'RAPE', as we hear this word something inside us shudder and leaves us blank for some time and then we start thinking that how can someone commit such a heinous crime? What made him do it? But we are always left with no answer. The researchers are still unable to find out the exact reason behind this act of shame but this book will help you in knowing the reasons to a great extent.

In this book, the author has cited references from various published journals. He has also put forth his personal views on rape, its consequences and how it can be completely ruled out. I salute the author for coming forward and writing a book on such a sensitive topic, talking openly about what is still considered taboo in our society.

Rape is an act where the male wants to show his control and strength which gives him a feeling of being dominant and powerful. According to the author, anger and lust are two main reasons behind it. It is never the fault of a girl and we should understand this. I believe its a psychological illness and needs to be dealt with with proper therapy and counselling.

Here I'm mentioning some solutions suggested in this book whose implementation is difficult but not impossible.
🍂 Proper sex education in schools and homes.
🍂Let's not make sex taboo and try talking about it freely with the younger generation because it's the lack of knowledge and moral values which leads to such heinous crime.
🍂 We need to demand a stronger judicial system where the accused is punished early and strictly like in other countries.
🍂 Let's try to change the outlook of people around us towards rape victims.
🍂Let's give out our hand of support to the rape victims by comforting them with our kind words and make them know that we are with them and we will do whatever it takes to send the accused behind the bars.

We cannot change the past but yes we can certainly change our future by changing our mindset. Let's come together as a family and raise our voices against the most heinous crime. I felt some points to be repetitive but overall it was a great read and I'm glad I picked it up. Highly recommended.

Why does a man rape is a non- fiction book.As the title suggests , the author research and facrt out the reason why a man rapes , and talks a lot about rape culture in india , with giving different instances from mythology . He also tries to break down how we as a person or a society can be directly or indirectly responsible for the situation. This book is research based about facts and data , the language was easy to understand. I thought the book was an important read and everyone should try this!!!

The book really explains anything from mythology, history and how different species are and how they make treat females and how this patriarchal society wrote all rules that give more independence and freedom to men and a lot of restrictions to women.

I liked the way the author explained how our Indian mythology is framed with a patriarchal mindset. The author has spoken of Hinduism and Islam and how the rules are, the author has interviewed a lot of victims and offenders and say explain some stories and try to find a reason why does a man rape.

The offenders had some childhood traumas or their parenting was not so good. Most of the offender's mother was not treated well by her husband, beating and abusing make them feel women as just an object to fulfill their pleasure and do whatever they can.

The author has spoken on child abuse, incest rape, marital rape, and stories of some victims. He also said about why Prostitution should be legal in India and how it can help in reducing the abuse against women.

The rate of sexual abuse is increasing and there are more opportunities to find the victim as in most cases the offender selects a random person. Now online dating apps are also creating more problems as there are many fake ids and there are many users who share a lot of information which makes the people vulnerable and there are some stories about date rape where the victim went for a date and was raped and abused.

I really want to say it is always victim-blaming and there are many leaders who blamed the victim and said about proximity between men and women in society is less as the reason for rape. How they can say boys are boys and all. Really you can see the mindset of many people who supports the offender and blaming the victim for everything that happened when the victim needs support and care.

The book is written so well and dared to speak on many things. Kudos to the author. I do recommend this book to people around me.

The title of this book caught my eyes and as this issue is being very serious in last few years in our country, I just needed to read this book.

I must say the author has done great research work to write such a knowledge worthy book. The author has described various types of rapes like Gang rapes, Dates rapes, anger rapes, marrital rapes, etc. with its incidents and cases like a storytelling with changed names of culprit and victims (of course) but it explains everything really well. The author has also emphasized on victim's situation and after effects of the incidence. How the mental and physical trauma doesn't let her move on even if she wants to. Also, our society's mindset plays a great role in these terrific issues. They always blame victim for her clothing or attitude but they never learn to teach the boys to respect girls. The author has specified reasons that history has always been like that. Kings used to have many queens but a queen can only have one king and the women were also used as prostitutes and slaves.

The author has narrated the solutions also for these serious issue that prostitution should be legal in india and sex education should be started from teenage so that youngsters don't indulge in such crimes.

