There is something to be said for authors who really know their readers. They understand what is wanted and still make every story fresh and engaging. Kristen Proby has figured out just that. She started with her With Me Series and then incorporated or you could say, expanded the connections to include a new group, The O'Callaghans. It has worked perfectly and Flirt With Me has all the players interacting.

Our main focus is on Maeve and Hunter.

Maeve is an O'Callaghan and loves her family to bits. They have a pub that is the hub of this story, all of the kids work there even if they do other things. Maeve has developed her reputation as the real estate broker of the island just across Puget Sound from Seattle. She does the showings of properties and then also works the bar. She has been saving up to purchase her dream house off the water but still is short for the down payment.

Hunter Myers is a world-renowned MMA fighter who recently retired. He has a teenage daughter who is going through that stage...the one where everything she does is either against his rules or flat out defiant. He has been raising her on his own with the help of his parents since she was a baby. She is a good kid but has been hanging with others who have been a horrible influence. After her last action, Hunter has decided to move to the island off Puget Sound. He is going to see what is out there and if this would be a better place for his daughter.

Maeve is working the bar when Hunter comes in for something to eat. These two hit it off from the start. Maeve is easy on the eyes and so is Hunter. Maeve's brother is bartending and is a huge fan of Hunter but never mentions to Maeve who he is.

Maeve flirts with Hunter like she usually does with all the regulars, innocent, and fun but nothing too risque. Neither of them knows who started it first but as the night goes on, there seems to be more interest than just flirting. Maeve decides to give Hunter her number and that is that.

The next day, Maeve is in her real estate mode, professional attire, focus on the homes she is showing, and hoping to close the deal so the commission will get her closer to buying her dream home. She is at the first home and is setting up the house to be seen when Hunter arrives. Both are surprised and now Maeve is feeling a bit off because if she had had any idea Hunter was her client for these homes, she would never have been flirting as she did.

For Hunter, he is thrilled to see Maeve. He had been thinking of her and was going to call after his business with these homes. Now he can see her in person. Maeve addresses the situation and Hunter is straightforward in telling her there is no reason to feel uncomfortable. The flirting was mutual and he is ready to continue it and see more of her.

Everything is going well until Hunter mentions there is another house he wishes to see...Her house, the one she has been hoping to buy! Maeve doesn't say anything and makes arrangements for the next day. As she shows more and more homes to Hunter, the chemistry between them grows.

This is the premise; moving to the island, pursuing Maeve, having his daughter be in a better environment, and Hunter adjusting to his retirement. There also is the interaction of the O'Callaghans with the daughter, how positive it is, the budding relationship between Maeve, Hunter, and his daughter, and some other situations.

Overall it was engaging, fun, heartwarming, and everything I wanted.

Great addition to the series!

Maeve is the eldest of the O'Callaghan children she has a great career as a real estate agent and loves helping out her brother at the family's pub. She has a full life and is happy with the way things are. Then Hunter walks into the pub and you can feel the sparks from across the room.

Hunter is a single father of a teenage daughter, Rachel, that has been acting out and he needs to make changes to get her away from the crowd she's been hanging with so he travels to the island to look at some houses. Little did he know house hunting wouldn't only change his daughters life, but his own as well.

The O'Callaghans are a big loving Irish family so it's no surprise that they opened their hearts to both Hunter and Rachel rather quickly. I love the way Maeve was with Rachel, it's really nice to see the beautiful connection was not only between Maeve and Hunter but also with his daughter.

I have been enjoying this series immensely and I cannot wait to get my hands on TAKE A CHANCE WITH ME, which is Maggie and Cameron's story...there has been a lot of hinting about these two in this series so I am really looking forward to seeing how things turn out for them.

If you enjoy large family Romances, small town Romances, or are just looking for a good Steamy Contemporary Romance I would recommend this book to you.

