Tying in with the events of INK's next cinematic album, INKED IN BLOOD follows a bullied teen super-fan who’s convinced that her favorite frontman could never have committed the grotesque crimes for which he's now standing trial. But when a well-intentioned show of support backfires, this super-fan finds herself locked in a life-or-death battle against a copycat killer whose depravity makes your favorite slasher films seem tame by comparison. Get your icepicks handy, INK fans--it's going to be a bloodbath!
A fun, quick, gory read that's fun for any INK fan!!! I loved seeing all of the little bits of artwork that showcased actual music videos and actual merch!
as a big Ice Nine Kills fan i was very excited to finally get my hands on this!
the concept is great, the gore is great and all the horror movie references were great. i totally think spencer charnas killed people. i'm still villain apologist tho. i need sequel that will uncover where the truth lies since spencer confessed to killing people in it is the end music video, right? i hope bill mosely will put this psycho behind bars
There's nothing I like more than a good slasher with a twist in the plot and the ability to come back again for a sequel. This book is great entertainment, loved singing along to the songs whilst reading. Hope there's a part two to cover Welcome To Horrorwood.
As a fan of horror movies and the band Ice nine kills this was a cool little nod to both of them. It ties in with their Silver scream album. At times certain tracks from the album were playing in my head like a soundtrack to the story.
You have to be an INK fan and/or horror movie fan to appreciate this graphic novel. I like the band and appreciate their stage theatrics but not so much this gory graphic novel.
A fun graphic novel that illustrates superfandom and psychotic killers. A favorite singer is charged with killing his wife and copy cat killers spring up all over. So much blood. So much fun.
this band is most definitely going to be my most-played artist on spotify this year. i regret nothing. if you're a fan of ice nine kills, then you'll love this!
I would like to start off by saying that I am a relatively new fan of Ice Nine Kills. I saw them on the Trinity of Terror tour, and I was impressed. I saw this book being sold at the merchandise table, and of course, anything book related, I had find out more about it, so I bought it a week later. To say the least, I read the book in a sitting. I couldn’t put the book down. Not only did the story move smoothly, it also brought The Silver Scream to life. The main character, Heather, is a huge fan of Spencer, the singer from Ice Nine Kills. She believes, deep down in her soul, that Spencer is innocent, so she ruins her reputation by putting a video out there that shows how much of a fan she really is. She not only jeopardizes her life, but she also jeopardizes her mother’s career. At the vigil that she wanted to happen, she ends up killing the janitor, who she thought was the true killer. She finds out later that it’s Wesley Hooper, the reporter, but she finds out the janitor was a creepy stalker who was obsessed with her. The killer who lured her there through her emotional support of Spencer, wants to only gain fame and fortune through Heather’s own demise, but she ended up defeating him at his own twisted game, much like Ice Nine Kill’s song “Hip to be Scared.” Many of their famous songs come to life through the graphic novel. Speaking of graphic, the gore did not disappoint. The last couple of chapters had some amazing, gory murders. The details and story writing are to be appreciated, even if you’re not an Ice Nine Kills fan. Lastly, I want to touch base on the ending. The last couple of pages shows Heather’s thought process of Hooper telling her that he did a lot of those murders, but he couldn’t take credit for the murder of Spencer’s fiancée. So after all of this, Heather is now wondering if Spencer is guilty for murder. He’s probably going to walk because the evidence is circumstantial and because of all the copycat murders. So is Spencer truly guilty? That’s up to you, as the reader, to decide. Overall, this book was truly amazing for what it was. Even if you’re not a fan of the band, the book is still great because of how well the story moves along. Also, for murder fans and gore, this book is just right for you. Just remember, it’s still “Hip to be Scared.” Ice Nine Kills literally kills it with the horror stuff. Not only is this book recommended, the band is too. Their work is horrifyingly terrifying.

I loved this book it was a real page turner I was on the edge of my seat while reading however the ending left you hanging because no one knows who really killed Spencer's fiancé. I hope there will be a sequel of Inked in Blood.
Since I am able to approach this as unbiased as possible, this ended up being exactly what I was looking for.
You know, I can't exactly called myself a huge INK fan... YET, but I am friends with a lot of people who are. So I was curious when I happened to stumble across this while out on vacation. I was unable to grab a copy then but it's been on my wish list since. So, I finally caved and snagged myself a copy. I was not anywhere NEAR disappointed.
Now I will do my best to keep this review as spoiler free as possible. The concept idea, A super teen fan who happens to get bullied. I won't say that initially drew me in. It's the band and what little I knew of them. I've only watched a few of their music videos. I pushed a really good buddy of mine to meet a couple of the band mates after buying some of the merch (also pleased with those purchases). They seemed really nice! I just had to give this a chance anyway.