Overall, it's a great read and everyone, yes I mean everyone whether reader or non-reader, young or old, teenager or youngsters, boy or girl, should give this book a shot to learn about this issue. The language is easy. It's a very awakening read.

📑 BOOK REVIEW📑

👉This book by Jasbir Singh is a well-researched article underneath the vicious crime 'Rape' which nowadays goes on very frequently without our concern.

👉It's basically a non-fiction read consisting of barely 130 pages. The author had shared his interview with the various rape victims and delinquents in his book, giving it a more pragmatic stance. The word 'Rape' has got a profound origin from history and has been carried out since then. When we talk about rape, we get several questions in our head (be it the causes behind this ferocious crime or anything else related to it) the author had strived to find a reasonable answer for all such queries.

👉It also states observing the dormant proponents of these culprits draped in the name of patriarchy. There are several misbeliefs, false notions correlated with the humiliation of Rape which has been elaborated briefly in the book.

👉I truly appreciate the huge effort made by the author for writing on such an indispensable subject, which should be read by all. This book will offer you a better understanding of this topic with an ideological approach that can be rationalized.

👉I would highly recommend this book to everyone (even the non-readers).

Rape is a heinous crime which traps woman Every single day and is getting increased every minutes in India. This book is purely research based project. 'Marital rape' which is mostly ignored by people and not taken into consideration, Author threw sime light on that issue too. This book is inked with the confessions of some men who committed rape and women who became the victim of this heinous crime. Everybody knows that this crime is increasing day by day and need to be stopped but the author not only explained the Problem he also suggested some ways this Problem can be curbed at the end of the book.

This book is a must read book, no matter you're reader or non-reader as this book contains very delicate yet very important topic for the Society. I thank author for Writting this book.

This book is an eye - opener to every reader out there . The writer has categorised the types of rapes which are prevailing in our country , India . Where , we are actually not aware of the common ways of sexual assault . The writer has bought up with some examples of heinous crimes whether it be ' Asifa Bano Murder Rape Case ' or Delhi Rape Case .
•••
The author has tried to enhance our knowledge regarding such crimes where he talks about the mental state of the rapist while doing such things with a helpless women / girl . If we talk about the proper findings , we can find that men usually perform this in the influence of anger , sadistic approach . The author has clearly explained us the methods and ways to empower ourselves. He states that we should avoid teaching small girls heavy words like vagina which is not easy for them to speak instead if we can simply tell them to say stomach , it will be easy for them to express if they ever face such problem .
•••
The writer not only talks about the rapes he also aware us about the various dating apps which sometimes prove to be a really bad experience for a girl . He has stated all the precautionary measures which can help in many ways . He focuses on sex education , bad touch and good touch , education for school - based sexuality .
•••
The writer has also highlighted the serious concern of honour killing where a happily couple is killed just because they get married in the opposite caste .

Book Name: Why Does A Man Rape

Author: Jasbir Singh

Genre: Non - Fiction

"If you want to stop the rape cases and want a change, then start it from your own home."

I agree with the line mentioned above which is taken from the book "Why Does A Man Rape" by Jasbir Singh. It is a collection of various data and facts which tell us the history of rape culture and also make us realize that how we have contributed knowingly and unknowingly in encouraging this rape culture. The book talks about our history that how at that time also women were assaulted in the name of gifts, pride, and honor. It also consists of types of rape and several interviews with victims and offenders to understand this rape culture more easily. Jasbir Singh has also introduced some opinions on how we can work on decreasing the number of rape cases. I came to know about so many things regarding rape after reading this book, for instance, marital rape. I knew the term marital rape, but I understood what it is and how there are no laws regarding this in our patriarchal society as women are seen as a possession of men and men can do whatever they want with them after reading this book.

This is a burning issue of our society, but still, we don't want to discuss this topic and we all know that without talking or discussing this we can't find solutions to stop if not stop then at least decrease the number of cases which are prevailing right now in our society. Our society just keeps on blaming women for all the rape cases that it was you who were not wearing proper clothes or it was you who made him lusty and anything but our society doesn't understand that rape is not just about physical pleasure for them, it's about showing strength, anger and overall showing that you are weaker section of the society so be the weaker only don't try to overpower us (men). Our society demoralizes the sex education which must be given to every child so that they could understand that what is wrong and right and they could accept denial. We as a society are equally responsible for the rape cases prevalent in India as when it's time to educate the younger generation, we never say to boys that eve-teasing, commenting or stalking is unethical, and you should not do this and if you are going to do these then you will be punished, instead we say to girls that they are boys and boys are like this only, so you should stop going out, you should be careful, you should ignore, you shouldn't wear these kinds of clothes, we just keep on restricting girls as they are only responsible for whatever wrong happens with them. If we have punished boys at that time when they just started doing eve-teasing and commenting and told them that this is wrong, then they would have stopped and understood at that time only but we never do this and this encourages them further to sexually assault a woman.