Maeve is one of two daughters and very close to her brothers and sisters as they all live on the Island. We get in this book appearances from beloved characters from the earlier books like Jules and Natalie! That was a fun scene. Maeve loves the Island. It reminds her of Ireland, her home country. The O’Callaghan’s own a bar on the Island. Maeve works at the bar part time and sells real estate as her full-time career which she is passionate about. It was fun being with Maeve as she was selling a home.

Kristin Proby always manages to weave these interconnected stories seamlessly together. She has a straightforward and realistic writing approach.

One night, a stunning man walks into her bar. Hunter Meyers is a single dad to a 15-year-old teenage daughter and is looking to relocate to a more ideal location for his daughter than the Seattle city life offers. In searching for his dream home, Hunter and Maeve run into each other at the bar and on the island. They are an adorable couple who had chemistry you can feel.

This book was an enjoyable read! I felt as though I could sit back and just watch this huge group of friend’s lives unfold in an entertaining way. There are parts of the book that hold drama that I won’t spoil for you but I will say that it was a shock to read and kept me on the edge of my seat.

If you love Kristen Proby, small town, single dad and romance novels with interconnected characters and men who treat women well, I highly recommend this read.

Take A Chance With Me - TBR/January 2022

I’ve been mostly pleased with & enjoying this new limb(the O’Callaghans) of the ‘With Me’ tree. Prior to this point that is, unfortunately. At its most basic level, FWM is not completely void of appeal. It’s a thumbs up for me continuing as part of a family series of standalones & more time with the O’Callaghan clan specifically is always a plus 🥰. I’m a sucker for sports romances, so I also liked Hunter’s background being an ex-MMA fighter (especially with his little added connection to Nate, Fight With Me). A devoted single dad trope is ok too. So yeah, with these little nuggets setting up how to get him to the island, FWM starts out ok with Hunter & Maeve’s first meeting to when they see each other unexpectedly the next day. It does, I will give it that. No qualms whatsoever.

However, thereafter, unfortunately where FWM falters greatly is in the execution. Boy! does it leave a lot to be desired from there. Idk if some variation of the phrase “slow your roll” has ever crossed my mind so many times in reading one book 🤦🏻‍♀️(<< there was a lot of this gesture too). If so, it’s been a while. Nearly everything came across so rushed & slapped together. Previously throughout her brothers' books, Maeve has been mostly a non-factor as a side character compared to the rest of her siblings imho. I truly didn’t know what to expect from her. I bring this up because so much of FWM felt so insta-this, insta-that made me kinda wonder if KP thought so too about Maeve & just wanted to get this book out & over with. But whatever it was, all the rushing caused more than a few moments to come across as so cheesy & OTT. I mean I didn’t dislike Maeve or anything, but all this insta-everything romance didn’t do her any favors to give her a shot at becoming a memorable character in the series.

Although at times imho Hunter’s daughter was not written as a very believable fifteen year old, the relationship with Rachel & Tom, Maeve’s father, bonding in a found family-ish way as a granddaughter & grandpa was so sweet(in a good way…promise 😂) & probably my favorite part the whole book. So for them, I gave my rating a little bump * .

Oh! One side note to something in the backdrop. I get IRL it takes time to decide a baby’s name sometimes even after they’re born, but — b-BUT this is fiction, how could you have a baby born on-page & end the book without giving Keegan & Izzy’s baby a name? 🙈😂 I kept waiting & waiting ⏳ — the one thing I had to wait for 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣.

I could probably keep on rambling about another thing or two for a while, like the one moment Hunter pissed me off, but honestly, so much of what was problematic boils down to how hastily the plot is blown through. If KP had edited out two small scenes(they made no impact on the plot & felt out of place) & then let the rest of the plot unfold more naturally & gave the reader time to get attached & invested in the H, h & their romance, this could’ve been pretty pleasant light read.

🤞🤞🤞🤞 Maggie & Cameron’s book falls more in line with the brothers’ book ‘cause I’ve been looking forward to it since Dream With Me 🤞🤞🤞🤞.

