His waistline expanded, his flexibility abandoned him, his wardrobe was invaded by elasticated beige trousers and sandals – what on earth was going on?
In his hilarious and often alarmingly honest style, Bernard documents his journey, first fighting it tooth and nail – buying into every fad diet and hair-growth pill, even returning to Mass to find faith – before recruiting the help of a therapist, some experts in mindfulness, and, as always, the support of his longsuffering wife. Can Bernard navigate this time of his life to come out the other side with his dignity intact? He's about to find out …
I came across this book on a list of must-read comedy books. Being a similar age, I thought I would be able to relate to him..... I couldn't. I found a few parts humerous, but all in all, the book was a whole lot of nothingness for me atleast. Maybe I'm just grumpy, and others will enjoy it, though.
Was an OK book. Not as laugh out loud as his first book but there was a few chuckles. If you're a parent or struggling with age then you will relate to this in parts but this book will not leave you motivated to get that bucket list ticked off or lose that half a stone.
