This one was pretty fast pace and I believe the 3rd couple in this series (I think) some steam and okay story.

Peyton has been crushing on her boss and they both finally give in and they have a heated moment then Chance our Hero pulls back and causing Peyton to put up her walls for 6 months she been keeping them high. Now she ask for vacation time and Chance knows that means "looking for another job" so he gets help and plans a work vacation for them two to work out their relationship.

I do wish Peyton didn't give in so easy she should have let Chance grovel some more like WAYYYYY more.. atleast they were both faithful :)

No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, sexy times, no virgins no manwhore

Peyton has worked at Chance’s construction company for a while and has been attracted to him just as long. When they enjoy a steamy encounter she believes it is a beginning but she soon realizes that he has no intention of taking it any further.

Months later the distance between them has grown even wider and Chance is determined to make things right. He convinces Peyton to go on a business trip with him for a construction project his brother wants him to undertake and with a little sun and sand he is determined to show Peyton they make the perfect partners both in work and in life.

Hot chemistry and all the feels as Peyton and Chance finally get the future they both deserve.

“You own every piece of me, my heart, my soul. Don’t forget that.”

Great ending to a fantastic series.
I enjoyed the story of Peyton and Chance. I am always looking for a good grovel if the H messes up. In this story he did mess up a little in the beginning and there is some groveling but she gave in pretty quickly even though she still had her reservations and it took him 6 months to get his head right. At any rate, the story was very good, no abuse, no mention of eithers past, no OM/OW drama, possessive H, epilogues at 6 months and 6 years. Can't wait for more from Ms. Baker.

Another great steamy short by Tory Baker, I gobble up these babies usually in one sitting. Love reading a story that you KNOW you are gonna get the HEA without having to scrape your heart off the ground in the process.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, I knew it. It was just the right amount of naughty and nice. A second chance at romance. Peyton and Chance's story is all romance all the time.
Chance is in love with his secretary and she him.. But a little naughty time in the office one day has Chance back peddling and causing Peyton to retreat into herself. When it looks like she is going to leave him he tales action. He plans a work vacation at tje beach to win her back.

There is a time in the story where it looks like the author is going to add some political drama with a little deceit in there with the county pulling those permits, like they were trying to either milk them on fees or trying to stop the progress because they wanted the land rights or something. So even though that didn’t happen I was able to let my imagination go there, which unintentionally added to the story. This book has naughty time, a lot of communication, alpa egos in overdrive, a little insecurities and a lot of heart.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

Peyton goes to work for Chance when he can’t even get the temp agency to send any secretary to work for him. Chance asks Bridger if his sister Peyton will come work for him. Six months ago he pleasured her and she can’t stop thinking about it. Chance wants Peyton but doesn’t want to ruin their work relationship. Chance’s brother, Fox calls and wants him to work on the beach home he just bought, problem is he lives in South Carolina. Chance owns a construction company Adam’s Construction. So Chance comes up with a plan to win Peyton over by taking her with him to look at his brothers home. Chance is going to make it a work related trip for tax purposes. When they arrive in South Carolina Chance reserved a two bedroom suite for them. Peyton’s not sure she’ll be able to live a week with him. She tries to get him to apologize for what happened six months ago, but he wants to explain why it happened. They get ready to go to the beach and he asks her to put something on over her suit. He doesn’t want everyone looking at her. They pick out a longe chair and sit down to relax. When they get back to the room Payton tells Chance she’s taking a shower, he tells her they’ll take one together. He tells her he’s not asking for sex he just want to pleasure her. While in the shower she goes to her knees to pleasure him. The next day they head to Fox’s beach home. They walk around while Payton takes notes. They run into problems because Chance can only work on weekends and he wants Payton coming with him. On the last night Payton tells Chance not to keep her waiting. So he does what she ask and gives all of himself to her. They head back to Virginia and fall into a routine. Payton moves in with Chance and they go to work together. Chance heads to South Carolina without Payton. He has a horrible time with permits being pulled and inspections need to be made. Payton misses Chance so she tries to call him but he doesn’t answer. Payton calls Fox because she starts to worry. Chance heads back to Virginia with nothing else he can do in South Carolina. The next day Chance brings up them buying a home in South Carolina and spending half their time there. When the weekend arrives they head to her parents home for Sunday dinner. Chance has something he needs to ask her dad. Payton heads to be with Rowan and Chance goes to see Bridger and her dad. Braxton knows what’s on Chance’s mind so he leaves to grab some glasses. Chance ask permission to marry Payton. Her father tells him he is already any part of the family. Six months later, Payton tells Chance they’re going to be parents they were married three months ago. Six years later Paige they’re almost five year old daughter is up with her dad for a smoothie. Bentley is still in bed but when Payton walks by her room she notices her stirring. Payton is pregnant one last time with a son they will name Sawyer.

