Yamamoto Hideo , is a Japanese manga artist best known for the manga series "Ichi the Killer" (which was adapted into a live-action film in 2001) and the series, Homunculus (manga). Recurring themes in his manga are crime, sexual deviations, and psychology.
Nakoshi is embracing the world of illusions by asking pierced guy to sew his enhanced eye shut. Also, so what does pierced guy's homunculus mean in the simplest words? Is he gay or what? Because I'm really convinced now. I've been figuring him out for how many volumes now and all my theories were rejected. One hell of a guy, as slimy as his fish—so hard to catch. Just keeps on slipping through my fingers.
Within the confines of the narrative, there is very little time for readers to digest and think about the issue before the author tries to introduce new imagery/symbolism or revoke existing thoughts/misconceptions in order to form'more accurate' ones.
So this volume barely brought the story half an hour ahead from where the last left us off. And with very little more to come of it. Just an increase in my usual confusion thanks to a really long discussion that might not even have been real but just a mere illusion. So thanks for nothing Mr Yamamoto.
I like that the protagonist sealed his normal eye permanently shut so that all he could see are the psychological illusions, but the plot has gotten a bit too convoluted.
The mystery between Mr. Nakoshi and Itoh has started to unravel by being more complicated ...
I don't really understand why Mr. Nakoshi has decided to dive into the disfigured realm almost permanently, shutting out the normal way of seeing and judging things; he always wanted to get back to the way things were before...
Itoh and Nakoshi both agreed to try to undo the operation, but what happened then?
A glimpse of another unfathomable? The temptation of being in close quarters with the supernatural? Or is it, that among all these illusions and disfigurements you see bits of yourself spread and assigned among them like particles?
When does a man get so desperate to know himself? Mr. Nakoshi was never "normal", and so here we are...
And are things really illusions?
With the only thing that worked as a divider now closed shut, it's now more like a one-way ride now, and that's what he chose...
3.5 stars okayyy this is really tripping me out. I'm not sure how I feel about him stitching his right eye because prior to that, everytime he would close his right eye, I would just scream internally for him to close it. I get that it's just in his nature to be curious but he really overdid it.
now that the right eye is sealed forever, I doubt we'll ever get to see somebody normal again. I don't get the fish in the tank thing and the volume ended directly in the middle so I hope the next explains things better.
This manga series is about a homeless man who underwent a surgical procedure called trepanation to activate his sixth sense. So far, the manga has been becoming increasingly complicated and repulsive.
Meski terkesan datar, namun saya masih tetap tertarik mengikuti Susumu Nakoshi. Kali ini Manabu yg jadi "pasien" Nakoshi :)) Well, agak bingung juga bagaimana berkomentar tanpa membuat spoiler, faktanya investigasi Manabu telah membuat terpaku, cukup memukau utk membuat membaca lanjutannya.
Ok so he sewed his eye shut so that he only sees people as their homunculi….I kinda get that he’s trying to get the flashy guy to admit that he tries to make himself fit the mold of his father while hiding his true self and sexuality, but it’s just getting rly confusing
i dont know where the story is going but i am getting scared. or have been?? beanie guy is a fucking freakbob but seeing him trying to unravel all of these people's fears and trying to make them "them" again is very interesting and seeing him try and solve the piercing dude's problems???