I use to read Kristen Proby books and not sure why I drifted away. I have recently come back and I just love the easy and carefree writing that she does. Her romances are charming and make you feel so good once you finish. You can’t help but keep a smile on your face while reading.

Maeve O’Callaghan is the quintessential girl next door. She’s nice, beautiful, loves her family and has flirty side to her that came out when she set eyes on former MMA Fighter Hunter Meyers. Hunter usually doesn’t meet someone and fall so fast but there is something about Maeve. Together they have a cute banter and the push and pull of their relationship is filled with flirty and sassy moments. Even though Hunter has a teenage daughter that is a handful, Maeve has a way with her that is heartfelt and genuine.

I loved that this story was sweet and not filled with a lot of excess drama. There was some drama of course but it just fit so well with the story that Flirt With Me was just a joy to read. I fell in love with the entire O’Callaghan family, hook, line and sinker. I will need to read their stories asap. I will say that there was such a comfort feeling while reading this adorable, captivating, and swoony romance that I would recommend to all contemporary romance readers.

Kristen has once again transported me back to Seattle to one of my favorite families. This is Maeve and Hunter's story.
Mauve O'Callghan is a real estate agent that also spends her evening as a pub waitress in the family business. She has grown up in an Irish family filled with brothers and has worked hard to get to where she is. She is independent, sassy, opinionated and when she loves something or someone passionate and fiercely loyal.
Hunter Meyers has recently retired from MMA fighting to spend more time with his rebellious teenage daughter Rachel. He has been out of the dating world for years spending all his time working, being a single dad and saving for their future. His mom and dad have always helped this single dad but now his family needs him more than the fighting world. A chance encounter with a lively flirty waitress leaves him wanting more than he has in years and imagine his surprise when he meets that same spunky beautiful woman as his real estate agent the next day.
This is a quick, fun, sexy story filled with all of the characters that I fell in love with in previous stories. Get ready to swoon over the hulky Hunter and all his protective ways. This couple had wonderfully fun flirty banter and fabulous chemistry!

Another adorable, swoony romance from the dreamy romance queen. This story was so cute, a fresh breath of air in a series that always delivers the feels.

A real estate agent who moonlights as a pub waitress, Maeve crosses paths one night with single father Hunter- and meets him again when he needs her to help him find a home. Both are enamored- but Maeve hasn’t been looking for love, and Hunter has to consider his daughter’s needs and his own relational baggage. But this is a connection and chemistry they can’t ignore - and a sweet and heartwarming romance unfolds.

The flirting is so on point- so much cute banter and the right dash of romantic tension. The chemistry is dynamic and engaging and both characters are likable and relatable. Their connection is intimate and sexy, and I loved watching Maeve connect with Rachel, too.

So delighted to get more of this series, and it was nice to see old characters too. YEt another wonderful addition to a series that delivers book after book!

Once again Kristen has given us a story that is so damn swoon-worthy that you can't help but fall head over heels in love with Hunter, Maeve and Rachel! This book was filled with one sexy, retired MMA fighter who also happens to be a single dad....swoon and a gorgeous, sassy realtor by day and waitress by night that I just couldn't get enough of and neither will you! Their first encounter is nothing short of explosive chemistry and it only intensifies each time they're together. I loved watching their relationship grow and the beautiful bond that formed between Maeve and Rachel. Once again we get the crazy shenanigans of the O'Callaghan family and of course it wouldn't be a With Me In Seattle book without scenes with some of our favorite ladies and a girls night!!! Come fall in love with this beautiful love story, you won't want it to end!!!

I'm so excited to be back in the Seattle universe and with one of my favorite families! Catching up with the O'Callaghans has become addictive and I love that we get to see some of our favorites, but Maeve and Hunter's story will have you hooked from the first page to the last

I love how strong and independent Maeve is, but she isn't afraid to be vulnerable with Hunter. And don't even get started on how Alpha-y Hunter is -- he's hella sexy, super overprotective, so unbelievably tender, and says the sweetest things.