Poorly written

The writing in this one was so awkward and weird, I couldn’t get into it at all. It was almost robotic. The conversations read more like emails that were being sent back and forth. Example:

Peyton: Some day you’ll meet the right girl and settle down. Have you heard from Chance today? I tried calling earlier and it rang. Now when I try it goes right to voicemail. I’m worried.

Fox: That’s never going to happen. I’m fine being single. That’s strange. I haven’t heard from him. I’m sure he’s fine.

See? That’s not how direct conversation works. She would make the comment about his meeting someone, then he would respond to that. Then she would bring up concerns, etc. so that it’s back and forth instead of one person says everything they want to say then the other one does the same. That’s how text and email conversations go.

Also the “conflict” at the end was ridiculous and not well planned out since that’s the first time we’re told that Peyton has baggage from some mysterious thing that happened in her past. Even then we’re not told what it is. Just that it happened and it scarred her and that’s why she’s acting that way. Okay???

I have so many other issues about this book: strange sentence structures, location mix ups, phrases I’ve never heard before (wtf does “costing a whack” mean??). It would take too long to go over them all and this review is already too long.

The first 3 in the series had the sentence structure weirdness but were still decent stories that I enjoyed. This one not so much.

This is a relatively short and steamy romance that goes straight to the point of doesn't bother too much with details. It's great for a quick read when you're waiting (although the scenes do get really hot real fast) or when you need a pick me up, but honestly for me, something was missing. I liked it and I enjoyed it but it got a little boring towards the middle since the plot was somewhat weak and the characters didn't act as they said they would nor did they were consistent with what they did and what they thought. I guess it might have been different if I had read the previous books, though I could read it as a standalone, but the story was not as good as I was expecting (It also might have something to do with the fact that I re-read my favorite book of all times right before this one, so I might be a little biased and with too high expectations).

Peyton has been working for Chance for some time now and she's the only one that's been able to tolerate his mood swings and cater to all of his wishes without quiting in the spot. But he's gone a step too far. After they got intimate and he dismissed it as a mistake, she decided she wouldn't get invested and he immediately regretted it. Now he's convinced her to go on a dream vacation with him and he's willing to do anything to win her over. But how far is he willing to go to win her heart again? Will she cave and take a risk? Can she do so without getting her heart broken again?

I adore Tory Baker's books! She keeps the focus entirely on the couple and the obstacles they face. Peyton and Chance, once they get together are a very cute couple. Before they get together, they have an encounter and it ends up with Chance saying that he made a mistake. Peyton is hurt and I think, a little embarrassed. But she shows her inner strength by continuing to work for him. I wouldn't have been able to do that. I would have walked out and not come back. So then it is six months later and he hasn't done anything to change the situation. She is about to take time off and he is worried she is looking for another job. So he has her come with him to visit his brother for a week in order to make remodeling plans.. It is his plan to use this time alone, to apologize and move forward with their relationship. I was really hoping that this situation would be a great opportunity for a good grovel. There is a shortage of those in romance and I was all set to get one here, but that didn't happen. I have to say it was in keeping with Peyton's personality and the situation. All in all, it was cute and sweet story, genuinely chock full of love and the adoration between them. Sorry to see the series end but I know Ms Baker will have more stories to tell.

