Brianna Woods knows love. Or so she believes. Since falling for a kid that defended her in preschool many years ago, she's lived a life in honor of all things Austin Payne. Cameron Steven's's family has money--lots of it. He even has the perfect life with the perfect fiancée and a perfect future. Or so he believes. When he tries to surprise his "perfect" fiancée after extended travel outside of the US, he's left crushed. All hope is gone. But as with life and destiny; nothing is ever final. One day, on a chance encounter, Cameron and Brianna meet. That moment becomes etched within their minds. Their personal lives begin imploding, yet they keep finding each other when they never expect to. These chance encounters grown and develop into something so sublime that they are eventually forced to examine the possibility of loving someone new. At Her Core is a slow burn where the main characters do not get together easily, as with real life--they must first work on themselves. It's also an emotional story of love, disappointment, hurt and most importantly, redemption. (This is a re-release & 3rd volume.)

"At Her Core" by Janice Ross
My Speculation:
What a good story this one was of finally finding Brianna and Cameron on the road of finally finding happiness. The author an excellent job of giving the reader an emotional read that will keep one's attention to the end with four epilogues. Be ready for some interesting, complex characters that will have you shaking your head and saying, wow. It was a fun ride as we see Briana and Cameron evolve, and you will have to pick up this story to see if there will be a HEA for these two.
Fate keeps bringing Cameron and Brianna together and their journey is definitely an emotional roller coaster. A variety of emotions keep the story twisting. Love, slow-burn romance, redemption, loss, disappointment, sadness and more. They both had baggage from past loves and that created obstacles that slowed down their union. A good story with plenty of emotion and a slow-burn romance that I read as a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review.
Okay here is what I thought about "At Her Core": the author didn't lie this book is a show burn i would argue slower then most show burns I've read. Brianna character is stubborn and super naive if you asked me. Cameron comes from a wealthy family and tends to have anger issue due to his toxic parents. These two unlikely souls meet saving Bri friend and from there the two are bonded however, Bri has already meant the love of her life or so she thinks. Over the course of this story destiny continues to bring these two in each other orbit. Overall I enjoy the story although Bri incessant crying did annoy the hell out of me but this was definitely a different take on cross star lovers it was interesting at times. I would add that I wish the author wrote streamer sex scenes I mean at that point the reader has waited a pretty big portion of the story for the two protagonist to get together. I little more fire was definitely needed. Now would I recommend this sure why not if you don't mind the slow burn this book is enjoyable.
This book is filled with ups and downs like a rollercoaster. I enjoyed how the characters grew and let love heal them. The ending left more to be desired, as if the story is not over. It ends with a HEA but something let's me know this may not be over. I hope the author doesn't make this into a series filled with more ups and down. Maybe a short novella catching up with the couple years layer. Overall, great book.
I read this before. And I must say I enjoyed it like it was the first time again . I will definitely recommend this book. I especially liked the West Indian references. My husband is Guyanese, bff is Jamaican and I have been to and danced in the Labor day carnival down Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn.