"The incidents of rape keep occurring because Indian society is more concerned to punish the rapist instead of addressing the issue that made someone rapist."

This is a must-read book for everyone so that everyone could understand and at least try to decrease rape cases prevalent in our society. The language is quite easy to understand and facts and data are well researched which makes it a cakewalk for readers. Do read this book once and don't forget to share your views in the comment section.

To solve a problem, you have to understand it.

In a country where rapes are happening every minute, cases are heavily underreported, criminals are very often not getting severe punishments, a lot of things must be changed. There are plenty of studies on this subject but most of us are purely academic and hence inaccessible to common public. Our familiarity and understanding about this subject is confined to mostly bollywood cinema and other videos which came to public via social/digital media.

In his research based book ‘Why Does A Man Rape?’ Jasbir Singh has tried to explain the fundamental reasons behind this monstrous and disgraceful act in a very elaborated way. He has started with the history and have tried to find the reasons of this crime and it's relation to our societal issues such as illiteracy, unfair practices, and patriarchy.
The author has interviwed ovee 100 people who are convicted for crimes related to rape and have explained the characteristics of different types of rapes. By citing a couple of cases that took place in the country, he has explained the reasons and motives of the perpetrators behind such a henious act. His explanations, case studies and finding about different types of rapes are an eye opener.
A rape victim goes through many traumatic experiences. The social and mental trauma makes the life of a victim extremely difficult. Many times it becomes impossible for the survivors to lead a normal life.
The author has also focussed on the impact of online activities on increasing rape cases. He has also suggested a number of precautions to be considered.
What is the way out? The author has discussed a number of important initiatives that should be taken to control this rape epidemic effectively. Learning about these things will certainly be helpful in creating a better society.

With supports from many researchs, text books and case studies, the author has explained thr biological, societal and mental reasons behind this henious crime. Though it is a research based book, the language and the presentation of the events are very much understandable. The author has tried to keep them extremely simple. There is so much to learn and understand from this book. I strongly recommend reading of this book to everyone.

Book Name : Why Does A Man Rape?
Author : Jasbir Singh
Ratings : 4.5/5
Pages : 132
Genre : Non-Fiction

Why Does a Man Rape By Jasbir Singh is a non fiction book which is a by-product of the detailed research done by the author on the topic of Rape, its causes and its effects.

Summary : This book contains everything about rape, what is it, how were women treated in the earlier times, how they are being treated now, was our culture in favor of gender equality, what are some of the important things to know about this sadistic act of rape, about the survivors and what not. Ranging from the vedic texts, till the present age, the author has covered each and every detail, which is enough to educate you on the topic.

What I Liked : The author has truly done intense research and has put his complete effort so that the book wont seem biased. I was genuinely impressed by it. Moreover, at first when I read the title, the thought which came to my mind was whether the author is going to justify this heinous act, and decided not to pick it. But somewhere I was curious to know whether it is what I felt, but on reading I realized that this was neither justification of rape nor a biased description. It was a perfectly balanced perspective, and there were many things which I did not know, but learnt from this book, especially the mythological references.

What I did not like: Well there isn't anything significant which I didn't like, it was a good read overall. There are some religious references which might hurt the sentiments of some people, but be warned, neither the author can do anything about it as he is merely stating facts nor can the facts change.

Overall, it was a one sitting read, and was explained in moderate language, usual readers can get the hang of it. As it is non-fiction, fiction readers will find it difficult, but the mythological references might keep you attracted. I recommend this book to all so that we can educate ourselves about this and think of measures to stop it.

“Alleged gang rape and murder of 9-year-old Dalit girl prompts protests in India.”