We have gotten little snippets of teasers of Peyton and Chance in the previous Getting Dirty Series books, and it lead us to the moment of truth. What really happened, and Tory Baker gives us all the dirty details right off the bat in the prologue when Chance mucks up and mucks up good. I absolutely love Peyton and the fact that she used his rejection as a tool, not in revenge, but to guard her heart. He devastated her, and when we get to chapter 1 which is set 6 months later, she hasn't allowed him to bring her down. She still has feelings for him, but refuses to let him back in. Until Chance knows he has to make a move, or nothing will even happen, and the perfect opportunity comes up. What follows is typical Baker, sweet and dirty, fun and loving, with some conflict but not so much that you wonder how they can come back. Chance and Peyton are adorable together, and I love that Tory Baker always gives us an epilogue in the distant future so you can see just how perfect her couples really are. And as always we are introduced to a character from the next book, can't wait to see what is in store for Fox!

4 1/2 Stars!
The grumpy antagonistic volatile boss Chance treated Peyton like any other of his employees and workers. Impatient, exacting, and full of unreasonable expectations, Chance was a handful of a boss. Peyton was made of sterner stuff and took his verbal abuse like a champ. She stood up for herself and gave back sass and snark while doing a great job. When the employer/employee line was briefly and intensely crossed, the whole game changed.
I liked the way the author had Peyton trying to redraw the boundaries for an extended period of time without going into boring details. The scene immediately fast forwarded six months and showed them at an impasse of sorts, long enough to have Chance wake up and realize his mistake of ignoring their initial connection. Chance focused on changing the status quo using everything at his disposal to pursue a real relationship with her.
Multiple super steamy scenes that were graphic and Full of Heat. No boring bits to skip in this very romantic read! Enjoyed this from start to finish.

I kind of loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable even after Chance messed up as badly as he did. The characters were interesting and likable. Peyton works for Chance. They both have feelings for each other but have spent a long time denying them especially after the incident. I loved how Chance decided to make a move as well as how he made it. Trying to show someone how you feel about them after you have hurt them is hard and Chance is all over it. Peyton was sweet but sassy and even though she was hurt, she takes a chance (haha!) and risks her heart to be with Chance. Their working vacation helps them to clear quite a few things up and leads to them being in a relationship. There is a tiny bit of drama/angst, but it just helps them grow as a couple. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

This is the first book that I have read in this series and I don't know if that's meant that I have missed out on anything or not, I did feel like I needed some information before the prologue as it felt at first that I had started in the middle of a story, but I soon got into it. I thought this was an interesting read which had lots of connection, passion, chemistry, fulfilling fantasies, good characters and claiming what you heart wants. Chance was very alpha and possessive but also loving and caring at the same time, he knew when to push and when to give Peyton some space; his love for her shone through. I liked seeing Peyton grow, to stand up for herself and her wants and to open her heart and take a chance, I liked them both individually and as a couple.

Awww I can’t believe it’s the end of the series, Not gonna lie I hated Chance at the beginning and then slowly I fell in love with him 😂 So many feels and Chance is a totally goner for Peyton 😍⁣⁣
Peyton was so sassy but had a hint of vulnerability to her, I love that she kinda stood her ground with him but not for too long because ugh who wants it to drag on. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
While Jasper and Braxton stole my heart more there’s something about each dude in this collection 😏⁣⁣

You know what I love about Tory’s books they’re real and realistic. They have depth to them while giving you an insta love kinda feel.
Her foreplay and sex scenes are hotter because they’re real and not this over top kind of smut that’s out there (not that there’s anything wrong with it)
Rowen was sassy, confident and knew what she wanted. So what if she made the first move on Braxton, why’s it always gotta be the guys job? Brax’s hesitation was totally justifiable.
Aspen & Jasper showed you what it’s like to tackle real life, jobs, distance, kids and love, you’ve got to work at relationships more than anything.
Berkley & Ryder proved that sometimes being in the right place at the right time is a real thing 😜
Chance’s dismissal of her at first was understandable and how do you just suddenly try and win your girl after that? If anything she’d of been more pissed, I would but once he seen she was potentially leaving he wasn’t letting her get away. Did she give in a little to easy yes, but who wants to play games at that age?

