pretty quickly that Simon reacts differently to Art and a whole new set of possibilities opens up.

There is a bit of mild angst, an age-gap that allows for some mild daddy kink and some glorious book-involved nesting. Amy Bellows appears to be a fairly new author and I did enjoy what I read so I'll be going back to read the first story.

I liked the sweetness of this. There was a bit of a weird angsty thing in the middle, but that got solved pretty quickly.

Simon is an omega. An omega who might be infertile since he can’t slick. And he wants children so bad, but apparently it’s not meant to be.

Simon spends his days driving a bookmobile so people in towns who don’t have a library can still read books. When Simon meets Art, and older alpha, he is immediately attracted to the man. When the two end up having sex in his bookmobile, they both agree that that might not have been the most sensible thing they ever did.

But Art is not able to let go of Simon completely, so he goes back to ask Simon out on a proper date. Simon is sure Art wouldn’t want him, a younger omega who cannot slick. But Art proves him wrong, and the two start a relationship.

When they discover Simon’s heat is coming, and he is suddenly able to slick, Simon knows this might be his only chance to be able to ever have a baby. But he’s only known Art for two weeks, so Art might not want to make a baby with Simon….

I thought this book had a lot of potential. There were some parts I really liked. But there were also some parts where I hadn’t got a clue why they’d been included at all. Like why have Art test his sperm to figure out he might not be fertile himself, only to think he had some sperm donated 10 years ago that they might be able to use now. This only made sure we got some stupid angst and the end result was the same (Simon having a baby with Art). So I didn’t get it.

But this was still a sweet in-between book. Now I’m ready for that amazing book, that’s obviously not coming out anytime soon. (don’t mind me, I’m in a book slump :( )

3 and 1/2 stars. This was a sweet book and it was made better by the story attached at the end. It was really more of an epilogue that completed the story.

I liked Simon and Art and although there was the tedious misunderstanding it didn’t last long. Simon is insecure and feels unwanted because he is an omega who doesn’t produce slick. Art is an older alpha who understands because his first omega also had the same problem.

After finishing the first book in the series I went right ahead and read the second one, because we have to give our brains what they want, right? This one wasn't quite for me because... it has a Daddy kink, okay? And that's something that was previously giving me a pretty strong ick (no judgement, just not something for me) so I am almost proud of myself for reading this book and enjoying it for most part.

This book has also the infertility plot-line which... I don't love and honestly find quite problematic. There were some redeeming qualities for me, like them going to adopt in the future, but overall, just not my favourite plot. Although I did enjoy the parts that were about the different treatment Simon got because of his infertility and the hurt/care opportunities this presented. It wasn't particularly subtle, but it was enjoyable.

I also liked the parts about Art's deceased mate being a trans omega and getting into that part of lore a little bit.

So yeah, not completely for me, but still interesting and overall fun and enjoyable.

P.S. Also, I like this quote, hiding it for explicit sexual content:

So much better.....

***3.75 stars***

Okay, for me this book was so much better than the first book in the series 🎉. I really enjoyed reading about Simon and Art and dare I say I got a bit teary eyed in a few areas. My heart really goes out to Simon. My only question, is where will he be buried when his time is up? I promise I’m not being morose. You will understand when you read the book. Which you should 😉

4 stars!

For a new author, the book was pretty good! I loved that even though Simon got off on daddy kink, he still spoke his mind and wasn’t just going to accept everything Art did or didn’t do. Couple the fact that this was low angst too, it was a lovely weekend read. Will definitely keep an eye out for this new author!

i know i sound like a bitch but there’s no other way to say it: i didn’t expect it to be this good.
actually, i didn’t expect this to be good at all.
i started this on a whim, because when i feel a reading slump coming, reading something different usually snaps me out of it.
i’ve read books by amy bellows before, they weren’t bad, but they also weren’t on this level.

i’m glad that i finally picked this up.

This is my first book from this author but it definitely won't be my last. This was so much better than I was expecting. It actually made me tear up a bit. Who knew? Art and Simon were just the sweetest. Simon thought he would forever be single and childless and Art thought he'd be alone because his first mate died. The whole omega slick, mpreg, heat thing is a guilty pleasure for me and this one was done very well.

