Brax is too young. Too vulnerable. Too perfect. My dominant nature craves someone to care for. Someone to command. Brax could be that guy if the circumstances weren’t all wrong. His brothers would kill me if I hurt him. So would my FBI partner. That doesn’t mean I can stay away. The young artist is everything I want in a partner. And when danger comes for him, I need to keep him safe. But how can I keep him forever?
I’ll never be good enough. My brothers got me off the streets, but Ry doesn’t know the truth. I’m dirty. I’ve done things I’m not proud of. Things none of my former boyfriends could see past. Why would Ry be any different? He sees the world in black and white. I know where I stand. But he looks at me with a heat I can’t ignore. And when I’m in danger, he keeps me safe. Will he accept me when he learns the truth?
Brax and Ryland's romance was wonderfully sweet and steamy, despite its rocky start. Brax was one of those characters that I couldn't help but fall in love with right away, and seeing him keep giving Ian chance after chance made me so frustrated. As upset as I was about the catalyst for Brax finally ending things with him, it did make my heart happy to see Ryland step up and be the protector Brax had been searching for all along. I didn't really understand their insistence on pursuing a physical relationship without strings attached, but the two of them were so sweet together that I knew it'd only be a matter of time before that changed. While Brax and Ryland's romance was undoubtably the main storyline of this book, I was pretty satisfied with the conclusion of Ryland's forgery case and Brax's art show. Unlike some stories that have a bunch of manufactured drama, Brax and Ryland's book was refreshingly realistic, as if I'd gotten a glimpse into the life of an actual couple living out their usual routine together.
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Body and Soul is my favourite in this series so far. I felt like it hit much closer to the mark compared to the first two. There is much less miscommunication between the MCs in this one, and what bit there is makes sense and stems from the characters’ personalities. I understood both Brax and Ry’s hesitance to give a relationship a real shot, but despite them both wanting to believe it’s nothing serious, the feelings have been there for years. I adored Ry’s protectiveness over Brax and the chemistry between them is simply undeniable. I do wish there was a bit more exploration of the Dom/sub dynamic, but all the tenderness and passion more then made up for it. And of course it was great to visit all the brothers again and catch up with their lives. I can’t wait for Richie’s story next!
Aiden Bates has fast become one of my favorite authors. While the genre of the book is diffidently not for everyone...he has none the less created another book in this series with believable, likeable, but again, damaged characters. Brax has a lot of personal issues…way more than a man of 24 should have. Ry is career , (FBI), focused and is very unforgiving of those that commit wrongs. These two appear so wrong but yet so right for each other. This story has some violence… a great deal of strong family ties…and some laughs. It deals with trauma and the effects and healing process is very emotional but keeps the reader glued to the pages and wanting more. Despite some of the darker aspects, I often found myself often smiling since Brax is a truly sweet, loving and bright
Love love love. This book checked so many boxes for me that I was sad to see it end. I’m so happy Ry could help Braxton out of his toxic and abusive relationship and didn’t rush him into anything. Then right when I thought it would all implode with this friends with benefits silliness the boys pulled through. The case was an interesting background plot and the shoot out was intense. They were such a cute couple together and I’m happy that Braxton was able to become more self confident by the end. I’m so proud of my baby.
This was such a fantastic, grab-you-by-the-feels, poignant, engaging, lovely, heartfelt, simmering, amazing, raw, gritty, gripping, and totally awesome addition to this exciting series. It had me hooked from beginning to end, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I would have loved it if I had read the first two books to this series, and if they are anything like this one, I gotta read them!
I enjoyed the whole book and I didn’t lose interest in any part of the reading. As always, Aiden’s characters are interesting and full of life and I loved all the characters, well except for Ian and his sleazy friends. Ian was Braxton’s boyfriend at the time and he hurts Braxton terribly.
Braxton’s had a terrifying childhood with doing anything to survive, and then one day he was rescued by his oldest adopted brother, Derek at age sixteen. Now, Braxton’s family consisted of eight foster brothers who adored and protected him as the youngest.