Such heinous rape news blow our minds, shiver us thoroughly & numb us to the core. This recent news shows how backward our thinking is although we’ve triumphed over great technological & scientific heights. Socially, we’re degrading our standards & such sexual assaults just portray the evil side of humanity.

Why is such extreme violence performed by a rapist? What provokes them to act like a monster & inflict pain on victims? What is their mentality? To fathom such unanswered, rare questions, Jasbir Singh has, brilliantly, come up with this book “Why does a man rape?” He has done tremendous research & taken extreme efforts in writing such precise book which correctly points out the reasons behind the act of rape.

He has accurately described history of rape, its psychodynamics, types of rapes & thinking & motives behind each type, why is sex an essential biological need but not “forced sex”, traumas of rape victims, helping them thoroughly, solutions for avoiding rapes & how to bring about the change in our traditional orthodox thinking.

According to author, rape is pseudo-sexual act, concerned more with control, authority & dominance rather than sexual pleasure. Anger & lust are two main causes of any act of rape. In Gang rape, too, the thinking is achieving dominance & masculinity over victim (who is most of the type of another gender) considering them as a weaker gender.

“Rapists’ decision to rape is based on how easily they can feel that their target can be intimidated. They search for open and weak targets; all they’re searching for is a chance and the rest is like a smooth job for them.”

There is one unique topic “Is rape unique to humans?” in which he has described how there are natural cases of forced sexual intercourse in animals such as Orangutans, Dolphins, Boars, Water striders, etc. This section surprised me as I didn’t know about these things.

The language used is very simple & I’m totally impressed by the diverse topics he has chosen to explain all the things. Overall, it’s an awesome book & must be read by everyone. I would highly recommend it.

When I first heard of this book, I was extremely skeptical about it. I felt like there's pretty much a straight answer to the question on the cover, but there's more to it.

"Why does a man Rape" by Jasbir Singh is an effort by the author to make a comprehensive piece about the various aspects of sexual harassment and sexual violence, which includes historical and religious references and background, psychoanalysis of the offenders and a statistical analysis of the data pertaining to the rate of sexual crimes in India. The author starts off with enlisting a few examples of events similar to rape in various religious scriptures and historical records, showing us, with proper references, how the concept of rape is definitely not a modern one. I really appreciated this segment of the book because of the objective and straight forward way in which the author presented his references. It startled me to learn of the horrific acts committed by our gods towards women, which we have somehow forgotten as a society.

In the next segment the author presents his psychoanalysis of the various rapists and sexual offenders that he got to interview. This segment brought to light how things like family upbringing, social views about women and lack of sex education and discussion make a man develop his terrible attitude towards women, which in worst cases leads to acts of sexual aggression such as rape and violence. The author also discusses topics such as honor killings, marital rape and rape committed as a punishment by a society in this segment.

Lastly, the author discusses the scope of sex education in the country, and discusses some reasons as to why it hasn't caught on yet. He then concludes the book by highlighting that it is important that we as a society dismiss the taboo around sex and begin education at our homes as early as possible with our children.

I think this book is really important as a read, and has been well presented by the author with legitimate references to important papers, books and scriptures. I found the editing on the book to be a bit lacking, and I hope the author can fix that.

BOOK NAME: WHY DOES A MAN RAPE
AUTHOR:@jasbirsingh_1

About the author: This book is his third book. Jasbir Singh is contemporary Indian Author. Indian Awaz has called him one of the “100 Inspiring Authors of India'' in 2018. His writings always inspires to think.

About the book: When i first heard about this book, I bit hesitated to read as i have read few articles and books on this topic. Most of them are biased. But while going through this book, it is clearly visible how much research and hard work has done before writing this book.
He has interviewed more than 100 rape offenders for this book. Reading their confessions made me feel teary eyes, angry, disgusting. One can imagine how rape victims feel, what they go through. Very shameful for us as a society. He has written about various kind of rapes, child abuse, sadistic, incest, gang rape. He has also discussed about Marital Rape, which is, I think should be considered as serious as other kind of rapes. He has also given few suggestions on how we can stop it. Language used is very simple. Thanks to author for all his research.
One thing I dint like in this book is giving examples of Rape from Mythology. Mythology is positive belief. Nobody has never seen that period in real. They are just imaginary world. Let's that world be positive atleast. Hope author agree with this.
I recommend this book to everyone. Especially girls. Please read this once. Hardly takes one day. Even less may be. Please read this once. Together as society we can stop this.( Hope so) .
Lines which i loved most from book:
"You broke me into pieces, you ruined my life, you made me impure among the society... But don't worry. I'll stand again and fight with you because my soul is still alive"
Dear Man
No means No
Some understand it, but you don't
Dear man, you're not even a man, not a little, not at all.
I give 5/5
Mothers make your daughter/son read this book once.

