Burning Rose

Rate this book
Resilient, thorny seventeen-year-old Phoenix Rose has come to terms with her imminent death-she has spent her life finding peace with her terminal illness.

But when her father is brutally murdered and she is sent to live with her grandmother, she finds she has something to live for now more than ever: avenging her father, and finding out who would have wanted him dead in the first place.

The first day at her new school, Phoenix meets Alexion Greyson. Strong, fierce, otherworldly-and yes, okay, incredibly hot-she is drawn to him right away. But he is keeping secrets. There is something not quite human about Alexion, and as Nixie gets closer to him, the truth is revealed: Alexion Greyson is the strongest of the new generation of Odin's Warriors. The strongest, that is, until the day he met Nixie.

With the help of a group of teenage Vikings, Phoenix Rose discovers she is the savior or destroyer of an ancient Viking race of warriors, the harbinger of Ragnarok, and hunted by her biological father-who may or may not be responsible for her true father's death.

Nixie has a choice to make. Accept the fate the mortal world has dealt her and die without knowing who (or what) she truly is, or embrace the pain and hurt and use it to fuel her ever-burning fire to avenge her father and fight for her new friends.

Thank you to Ms. Lyndsey for this book I won in the giveaway in exchange for an honest review and the goodies were amazing too. This book is an norse mythology urban fantasy about a young woman named Phonenix rose Nixie for short its young adult so there were stero typical mention of hot guys alot highschool stuff etc however the main character Nixie you just feel for her she has a illness has been through so much and I love her sense of humor! Shes a sassy one! Besides the cringey parts and alot of sex talk drama stuff the story itself is very good and this book seems under rated to me and there's some triggers too like of illness harm to someone abuse etc which at some points made me feel uncomfortable but I kept rooting for Nixie she breaks your heart and this is also a story about family as well and yes Vikings! It reminded me of Twilight in a way youll see why yes a love triangle but oh well and the book Crave a little but if you like Vikings and Norse mythology and a badass main character check it out!! I need the second book and I'm very grateful!