They all lived in Vanguard Towers, once a warehouse that his other oldest brother’s Matt and Sean had renovated the warehouse into eight apartments so all of them could be living in the same place but separate. I loved all of Braxton’s brothers, they are the kind of brothers I dreamed of having.
But even though Braxton survived, it didn’t take away the nightmares from the traumas. At one time Ian had helped with his nightmares when they slept together, but Ian’s became part of his nightmares as his attitude change towards him trigging stress becoming very disrespectful. Braxton knew he had to break their relationship off, but he didn’t want to be alone.
Braxton’s brother, Hunter lived just up the hall from him, and he was an FBI agent with his best friend and work partner, Ryland Masters. Ryland, the one-man Braxton’s attracted to and lusts after; Ryland is fourteen years older than Braxton. The two had kept their attraction for each other a secret.
Then one day, Ryland breaks his normal routine where he usually brings a latte for Braxton every morning then walked down the hall to Braxton’s brother's apartment to pick up Hunter on the way to work. Ryland had never entered Braxton’s apartment even though he desperately wanted to.
But not on this one particular morning, Ryland sees the weariness on Braxton’s face and wanted to know what was wrong. Ryland has worried about Braxton’s boyfriend and just wanted him to be safe and happy. So he breaks his routine and steps into Braxton’s apartment.
Braxton confessed it was the nightmares he has and they have increased since Ian’s moodiness. Ian was very bad for Braxton, as his brothers had told him many times. Ian was a bad boyfriend with his disrespect and his touches were making the young man cringe. His brothers respected his choice of who he dated and had worried about the type of person Ian was, but they would never interfered unless Ian hurt Brax.
So much goes on in the book but everything falls into place as you read on. While Ryland and Hunter worried about Brax, they still had a job to do with finding out whom and where this killer Monet was hiding. Then the growing feelings both he and Brax dealt with. Plus, Braxton’s a rising gifted artist and has been given a chance to have a showing at Fridge Gallery of his newest work. He has to come up with a series of painting with a theme to connect them together. The problem has been that he can’t seem to come up with the theme he’d like to paint. There’s just so much confusion going on in his life.
On top of all that, Ian makes a move and attacks Braxton with Ian’s two sleazy friends. And he calls Ryland to help him that night and later Ryland was continuing to protect him in his house, along with the support and protection from his brothers.
I’m not thrilled about Dom/Sub relationships, but this was well written for my taste; commanding, but mild. Not abusive, and Ryland gave some freedom of choice and love.
Ryland and Hunter have had no leads on their case until an unexpected person shared his knowledge about Monet and that gives Hunter and Ryland the break they needed in their case, and then the action of SWAT and FBI are busting down walls for their fugitive.
I could go on and on about how good this book was to read, but it’s always best when you read and are pleasantly surprised.

Simply outstanding First of all this series has been absolutely outstanding so far I feel like I know these brothers inside out and then you read a new book and you barely scratched the surface.
So body and soul is about youngest brother Braxton Who is dating Ian who is a controlling not very nice guy if I’m honest. And Brax's who thought Ian was the one explain to him about his past something he doesn’t do as his past is very very hard for him to talk about. But virtually as soon as he had spoke to him about it everything changed, he started to treat Brax’s like he was a piece of meat and everyone around him could see it. His brothers tried to tell him that Brax's needed to dump him and concentrate on his art. His highlight of the day was when Ryland bought him his morning coffee. Brax had a mad crush on Ryland for a long time many many years. He didn’t know how his brother Hunter would feel about him crushing on his work partner. They were both FBI agents. But when something happens Ry was the first person that Brax’s called because he knew his brothers would fly off the handle. And this night changed everything for them. Ryland had feelings for Brax's for a long time that he thought he was too old for him. But that didn’t stop him being protective of him. Every morning he bought him a coffee just so he could see him and make sure he’s okay. He didn’t like his new boyfriend at all he thought Ian was too controlling and he’d notice changes in Brax’s. When he got a phone call one night from Brax’s he knew something was wrong and when he turned up and Brax had what looked like a split lip and a blackeye it took everything in him to keep his anger at bay!!!! Brax’s needed him now. Spending time alone with Brax at his home, they found it highlighted what they were feeling for one another but Ry wanted to make sure it wasn’t a rebound reaction And as Ry was a Dom He was used to being in control. And he quickly saw that he was exactly what Brax needed. This is an outstanding read I just could not put it down. To see what Braxton had gone through as a child was soul destroying. You totally understood why he had nightmares. I felt a relief knowing when Matt had taken him in and he became a brother to these amazing man. My heart really did go out to Brax. And oh my gosh!!!!!!!! We all need a Ryland in our life where do we find a man like this?? (Just as a friend in my case as I’m very happy married) but this man will have your back he will protect you he will be there for you at the end of the phone. Ry and Brax are just magical together. Oh the the little sly looks they give each other just because they can’t keep their eyes off each other made my skin tingle. I do wish we found out about the court case that will be my own bugbear but I’m hoping that we here in later books. Super excited for the next book in the series bring it on.

