After their many triumphs against powerful Named Monsters, it’s time for Arihito and his party to take a much-needed break! Their first post-reincarnation vacation brings them to a health resort managed by the Guild, providing the perfect opportunity for the group to get to know one another even better. Rest and relaxation may not come easy for Arihito and his friends, though, because a familiar face from the White Night Brigade has an eye on Arihito’s infamous rearguard skills...!
I don’t know why I keep picking up books in this series. Every event is telegraphed without subtlety. The dialog sameness is tedious (every character stammers nervously) and descriptions are sparse. One of the main encounters of this story is only marginally detailed in the author’s afterward at the book’s end. Not good, and still, not recommended.
This is a fun dungeon crawler of an Isekai. I like the character interaction and I also like the way the story progresses hope to read the next one soon.
This fifth volume officially finished the first part of this light novel series. I do not recommend you read it because it is a vacation volume. All they do is eat, celebrate, go to a vacation island. This volume has 5 chapters and 200+ pages. If you skip this volume, none of the plot arcs are missing. It is amazing to make one side story or several side stories as one whole volume. I hope author has not run out of ideas for this light novel series. All of the main characters and side characters go to this vacation place. The more this series progresses the more flirting goes on between the girl characters and the main character, Arihito. The sexual pressure, competition to cross the limits by all the girls and the non-commital attitude Arihito has with everyone is super frustrating to read. Arihito used to be a Job-slave in his past life and now he is like a damsel in distress magnet. Author makes it so that everybody Arihito and his team meets is female, or like with Corelone, a feminine acting guy tailor. There is no point to having such a huge "harem" of beautiful girls if the main character, Arihito is the biggest wimp in the multiverse. The other thing is that this series, because of the author's design, has an "original sin" in that the jobs (professions) are useless for seeking (adventuring), the skills they gain are useless. The odds of everybody dying because they do not have the jobs or the skills needed to overcome is always present. Author to create fake/cheap drama, makes main characters and side characters overcome by the seat of their pants. Each time it gets harder to win, harder to believe that they won and Arihito is not all powerful, he continues to write checks that his body can't cash. Author wants the risk or constant failure strong, so that readers think that this series is "so dramatic" but using common sense, Arihito places his team in unnecessary danger (to gain a familiar, to save a stranger, to help their friends, etc.) Arihito can't bring his friends back to life, he should be more humble and fearful of the unknown. Author makes all the named monsters stronger, their "enemies" stronger, the "unknown antagonists" stronger, because he is making his protagonists "destined to fail". Author's ulterior motive is to have his main characters fail.
This volume continues with the story of Arihito's party, definitely a party of workaholics. Despite having a rest day, the party didn't stop in their work. The author does a good job with the fight scenes narrations. Is a nice touch including the game mechanics as narrative. The volume ends in a good cliffhanger and for sure I'll be looking for the next volume in this serie.
It has been a rushed time with limited rest for anyone who has been associated with Stone and the title of Advanced Seeker. What awaits the party now, whatever it is it's sure to continue to keep your attention till you place it down finished.