Why Does A Man Rape? By Jasbir Singh!

Blurb-
We are living in the society where women are worshipped as Goddesses and other side, they are getting raped in every minute.”Rape cases are increasing every minute in India and it has become a critical issue in our society. Human service providers are being asked to address themselves to this serious social problem. Everyone is finding the root causes behind this heinous crime which is somewhere related to our history but nobody wants to discuss the history as it shows the rapes of women in India and some dark truths which can hurt the sentiments of many people. This book provides a basic framework for understanding the developmental histories, the lifestyles and the motivations of the men who rape.
This work is purely based on the research. This book is a 360 degrees analysis of the rape epidemic in our country. It is written in a nontechnical and highly readable style and should be read by anyone who is concerned with issues of rape. This book is a must read for anyone whose work brings him to contact with a rapist, sexual offender or a victim. Once there was love, now only is pain,
I'll never have that innocence, ever again.
He took it from me, my childhood,
he took away, all that was good.

My review-
I usually avoid books like these. Not because I want to avoid the topic but because they traumatise me too much. But this one was way too interesting for me to not read it soo here I am!

It's quite obvious from the book that the author has done a really great job with the book & it's research. Everything written in the book was on point & makes you think about stuff.

I was shocked by all the words that have been spoken by the past rape offenders.

The author has also included steps to be taken so as to prevent something like this from happening.

All in all, it's an enlightening book. Please be aware of the mature content & triggers.

As per section 375, The legal definition of rape is when a person intentionally penetrates another's vagina, anus or mouth with a penis, without the other person's consent. Assault by penetration is when a person penetrates another person's vagina or anus with any part of the body other than a penis, or by using an object, without the person's consent.

We read so many books and most of them are based on love stories; few are inspirational, and the rest are based on the history of our country or any religion. But this book is something else it will enlighten your mind, broaden your level of thinking, and make you a better person. A person who can challenge societal issues and bring a change in society. Rape is such a topic on which we should talk because it destroys a person mentally to a larger extent. In the book, the author has written the views of the offender as well as the prosecution. From the types of rape to the mindset of the culprit as well as the victim, the author has discussed everything. The author also has mentioned famous case laws being a law student I found this book quite interesting and relevant considering the gravity of the topic the author chose to speak about.
The author's idea behind writing this book was The idea of writing a book on this heinous crime came into my mind when I heard the news of Muzaffarpur, Bihar where thirty-four girls were raped in a shelter home.
The author also has written facts and statical data and covers rape from history till now.

You broke me into many pieces; you ruined my life; you made me impure among the society…but don’t worry I’ll stand again and fight with you because my soul is still alive. ( Voice of a victim)

As a responsible citizen, we must not make such victims feel less or awkward and should respect them as a human.

"If you want to stop the rape cases and want a change, then start it from your own home."

History: The rape of women or youths was a common theme in Greek mythology and if a king wanted to punish a person for some crime; he raped his wife in front of his eyes because earlier a 'wife' was treated as a 'Husband's property'.

It is too shameful to let people know that there are forms or definitions to such a heinous crime as rape.

Rape is an offensive act in which the perpetrator displays his/her resentment, frustration and rage, and bullies the other person for submission. There are three components involved in forcible rapes: Control, Assault, and sexuality.

In any relationship, sexual interactions are performed through mutual agreement, coercion, and manipulation, or through force and abuse. The first way is safe and fine in a relationship but the other two ways are deceptive and immoral or pathological respectively.

There are so many cases mentioned by the author in this book that clearly tell the readers about the mentality of people in our society. Our country still lacks in the public discussion of sexuality in a safe way. And if any person starts thinking about sexuality and related issues that then the person is handled in a bad way because sexuality is still considered a "taboo".

There should be some concerted efforts to change these patriarchal attitudes through education, knowledge, and better rule so that put country can recognize women as an equal part of the development of this country.