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt! Body and Soul Vanguard Towers, Book 3 By: Aiden Bates Narrated by: Guillaume Dubois
I loved this book, the story is well written with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Even though this is the third book in the series I was able to enjoy it on its own, I will definitely be catching up with the first two books since I loved this book and want to know more about the other characters in the Vanguard Towers series. This book is Braxton and Ryland’s story, Brax lives in Vanguard Towers with his foster brothers, each having their own space. He is an up and coming artist and has not had the best luck with men, his current boyfriend Ian turns two be a real piece of work. Ryland works with Brax’s older brother Hunter in the FBI, he has taken a liking to Brax and stops by his apartment when he visits Vanguard Towers. My heart broke for Brax, he suffered from PTS from past incidents in his life and then Ian turns on him. I am proud of the way he handled himself and that he chose to call Ryland for help instead of getting his brothers involved. I loved how Ryland was there for him, his patient care and not pushing him. The chemistry between them was smoking and I thought they were great together and for each other. A lot goes on in this book, the story is nicely plotted with plenty of drama, personal, relationship and crime drama/mystery, a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful romance. I liked how the break in the case Hunter and Ry was working on came about. Aiden Bates thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Guillaume Dubois is a talented narrator and voice artist. He did a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart he put in to his work as he captured the character’s emotions and projected them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.
This is only book three of this series but they just keep getting better! I knew that Brax and Ry would be a cute coupling and I wasn't wrong. Ry has had a 'Daddy' vibe about him from the start when he's been around Brax and it really shines through in this book; Brax has a vulnerability that he hides, poorly, but really wants to be looked after by someone he trusts, someone exactly like Ry!
As with all Aiden Bates' books this one is well written with emotional and descriptive language making the reader part of the story; you can smell the fear, the chai, the kittens, the shower gel, the food and you can feel the pain, the history, the unsaid words, the brush of hands, the hot breath on a shoulder, the scrape of teeth, the build of tension! It's all there, flowing with great pace with the only awkwardness being planned by AB between the characters.
Our two main characters have chemistry in paint pots and as always AB has created character traits to set them apart, and makes you fall in love with them a little bit more with each page you read. As before there is the supporting cast of the 'family of brothers', all of whom live at the Vanguard Towers. We've met them all in the previous books and each will get their own book at some point. There are also characters specific to Brax that we have briefly been introduced to before.
I loved this book, as I knew I would and can't wait for the next one. I'm totally recommending it to you as an addition to your Kindle today xx

Guillaume Dubois is a wonderful reader! How delightful to encounter yet another wonderful narrator after all these years. This seems to be an exciting series that allows one to jump right into the current book without having to review the previous two books. I must admit that I'm willing to do just that because I've encountered some favorable books by this author. But this book features a main character that had to 'endure' on the streets as a teenager. Some of the things he did to survive and some of the things that happened to him are disturbing and are mentioned in some detail, including nightmares and flashbacks. That this character is a submissive that craves being dominated is nothing short of upsetting and puzzling. Why would these get paired? I just don't know! Don't want to know, to be brutally honest! The other main character in the book is willing to serve such a function, upping the creep factor for those that find each of these subjects less than thrilling individually. Combined? Just don't do it! Or at least use caution! I found myself fast-forwarding large bits of the book. But for those that are willing to endure all flavors of love, including a guy who allows himself to be treated in a 'love' relationship in a way that is categorically no different that the abuse he suffered as an abused, homeless teen... Well... Different strokes for different folks.
