A small-town single-dad cowboy and a matchmaker out to prove herself in the big city… Can they have a chance at love? After Maggie Harris is fired from her job at a prestigious matchmaking agency in New York, she returns to her hometown, Cowboy Crossing, Missouri, to regroup. Falling for a local cowboy, Georgio Moore, isn’t part of the plan, despite the attraction sparking between them. But abandoned by her mother as a child, Maggie instantly connects with Georgio’s daughter and offers to find him a wife who'll be a good mother for his child. Since his ex-wife left him and their daughter to chase the city lights, Georgio hasn’t been in the market for romance. However, he’d do anything for his daughter, even agree to Maggie's ridiculous idea. If only she'd see that the only woman he wants to be matched with is her. Once Maggie has the opportunity to rebuild her career in New York, will she let love lead her—or her bruised ego?
A prequel to the Cowboy Crossing Romance series (can be read as a stand-alone)

My review today is on the Christian Romance, Show Me a Single-Dad Cowboy. This is a Prequel to the Cowboy Crossing Romance Series. I always enjoy Alexa's book and I'm thrilled when she has a new one come out. This story is well written and heart warming. I know you are going to love it.
Maggie Harris returns home after being fired. She had been a very successful matchmaker; then one of her clients took advantage of her. Her boss believed the client and that was the end. She has forgot how beautiful Missouri can be. She is out riding when her secret crush rides up. He had asked her out for a pity date years ago. She needed to protect her heart from this gorgeous cowboy.
Georgio Moore is the son of an affluent rancher. His father had ran off taking most of the family money with him. His ex-wife ran off and left him and his son. Georgio has built up the ranch to be prosperous. He agrees to have Maggie find him a match. Unfortunately the only woman he wants t date is her.
A delightful journey to find the perfect match. They both realize that they want only each other but refuse to acknowledge it. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. I know we are in trying times but Jesus is our only answer. Ask Him into your heart and watch Him move in your life.
Loved this book!! Maggie couldn't find happiness with Georgio until she finally realized that she was worthy in God's eyes, and that she needed to look at herself as being worthy. Her childhood with her father was good, but she listened to the opinion's of others and not to God. Georgio had liked her, had asked her out, but she thought he was doing it out of pity. When they meet again, she finds out he liked her back then, and his perception of her was based on his life experiences, so he thought she didn't want to be with a cowboy, no matter how well off he might be. I love the way the two of them figure things out, and finally get together. Bianca is another one that steals the show!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Maggie was home from a job because a client had forced himself on her and caused her boss to fire her for fraternizing with a client, which was against the rules. She had been very good at her job of match-making, which had helped boost her self esteem. When she came home, she met the man of her dreams, who had a daughter. She and the man's daughter grew to live each other, but she resisted the urge to fall for him. When she was offered her job back with a promotion, she was on her way back to New York when she finally realized she was in love with the cowboy dad, so she decided to go back.
Maggie Harris works for a matchmaking company in New York. Being very good at her job, it was a blow to lose it. To sort herself out, she returns to a friend's ranch in Missouri. Said friend immediately wants to assign her the task of finding a match for her brother, Georgio. While Maggie comes up with some great choices, Georgio isn't really turned on by any of them. However, it's possible that Maggie is starting to do that for him. I have really enjoyed this series, but, probably, what I like the most is the children featured in each one. They are adorable!
Show Me A Single Dad Cowboy BY: Alexa Verde This is a prequel to a series by Alexa Verde’s stories in The Cowboy Crossing. This is Maggie and Georgio’s story. Maggie comes home after loosing her job that she was very good at, Matching. Georgio is a single dad cowboy and loves his daughter very much. Maggie sets out to find a mom for his daughter. Can she find her the right mom? I laughed in some area of the story. This is a very heartwarming story and you cannot help but fall in love with the story and the characters. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This is a wonderful standalone short story that revolves around Georgio, a single Dad cowboy, and Maggie who came back home after getting fired from her job as a matchmaker in New York. This is a beautiful love story and the characters are great especially Georgio's little girl, Brianna. I highly recommend this clean romance.
She didn"t accept his date request when they were teenagers. He thought she wanted a big city life. Both were wrong. Will a second chance work? Did I mention he now has a sweet daughter that wants a Mom? Very cute, humorous story where she gets to know herself and her insecurity better.
I totally do not think you can look at pictures of people and get a feel if they would be a good match or not. Just not feeling that part of your story. The romance was nice.. Her drama issues not so much.
By the way. You may want to Google what us safe to feed ducks for future reference. Bread is not it. I think frozen peas are.
Maggie has just lost her work in a matchmaker famous company in New York. She is back in Cowboy Crossing visiting with her friend Liberty. Can she use her skill set as a matchmaker and find a new mother to Giorgio’s daughter when the perfect match could be herself? Sweet
She’s comes home after getting fired. He’s now a single dad with a daughter. She decides to match him with a future wife but it’s herself that he wants. She finally lets herself admit to wanting him too.
How precious and wonderful to read about real love in the lives of real down to earth people. God’s children face obstacles in finding joy, love, and happiness, but with his help are wonderfully successful.
Considering she had fled form the town she grew up in, maybe she had to return for something she had missed. When you learn to run away from things you need to learn to face them.God has His own plans for you.
This was such a refreshing book to read. To see the growth that two people achieved was great. The best was no vulgar language and trusting in God's leading. Would recommend
A sweet, feel good, simple story that meets a need on a “ down“ day. A reader can’t help but smile & feel happy by the end....even with ups & downs in the story. Thanks author Verde!
Just finished this quick clean and wholesome read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The author did an excellent job showing that Sometimes you have to just stop, trust yourself and God and take that next step!
This is a very cute, very short story. I am glad that I didn’t have to pay for it. I don’t think I will read any more of the books in the series because I like a little more meat to the books I read. Thank you for the opportunity to read another author’s writing.
Alexa tells a faith-based story of happiness, friendship and love. Every novel I've read has left me feeling upbeat and thankful for the small things in my life. ☺
Show Me A Single Dad Cowboy was such a sweet novella! It was the perfect short read to pass the time, as well as the perfect introduction to the Cowboy Crossing series. I liked the "second chance" part of the story between Maggie and Georgio, thanks to a miscommunication in their past, as well as getting to see the interactions with Georgio's sweet little girl, Bianca. It was also fun having Maggie be a matchmaker for a living, though I think this was more told than shown. The faith arc is subtle, though it's talked about more as the story progresses. The ending felt a bit rushed to me, as well as the personal revelations Maggie had concerning her issues with self-esteem, confidence, and worth. But I guess I'm also saying that I wish it could've been longer, since I definitely wouldn't have minded spending more time with these characters, and thus I'm really glad there's a whole series of them. :) Can't wait to dive into the next one! ~ 4 stars
Maggie loved working as a Matchmaker in a big town but what she didn't count on was an overexcited client kissing her and her boss seeing it and misinterpreted the situation. The was a rule against dating your clients and she was dismissed. She went to stay with her best friend Liberty who lives at her parents place.
She meets up with Georgio who is Liberty's cousin. Also the boy Maggie had a crush on in high school. Will things work out for them this time. Will there even be a this time.
He's a single father and she is back in her hometown to regroup. When Maggie loses her job because one of the clients got to handsy she accepts the offer of her best friend and comes home where she rung into Georgio. She has always been attracted to him but felt she wasn't good enough for him. After spending time with him and his daughter she offers to find a wife and mother for his daughter but will this backfire when her feeling become evident for him? this touching story will have you cheering this couple on to get a chance for happiness!