The author has done a fantastic job! This book is totally based on research. It covers many topics like Mythology, rape amongst animals, confessions by rape offenders, so on. The author has explained everything in such an easy language.

Wonderful read! You have really done an amazing job, author!!

Sensitive read

"Rape" a women physically abused , forced by a man or group of men to keep sexual relationship with her just to satisfy the men ego.
.
This book begins with the background of rape from mythological point of view that rape isn't just a thing developed in the modern era. The main reason of rape is not lust but lust + anger made someone to do such an abominable crime.
.
It is always a so called theory that women are raped because of their dresses, their behaviour, their ascent, their nature, their friendcircl etc etc. But noone is blamed a man into that extent a girl is blamed. Just because she is a girl she don't have any freedom or don't have self desires to fulfil.
.
To know more about it grab the book & give it a try
.
.
.
The cover of the book is dark it's deep it's intellectually designed & just maintains the darkness of the topic. The writing style of the book is good. It's tried to cover up all the aspects of the theme which is quite appreciating. Author did a beautiful pen work to convey his views his opinions to readers quite impressively. The language used in the book is simple its very much contemporary style of word play some are scrutinized some are messy some are focusing some are impressing it's just a mixture of language with a smart word play. Here you can find a deep research done by the author including the animals the mythology the psychology of human it's reason it's causes & how to stop it in a very detailed manner. No doubt author took a risk to wrote a book on such a delicate topic. But author did a magnificent job to narrate everything in the book in a mature manner. The real life experiences & stories added an extra crunch to the reading pleasance. The suggestions & opinions author put forward through this book is quite acceptable & can be applicable in day to day life. Nicely paced book.

♀️Hola bookstagrammers! How about a well-researched book that gives in-depth facts about the bone-chilling crime against females?

♀️As the name suggests, this book talks about the crime that has shaken the world over the years and tore every nerve of humanity — rape, and tries to decipher the various reasons behind it! The first part of the book talks about the patriarchal mindset of our society and its linking to present-day crimes, sexual violence behavior in some animals and marine species, and how rape isn't unique to humans alone!

♀️The next part recounts tormenting accounts by rape survivors. The author has also painstakingly interviewed rapists and included their confessions. Kudos to the author for his part in trying to understand the mindset of offenders and presenting them to us with sufficient facts. Marital rape is another taboo topic discussed by the author here.

♀️ The author has also mentioned prostitution and it's legalization, the trauma, and stigma faced by the victims due to the late justice or no justice at all. This book is the need of the hour with skyrocketing rape cases everywhere. I liked that the source of researched facts is mentioned on every page.

♀️ "ᴅᴇᴀʀ ꜱᴏᴄɪᴇᴛʏ,
ʏᴏᴜ ʙʟᴀᴍᴇᴅ ᴍᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ᴍʏ ᴄʟᴏᴛʜᴇꜱ,
ʏᴏᴜ ʙʟᴀᴍᴇᴅ ᴍᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ᴍʏ ᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴꜱ,
ʏᴏᴜ ʙʟᴀᴍᴇᴅ ᴍᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ꜱʜᴏᴡɪɴɢ ᴏꜰꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴇᴛᴛʏ ᴡɪɴɢꜱ,

I felt a range of emotions while reading this book — crying while recounting a victim's ordeal, anger while reading the rapist's interview, and pity for our justice system. This book is highly recommended for every one human out there and I would like to salute the author for writing on such a sensitive topic despite severe criticism!

Must Must Read

" Dear Man,
No means no
Some understand it but you don't.
You murdered my innocence,
You took away by pride,
You broke me down & shattered all my faith,
All at once in the stride"

The above is from the epiloge of the book. O found or so chilling and in fact while reading the book there are some portions where my hair stands up.

Beautiful and such an excellent book for everyone to read and understand so much about rape. Rape is something we have been hearing alot nowadays from media, but I didn't go deep into the topic ever, just very sad, helpless, disgusted and all the negative emotions possible.

This book is like an eye-opener. It takes us back to many many centuries back and starts with the different religion and how the looked at this topic or the behaviour according to religion.

Another topic I did find very interesting was " is Rape unique to human? I actually had never pondered over this. The author does an excellent write up on the animals like monkeys, orangutan, dolphins, Boars, beetles etc.

