JUNE: I knew he was trouble. But I could not help it. I wanted him the moment I saw him. The air practically sizzles whenever we are together and being with him feels so ethereal. But being with a soldier is last thing I want. Not with my history…

MARCUS: The moment I set eyes on her, I knew she was the one. One touch and I felt lit up. Never have I felt this way. A woman I can give my life gladly to protect. But June has been so independent for so long. She does not want anything long term. And for sure, she does not want to be with a soldier.

This is a steamy, curvy woman, hot soldier, second chance at love story.

A great start to a new family series from Alexis Ashlie. Who doesn't love a big muscled hot man in uniform that's part of a loving family who can deal with a primary children, and plays an instrument, and has a sense of humour, and loves his mum!

This story is about our two main characters and one child plus a whole family of support characters who it seems we will come to love as the series plays out. Their instant love at first sight connection is super cute and we watch it grow from the beginning.

As with all of Alexis Ashlie's books this one is well written with good pace and flow. No stalling or time wasting, the story works to set up the books to follow for the other brothers. It just works really well as a book.

I love this book; I knew I would and I'm totally recommending it to you for your Kindle library to get your through your daily commute xx

Marcus and June an unexpected love

I thought this story was great. Neither Marcus or June had any thoughts about dating on their minds. However, things do change the instant they see each other. Her husband was a cop in Boston and died on duty, and she couldn't put her son or her self through that again. Marcus knew that something was missing in his life and his father suggested that maybe he should find himself a girl. So when he found out that her son was on the baseball team that he coached, he asked her to go on a dinner date. She didn't answer at first but she decided yes the next time they saw each other. And so it began. I just wish this story was longer. I would have loved to see Marcus have a sibling with June. I give it five stars.

This is a very loving and passionate love story. June is a widower at an early age. She has a five-year-old son who she thinks is all she needs in her life. Her husband was killed in the line of duty before Theo was born. June can not stay in Boston any longer due to the things that have happened. She finds a small town in North Carolina and moves her son and her there. She is a Chef that works as a cook at a diner. Marcus is an Army Captain and is captivated with June the moment he sees her in the Diner kitchen. Marcus does not know her past and is willing to do anything for June. June is reluctant to have a relationship with Marcus and informs him it is just a short term thing. Marcus agrees since he wants June for whatever she is willing to give him. Marcus is called away to Japan for a crisis and June breaks up with him. Heart broken they both are when he leaves. Will June ever get over her hurt and move on with life and live? Let us find out in this story. Also this book is a set up I am assuming for the next book in the series.

Overcoming Fear For Love -
Marcus and June were weary of love, but whilst June was adamant she didn’t want a relationship, Marcus was prepared to take a chance on exploring a relationship with June. It would take patience and distance, to show June that she can open her heart to love. This is a short story with a cute young man and a supportive, loving family, that will leave you feeling elated, when you finish reading the book.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Trenton Family Heroes series is about five brothers. Book one is about Marcus Trenton, the oldest and June Webber, a chef and mom new to town. June has a five year old son, Theo.

Marcus had a close call at work and it made him realize how much he want someone important in his life. June's past relationship was painful and scared her to the point where she doesn't want to be with anyone seriously.

Marcus and June have instant chemistry, which fights against what their brains want. Together they are a perfect couple with his family supporting them. Through all their push and pull, I wanted them to go all in with their hearts. This story does end on happily ever after with the epilogue leading into the next brother Ethan. Marcus is a great start to this new series for Alexis Ashlie.

This was a decent story that I quite enjoyed. I did feel that the ending before the epilogue was rushed and not very climatic. But I do look forward to reading the rest in the series. The plot and background were great and showed how the characters became who they were at the point in the story. The characters had great chemistry and knew what they wanted but the female was held back due to the past.

I give this a four out of five stars, I was happy with the plot and characters but found the ending to be a little lacking.

Short cute read with lots of banter, chemistry, love and family interactions. Widowed mom June Webber moves to Charleston NC to give her son a better life, she accepts a position in a local diner as the cook/chef where she meets military man Captain Marcus Trenton and they have an instant connection. As they get to know each other better and develop feelings for each other, June has to decide whether she gave love with Marcus's career and risk her heart . I loved how sweet Marcus handled June's little 5 year old Theo. Highly recommended , looking forward to the other brothers.

I received the ARC for this book, I really liked it, it was a heart toucher. Once again Alexis Ashlie writes such a sweet, feeler, romantic story. Marcus comes from a Military family, June married a cop and he died in action before their son Theo was born. It was then that she said to herself, I will not marry a man in that type of job. Then comes Marcus, a military man, that sets her blood on fire and is so sweet to her and her son. She needs some convincing. Motherly love from Marcus's mom and a sweet town is just what she needs to start over.

HEA you got to read it!

Marcus and June are just a delight together both keep telling themselves they won't get in deep with each other and it is just short term thing but boy you can't help when your emotions decide to take over. I totally get June's hesitations but she so deserves some happiness after everything and Marcus is just the man for the job. Even though this is a quick read it was thoroughly enjoyable and I can not wait to read more in the series!!

MARCUS is the first story in Alexis Ashlie’s Trenton Family Heroes and I really liked the premise of the supportive and close-knit family and the balance between service to their country and their love of family and everything that has moulded them into the men hey are today. The storyline was easy to follow, and the characters were likeable and engaging. The drama wasn’t over-played and romance while quick was believable. I did have some issues with the editing and the multitude of missing words which was distracting, hence the 3 Star Review, but overall the story itself was good.

The first book proves to be a great start to a new series about 5 brothers. Marcus is the oldest and this is his love story. His and June’s chemistry is instantaneous. I love their, and her son’s, romantic storyline. I’m looking forward to reading about the other brothers. This honest review is based on a complimentary pre-release copy from the author

A military man, Marcus, is home on leave when he catches sight of the new chef in town, June. She has been widowed for five years and is trying to raise her son to be healthy and happy. When she meets Marcus, she is intrigued but too afraid to let herself fall for him.

it was a good superficial read, quick and to the point. I wish the author had dug a bit deeper with both Marcus and June but as I said, it was still a good story