Peyton has had feelings for her boss for awhile so when he finally maes a move on her she gets excited. That is until he says its a mistake and pulls away. Chance knows that he made a mistake but getting through the barriers that Peyton put up isn't easy. Then when she asks for a wekk off he knew he was in trouble. So he offered her a working vacation as a compromise that way he would have a chance to win her back. Will she give him a second chance at her heart? Can they be together?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The fourth novella in Tory Baker's Getting Dirty series, Hammered, is a high heat, low drama romance. Chance owns his own construction company, and is completely enamoured with his secretary, Peyton. After a false start - and six months of Peyton freezing him out - Chance uses a working vacation to his advantage to prove to Peyton that she is the woman he wants. Chance and Peyton have chemistry in spades, and together they have enough heat to melt your Kindle. This is a quick, entertaining and steamy read for a cold winter's day.

A story of Peyton and Chance. Chance is in construction and Peyton is his secretary. They have an awkward encounter that leaves Peyton angered and Chance was left upset with how he handled it. 6 months later and Chance and Peyton are on a vacation with a work stop together. Chance has every intention of showing Peyton that they are meant to be. The story is good. In my opinion it seems to move a bit fast, forgiveness is quick and the Instalove is quick too. Unsure about some of the characters actions and plot. But overall a fun little romantic steam read with a nice HEA and no cliffhangers!!! 3.5 stars is my rating compared to other books I’ve read by other authors.

It’s been six months since construction boss Chance Adams blew his opportunity with his secretary, Peyton Jennings, and she’s been making him pay ever since. Concerned that Peyton has job hunting on her to-do list, Chance decides it’s time to thaw the frosty shield she’s erected. He launches “Operation Win Peyton Jennings” with a working vacation that takes the two of them to a South Carolina beach town. In Hammered, Tory Baker adds yet another delightful romance to her Getting Dirty series of fun-to-read books.

I really want you to read it! It's a wonderful, sexy story! With an very possessive Man and a smarty pants female that gives as good as she gets 😁😁 love everything about this book! I've read all the books in the series and love keeping up with the characters in each story. This story was ok, not the best of the bunch. I did not understand the drama about their encounter at all. Why it was strung out for six months when all it would have taken was a few words from either of them to fix it. Then there was no chemistry build or story development at all. It was a good story, but not great. I received an ARC copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Overall a great read. After reading the blurb I honestly expected a little bit more from the story. This is sort of a second chance, with Chance and Peyton heating up a bit before he pulled the emergency break. She was frustrated after that move and wanted out. Chance tries to redeem himself by planning a work/holiday get away for the two of them. That is when things to pick up and these two start to heat up. Some minimal angst between them but overall a good read and add to the series.

Peyton is in love with her boss, but when they give into their passion he backs off and leaves! Chance can’t believe he messed up so bad with Peyton who he has been in love with for awhile. He didn’t mean to leave, but his brother got hurt and he was trying to help his family! When Chance has an opportunity for a vacation/work trip he knows now is his opportunity to make her his! Will Peyton forgive him? Can they find their happily ever after? Another great book in the series!!

The Getting Dirty series are so fun to read. The chemistry between Peyton and Chance is super hot and steamy. I love the fact that Chance knew he screwed up, and was willing to do what he can to win her over. Chance is an alpha who is super sweet and almost romantic under this gruff nature. This story was fun to read, and I loved that we get to see glimpses of the couples from the previous books.

Hammered is the first book in the 𝓰𝓮𝓽𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓭𝓲𝓻𝓽𝔂 𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓼 that I have read, but it certainly won’t be the last because Hammered was a great read! Peyton was so funny and badass, and I loved how she made Chance work for her live at the beginning of their story, but she didn’t drag it out and we quickly got to the steamy scenes! Chance was so cute, growly about anyone getting to close to his woman, and a true possessive alpha that will melt your heart. This was a fast and entertaining read that you will consume in one sitting if you aren’t careful!

Peyton works for Chance and is the only person that can deal with his mood swings. They have a hot night after which he said it was a mistake which hurt her heart. She pulls up her big girl panties and sets aside her feelings to continue working for him for six months without him saying a single word about what happened. As she's ready to take time off, he worries she is going to leave him and asks her to go on a trip to win her back. Is he too late? Can he convince her how he really feels?

Chance is a dream. He may start out with issues but once he realizes his mistake he shows his true nature. He is so kind and loving and protective and driven. I love their banter. There is so much emotion and steam in this story. Peyton is sweet and spicy. I love the epilogues. I can't wait for the book about Fox. Chance has two sides. He is gruff and jealous and just perfect for Peyton.
