Jeremiah meets Autumn in a bar where she works and saves her from being assaulted by a drunk customer. He is a football player who has grown tired of one night stands and he is looking for a real woman, a girlfriend, so he doesn’t tell Autumn who he really is. Autumn recently quit college and now lives with her overprotective football coach dad and football player brother and they don’t know she works at a bar so she also lies about her last name to Jeremiah. Autumn and Jeremiah end up spending the night together and the next day they both realize that the other person lied about their name when Autumn sees Jeremiah at her dad’s football practice. When the coach realizes Autumn works at a bar he asks Jeremiah to keep an eye on her there so she doesn’t have trouble. Autumn is worried about Jeremiah’s reputation as a womanizer and she won’t be able to keep him happy and Jeremiah is worried about what her dad will do when he finds out about their relationship. Will her dad trade Jeremiah when he finds out Autumn I s with him? Will Autumn decide what she wants in the future and will Jeremiah be in her plans?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. The author did a fantastic job developing the characters so you saw how they were both changing their lives and trying to find future happiness. They were both willing to make sacrifices for the other person and you hoped everything would work out for them. The epilogue was a great ending for their story.

I just finished reading an ARC copy of The Lie, great story! I love a good sports romance, drool worthy athletes (with rock hard abs… mmm, hmm) and the women that tame their playboy ways and Jeremiah & Autumn’s story did not disappoint. From the ‘good guy steps in to save the day’ meet, through a couple of dramas to spice the story up, they fall in love hard and fast with plenty of sexy scenes along the way to an end with all the right feels. The book was an easy read, not too short to leave you feeling unsatisfied but not so long that it drags. While it reads really well as a stand alone story it is actually part of a series and has whet my appetite to go back and discover the stories that bought the other couples in this world together and of course to anticipate the next in the series!

Who knew that two lies could make such a hot book. Normally I can tell you my favorite character right away. However, both him and her are amazingly written. Both have their own secrets. Both hide who they are from the other one. I can’t tell you how intriguing this book was. All I know is he’s my new book boyfriend. LOL. And I just want to make her my new best friend. If you love a good story, with great characters and great writing, Ups and downs and unexpected twists and turns, this is the book for you. Don’t want to give away any spoilers. Don’t want to tell you what happened. Read it for yourself.

Another great book by Alexia Chase.
A sweet girl and a protective alpha male. Who meet in a bar. Instant attraction.
I loved how they were instantly drawn to each other. And couldn't stay away from each other. They were exactly what each other was looking for. And what they needed. After going through some things, Jeremiah and Autumn get there HEA. And it’s perfect.

Alexia Chase writes the perfect short romance reads for people on the go. Who don’t have a lot of time to read. And just want to escape for a little bit. And they a great for bed time reads.

What can I say, I am simply in love with he work that Alexia Chase is producing. Each of these stories intermingled with characters from previous books and have some interaction with the main characters. The storyline is strong and the heat coming off the pages is enough to keep you warm on a cold winters day. I loved how the story evolved. Very well written and I would highly recommend this book to everyone.

This was a great book! Autumn and Jeremiah’s story can be read as a standalone but is part of an awesome series. Jeremiah saves Autumn from a handsy drunk one night at the bar she works at. Even though she works in a bar, she’s a good girl who loves her family. Even though her father’s control is an obstacle for her OTT instalove. She’s also a fangirl of Jeremiah’s Football career. Get ready for a emotional ride with some twists and turns! The chemistry between these two is thick with hot steamy lust.their are so many feels in this story. Angst, joy, laughter competitiveness, happiness, lust, secretiveness and Love with a capital L. The HEA is all that it should be! Alexia Chace proves once again that her books keep leaving you wanting more.

I was hooked on sweet Autumn and Jeremiah story from the first chapter wondering what would follow. I love a feminine character who is sweet but fight for what she wants. This storyline will take you into a world filled with drama, suspense and of course love. The twist and turns in this story will keep you intrigued, Autumn’s dad is an overbearing daddy which complicated their relationship. You will fall in love with all the characters that are around them, can’t wait to read the other one story. I highly recommended it

This was such a great book. It was fun, steamy hot and entertaining! I love how Jeremiah and Autumn met, and even better when they met again! Autumn and Jeremiah had great chemistry together and you really wanted things to work out fo them in the sand as they are just OL adorable together! I love how the book paves the way to the next one in the series! I rate this book 4.5 stars.