“You’re good with words,” I whisper against his mouth. “Only because I mean them.”

I mean, he's basically the total package and definitely gives off all.the.swoons. ❤

I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland. In Flirt with Me, Maeve O’Callaghan lives in America but she is drawn to the seaside cliffs of an island in the Puget Sound that reminds her of Ireland. As oldest daughter of a large Irish family, Maeve is a real estate agent by day and works in her family’s pub at night. She meets many interesting people in both jobs, but she’s never been drawn to someone so strongly as she is to Hunter Meyers.

Hunter is looking for a home away from the hustle and bustle of Seattle to settle in with his teenage daughter. He thinks that the tiny island only a ferry ride away may be the answer to his dilemma. He happens upon Maeve one night in the pub and realizes the following day that she is his real estate agent. The couple’s attraction to each other is too strong to deny and they must find a way be together thorough the turmoil of their lives.

I flew through this book in one night. Kristen Proby is a master storyteller. Her characters are so relatable and real. I loved hearing about the other members of the family, but most importantly, I fell into Hunter and Mauve’s story completely. I adore happily ever after stories and this book won’t disappoint. I highly encourage you to read the other books of The O’Callaghans and With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby before reading this book.

Once again, Kristen Proby writes a story that you can enjoy and lose yourself in. One of my favorite things about this author is that in most of her books, the main couple is committed from the beginning and there's no breakup.

Maeve and Hunter meet while she's working in her family's pub and the attraction is instant, they flirt, and it's clear both are interested in more happening between them.

I loved the way her transition from waitress in a pub to realtor was handled and their entire interaction around that discovery...it made them feel real and nuanced.

There were a few things that caused drama in their relationship, but I enjoyed that they were external issues and we got to see both of them realize the way to handle them was to talk about it.

This book was a pleasure to read, an escape, and I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Maeve does something out of the norm for her when she meets a gorgeous new guy at her family pub - she flirts with him. And he reciprocates. Still, nothing will come of it. Until it does. Until the next day when she meets her new client at the home she's about to show him, and he's the gorgeous guy from the pub. She can't very well mix business and pleasure now, can she?



Hunter will do everything he can to convince Maeve that yes, she can definitely mix business and pleasure. His immediate attraction to the sweetheart at the bar on the island where he's decided to move with his teenage daughter, has him even more happy he made the decision to move. Now if he can just get his new realtor on the same page, he'd be even happier, especially when he sees how his moody, defiant daughter has immediately taken to Maeve too.

Maeve and Hunter are adorable together. Though he's an alpha fighter (retired), he's gentle with Maeve, wooing her sweetly, and bringing his daughter along for the ride. And then there's the way Hunter and Rachel blended seamlessly, lovingly, with Maeve's large, welcoming Irish family - that was my favorite part of this sweet, sexy story. I always love the With Me world, and Hunter, Maeve, and Rachel just made me love it even more.

Meh, meh, meh.

Maeve O'Callaghan is a real-estate agent on a small, but exclusive island, just across Puget Sound from Seattle by day. By night she tends bar at her family's Irish bar. Clearly this is a spin-off of a spin-off given that this is seventeenth in the With Me in Seattle series, and I'm afraid it shows. A cast of multiple couples, most of them rich, famous, or both, yet all working in the family bar, come on?

Hunter Meyers has recently retired from MMA. He's a single father with a wayward teenage daughter, desperate to get her out of Seattle and away from the bad influences. He's engaged Maeve to find him a house with a view.

This book just screams category small-town romance to me. Pretty short, some dramatic tension which is (frankly) over before it has even begun, a flaky baby-mamma who tries to cause trouble, and some brief smexy times (so brief that I worried about Hunter's stamina LOL).