The book them goes into details of the different kind of rape, Vitim impact, mental trauma, Chile abuse alot of case studies and findings.

The case studies are also very chilling. These are like stories but they are actually not stories and are real life events.

Full marks for the research and the simple language the author has written in so even a beginner can read the book.

The knowledge imparted in this book is just not for readers it's for the entire world as a whole. I really thank the author for this incredible book

The cover is so well done too.

I without any doubt will say - Everyone needs to read this book....There is no question on this.

Why does a Man Rape! By Author Jasbir Singh is an effort to clarify the different reasons of this wrong doing by certain men in our general public. In the book the writer initially begins by giving meaning of the word 'Assault' and later on models from folklore. likewise discusses how ladies are rebuffed for a wrongdoing they haven't perpetrated. Some solid realities and feelings are advanced toward the beginning of the book.

The book additionally contains admissions from men who have submitted assault and ladies who have encountered it. The book covers and clarifies all various sorts of assault particularly conjugal assault which isn't viewed as a wrongdoing by any stretch of the imagination. A few admissions of casualties gives us a profound bits of knowledge at what length these provocation hazardously affect the person in question. From kid maltreatment to being a survivor of digital harassing every single angle has been covered by the creator.

Towards the finish of the section, it discusses how the general public can stop assault wrongdoing by giving schooling. Furthermore, has additionally given not many ideas to how we can stop it. What I truly like about this book was first it was composed by a man and he has done some extraordinary examination for this book. Furthermore each and everything referenced in this book is been refered to by giving suitable commentaries. This makes the book more interesting to peruse on the grounds that we get immediate sources from where a specific section is being taken which additionally shows how pervasive this assault wrongdoing is.

By and large I would prescribe this book to everybody regardless in case you're a peruser or not.

Book : Why does a man rape?
Version : Kindle
Author : Jasbir Singh

When I started to read this book , I realized entire country is mourning for the rape and death of a 9 year old girl in Delhi. As a citizen , as a woman the first question that came to my mind was why did that gruesome crime happen? Why does a man rape? I used this book to understand the increasing rates of sexual assault on women.
The book explains about the origin of the incidents in the bygone era and how the victims or the criminals were treated. There are citations and explanations of difference between consensual sex and a forced sex in different religions. This was altogether new concept for me I never thought this is so deep rooted.
In the forthcoming chapters there are details about psychology , childhood trauma , psychodynamics behind these cruel attacks. The author has interviewed the people who had to face this , along with the ones who are responsible. Don’t you think as a society we are also responsible in one way or the other?
The research by the author for this book is exhaustive and very alarming. This book is a must need to understand many other factors for the most hush-hush topic.
We , as citizens become aware only when there are some serious rape crimes running on our television day and night and shaming the victims. High time we move towards in becoming a sensitive society.
The book is a kind of interactive to me , as and when questions popped in my mind , I could find the concepts that are related in the book , which had a detailed explanation.
This is an eye opener. My heartfelt thanks to the author for this book.

Why does a man rape? Can there really be an answer to this question? I was full of doubts before reading this book but reading it was a good idea as although it stirred up my emotions, made me agitated and it was tough to read some parts, it made me understand that we cannot solve a problem unless we truly understand it's nature and even then the solution has to be something that works on the roots of issue.

The author has done a commendable job with the research that has gone behind writing this book but even more admirable is his courage to pen down the history and references of religious scriptures, even though it might hurt people's religious sentiments. The way he has covered all the aspects from history to modern laws, from types of rape to the ways of supporting victims in such a small number of pages deserves to be appreciated.

The book also shows the way forward and the author has given a radical suggestion of decriminalization of prostitution in India. The laws need to be amended, the Indian law categorizes incest rape under the general category of rape and it doesn't even recognise marital rape. So there is a lot to be done when it comes to having proper laws in place but we also need to have some much needed social and education reforms.

This book is on a sensitive matter and is an important read. It enlightened me and broadened my perspective but I think the most important thing that books like this can achieve is to make people think and start a conversation. I hope it reaches more and more people and achieves this.