I loved Autumn and Jeremiah's story. It all began with a lie to each other. Autumn didn't want her father to know she was working at a bar and dropped out of college. Jeremiah wanted a woman to like him for him, not the money or fame. So they decided to lie about who they were, not expecting the immediate connection between them. After spending the next together, they realize there's a possibly of things developing. However, life smacked them in a face a few hours later and forced them to be honest with each other. But that doesn't mean they can't still lie to others. Great read!

This is a comfortable, easy reading experience and a wonderful novel to introduce new readers to this author's style. The main characters Autumn and Jeremiah were believable, interesting, perfectly flawed, and well-matched for a plot where lies are central to the telling of the story. It is refreshing to read a character who is able to understand upfront what is required to woo this woman who is too afraid of an overprotective parent. This was a three and a half solid star read.

Autumn and Jeremiah meet in a bar where Autumn is working. A patron is being handsy with her and Jeremiah steps in to rescue her. Their attraction to each other is immediate and oh so hot. Each of them have secrets that they are hiding from the other and when the secrets are revealed things get complicated. Will his past reputation and her family keep them apart or will they each choose the other and their love?
I enjoy reading Alexia’s shorter books but this was so much better! The pages just kept turning. Great way to spend a rainy day!

Tender and beautiful romance
It's a beautiful romance, hot, but one that is disturbed by the bond between the two heroes: Autumn is the daughter of a hyperprotective football coach and Jeremiah is in the football team. The two meet on condition of anonymity, but the revelation of their bond and their identity disrupts their budding relationship, forcing them not to reveal anything to others, especially not to Autumn’s father.
The story has some melodramatic ends, but it is still tender.

4.5 stars, All the temptation

This is my first book by the author and its not likely to be my last. I really enjoyed this novella, the characters were interesting and the story was engaging. It definitely kept my interest and it was definitely hot and steamy. The way the heroine put up with her father treating her like a child was a little frustrating at times but only enough to knock off half a star. Going to check out the others in the series now but really want to read about Gabe and Felicity!

The Lie shines brightest when it dares to be honest. Chase doesn't hide behind sassy innuendo, she digs deep into the painful moments that force hearts to be vulnerable. Jeremiah and Autumn are both running from something. What starts as an escape becomes a form of salvation. Treat your emotions to a wild ride of temptation and emotion that will stick with you long after the heartbreak is through.

This was a great book, I enjoyed it very much. This is the perfect escape from reality. It was nice to see the relationship blossom between Jeremiah and Autumn. The elevator was just heart melting!
There were also some hilarious scenes like in the locker room.
The atmosphere between Autumn and her brother Gage was priceless!
A must read book and I hope there will be a book about Gage as well!

Lies can break people. The chemistry between Autumn and Jeremiah is electric in this sports romance but lies have a way of finding their light. They are both lying and even though it's understandable why they do it, it's also frustrating when all you want is for them to open up. I love a story that can make me feel for the characters. I blushed, I laughed, I was frustrated. I couldn't put this down.

This is a super sweet romance. Autumn and Jeremiah were perfect for each other. I loved that he was willing to do anything to be with her. I do wish that she would have stood up to her over protect father a little bit more though. Overall this was a very entertaining read.

I loved Autumn. She was a great leading lady. Jeremiah was also a great hero to read about. I loved the dual, first person point of view, which is always a deal breaker for me. This is definitely a must read, I read this book in one day, because I couldn't put it down.

I loved Jeremiah and Autumn’s story. Read it in one sitting. I know the other characters in the story and reading about them in this book made me feel I am a part of their community.

I am used to reading the author’s short stories but this longer read made me appreciate the character more.

out of her element and has a hard time dealing with a drunk who can't keep his hands to himself. But a sexy customer comes to her rescue and she is smitten. Jeremiah, a pro football player, is known as a player off the field, whose tired of the one night stands and wants a women who really wants him. Jeremiah and Autumn hit it off, but both are keeping secrets from the other.
Can they survive through the secrets or will it tear them apart? Can Autumn break from her Dad's hold?
There are some funny scenes and times when I just want to take Autumn and tell her to grow up. It's a sweet story.

Cute story, hot and sweet, with lead characters who are both trying to escape from their reputations. I enjoyed how they got together and then how they had to work to stay together. I also appreciated that they were both willing to sacrifice for each other.

The story was dual POV, well written and edited. It had awkward moments that left me squirming as well as some very hot moments and a lot of sweetness.