I'm sorry to say I've read loads of this type of book before with a stereotypical large Irish family, each sibling (and usually then cousins or newly discovered half-siblings) getting their own book. After a while they all get a bit same-same and this is no exception.

This book was such a fun book and I need to revisit a lot of the characters in the With Me in Seattle series. I absolutely loved Maeve- she was sweet and fun and the way she interacted with Hunter's daughter made me love her more. Hunter himself was such a great character. He was flirtatious and sweet and the whole love at almost first sight aspect of this story worked out really well because these characters were truly heartfelt and authentic. Add in both Maeve's extended family and Hunter's family and it was a well rounded, often amusing but mostly swoony story filled with love of all kinds- romantic and familial.

Hunter is a famous MMA fighter who falls for Maeve, who is a realtor and a waitress at the family home. What took center stage in this book, in my opinion, was love. Although the MMA aspect cropped up a bit and Maeve's realty business was one of the precipitating factors to their getting together, the book really focused on relationships- theirs, the relationship with Hunter's daughter, the relationships with their parents, siblings, cousins and friends. I think that's one of the things I loved so much about this book- this story really showcases what an exceptional world Kristen Proby has developed, full of interesting and admirable people that make you root for their happiness. I received an early copy of this book.

Wow… Just wow… I was so excited to hear Maeve was getting her book and the story just captured me from the very first page all the way to the end. I love Maeve’s spirit and her independence.
Hunter was a total surprise, he made my heart swoon from the minute he graced the page. He is a retired MMA fighter and a single dad raising his teenage daughter. He comes to the island to find a new home for them and in true Kristen Proby fashion, he finds the woman of his dreams.
I was unable to put this book down, I read it in one sitting and loved the journey the story took me on.
I wish I could give it more than five stars!

Definitely a great story line and amazing characters. Maeve was smart, independent and knew what she wanted in her life. She and Hunter were so good together. When they started out I thought that Rachel would be a problem. But all three of them made a perfect family❤This story is filled with love, steam, some suspense and definitely drama added in☺❤ Definitely recommend this one❤

I would love to read Maggie and Cameron's story☺ Looks like it's going to be a bumpy one❤

I was so excited to be back in Kristen Proby’s With Me In Seattle world and couldn’t wait to read Flirt With Me. This is Maeve O’Callaghan and Hunter Meyers’s story and what a fabulous addition it was to one of my favourite series. I was hooked, from the first world to the last, with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in.

Living on an island off the coast of Seattle, Maeve spends her days working as a real estate agent and her nights serving food and drinks in her family’s pub and has no time for romance. That is until single dad Hunter walks into the pub and then again into her office looking for a home.

Hunter is attracted to the smart and beautiful Maeve but with the issues he has with his daughter and the baggage of his past, he knows the last thing he should be doing is starting a relationship.

Despite themselves, the attraction between them is too intense to ignore. The chemistry between them sizzles and was hot and steamy. I fell hard and fast for both Maeve and Hunter, both separately and together. I also loved that Maeve opened her heart to his daughter, Rachel; totally heart warming.

The banter was witty and the push and pull of their relationship made for an entertaining read. It was also great to catch up with previous characters and I cannot wait for the next release in this series.

One click this little gem, you won’t be disappointed.

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Maeve loves her family. She enjoys working at the family pub and knows that when the time comes, she'll find her forever too. As her main gig, she sells real-estate on the island too. When a handsome stranger comes in to the pub, she can't help but flirt. She even goes so far as to give him her number, which she never does.

Hunter is hoping that making a change will help his daughter make better decisions. She is going though a tough time right now, but her choices are bringing her closer and closer to the wrong path and Hunter is doing his best to curtail that path. When he heads to the island, he isn't expecting to find the best Irish food he's ever tasted or to see the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.

When Maeve realizes the stranger from the night before is actually her client, she's slightly disappointed. But, she knows that duty calls. As she shows Hunter her island, she knows that her attraction isn't one sided. Now the question becomes, does she move on that?