A good book with a character that shows strong, independent character development
Note: I read this book as a standalone. I have not read any of the previous books in the series. However, you are able to understand the story without reading the previous books from the series.
TW: Sexual Assault, abusive relationship, gunfight
This book is told from the point of view of the 2 MCs; Brax and Ryland. Both of them have a crush on each other for years but they kept it to themselves. Brax lives with his brothers. He used to be homeless, having ran away from an abusive foster father and has carried trauma due to his past. He is currently dating Ian who is an a**hole of a boyfriend and treats Brax poorly. After Ian did some even worst things to Brax, Brax leaves him and ask Ryland for help. Being together eventually led Brax and Ryland to being intimate and eventually leading to a relationship at the end. I liked how Brax was able to have character development that was mostly attributed to him working on himself rather than a result of someone else working to solve Brax's problems. I liked the flow of the story as it was not forced to reach a conclusion and rather it flowed naturally. All in all, it is a good book.

I’m reviewing the audio edition. The lead up to the relationship between Brax and Ry sure made my heart skip a beat of fear. Brax’s boyfriend was bad for him. Too pushy, too feeling superior, too just a complete jerk. When Ian and friends have a drinking get together and plan on passing Brax around, it’s the final step for the relationship. Ry steps in and comes to the rescue. He feels as Brax’s brother Hunter’s partner and BFF plus the difference in age, he should be hands off of Brax. They end up with an arrangement but Brax found himself wanting more with Ry. When Hunter and Ry’s job gets them hurt feelings come to the front. Before long both want more but surprisingly Ry only asks if Brax will be his boyfriend. I feel that even though this is supposed to be D/S characters, I don’t feel they quite fit. Ry has a alpha personality and Brax wants a sort of sub relationship but they seem pretty mild in the stereotype of these titles. The sex between these two is hot. One thing is I don’t feel the relationship between these two is solid. They both want it but it’s not defined. They do decide to move in together but it feels like there should be a epilogue or more to the story. I enjoyed the interaction between the brothers. I think Guillaume Dubois did a great job with the narration. Now I’m anxious for the next story which I believe is Richie’s.
This book is an absolute must read! The next story about the brothers in Vanguard Towers and this time it's Braxton's turn. He has had a crush on his brother Hunter's partner for some time. He swears Ryland would be so much more caring than his current boyfriend Ian who has actually been treated him pretty badly. At least since he found out the truth about Brax's past. Ian tells him to come over one night after he's done working on his paintings and it is a night that will change Brax's life. He will arrive at Ian's house to find him and two of his friends drunk. When Braxton realizes Ian means to share him with his friends, he fights with everything he has and will be hurt in the process. He will call Ryland to come and pick him up and it will start them on the path to a relationship though the journey will be a bit bumpy. Ryland will struggle with his feelings for Braxton and the case he's working on at the FBI. It will be Braxton who gives him the much needed break they need to solve the case. When Ryland is hurt capturing the bad guy, Braxton will be beside himself with worry. Ryland will come to terms with his feelings, though and the two will admit the love they have for each other and it will clear the way for them to start on their happily ever after.

I went into this book unsure about what to think...just needed a good MM book to listen to because that's how I deal with the stress of grad school. I was very surprised. I am very sex positive but don't have a lot of exposure to dom/sub literature.
