4.5/5🌟

The title of this volume says it all. I've always been waiting for the resolution to the issue between Ye Xiu and Excellent Era, and this volume did not disappoint. Excellent Era, the pioneer club and one of the powerhouses in Glory, really just lost to Team Happy, the “grassroots team” built by their former captain.

It's not that Team Happy is stronger than their opponent. They aren't, and they are still far from it. If we're just looking at it on paper, from players to characters to equipment, Excellent Era is the superior team, no doubt about it. That's why I don't blame the people who didn't even consider the possibility of them beating Excellent Era. In their eyes, Ye Xiu is the only person on the team who could put up a fight, maybe even Wei Chen and the timely support of Sun Zheping, but these two are quite unstable, with one already past his prime and the other still recovering from an injury. The rest are just noobs. Maybe half of them have potential and talent, but they are still noobs who lack awareness and experience. Ye Xiu wouldn't be able to carry Happy alone, especially against a powerful team like Excellent Era.

That underdog setup is what made this volume especially satisfying. Because it's true that if you've already decided that the stronger team is going to win the match, there's no point in having a competition in the first place. There's a lot that can happen in a single match, especially when you're up against a player like Ye Xiu. He set up tactics that, on the surface, seemed like they were just rabbits helplessly fighting against a pack of wolves, but there were a lot of intricate and interconnected complexities underneath, specifically designed to target Excellent Era's players. He's been preparing for this for a year, and that's their biggest advantage. Being underestimated also played a big role. Excellent Era focusing only on Ye Xiu while deliberately ignoring the other members of Happy was one of their biggest mistakes.

This is such an extremely fun and satisfying volume.