This is the best non fiction read of the year for me. Wanna know why? Because it has addressed the most important issue of our society & tries to uncover what motivates a man to degrade to such a level where there is no line between him & a monster.
• I'm so glad that someone spoke about this, sex assault is something that is always in news & happening around us but still a little has been spoken about it & mostly victims are bashed, their honour & character questioned, whereas rapists get bail or sometimes they aren't even caught.
• Amidst all this chaos around us, @jasbirsingh_1 took a brave step towards documenting why does a man rape and he doesn't defend them but tries to find the root cause, hidden in our history, religious practices & upbringing.
• The book features interviews with real life victims & rapists which were bone chilling.
• Also, many brutal sexual assaults were discussed as the book progressed. I'm shocked to know how this brutal act is a part of animal kingdom too, how it's more than just a forced intercourse & it's not unique to humans.
• Sex education is more than teaching about intercourse & should be taught from an early stage to avoid subconsciously shaping someone into a rapist.
• It also talks about child abuse, incest & many other forms of sex crime, their impact on victims & confessions of culprits.
• This book also has a good conclusion & safety tips. It's worth a read and should be read by people of all ages for constructing a rape free society.
• I highly recommend this book.

Firstly I don't think I have enough words to review this book. So pardon me.

When I read the blurb of this book I thought that How can a person interview hundred of rapists and record their conversations but after reading this book I can see the hard work behind it. A commendable job done by The author.

Rape is not a modern society crime it is here before ages. The mention of forced copulation is in the mythology also. Though I have read few chapters from Vishnu Purana and Brahmand Purana but never thought so deeply about it. How Wife is always treated as a Husband's property from ages? And there is no one who wants to change their mind. Though India has been developing but these rapes are never gonna stop till we change our mind.

Not only a human body is need t for the rape , Animals are also raped. Even male animals puts traps to capture a female to copulate with them. I got to know why there is less women than men in our society. It's not the hormone or the rage, lust to rape some one but also the other person is responsible for the same as we never protest against it. If parents starts educating their children from their childhood, the importance of a women in their life or anyone then I think it can be reduced a little.

The more toxic mind the more destruction.

What is rape, how many types of rapes are there, reason behind rape, how can we stop rape, how to prevent to be a victim? All has been described so meticulously in this book.
A must read for everyone.

Why does a man rape

The word Rape and title of the book gives a gist of the book what would it be about. So Rape is a common word we hear out on news, social media and the news is repeated again and again in the hope of getting justice for the victim.

The question only arises why does this heinous crime happened? What made him do that ? What action should be taken against such crime so that it can be stopped? Raper does not only simply do this crime but effect the confidence of the victim and her life.

Many examples are taken from the the incidents which took place in the book. The author has given his views on this issue in the book that how it can be avoided and laws should be there to have strong action against the sinners. There are many reasons discussed in the book that why this crime is happening or why men are doing such kind of heinous crime.

But it should not happened as the people should be treated equally and men should learn to control their
urge and proper guidance should be given from childhood only to boy and girl that each individual should be treated equal.

The author has also suggested some impactful opinion to reduce the number of rape cases because as the past incidents are discussed in the book it is seen many cases against small girl children are also increasing day by day.First of all our society should change their way of seeing the women and accepting their major role in the society then only change can be made.

Very informative and action taking book to read. I would definitely recommend this.

✴️Do not ask!
-How short or low cut my dress was.
-Was I in relationship with him.
-Did I agree to sleep on the same bed with him.
-If I first said YES and later said NO.
-Why I went to the location of my rape.
✴️Instead ask!!
-DID I SAY YES?

⭐ First of all,I really praise the Author for coming forward and writing about such a sensitive topic and saying the much needed about what is still considered as a taboo in our society.Believe it or not,our society still needs to learn about what a consent and saying no means.
Let's face the fact we are developing agreed, but not socially.Society is still filled with perverts and criminals who see woman as their property.

⭐Rape- "Rape is a type of sexual assault carried out against a person without that person's consent".
"Why does a man rape?", is a non-fiction, dedicated to all rape survivors. The book is a thorough research of the author who tried his best to find the real cause behind rapes.

⭐It begins with a clear defining of the term "Rape",followed by its dark history and case studies based on real incidents.

⭐Author has explained everything so well in lucid language, the culprit and the victim mindset and his thought on the topic. It is a well written book which says the fact.Reading case studies was the most difficult part of the book for me,my heart really ached when I was going through it.

⭐I would recommend it as "MUST READ".