What I learned in this book is this: dominance and submission relationships are not about weakness or abuse. They don't involve releasing your identity to the other person. Neither person is any less a "man" (or "woman")...but that gets into discussions about sexism and society's view that weakness equals femininity. Both Brax and Ry are complex characters...and while one is the dom, both are resilient, strong, and powerful. This is just expressed in different ways. It is just as powerful for someone to leave an abusive relationship as it is for someone to devote themselves to fighting crime. They learn from each other and give each other room to be human. The brothers surrounding Brax was comedic but I also appreciated Aiden Bates' decision to have the brothers empower Brax in his decisions.
I love this book...really. Guillaume Dubois was fantastic at narrating. He didn't overact...his performance was relatable and easily distinguishable. Two thumbs up on this one!
The book was okay. There were a number of missing words and the "if anyone hurts you I'll kill them" from all of his brothers and Ry got old. Especially as it's all posturing. No one actually does anything except Ry throws one punch. I don't understand the point of everyone saying it the whole book if they aren't going to back it up. Maybe to make Brax feel care for? Also, the beginning of the book is Brax all talking how he needs a dominant man in and outside the bedroom. So my expectations were very different than how their relationship ended up. Which I'm normally perfectly fine with, but in this case I was disappointed since I was expecting something else. I did really like the premise. Though I wish we had seen what happened to Ian. Even though it was obvious the writer only used him as a tool to get our two MCs together and then dropped him, and that plot, entirely. Over all the book was fine. It just fell flat for me.
When you're ready, go after what you want! Rhyland, Hunter's partner, had "feels" for Braxton, from afar. He was aware that Hunter was his older brother and he was at least 14 years older than Brax. He took being an 'agent' seriously and didn't have anything more important in his life. Braxton, had a rough childhood that affected, who he was as a man today. His 7 brothers were his personal 'support group/comfy zone'. Brax, channeled his baggage into his art. He is a rising star in the art community. He has been crushing on Ryland, since forever. He didn't think he was worthy, and he kept it to himself. He was working on building up his self-esteem. He was considering breaking up with his current boyfriend, Ian. Their relationship took a dark turn and neither his brothers, nor the family animals liked Ian. Will Brax break up with Ian? Will Rhyland make his move? What will Hunter say about a Rhylan and Brax? Can the brothers like Rhyland? Nice story of growth. Interesting conflict resolution. The author has created a wonderful supportive family environment. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ryland and Braxton having been watching each other for years, neither of them acted on their attraction because they didn't think that Ry's partner, and Brax's brother, Hunter would approve. It didn't stop them from lightly flirting every morning when Ry brought Brax a chai latte when he stopped to pick up Hunter. Braxton had been dating Ian for awhile, which drove Ry crazy because he hated the way Ian treated Brax, everyone did. One night Ian went too far, and Brax needed a ride home, but he didn't want any of his brothers to know what happened, so he called Ry. Ry picked him up, took him to his house and took care of him. The incident presented them with an opportunity to test the waters between them. Their relationship developed slowly, but with some encouragement from Brax's brothers, minus Hunter, they explored and built an agreement. Ry isn't nearly as stiff and cold as he appeared in the other books, but he does have ethics that he had to overcome. Brax is stronger than than he seemed, and very giddy, more so when Ry is around. I enjoyed reading this story a lot.
Sweet Braxton I absolutely adored this book. I was eager to read Braxton's story. It was more traumatic and poignant than I imagined it would be. I loved his big family of brothers. They loved and wanted to protect him, but allowed him to live his adult life and make mistakes. Brax didn't feel he measured up to his brothers, that he didn't deserve being with Vanguards that his status as an Artist didn't equate. That type of work or career was not important enough.
Even though none of his brothers made him feel different. It took a big sexy federal law enforcement man, kind of taboo as his older brother's friend and partner, to make the Omega finally realize his worth. One of my favorite characters is Domino a little black and white kitten. He often stole the spotlight. He was a great source of levity and comfort. The central theme of not being defined by your past and making the most of your future and how lucky to be surrounded by loved ones and annoying brothers. A realization that a busy schedule doesn't end a relationship with the right person.
