Bunbun and Bonbon are the best of friends -- not quite to the level of Frog & Toad, but getting there. In this adventure they are having a picnic and reading their superhero comics when a storm blows in. Bonbon's cape gets caught under a fallen tree in the kerfluffle. Can Captain Bun (Bunbun) use his "strength of feet" to rescue the cape for Super Bonbon? What's that? Is that a cry for help from across the river? Captain Bun and Super Bonbon add a new superhero (Silver Shadow) to their squad when they help a racoon rescue her kite from a dark and scary cave. Then, it's time for a picnic. Don't for get the donuts! Colorful graphics are paired with easy-to-read word bubbles and text to make this a perfect choice for early readers.

Bunbun and bonbon go on a picnic armed with their lunches and imagination, all ready for the perfect day. Everything is great until it starts to rain! Will their picnic be absolutely ruined? No, because Captain Bun and Super Bonbon come to save the day!

Again, a super cute graphic novel and I can't get enough of their optimism that is fueled by their imaginations. Nothing can dampen their day, not even bad weather.

Bunbun and Bonbon are enjoying a picnic when a super storm hits. When Bonbon's cape gets swept away and trapped under a tree they discover they have super abilities to tackle the situation. Could they be superheroes? Could they help anyone else?

A very cute little graphic novel about viewing your natural strengths as super abilities, but also tackling your weaknesses with the help of friends. I love how they want to help others, and as always, the artwork is adorable. Recommended to graphic novel fans who love friendship stories and adorable heroes with big hearts.

The kid that i'm reading this with gave it ONE STAR! I think that's a little harsh tbh, but she said it wasn't as funny as the last two were. I think she was underwhelmed with the superhero thing and just didn't know how to express it 🤷‍♀️

Either way, we're both hoping there will be a book 4

Bunbun and Bonbon are having a fun picnic when a storm suddenly blows in. While they are recovering from the storm they hear a cry for help. A new super adorable creature joins their friendship circle and it turns out there is always room for more fun and there are always enough donuts to go around.

An early level reader graphic novel combo is tempting for any new reader. Bunbun and Bonbon continue to amuse both me and my son (now 8). I mean, they are so cute and adorable. What is not to like? I think it will appeal to both girls and boys in this age group. Although I will admit a Bonbon eating sweets at a picnic feels a little... cannibalistic.

Jess Keating's Bunbun and Bonbon series are a staple in our house. I love these fun characters, the illustrations, and the messages of friendship in each book. These are great to read as a family and also for emerging readers to read on their own!

Bunbun and Bonbon start with a picnic, get caught in a storm, and end up playing superhero, helping another animal who was affected by the storm. The art tells the story.

Bunbun & Bonbon are two silly new friends: a rabbbit and a bonbon? They have a fabulous day with all their favorite things--comics, costumes, and treats. When a big storm hits, they don their super-hero capes, choose silly names, and save the day (overcoming some of their own fears along the way). Simple, easy reader in comic book style, to inspire each of us to stand tall in facing whatever comes our way. Illustrations are tops, colors are bold, and for the most part, the text flows well.

I did object some to the small pink words above the caption boxes. . . not intuitive for new readers to follow. On the whole, the story was fine, funny, and a little silly, but not overly spectacular or interesting.

Checked out at library and reviewed in consideration for Cybils Award Early Chapter Book shortlist for 2021.