Arc provided courtesy of the author.
All reviews are my voluntary and honest opinion.

Simon says screw the patriarchy, and I concur.

Society considers Simon broken. Omegas who can't slick are defective and taboo. Alphas will still take what he offers, but they aren't exactly courteous.

What I like: I'm a fan of age difference, particularly guys in their twenties with guys in their forties. Enter hottie, Art, a red headed, flannel shirt wearing Daddy who frequents Simon's book mobile, and doesn't treat Simon like an inferior.

What you need to know: The book is A/B/O and contains some of the societal politics of an A/B/O society. The book contains m-preg, and may be rough for someone with infertility to read, if infertility is triggering for you, please be advised.

The main critique I have is that their relationship moves so fast. I understand falling into heat and A/B/O. It helps that Art has been interested for awhile, but even with certain emergency factors -- after Art's concerns about his past, he's jumping into a major decision very quickly.

I think the characters need more page time to establish more chemistry early on. A few more dates, maybe.

The chemistry does get decidedly more concrete and there is some sweet library nesting going on. Overall these two are total cuties, and I'm glad they get their hea. I'd definatly recommend this to anyone into m-preg, a/b/o, daddy kink, and shmoop.

Additional note: Art's first partner was an Alpha to Omega trans person, the book has excellent transgender themes and characters for those looking for more transgender representation in their books.

3.5 Realized that I have read this a few years ago. The bookmobile was a novel plot point, pun intended. The author has regular library scenes inside it along with physical scenes between the MCs. There is a sweet makeup after a breakup scene in it and later a dramatic event for librarian Simon and his burly lover, Art. After finishing the book I realized how much of the story action revolves around the bookmobile. A bookmobile was part of my reading past and I think it is one of the greatest inventions!
I haven’t seen a bookmobile in a long time and one drove past me on a recent evening.
It was great to see it and I hope readers of all ages enjoy it. This book was pretty good. The MCs had a chemistry and affection that was enjoyable to read. Their relationship was D/b and some BDSM based.

Once again, I could've gone for a longer book but this did come across as complete and not too rushed.

Simon was a great character. He was passionate about his work with the library being a bookmobile librarian/driver who went to many towns that weren't on his route because they had no access to a library. He also wanted to be a father desperately but had too many obstacles. Then Art came along and changed his life. There were some miscommunications and insecurities but they were great together.

It was a sweet story and I can't wait to read the next one.

This isn't my favorite series, and I can't put my finger on why. It's omegaverse, theres a lot of fluff, but it's just missing something. This is a may-december age gap, a sprinkling of daddy, and so much fertility/mpreg/wanting to have babies. Ultimately a bit forgettable story, chemistry, and MCs.

I've come to a point where I just rate the books I read and hadn't come to write a single review. Hahaha. My brain stopped functioning, momentarily. 😂 Okay, so, ummm, the reason why I chose Bookmobile Baby as my fave first, all four stories are kinda built rush, and second, Simon and Art despite jumping through their instincts at least they gave ample TIME analyzing and understanding their situation. If I were to choose another fave from this series it'll def be the Bond-cut omega. Sorry, I was rambling nonsense. Ciao! 😂

Heartwarming, inclusive, Mpreg story that will touch your heart!!

I loved this story! I’m still new to Mpreg but this story has so much heart, emotion, love and a bit of humor that I couldn’t help falling in love! Simon is wonderful; he’s passionate, caring and a little broken, while Art is grieving, strong and has a big heart ready to give away again! Simon and Art are perfect together!! I loved the inclusivity in this story: trans Alphas and Omegas! Such a great concept and was done with so much love and care you can tell it’s from the heart!