Body and soul by Aiden Bates is a mxm romance which is the third book in the vanguard towers series which is a tower built by 7 adoptive brothers who are mostly gay. This series follows each brother and their romance. This book follows Braxton who is an artist who struggles with thinking that his work doesn't matter since his brothers are frontline workers. At the start, he is with a asshole boyfriend called Ian who everyone just hates. Our other perspective is ryland, who is an older gentleman who has had a crush on Brax but does not go for it. This book was absolutely adorable. So tropes this book falls into is a light dom-sub relationship, older-younger man etc. I loved to see the differences between the characters and loved to see how they fit together within them too. I loved this book and liked the writing as well. The way everything wrapped up was great, i also liked the smut although it was pretty generic for Aiden Bates' book. I gave it 4 stars because I liked their dynamic but the book itself was forgettable.

3.5/5 I enjoyed this one more than the previous two, but I think I'm going to stop this series for now. There are definitely things I like about it- there's genuine love between the brothers, some great banter, and some scenes are quite sexy. However, when I'm reading them, I kind of just want them to be over. This installment was the best one yet though. The characters felt more mature and it's very likely because Brax was in therapy-something quite frankly all of the characters need. Plus, Brax is an artist and his passion is palpable. He and Ry were great together, each giving the other what they needed. One other thing I want to point out, is how noticeable some of the editing errors were. Usually, I can overlook them, but there were several times sentences just stopped midway and it was jarring. I may read the other two books at some point, though I'd most like to read Matt's story, which hasn't been written, and given how long it's been since book 5, I'm not sure if it ever will be.
Aiden Bates has delivered a book that is captivating with characters that are just so beautifully crafted that they leap off the pages and straight into your heart. Brax had a rough childhood, right up until his "brothers" rescued him off the streets and gave him a home and a family. When Brax tells his boyfriend about what it took for him to survive on the streets he realises that his boyfriends is a narcissistic bully who, instead of supporting Brax, starts treating him like he is not worthy of respect. But when he takes it too far and the only person Brax can think of to call is Ryland, his brother's partner at the FBI and the man Brax has been crushing on for ages. Ryland was the exact right person to call, he gets Brax through it all and who, unbeknownst to Brax, has had feelings for Brax since he first saw him but the age difference, amongst other things, has kept him from pursuing anything, until now.

Braxton has had a rough life. When living on the streets he’s had to do things to survive that he’s not proud of. None of his prior boyfriends have been able to get past what he’s had to do so why would Ryland. Braxton has been crushing on his brother’s FBI partner for years but he knows that once Ryland knows the truth he’ll think he’s dirty.
Ryland knows he shouldn’t want Braxton. Not only is he a lot younger than him but one of his brothers is his partner in the FBI. But something about Braxton calls to Ryland’s nurturing nature. When he finds Braxton is in danger he throws all his doubts out the window and decides to make Braxton his.
Braxton is like a puppy you just want to hold and protect. Despite what he’s been through he still has so much love and beauty inside him. It just shows his strength of character. Ryland is his perfect match. Where Braxton is all bright and colorful, Ryland sees things in black and white. Great story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
4.5☆ Due to his traumatic past, Brax has self esteem issues - he is a survivor, a vibrant young man, and a talented artist but he needs to recognize his own worth and be respected. Ryland is a stoic man, an FBI agent, and a long time friend of the family. These men have been attracted to each other for a long time and when they finally give in, their passion is intense and their connection grows stronger and deeper, they genuinely care for each other, their love is undeniable, and their HEA is sweet and satisfying. I really liked these characters, the way they connected, reacted to, and were there for each other. This story has some violence, strong family ties, laughs, it deals with trauma - its effects and healing process, is very emotional, and will have you glued to the pages and wanting more. Despite some of the darker aspects in this story, I often found myself smiling as Brax is a truly sweet and bright character. I would definitely recommend this book.

Ryland and Braxton both cared about each other. But Ryland thought Braxton was too young and vulnerable to be caught up with him. Besides, one of Braxton’s brothers is his partner in the FBI and would kill him if he ever hurt his brother. However, Ryland’s protective nature needed the contact with Braxton, so he brought coffee to him each morning, just to see that he was doing okay.
