Donna’s daughter, Olivia, helps out at the store and has big plans for it—if Donna would ever give her a chance to implement any of them.
Evelyn’s daughter, Heather, is a well-known illustrator who pops into town now and again—just what is she hiding from?
Then there is the matriarch of the family, Patricia. She’s rather—difficult.

Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
I’m a sucker for Kay Correll’s books and this one was no exception- the first in her new Moonbeam Bay series. Light, quick, wholesome reading- just what I needed after reading a thriller. I like the Parker women and the little town of Moonbeam. I overlooked the many editing errors. Anxious to read the next installment in this new series!
The Parker Women: Moonbeam Bay Book 1 is by Kay Correll. This book introduces us to the Parker women, although none have that last name. Their great-grandparents opened a general store in Moonbeam Bay and it was named after them, The Parkers. However, they only had girls and the name went out of the family but the store and their families were always known as the Parker family. The store was now run by Donna Foster and her daughter Olivia and her granddaughter Emily. In addition to a general store, the store also had a malt shop that was known for Grandmother Parker’s ice cream, especially vanilla. The Cabot Hotel, once a beautiful hotel, has been purchased and is being refurbished. Barry Richmond has been hired to oversee the completion of the hotel. His friend Delbert Hamilton even found him a place to stay. It just so happens it is next door to Donna Foster’s home. Her granddaughter, Emily, knows all about the hotel as she works at the town’s history museum and has been fascinated with the hotel. Olivia’s cousin Heather is back in town. They have been best friends since they were born, on the same day. Heather has been traveling and painting for years. Now she is back; but will she stay? Olivia has an idea that might just work at keeping her in town.
this sweet (almost saccharine) novel brings the women of the Parker family of Moonbeam Bay to life. Donna and Evelyn are sisters who are not particularly alike. Although both have adult daughters, Donna has spent most of her life running the Parker General Store. Evelyn is a great cook and organizer who has avoided any sense of domesticity. Her husband travels and she is active in community events. However, their daughters are best friends. It is an interesting story of family relationships.
I enjoyed reading this book loved all the family Donna the mother,Olivia the daughter, and Emily the Granddaughter. Also about the restoring the hotel and expanding their General Store. I think whoever reads this book will love it. Looking forward to the next one.
As always, once I start, I can’t stop! I absolutely love every book! Can’t wait for the next installment in The Parker Women. Such fantastic stories, family and community relationships. If you’re ever feeling down, pick up one of these books, but make sure you start from the beginning - makes it so much more heavenly!
Very slow book! After waiting almost 6 weeks to get it from overdrive, I ended up deleting it before I was even halfway into it. I just could not get into the story line. It was all over the place with the women and background. It just didn’t hold my attention. I’m so sad it didn’t work out for me because the covers are gorgeous and made me want to be a part of that town.
This first book in the Moonbeam Bay series was a bit slow to start but once I became familiar with the characters, Kay Correll did not disappoint. I've just finished this book #1 and I'm ready to start book #2. I also love how Kay incorporates characters from her other book series, makes you feel like one big family.
I love the way Kay Correll write. Very nice entertainment especially when you just want something light to read. This is my second series of hers and I loved the first book. Another good series coming up.
Really good read but I don't like where it stopped! I want more! Loved these characters and the plot of this book. Glad Del is over it. Was hoping for something more for him. Donna and Barry are going to be great together. So looking forward to reading the next installment. Can't come soon enough.
Meeting all the Parker women was great. I can't wait to read the upcoming books and see how they flourish. I am looking forward to visiting the new Parker's store and cafe the revitalized Cabot Hotel.
I love this new series! I can’t wait to see how the Gala turns out and what lies ahead for the general store. I’m tickled pink about Delbert and Camille. I also can’t wait to see what lies ahead for Donna and Livey. ♥️♥️♥️
Each new series you meet great characters. If you like books that includes family, whether healthy or disfunctional you will like how this works together!
Cute short story about three generations of women who run a store in a small town. Single mom Meets up with a hotel manager and begins a new relationship. Book sets up future stories in the series. Wish the books were a little longer.

This book was wonderful. The characters are very well written, and the story continues in the next book. So the friends you just made, don't just disappear. Excited for the next book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the series. It’s summer and I need a good beach read. This book fits the bill. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
“Nice to meet you.” Thank you.” “Anytime.” My first Correll, and my last. DNF and barely started. The dialogue was painful and in no way enticed me to continue reading. Know I’m way in the minority but so many books, so many great storytellers, so little time to waste.
This is the first time I read a book by Kay Correll. I was not able to put this book down. I fell in love with the characters and the small town feel of Moonbeam Bay . It is a story about family, love and starting over. You will not be disappointed.
Easy read and I liked the characters but it felt like I came into the middle of the story. For instance, the introduction of Del and Camille had me keep going back to see if I’d missed things, particularly about her nasty haughtiness.
Easy read which was just what I needed. Characters were believable. I enjoy reading series and this author writes those. I have already ordered the next book about the Parker women.
First book in a series that feels like a Summer read I thoroughly enjoyed this light, sweet story of four generations of women. I’ll look for book two.