The story follows widower Art as grapples with his lust for Simon, the towns bookmobile driver. Simon thinks he can’t have kids and has tried to come to terms with that as best he can. Art doesn’t think he could ever fell alive again after losing his husband, Dean who happened to be trans omega until he connects with Simon! I loved Amy’s approach and the inclusion of trans characters in this story and the dynamics of their lives in the omegaverse was brilliant. I found this whole story touchingly beautiful and felt all the emotions as these characters come together and began to heal each other. This was like nothing I’ve ever read before and I loved everything about it! It took me so long to write up a review because I feel like my words can’t do it justice and it’s still holding a special place in my heart. I praise Amy and her creation and I am so thankful she decided to create these wonderful characters that have touched my heart!!

Highly recommended!!

Another good quick Sunday read. It wasn’t fantastic but it wasn’t horrible. It did have some u expected Daddy kink in it, which I’ve realized is not really my things. And by unexpected I mean I don’t even remember what the blurb of the book said so it might have been right in front of my face and I not know it.

I did have a hard time with some of the happenings in this book. Other than the kink I also felt it had some unnecessary angst that revolves around jerking off in a cup.... but you know, to each their own.

You know what also irks me, when stories aren’t kept straight between books in a series. Now I may be misread on this but I am pretty sure in Issacs story (book 1), he’s stated that’s he’s only had 1 heat before he met Rhett and it was such an awful heat that he’d been on suppressants ever since (I wanna day like 8 years), and something about the attachment to the alpha at the time that he didn’t want to go through again. But in this book Simon says that he and Issac would go through their heats together with toys and alpha pheromones just to get through them without an alpha. He also goes into detail about how suppressants shouldn’t be used two years in a row because they are bad for you or some shit....

Again I could have misread it remembered wrong, but I don’t think so.

It wasn’t what I was expecting. I really dint expect the whole D/s thing. AT ALL. I dint see it coming a mile away. I wasn’t in the mood for D/s when I decided to buy and read this book. Stupid me for not reading the whole warning.

Even if the whole D/s aspect wasn’t present, the author omits a lot of stuff, the romance is insta-love (which I hate) and the pace was just all over the place. The amount of plot holes was amazing.

So. This book. I love it.
It's a great read with tons of aspects that just keeps you stuck to the page and wanting more.
We get introduced to Simon, an omega who thinks less of himself because hes not a typical omega. He has a biological need for children so he works the bookmobile, and goes above and beyond his job description to bring his love of books to children and see them light up as he drives into their towns.
We then meet Art, an older alpha who's got some baggage, but gets pulled to Simon like a moth to a flame. Hes dominate, but has a softer side that makes you just want to please him.
Theres drama, theres passion, theres some things that happen with bookselfs and restraints, but most of all theres beauty. Beauty in words, beauty in self discovery, beauty in finding love, beauty in happiness.
This great kink book shows you a daddy relationship, some bdsm, and a path to finding the acceptance to who they are.
I quite enjoyed this read and think you will too

This was such a good read!! I really love the worlds the author builds. I can't say that I've read many omegaverse books, but I've read a few (and a LOT of fanfiction) and I actually love how many rules and quirks this omegaverse has! It's not just about omegas being irresistable for alphas or anything like that.

I really liked both characters, even if Art might have been a little bland? They deeply care for each other and I loved Simon's dedication to bringing books to children. These two have to go through so many hardships before they can finally realize Simon's long dream of being a dad and I really cheered for them!

Overall, this was just really cute and enjoyable!

Ugh!!!!!! This is the case when good book cut too short. Le sigh. I was pulled into this book and every thing was going so well until we got close to the end then it just fell apart. It’s too rushed. And when things get rushed important things get written off page. Part of the reason for reading romance Is the romance. We built up this whole bonding night and it was written off page. BIG No No!!!!!! What’s the point of this huge build up if we don’t get be a part of it.
Writing was good, smexy was hawt, side characters I’m still figuring out. Gonna try another book and see how it goes.

Hit me where I'm weak, why don't you! An alpha who designs fancy bookshelves for a living and builds a personal library for his omega? I'm salivating so bad, I don't even know how to process this much heaven.
So yeah, this was stinking cute and emotional and a little tragic, but well, mostly just cute. Perfect comfort read!