Hunter wants to see Maeve as much as possible. But, with his daughter and parents around, he also wants to respect them too. When his daughter's absentee mother presents herself, he knows that she only brings trouble. It will take a village to protect his daughter and Maeve is the biggest momma bear out there.

Proby does an amazing job at showing what gorgeous hearts both Maeve and Hunter have. You can see Hunter's devotion to his daughter and you can see Maeve's ability to share in their joy too.

I'm a sucker for Proby, and this series is no different. I've devoured this book in just a few hours! I can't wait to see what happens next!

‘What's the harm in a few mild flirtations? It spices up the day.’

Now, this may be book seventeen of the wider With Me In Seattle series but for me, this series will never ever get boring.

I love the characters.
The setting.
Just everything about it.

And yeah, we may now be following the O'Callaghans, but it doesn't change my love for this series.

Kristen Proby always writes a story that I love.
She is a one click for me.
I know that I will love every single thing she produces, and this book was no different.

Hunter and Maeve were perfection. The story was cute and had the right amount of steam, too. I'm in love with Hunter, simple as.
Honestly, this is in my top five for the series.

As soon as I realized Hunter is a fighter, my excitement increased. Do we get some Julies and Nate sightings? The author did not disappoint.

Hunter has retired and wants to do what is best for his daughter. She is rebelling, needs direction. His immediate plan is to move and change her circle of friends. Taking advice from Nate, he looks at an island not far from Seattle. In O’Callaghan’s bar, he crosses paths with Maeve. In a fast paced read, with lots of fun flirting, plenty of eye rolling, teenage angst, and a love story. Hunter and Maeve make it their own.

Some authors can pull you in like a conversation, no matter how much time has passed; this is one of those authors. I cannot wait for the next book she gives us.

Now that’s what I call a romance. Flirt With Me is classic Kristen Proby and I loved every second of it!! I’ve missed the O’Callaghan family something fierce and I’m thrilled that we were able to catch up with all the siblings. Maeve has always been the understated, almost (😳) boring of the O’Callaghan crew, at least in my head. But I’m thrilled to have been so wrong. Then you’ve got Hunter….swoon! This big, bad daddy was all that and more. In true Kristen Proby fashion, I was drawn into this story from the get go and devoured this book…I literally finished in 4 hours!!! Oh and I’m seriously on pins and needles waiting for Maggie & Cameron’s book!!!

Maeve O'Callaghan is a realtor and also helps out at the family pub. While working at the pub she meets Hunter, a retired MMA fighter with a teenage daughter. It turns out Maeve is the realtor that Hunter contacted when he was planning his move to the small island that Maeve's family lives on.
I love this series and will be sorry to see it end. Hunter is incredibly sweet and I love the glimpses of the other O'Callaghan family members.

Flirt with Me is about Maeve, real-estate agent by day, working in the family pub by night.
Meeting this sexy stranger in the pub one evening, flirting and having fun, turns out he’s the new client who wants to buy a house on the island.
Hunter is a very famous, recently retired, fighter, and needs to move location, to get his teenaged daughter out of the city.
Sparks fly INSTANTLY between these two, but can they pull it off? Especially when Hunters past comes catching up!

As always, the family dynamics is simply AMAZING. I’m absolutely in love with every single story in this series. Kristen Proby is an amazing author, who has me hooked from the first to the last page. I devoured this book.
This book is so much fun, flirt, hot and love. Definitely a must read!

Hunter. The tough exterior with a really gooey center MMA fighter. Maeve. Sweet and feisty real estate phenom by day and singing waitress by night. Bring that all together for a super hot love story. I loved their story! I had no expectations about Maeve. She has always been the supportive, loving sister. And that personality trait came in really handy with Hunter's daughter. But wow! Her and Hunter made the sparks fly! Hunter was absolutely not going to let her get away. I am definitely reading this one again. I flew through it in one day. It was just so good. Well done Kristen. I love the O'Callaghan family.
