New from the author of the best-selling Val Fremden Mystery Series! What Readers are Saying about the Series: "This series cracks me up!" Amazon Review"I have read Tim Dorsey, Carl Hiaasen, and Randy Wayne White. Those writers are funny but they need to watch out for you." J. Heinrich"I've heard the expression "I laughed so hard I cried" but I never experienced it until I read this book." Moth Busters Amazon Review"I read a lot, and Kindle suggested this book. Moth Busters is laugh out loud funny. Is everyone in Florida crazy?" Facebook Review"Not a scary or over the top paranormal book. I stayed up until 2:30 in the morning reading it. It was just that good! I'm a real scaredy-cat, just not into reading about things that go bump in the night. It is filled with quirky characters, mystery and a lot of humor. So if you want to be truly entertained, READ THIS BOOK." Amazon Review"Plenty of mysteries and slap stick humor with a backwoods redneck cousin thrown in the mix. I almost felt like I was reading a cross between Terry Pratchett and Piers Anthony." Amazon Review"Full of wacky characters, amazing descriptions, and lots of theories of the unknown, this book makes for a funny mystery." Amazon Review"Rampant with humorous banter and fun interpersonal relationships over a solidly bizarre mystery and great characterization." Amazon Review"This is a rollicking ride from the very beginning with laugh-out-loud prose, rednecks, weirdos and Tootsie Pops...oh my!" Amazon Review
Why do I love underdogs? Well, it takes one to know one.
Like the main characters in my novels, I haven’t lead a life of wealth or luxury. In fact, as it stands now, I’m set to inherit a half-eaten jar of Cheez Whiz…if my siblings don’t beat me to it.
During my illustrious career, I’ve been a roller-skating waitress, an actuarial assistant, an advertising copywriter, a real estate agent, a house flipper, an organic farmer, and a traveling vagabond/truth seeker. But no matter where I’ve gone or what I’ve done, I’ve always felt like a weirdo.
I’ve learned a heck of a lot in my life. But getting to know myself has been my greatest journey. Today, I know I’m smart. I’m direct. I’m jaded. I’m hopeful. I’m funny. I’m fierce. I’m a pushover. And I have a laugh that lures strangers over, wanting to join in the fun.
In other words, I’m a jumble of opposing talents and flaws and emotions. And it’s all good.
I enjoy underdogs because we’ve got spunk. And hope. And secrets that drive us to be different from the rest.
So dare to be different. It's the only way to be! Happy reading!
Just another crazy adventure of Grayson, mysterious and great-looking, Dex, a crazy redhead that is working with Grayson to get her PI licenses, and lastly Earl, Dex'x cousin who might be a bit slow but seems to show up when they need him. This time they are tracking a giant cicada that was supposed to be killing people in and around a State of FL park. This park was special because it was the last grove of a very special pin tree. Its sap was used in making a pine-scented cleaner. There was a factory nearby that was producing this pine-scented cleaner. As always there is a large group of characters that are all connected in some way to each victim. And some may have had a hand in killing and removing the heads of the victims. Everything becomes clear in the end and as always Grayson has another sighting, this time Bigfoot, to investigate. And Dex has to deal with her feelings about Grayson.
This was book 5 in the "Freaky Florida Mystery Adventures"When Grayson and Bobbie head to the Florida Panhandle to witness a spectacle of nature. They take a wrong turn and quickly find themselves up to their armpits in arthropods. People are going missing near Torreya State Park. This book was full of laughs like the rest of the books in this series. They find some body parts in some weird places like a head in a toilet or a body at a buffet. I also am curious at to what is going on between Drex and Grayson it seem that one or both of them are catching feelings. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
If you’re a follower of this series already or just a fan of cryptid tales with a heaping slice of Florida Man for hilarious dessert… this book is a must read. Belly laugh enduring from start to finish, the author weaves a humorous, gross, and thrilling story about Drex and her merry band of misfits as they encounter a once in a lifetime cicada event. With enough innuendo and sass to drown a horse, Drex will have you cheering one moment and wishing she’d slap the tar out of someone the next. Don’t miss out!
Read books in order, Drex and Greg- the main- people in the story will make you laugh you hiney off! the antics of the people, the main characters meet and the who, what -did They just enter the twilight zone?, when, how, why. trying to keep up with their logic and solving the mysteries will keep you entertained to the end!
This fifth book I took my time with reading it as I have read the others a little to fast, but I must say that I have not been disappointed with this story. Fred and Grayson along with Earl as they are on a new case dealing with insects. Now it is time for the next book in this series.
I've loved every book in this series so far, and I'm really hoping they get made in audiobook form soon. I have book one on Audible, but the rest I've had to listen to with the robotic kindle voice, so I can do other things while still getting my Florida fix. Even with the kindle voice, the energy from the characters shines through!
These mysteries are always good for more than a few laughs while the two main characters actually solve the mystery at hand. I can’t put one down! My yard is beginning to look like the center median on 17-92. I can only hope that the authors other series are as good as this one.
Another great story by Margaret Lashley. Have enjoyed these books immensely and would recommend them to everyone. Very funny and makes you think is there's such creatures. Can't wait for the next one. Keel on writing Margaret
These books are so addicting, like fried cicadas!!! But this one took it to the next level. I won't give it away, but now I need to listen to some Pink Floyd. You will just need to read it to find out why😎
Bobbie, Nick, and Earl head to the Florida panhandle when they hear about some strange things happening. They learn about Hacksaw Hattie, giant arthropods, and other fun things. A good read.
This lady is one heck of a writer. I love these books and can't get enough. I laugh so much. I hope she comes out with more. I am on the last one and do not want it to end.
What kind of trouble can Bobbie and Earl and Grayson get into next ... There are puns and pranks galore from this warped "Scooby gang".. So grab a tootsie pop and go along for a rednecked ride in the search for a giant (possibly man-eating) insect
Great story. Couldn't put this one down. I've loved all the books in this series but this one and Ape Shift have been my favorites so far. Highly recommend!
Freaky Florida investigations 1 of my favorites book series that I read. This book is funny, well written, and researched well. Definitely worth reading. Next time that I'm in the panhandle I'm going to have to stop in Bristol.
Such great times had by the gang in these books. You just never know who is what to expect, that is my true love of this series. Normal is boring, freaky is fun.
