Very good leadership tips

This is better than other leadership books I have read. He has clear examples of how to lead and skills that are needed. I enjoyed reading what he saw in his naval career, both for what worked well and the ones that were more of an example of how not to lead. Key take away that I got are that you have to schedule time, hold people accountable, recognize both good and bad behaviors, and work hard to truly listen to those you are leading.

This leadership book, written by the new interim leader at my school that I will be working under, has instilled hope and confidence in the future of my workspace. I eagerly look forward to watching these practices benefit my school and the students I teach.

This book outlines 3 principles that are essential to effective leadership and demonstrates their efficacy with both research and personal stories. According to Captain Brouser, a leader must embody technical competence in their field, must display consistency, and must demonstrate care for their employees. Upon reflection, I concurred that the most successful bosses in my own life portrayed these qualities. This was a very enjoyable read and not too mentally taxing. He gives actionable steps by which a leader can acquire the aforementioned qualities and I look forward to implementing them in my own life.