I'd say this was more like a love letter to the fans of all ages. I also enjoyed the art with the story. It turned out to be a more than just a mystery to solve. Spencer's fiance murdered and Spencer the prime suspect? A super fan now wants to seek justice and help prove his innocence? Color me impressed. I will say the lead character Heather is likable. There is character development in her by the end.
But there are questions I would like to be answered. However, I think that is all part of the charm. I just really, really hope they expand on this somehow, because I would gladly continue reading. Even if it doesn't continue with Heather (I wonder if that's a Silent Hill 3 reference), it was well written and the art flowed wonderfully. I truly believe this will do well with more.
The Silver Scream: Inked In Blood Vol 1 is a graphic novel filled with terror, violence, and gore! Follow Ice Nine Kills super-fan on her quest to clear the band’s name before it’s too late.
I’m a huge Ice Nine Kills fan, so when I first heard about this, I bought a copy immediately. This was just as amazingly dark as I was hoping it would be!
Whether you’re a fan of the band or not, this is a truly awesome read. It’s brutal and brings readers through a nightmarish situation that will have you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what happens next!
This was such a perfect read for me. Ten out of ten for sure. An amazing lead character, terrifying storyline, gruesome gore, quick pacing, and nods here and there to the bands lyrics! This was such a blast that I devoured it in one sitting.
Love comics, metal music and horror movies? If you do and have not heard of Ice Nine Kills, go take a listen to them, this review will still be here when you hear a few songs. Welcome back, this graphic novel follows along with the storyline the band has done with their series of music videos for their albums, The Silver Screen and Welcome to Horrorwood. When a super fan is absolutely sure her favorite lead singer is not the killer he is being made out to be she ends up in her own horror story. The art is this by Andres Esparza and Giorgia Sposito is simply amazing and the little Ice Nine Kills easter eggs, posters in the background are things you will spend a lot of time looking at. My only complaint is that the book reads very quick.
More like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to be generous. Honestly, I did enjoy this. I'm a fairly new INK fan so maybe if I were a much bigger fan, this would have been that much more impacting. Despite that, I was able to enjoy the story and got through it very quickly. My only complaint, really, is how obviously TRAUMATIC Heather's experience is at the end there, and how it's kind of just...brushed aside at the end there. Like "I'm okay now!" even though I was almost murdered and killed people. But hey, it was good and I liked the art and storyline, even if I did think Heather was a little too obsessed with the band.

Okay omg this was such a quick read for me! Also is now my fave graphic novel! I read it in one sitting while INK played in the background. I love the art, and the storyline in this *graphic* novel! It was so creative, and it's easy to see how it ties into The Silver Scream II. I'm so excited for Inked in Blood 2 this year!! And I hear Silver Scream 3 may be on its way......
I really enjoyed it a lot I re-read it, I got it done both times in 20 minutes. Heather really shined this graphic novel, love the connection between her character and Nancy Thompson/ Heather Langenkamp from Nightmare on Elm street. I really liked how it was a part of the Silver scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwod during the trial. The kills were so gruesome, but like very inventive. I can't wait for the sequel! I really hope we get to see her live in the upcoming INK MV!!
It's Ice Nine Kills, what can I say. I'm biased as a fan but I do always enjoy graphic novels and I liked the art style for this one. Though it's definitely a bit strange to be reading a work of fiction surrounding a non-fictional, if theatrical, band (and framing a non-fictional person as a murderer). INK will definitely continue to take my money with new releases and I'm just going to let them.
Inked in Blood continues the story of the band raised in Welcome to Horrorwood. Spencer has supposedly killed his fiancée and a girl wants to prove his innocence, but soon finds herself in a very dangerous situation.
Inked in Blood is a pretty cool and gory comic that is nicely drawn and follows a really cool plot. It's nice that the band decided to do something like this and I hope that there will be more of them.
I love Ice Nine Kills and this was a fun homage to classic slasher movies. It was a lot of fun having this meta story of Spencer Charnas being accused of murdering his fiancée to pair with the "Welcome to Horrorwood" album.
It is riddled with extreme gore and psychos! My only complaint is wanting more out of it, so I am looking forward to the second installment.
Great classic horror with great and gory artwork. Not 100% unique and surprising, but well written and tense with enough twist and mayhem to keep you reading. One definitely need not be a fan of the band to enjoy this modern horror classic!
It's a pretty decent, fun, gore read, but also lowkey a little cringe. I was really excited for this one, but the amount of fangirl made me.. Well.. Cringe. But overall still not a bad story, and quite enjoyed it. The graphics are great!
I'm a fan of the band and....my dudes this was goofy as hell. It was definitely entertaining but as a comic fan and avid comic/manga reader I cant really say it was good. Definitely happy to have it as part of my collection though.
If you're a fan of the band Ice Nine Kills, you'll love this! Very cool thing that INK made. Spencer has a truly amazing mind and is talented in so many things. This is an awesome story relating to the first Silver Scream album, then leading into The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood.