Braxton’s boyfriend was not a good choice for him. Ian was controlling and turned violent. So when Braxton runs into trouble, he immediately knows to call Ryland for help. Will the two of them realize that their age difference is not important? How they feel about each other is what matters.
For the record, I despise dom/sub stuff. But this author is really good and his books are worth reading. His characters are likable and the story lines are always meaningful. Grab your copy and be ready for an emotional journey that will leave an impact on you by the last page. You definitely will never be bored!
I am beginning to think that this is my favorite series Aiden Bates has written, and I’ve read several. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite couple from this series, though. Each one has been wonderful and charming, in their own way.
Right away I loved how protective Ryland is of Brax. Not only that, he seems to really get him, on a level Brax’s brothers haven’t even reached. It’s swoon worthy stuff. Their chemistry is off the charts, and if two people truly can be made for each other, they’re it.
This was a well written story, with all the lovable guys we’ve come to know. We meet a few more, as well. I love how everyone is in each book. It’s like never having to say goodbye. Also...I really want a kitten, now.
The storyline included more than just romance and steam. There were scumbag exes, a mystery that was struggling to be solved, and lots of family hijinks. I loved every moment of it, too.

This is a really nice story about unrelated, homeless or abused men becoming a family to protect and care for each other. The support the brothers and their friends gave each other was fabulous and heart rending. When Brax is attacked, one of his brothers partners in the FBI, Ryland, comes to pick him up and take care of him until he can get himself together enough to go home and tell his brothers what happened. They all rally around him, but Ry gives him the care he needs to understand his worth as a human and his abilities as an artist. The characters in this story were well defined and each had their special role to play in the story. Although there were a few small violent parts, the story referred to horrible events in Brax's past without delving too much and losing track of the current plot. I loved the protectiveness and support the characters gave each other. We all could use support like this.

Wow Aiden knows how to hit you just where it counts. I am in love with this series. I find myself saying that a lot with series he either coauthors or writes alone. But he has a way of using words to cause maximum emotional connections between you and the characters. I’ve enjoyed the Vanguard Towers books so far. With this being Brax and Ry’s book and also the third in the series, there is both an element of surprise and familiarity in the storyline. Since this series revolves around a group of 8 brothers and their quest for HEA, we are treated to reoccurring characters and a running storyline that is fun to follow. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading Ritchie’s story next and seeing if he can finally land his man Cameron and find his HEA. This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book. I did purchase an additional copy for my personal library.
Seharusnya Brax knows better than that, tahu hubungannya dengan Ian adalah disaster waiting to happen.
I'm enjoying this series with the brothers and Braxton's (the youngest) story had me with a lot feels. Felt so much for Braxton plight as a young man when he was younger. So glad he was saved by Matt (one of the oldest brother). He is a beautiful soul and just need the right guy to fulfill him completely. Ryland is just that guy...he is a family friend and Braxton crush for years. Little does he know Ryland feels intensely for him...he wants to take care and nurture the young man. OMG... this was a lovely slow burn romance and when the two finally come together the chemistry was explosive. Sometimes it takes an explosive incident for people to realize their true feelings for each other and we get that with these two. The result is oh so wonderful. Loved it! Can't wait for Richie's story next.

Braxton is the youngest of the Vanguard family but he wants to be more than the 'baby' that needs protection. Ryland has kept his distance for a number of reasons though those reasons don't seem so important now that Braxton is single and reached out to him. The Vanguard brothers are a self-made family of front line responders and Braxton doesn't feel worthy since he is an artist. Ryland is an FBI Special Agent and Braxton's brother Hunter's partner so he knows he cannot make a misstep with Brax. This series is full of drool-worthy alpha heroes and strong, independent omegas who love fiercely and have each other's backs. The characterizations are so well written that the reader feels like you have to say goodbye when you close the book. The interpersonal dynamics make the stories wonderful. This is another must-read by a great author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
